Speaker 1 (00:00):
M hmm. This is the Unfiltered Union.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Here is this week's episode.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
We are recording.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yeah tongue, What is that from? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
I'm serious, I don't know either. What is that from?
I ate mos? What is that from? What did you?
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (00:37):
I drank a gatoride?
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Oh wait?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Oh I just I just drank another one.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Oh freaking me out? Re do like that time you
took up what was it turn your tongue grey?
Speaker 1 (00:53):
No, it turned black. You take pepto at night and
you wake up in the morning, and don't freak out.
If you spit out black stuff, You're good. You may
not have cancer like I thought.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Oh man. Also, the way to start it.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
The weirdest thing. I mean, it's kind of appropriate, of
like fighting aliens and stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Okay, well we're millennials.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
We are very very nostalgic people with blue tongues. Okay,
all right, so we're struggling here. If you can't tell
which we need to get it together because we have
a pretty decent interview coming decent.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Yeah, you are over the moon excited. Let's be clear
this is true before we get there.
Speaker 1 (01:49):
I know, I know there's stuff to go through. I'm
just saying we must get I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Gone now after that. Okay, we have.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
I love video because now people that are watching can
actually see my antics. Okay, it's hilarious. We are millennials.
We are very nostillennial. You're a child, yes, correct, but
I'm a nostalgic child.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Okay, we are millennials. We are nostalgic. I have a
list of my top favorite like cult movies.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Okay, and it goes.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Directly into who we're interviewing today, but we'll get there
in just a second. Can you guess any of them?
You've seen the list? We have a script, make sure
that we're both on track here. But my top first one,
Princess Brian absolutely one of my top favorite, and I
believe it's a cult classic because it's not something that
(02:49):
was you know, high dollar overproduced, and.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
If you look at it and watch it, it's not great. No, no,
like like you just said, production values and stuff, it's
not great, But that doesn't matter. It was really good.
It probably cost him like thirty five cents to make
that movie.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
I don't know, Andre the Giant was probably pretty expensive.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Yeah. Probably.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
My next one is Breakfast Club.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
That's I like, I like that I like Princess Bride
and Breakfast Club.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
To be fair, the Breakfast Club to me is like
classic eighties. You know, my parents liked it. I liked
it when I was able to watch it at an
age appropriate time.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
It was unlike Jaws.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
It was a very good movie. I liked that movie
a lot.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
And then you're very picky and choosey one, what's age
appropriate when you were a kid?
Speaker 2 (03:41):
True, it was ever whatever it was on TV, but
then off of space. I didn't watch that until I
met you.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Yes, I take full credit to that one.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
You should, but it's one of those that was quoted
at my at a previous workplace, many over quoted.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Let's be.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Those reports reports. Oh yeah, it would say it every
five seconds, and I'm just like, ha ha ha.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Are there TDS reports? Now? Though I don't know Trump
derangement syndrome.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Possibly, I was thinking total dissolved solids. But that's the
previous life.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Yes, did water people water nerds come out? Unite?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
There you go?
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
One of the ones I didn't have on there was
V for Vendetta, Like I think that probably has a
higher production value that maybe doesn't put it into the
category of cult.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Yeah, I don't really think that's a cult thing. I
don't know. I just feel like cult movies cult classics
are I don't know.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
I mean, I guess you.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Could do it because it's something that is not that
popular when it comes out, and then it grows in
popularity as it ages. I guess that's a cult classic
to me.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Well, to me, that V for Vendetta is probably your
top No. Number one cult classic movie favorite. But tell
me your other ones first before we get to your number.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Number one B for Vendetta. Oh, I thought that's what
you just said. Yes, your number one.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
For Vendetta is my number one. Okay, it's probably equivalent
to your number one, But tell me your other ones first.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Deep bluesy uh huh, Hello cool Ja, Hello cool Jay,
Samuel Jackson, Shark Movie. I like that movie a lot.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
What else?
Speaker 2 (05:29):
My father inspired?
