Vän eller ovän så är det samma ursprungliga gudomliga liv som finns i varje människa. Men vi väljer att styra det livet åt olika håll beroende på vad vi låter oss påverkas av. Det är bety-delsen av att ”solen går upp över [både] onda och goda”.
På vår vandring genom livet är vi ibland på rätt spår, ibland på fel, och vi ska lära oss att se var vi är. Tänk på ”ovän” i texten som ett dåligt tillstånd som både vi och andra kan vara i då och då. Om vi själva vill bli älskade när vi är i våra dåliga tillstånd, är det vår skyldighet att vara likadana mot andra, när de är ”ovänner”. Precis som vi behöver hjälp att ändra riktning behöver de sådan hjälp.
