Welcome to today's episode of Queer PoliFaith! Today, we are talking about the case US v. Skrmetti, in which the Supreme Court decided that states are allowed to outlaw or restrict gender affirming care for transgender children. The decision rested on sophistry, which is something we spend a lot of time going over.
The other cases are Riley v. Bondi (an immigration case) and Stanley v. Sanford (a disability rights case that gets really complicated). I don't spend as much time on either of these as usual because both cases are more complex than most of the other cases we look at briefly.
Our next episode will be on October 9 and will be about Glossip v. Oklahoma.
