Okay, so less than 24 hours ago,I realized that
I saw the announcementthat today is Kit day.
So we are jumping right in to suddenlyand furiously planning
all the things that would have beenthe last video that you saw.
And this video will be purchasingall of the things
that we intend to use for next yearthat are currently available.
Guys, welcome back to Making Everyday Magic.
(00:21):
My name is Shanna and if you are new herewe are a homeschooling family of four.
We are in our eighth year of homeschool, currently going into our ninth
year of homeschoolfor the 2025 2026 homeschool year
and we will have an eighth graderand a fourth grader.
So this video is going to be orderingall the things.
Let's go.
(00:42):
Back in time to get.
Before we go any further.
Please scroll down.
Hit the big red subscribe button, turn on the bell

As always, you can find me right on down
in the comments or over an Instagramat Making Everyday Magic.
Now the video before this onewill be planning what we intend to use.
This video will be purchasingwhat we intend to use and coming up soon.
(01:03):
I think the end of the next weekfrom when you're seeing this, should be
a video discussing our budget, how much we spent and all of those things.
I have a lot of fun planning contentcoming to you in May.
I will also be at some pointsoon, organizing
classes for a small group in my area, which is an entirely new experience to me.
So we will be discussing that as well.
(01:25):
Looking at my science options, because I got some ideas up
my sleeve and things like that.
So if you are interested in any of that,be sure that you are following
along this monthbecause there's lots of fun stuff
as well as our end of year recap, which is so crazy
because from filming this right now,
we have less than three weeks to get itdone,
get it wrapped up, get a nice bow on itbefore we head out on our own vacation,
which should be really fun. So,
(01:46):
Yes. Hey. Hi.
How are you? Welcome back.
I'm a little bit. I'm like.
Like a super speed man.
So we need to,as many of you often complain.
Scroll down.
Find that little, like, gear symbol, and you can actually slow me down.
Let me know if you hear ghost voice.
I haven't heard itthe last two weeks of editing,
but I've been filming in differentlocations, so maybe that's what it was.
(02:08):
And yes, okay, so
from the time that you were seeing this,I have already got our plan together.
From the time of filming this.
I'm about to sit downand make out my plan.
If you remember,I am intentionally taking simple
into our homeschool going forward.
Now it's Kit day.
I love to start my homeschool buying onthe timber duty website on kit launch day.
(02:32):
It just makes me so happy.
I love seeing everything that's out there.
I love seeing everythingthey're putting in the kits,
what they've changed, what's new and Iwill usually start my purchasing there.
However,
last year I was
genuinely shockedto actually qualify for a kit
and I really, really, really don't thinkI will be qualifying for a kit this year.
(02:52):
But we'll see.
So I will start there.
And I also intend to make the rounds.
So a timber doodle starting with TimberDoodle for my ordering for eighth grade.
In fourth grade,
and then continuing on to Royal FireworksPress because I know that I need it.
I will wait closer to time
to purchase Denison just because it'sgot that one year subscription.
(03:13):
So I want to make sure I maximize it.
And, science I think is still a littleup in the air, but I've got some ideas.
I've got a whole video coming up on thatbecause I know what I want to do.
I just don't knowwhich piece is going to give it to me.
So I'm I've narrowed it down to a fewand I'm going
to share them all with youbecause I know you guys better know.
(03:33):
So I also know that I need some stufffrom Evan Moore.
I recently shared,I got a preview of their new
animals book, and my youngest just devoured it.
Like, I mean, just like 2 or 3 weeks.
The entire but fully completed.
And she's already asked, you definitelywant to do that again next year.
And then I almost always have some Amazon.
(03:56):
I'm going to see if I can just maybe doBarnes and Nobles instead.
And do a quick pick up that. We'll see.
So that is where we are.
That is my intent. That is where this video is headed.
And then of course,I will be having like planning it
out, unboxingall of that stuff will be coming up later.
But this one, this one is buying the things.
So let us go spend all of my money.
(04:17):
Let's go.
Hey guys.
Okay, so I am sitting down to order.
I literally just in my real lifetimeplanned these out.
As you can see,I've got eighth grade and fourth grade.
And I am going to get to ordering.
Here we go.
We are starting on the timberDoodle website, so
(04:39):
my intent was to do, like a little voice,a little, like head of mine.
But I thinkI'm just going to go with voice. Okay.
So the first thing that I noticed, like yesterday was that they have totally
changed their website.
So the website look is very different.
They've got a link for your schedulersright up top.
You can sign in for your doodle dollars.
But let's go check out damn cats y'all.
(05:00):
Let's go check them out. I'm so excited.
Oh wait, where are they?
Where are they?
Today.
It is today. Yeah.
Fourth grade cats are
at the 2025 earthquake.
Regular cat.
Okay, so the discounted price,if you don't know, timber
(05:21):
doodle curates curriculum cats, which is really cool.
And they put it all together.
And when they package it
all in this nice, neat box, they give you a heck of a discount.
Plus, it ships for free. For free.
They're getting what is in it.
Okay, Handbook.
Language arts.
(05:42):
Okay. Math.
Personal finance.
I do know two way like it
I don't know, we'll see.
Okay. Thinking skills. Oh fine game.
Ancient Vikings strategy game.
I might have to get that storyof the world.
That's no for us.
Got it? Own it. No. Thank you.
(06:04):
This is why.
Oh, flags the world. Got it? No.
Nope. No.

a bit.
I don't know that I'm going to get that.
Here.
I don't think I'm going to get that.
Okay.
So honestly, it is not
not a lot.
(08:13):
I didn't see it.
So I'm wonderingif I even can customize it right now.
Because if I just add itand see if I just add it to cart.
Yeah.

This is how we spend. This is how we plan.
And again, heading into my ninth year,
I know thatthis is the way I like to do things.
I will have a videocoming up on budgeting,
and I do have lots of videos on my channelfor absolutely free
(15:49):
or incredibly low cost resourcesfor every single topic that we cover.
And that is because I really hopethat cost is not a barrier
to homeschool for anyone.
The cost of actual homeschool curriculumand supplies shouldn't be a barrier.
Which is why it's really important for me,especially to come across really, really
amazing, high quality resources that areliterally no cost or incredibly low cost
(16:13):
to share them with you so that you do knowthat you can get an amazing wide
range covering incredibly robust education
as homeschool familiesfrom these free and low cost resources.
So they are.I do have tons of those links here.
This is just what we like.
This is what we preferand this is what we've found works.
And if you want more details on our budgetand how we come up with that
(16:34):
and what I've actually spent, stay tuned, because that will be coming up
later this month.
But I've also shared about it every yearI've shared here on YouTube.
