Meditate with Tia is a resource for both beginner and experienced meditators to access guided meditations, tips, resources, and inspiration for practice. Every week, I will share a guided meditation in both written and audio format, as well as a brief mindfulness talk to inspire your practice. Seeing as life is the practice, topics most aligned with my life will also be weaved in with the mindfulness teachings such as creativity, art, relationships, nature, exploration and motherhood. I have been practicing meditation and mindfulness since 2016 and am currently in my final year of graduate school for mindfulness studies. This type of inner inquiry is similar to a personal science experiment where one goes inward and explores the nature of their wandering mind to gain insight. Therefore, this podcast/Substack will never be giving, “I have all of the wisdom, let me tell you what to do.” Instead, my intention is for this space to feel grounding, warm, welcoming, gentle and serve as a loving reminder of the wisdom that is already within you.
Use this guided meditation to help calm the nervous system, reframe anxious thoughts and practice loving kindness towards oneself. This guided meditation is a visualization to help you nurture your inner child by adopting the view of a wise being from a porch swing. Inspired by a piece of prose from my book Nurture: poems from motherhood.
Creativity is a way of life for me. It’s prioritizing habits and environments that foster creativity, doing everything in my power to make space to create, staying open to ideas and being grateful when they come. It’s finding new ways to create, seeking out the creative process in daily tasks and noticing art in everyday moments. It’s returning to awareness of the magnificence of human creative intelligenc...

Find a comfortable position, sitting or lying down. Closing down the eyes, beginning to drop into the body.
Becoming aware of sensations of contact points of your body to the chair or ground.
Using this time to get out of our heads and into our bodies. A time to cultivate positive en...
When I think back to ten years ago, it makes sense that meditation practice offered relief when I felt at war with my own mind. It was a taste of an entirely different way of being. I did not have to fight the thoughts—I could surrender to what was arising, watch them, release judgment, accept them, let them pass and find refuge in the present moment.
This meditation is really the foundation of meditation ...