Speaker 1 (05:31):
Well, I'm struggling.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
This is why we have a list.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
This is why we have a list, and why I
have a blue tongue. Red Dawn, uh huh. I love
Red Dawn. Gritty kind of especially at the time it
was kind of like could be real Russian relations were
not good, you know, Cold war type stuff.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Yeah, and it wasn't overproduced. I mean it had a
you know, a couple of big names, Patrick Swayze I
think was up and coming at that time. But it
just good movie.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Yeah, I love that movie. Is No, the New One
is not.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
The New One's good, but it just isn't hit in
the time and era that it came out. And you
know what I mean, Like I feel like with Red Dawn,
it came out at the perfect time.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. I mean there was a
real threat. Well so what we thought, you know, yeah,
Cat's trying to come in and then my final movie
and who is who? Oh? Who were going to be
interviewing today? The cat is crazy. Who we're going to
(06:41):
be interviewing today is uh, Starship Troopers and we're going
to be interviewing Johnny Rico aka Castor Van Dean from
Starship Troopers. I am very excited just see you guys now, girls,
it's really bad how excited I am about this? Like
I'm probably not gonna talk right, I.
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Mean that's about but yes, we get to interview him
today and talk about the new game that's coming out.
There's this huge resurgence of popularity around Stormship woo. Starship
Troopers storm Ship you sound trash, can.
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Mess it up.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
But the Starship Troopers continue on for virtual reality on Metaquest.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
And it's coming out for PSBR as well.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
Very cool. It is launch day. We get to talk
to Casper all about him, reprising his role as Johnny Rico,
introducing Casper Vendy. Hello, Happy launch day.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
We love the background.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Oh, thank you, em that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (07:58):
I'm jealous.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Thank you. I'm grateful that you're jealous.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
So my husband's having a fangirl moment. I give him
a second.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Are you are you Russ and Lindza you're married?
Speaker 2 (08:12):
We are? We are married here at the Unfiltered Union.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Yes, is it Russell or Russ because it says Russ
on my list?
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Russ?
Speaker 4 (08:20):
Right, Okay, Russ and Linz all right, perfect, Yeah, a
happy married couple and you're fan boying out. Well, I'm
I'm so grateful that you're doing that. Man, that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
The Starship Troopers was a huge part of my younger
teenage years.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Well, I'm I'm grateful to hear that, and I'm also sorry.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
He's not absolutely apologized about it.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
I am not that was seriously, It's still one of
my all time favorites. I talk about it all the time.
It's like a family tradition to watch that at least
once a year.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Well, you have great taste and in films too.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Well. We did want to start off with understanding that
there is a resurgeon right now. Happened in popularity right
it is over the movie, but now we have the
VR game and it is the Starship Troopers Continuum for
virtually virtual reality on metaquest. I mean, in the game,
you reprise your role as Johnny Rico. We're getting all
the nostalgia here.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Yeah, it is awesome. I played two days ago.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
I did the voiceover for this about a year ago,
and and Bobby the guy, one of the creators that
he said to me, he goes, you don't understand what
a thrill was for me to get to work with you.
I love the movie, and then all of a sudden,
you're doing the voiceover for and then I played it
with him two days ago for the first time VR
for me, because I'm a gamer and I play. I
played the other Starship Troopers game. I've been playing that
(09:42):
on Steam and streaming it, but this one's the first
time for me to go into VR, which was unbelievable
because you actually are in the VR world, you're killing
bugs in it.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
You know, we didn't be in the movie all over again, right.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Yeah, it's like being in the movie all over again.
So it's it's surreal. And I got to kill a
warrior bug.
Speaker 4 (09:57):
And I shot a hopper out of the sky and
the tanker Buggy goes.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
You don't understand how cool this is, Casper, and I go,
I love you, Bobby, this is awesome.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
So I'm having so much fun. I play.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
I already stream another Starship Troopers video game, Extermination.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
I play that are already all the time as General
jay Rico.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
By signed up a medical Quest and I'm not playing
that as General John General jay Rico.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
And in PlayStation five, I signed up as General j Rico.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
So people are confine me on all those literally can
find me and you can come kill bugs with me.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
So just to say, Russ, you can actually kill bugs
with me.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
I do do this and you can come into the
VR world and we can go kill some bugs together.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
I'm going to all right, you're gonna do your part.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
Yeah, you won't see it forever.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
I am doing my part. That is for sure.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
There you go. I'm gonna count on it.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
I mean, I I'm on Twitch is Casper Van Dean,
but in the game, I'm still General Jay Rico and
I literally do this all the time. I've been doing
it for the other game because it's been out, but
this one is just out now I'm gonna be doing
this game as well. So I'm gonna have a couple
of games where you can kill kill bugs with me
as General Ja Rico, and I literally just do quotes
from the movie and it's just so surreal. I'm not
(11:08):
as good as a lot of these gamers are. And
the VR one it's brand new for me, so I
was learning a lot of stuff. It's it's it's a
little confusing at first, but once you get it, it's
like so cool and and and they're getting great reviews
and it just looks awesome.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
I do think VR gaming is is probably the future.
I will I will say the only thing that's hanging
up for me is is just a little bit of
motion sickness. But I get used to it. It just
takes a minute. But I love I love VR and
the Starship Troopers World. I'm getting on there.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Somebody told me that you can get like a pad
where you can start walking where when you're doing it,
and that that kind of gets your body into it,
so you get a lot less motion sickness. And I
might try that too. I don't know yet, because uh
yeah I could. I could see where you can start
feeling that. I had to sit down because I was like,
wait a minute, my.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
Sense of reality was get warped.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
But I still couldn't stop because oh yeah, you know
I when I saw the movie, I was like, You've
gotta make video games about this. Yes, you know, they've
They've made similar games. There's been a lot of tribute
games to it, you know, over the games, and.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
That's always awesome. But I always wanted the Starship Troopers.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
And oh yeah, now I have a couple of them,
and I'm through the roof in the VR to be
in the world.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
I mean, come on, it's sick, bro.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
Oh yeah, oh yeah, no, I'm down. I will buy
this right after we get off here so I can
add you as a friend.
Speaker 4 (12:31):
I'm doing, dude, do it because I'm gonna be on it.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
And and people are literally flipping out because I've been
playing the other game because it's out right now and
I've been doing that NonStop on on Twitch. I've been
doing I've been playing it and going out and I'm
live streaming and doing this and killing bugs, and now
I'm gonna be doing it with this one. And I'm
just so thrilled because I got to I've got to
first help figure out how to do all that.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
But the medical question can take anywhere with you.
Speaker 3 (12:53):
I'm traveling on a Sunday, going to Europe and I'm
gonna be taking it with me to play because I
won't be able to bring my whole PC with me,
so I won't be able to play the other right now,
I'll only be able to play this one, which is,
you know, fine, because I'm going.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
To get a new experience for a little bit, for
a couple of.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Weeks killing bugs in Europe. Nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
Killing bugs.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Not bad. Huh. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
It's for work. I got a film, so it's for work.
You know. It's I can't tell you yet. I have
an NDA so it's a big thing. But it's awesome.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Oh I can I can feel it over here from
Russ right now.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
I know you can't talk about it but I'm praying
and it's more Starship Troopers stuff.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
Well, we'll see Johnny eventually. I think we're going to
get to that.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
I think all these this revival in Starshiproopers could lead
to something. There's actually a petition out right now that
I've been putting up in the streams where people are
trying to get either a movie or TV series going,
and I think it's the time is ripe for it.
I've been getting people yelling at me for the last
twenty eight years, just different quotes from Starship Troopers. You know, Carl,
You're as you want to live forever, which is kill
them all, which is not normal. But my kids grew
(13:58):
up with that, and it's just been something that's been
happen and it's a lot of fun and I love it,
and I think it's we're ready for it, so you know,
bringing on absolutely.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
There's there's so much quality. See I think back then,
like TV quality wasn't as good, but I think now
you've got the Netflix shows that are top tier graphics, yeah,
graphics and everything. I think Starship Tupers would be perfect
for a longer TV series, not just a one off
movie here and there.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Yeah, no, you know what, they I think they have
the time to really do it right.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
And I think a series, personally, I think a series
would be really epic because you could really explore it,
and you could have people going out and and I'd
be really more more than willing to come back to
old Man Rico, General Rico and come and help train
the troops and come help them out when they get
all messed up and screw things up.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
You know, I'll come in and help them out.
Speaker 1 (14:48):
You know, that's right.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
I'm willing to do my part.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Just loving that. Okay, be honest with us. Do you
still have the tattoo?
Speaker 3 (15:00):
Don't have that tattoo, but you know of Jake Busey
has the tattoo. And everybody's always My daughter who was
born during Starship Troopers played Chrissy and Stranger Things, which
is funny because she cheered for the Tigers in that
and I played for the Tigers and Starship Troopers, which
is weird. That's twenty five years later, the daughter that
was born during Starship Troopers cheered for the same team
that I played for. But she's always like that we
(15:22):
should get that tattoo. And she's just beautiful and cute,
and I'm like, no, you're not gonna get that tattoo,
and I'm not going to get it just so you don't.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
Get it, right, I'm not influencing bad decisions. I'm this one.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
That's one time I made the right decision. I still
debated every once in a while about getting it. Now
now she's twenty eight, so maybe she wouldn't get it.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
But I don't know if I did.
Speaker 4 (15:43):
And then she's like, well you did, And they're.
Speaker 1 (15:45):
Like, a, exactly what are you going to say to that? Well, no,
we have a young daughter too, so we're tiptoe in
the lines.
Speaker 4 (15:56):
Yeah, it's hard to tiptoe the lines. But you know,
gona choose whatever they'renna want to do and be.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
You can't you think you're going to influence them, And
really it's I mean, I might have influenced her in
one way because she is an actress.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
None of my other kids are, but she's the one
that became that. But you know, everybody's so individual and
they really know who they're going to be right away
for some reason.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
It's just weird for sure. For sure, did you know
you were going to be johnn Ricco?
Speaker 3 (16:20):
You know, I you know, I it's so funny because
I read that book when I was a kid, and
so to become that. I also read Tarzan when I
was a kid, and I also read Sleepy Hollow when
I was a kid, and I'm in all those movies,
you know, to be that, And in Sleepy Hollow, I'm
really you know, my the Van Dens were related to
the Van Tassels in real life, so you know, I
in that movie, I'm playing Brom van Brundt, who dates
(16:45):
Christina Reiche's character, which is the Tassel.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
And my dad was like, oh, so you have to
catch your cousin. I'm like, I don't think it works
that way. Then I'm quite sure.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
That's awesome. Oh my goodness. Well, I like Starship Troopers
was released almost thirty years ago. Now it's it's been
a long time. What are your thoughts on being asked
to just come back and play that character that you
played all those years ago constantly? It's there's a huge
resurgence going on right now.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
There's a huge resurgence right now. I mean it's so popular.
We're so popular at cons. There's pop there's a Funko
Pops that people.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Have of of some of the characters, two of Me
and the Warribug and the tanker Bug, and there's people
are showing up every time in that they show up
in the uniforms. There's the Hell Diverse two, there's a
Starship Troopers Determination that they did the voiceover for. There's
sixteen Person Shooter, and then there's there's all the different
games like hay or movies, Halo and all these things
that are like Starship Troopers. But then you have this
(17:47):
VR game where you get to step into the world the.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
First time ever. Is first ever Starship Troopers VR.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Game is getting great reviews. It's just fun. I had
somebody I played with another game with who came out.
I was just playing and I killed like six different
types of bugs and it was like.
Speaker 4 (18:01):
I only killed three so far, what are you talking about.
I'm Johnny Rico.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
And I literally played these games as General j Rico.
So you can come kill bugs with me in these games,
every one of them.
Speaker 4 (18:12):
I'm only going to be that. I love that.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
It's that I love that I'm still seen and so
closely tied to this film. But I also have always
embraced it, fully embraced it because it just it means
everything to me.
Speaker 4 (18:25):
It's given me my career.
Speaker 3 (18:26):
It's also got me in touch with people that it's
affected different people.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
Military people have joined up, people have seen it because
of their dad or or you know, they have a
close connection to it. Whatever it is.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
It just.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
Why whatever resonates with them so much, whatever the reason is,
it just means everything to me. And so I love
being a part of that.
Speaker 4 (18:46):
So I'm thrilled beyond belief.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Yeah, that's awesome. I love it. I really hope there's
more to come for the Starship Troopers universe with you
in it. Clearly, well, I.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Would love to be a part of it. I'll be
more than on my part.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
And like I said, there's a petition out there right
now and I've been putting it up on my streams
and I'll put it up on my social media's as well.
Just because I think there should be as another Starship
Troopers or a series.
Speaker 4 (19:13):
I think that would be the best way to do.
I think it would really.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Give the fans the opportunity to see everything and these
games where they're doing it now that they have the technology.
These people are the people that made the games are
nerves both games that I did are full on Searchship
Troopers fans, and that's awesome when you see that and
how much it affects them. So I'm always always thrilled
to be connected to it and have this opportunity still yes,
(19:41):
twenty eight years later.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Absolutely, Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Do you have any behind the scenes moments that you
can share, either for the games that you've done previously
or any that you can remember from the movie that
you remember vividly.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Well, I have a lot of memories for it, and
I think a lot of the memories from the movie
are still so vivid because people talk to me about
it all the time, so it's a refresh or they
remind me, or they say things, or they just yelled
these quotes. Literally, I can't airports and stuff in airports
at the supermarket when you're getting toilet paper, what are
you doing here?
Speaker 4 (20:15):
All them all in the bathroom. I it's it's.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
It's just it's an amazing experience to have this, to
have that, you know, reminder all the time. So my
memories are quite fond. My daughter was born during Starship Troopers.
When she was you know, when I was in the tank,
they let me out the next day. The one day
I had off on the seven months I shot that thing.
Because I was on either first or second unit, they
(20:45):
let me out and so I felt like I was
in u row with her a little bit, and then
out she was born. And the next day I was
back in the tank and Harrison Ford walked on set
because the second unit director was directing and he was
his stunt double in Indiana Jones, And so I got
to meet my daughter, Anne Harrison Ford in the same week.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
That is awesome.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
That's pretty epic. Absolutely, Wait, your daughter's name is not
Harrison right, it's.
Speaker 4 (21:12):
Not into you either.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
It's great, it's Grace.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Grace Hira. Well, that is awesome. I mean, I already
know I'm not going to see Russ for a week
or two at this point, especially since she gave him
all your tags.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
I've got both platforms. I'm going to add you on
Steam and then I will definitely be on the Medaquest.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
Oh awesome.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
Well, you know there's lots of girls that come play too,
And my daughter streams the game with me.
Speaker 4 (21:36):
She plays her characters Bluefee, so.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
She streams the other game with and I'm going to
try to get her to do this one too. I
just got to get her a medal quest or something,
so she can go and do that. But we'll stream
it together too. And she plays his blue Feet and
in one game they even have a blue fee blue
resource they have to get and everybody's calling it blue
feet because of her.
Speaker 4 (21:55):
So she's she is definitely She says she wants to
be in the start Ship Troopers.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
She said she wanted to be General Rico or Johnny Rico,
which I think is adorable.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
So it would be awesome.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
If they ever did redo it and it was a
it was her, I would love it. Or if she
came back and played my daughter, and I think she
could easily do that because she is my daughter.
Speaker 1 (22:15):
For so it makes sense.
Speaker 2 (22:20):
Well that's awesome. Well, we can't thank you enough for
being here. We appreciate you coming on. And again I said,
I'm probably not gonna see Rust for a few weeks,
and so you you get to enjoy his fandom.
Speaker 3 (22:31):
Oh well, you know it is just the fandom is
all is through the roof, out the door.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
You know, everybody is just so awesome.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
And and I can't wait to start streaming this on
my I have to learn how to set it all
up on my laptop and bring it out with me,
the VR I because I do Twitch. I do do
this on Twitch ask cast pervading, but uh at the
other game, and now I'm going to try to add
this one on to it too, so I can just
kill bugs and people would be like, what do you do?
Speaker 1 (22:57):
And I love it?
Speaker 2 (23:00):
Well, thank you so much for your time today.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Thank you filtered.
Speaker 4 (23:05):
And you guys are just a little north to me
up there in Tampa. So I'm down in Venice.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
Oh my goodness, I'm.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Watching my wife tonight and uh she plays Dolly Parton
in Uh she's playing the Dolly Parton part in nine
to five the musical at Ventice Theater.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
So I'm gonna be going see her tonight.
Speaker 3 (23:21):
So that we're local Florida people here.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
So if I go down to Venice, I can meet
Johnny Rika.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
Okay, if you came tonight, you'd see that, you'd see
the you see her in the play from seven it's
from seven thirty to ten, Dolly Parton.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
Nine to five. Oh much, I'd be there. Yeah, you
see me tonight.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Yeah, all right, like.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
That'd be taking that two hour trip.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
All right, all right, thank you. I appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (23:43):
Not two hours, it's an hour and nine minutes.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Okay, now you're selling it even harder here.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
Yeah, yeah, all right, thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (23:53):
Thank you, and hey guys, welcome to the roof next.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
That's right, Dan Rica Oorah, how you feel? I feel nice?
Speaker 2 (24:04):
You fangirled really hard.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
You know that doing this podcast has been a game
changer for us, meeting people that we would never ever
ever meet. That's one of them. Like, in a thousand years,
I would have never ever met that guy.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
You don't know that because he lives in Venice.
Speaker 1 (24:23):
I understand that, but I didn't know that until now.
I can't believe he just told us that. I think
I'm gonna have to bleep it out so nobody else
goes and stalks him. Don't funk with him though. He's Rico.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
But we could go see him and his wife. She
plays Dolly Pardon Venice the theater.
Speaker 1 (24:42):
Yes, Venice. There's another Venice? Is that in Italy?
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Go to that one.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
He's so smart.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
That's what he meant. He didn't mean in Florida. He
meant Venice in Italy, So you gotta go there. No,
I'm just kidding, don't listen to.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
It, toupe or what ooh.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
That bothers me. It's big, It's big, that's all it
gave me. I'm sad. I want to know, but I
will say I want to find that petition and I
am going to sign it.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
Because yea, we should post it on socials.
Speaker 1 (25:15):
Yes, I don't think Starship Troopers has given has been
given a fair shake in media. Now needs it's flowers,
Well it does. I think, Yeah, it was an awesome
movie in ninety seven, you know, back when it came out.
Well actually kind of like cult classic. It grew and
I think they need to give it another shake at least.
(25:37):
I think that's a series would be much better.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Yeah, his point about a series, like your point about Netflix,
like the way that we've come this far in television,
if you will.
Speaker 1 (25:49):
Yeah, TV used to be poopy, not not like.
Speaker 2 (25:51):
Not well, it used to be like you know, CD
CD class type of actors. But now you have big
names on TV.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Yeah. Well, and they're they're actually spending the money to
make quality TV shows. I just read a thing. The
League Legends Arcane Show animated two hundred and fifty million dollars,
two seasons, two seasons, two hundred and fifty million dollars.
Speaker 2 (26:16):
Crazy.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
That is a chunk of change. So you can't tell
me they can't do that with Rico's roughnecks. And they
could do a lot of world building kind of like
show how we got there and how we got to
the democracy and you have to join the military to
become a citizen type deal. That'd be super cool. They could.
There's a lot of lore there.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Total bomb though that he threw in that his daughter
was Chrissy from Stranger Things. I know I never connected that,
but you can see.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Yeah, now that he said that, right, I'm like, holy crap.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Yeah, they look alike.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
This is kind of obvious. And she was really good
in that too.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
Well, she was awesome.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
You u was. Yeah, it was rough, very rough, but
she did a phenomenal job.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
So imagine her in a TV series with her dad.
He's Rico, She's Little Rico.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
Little Rico, General, Little Rico.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
R legitda Trico.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
There you go. That'd be kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
I think. So I should be the writer.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
Get on it. You got the dude, we can hand
deliver the script to ve Yeah, to Casper, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
You're gonna be friends with Casper. I'm not for a week.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
I'm gonna go down there. I'm gonna I'm gonna ask
him to be my friend on on Steam and if
he accept someone a message him say can I give
you a shirt? And Unfiltered Union shirt and if he
says yes, I'm gonna bring it to him. I'm serious.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Here, you can meet at the theater.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
Yeah, I'll bring it to him. I'll be like, look, man,
I bought tickets, I got his shirt. Let's be friends.
I gotta be friends with Johnny Rico.
Speaker 2 (28:03):
Okay, fangirl, I know it's so bad.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
