The Seattle Seahawks are set to face the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday this week in a preseason showdown. The new coach is facing the former coach for the first time. Sure, it's only preseason, but is it possible to have a statement win before the regular season even starts? We talk about what we'd have to see for our Seahawks to come out and make a statement early on, even when the starters aren't going to be playing.
With Coach Mike Macdonald announcing that starters won't be playing, it does bring up some questions. Is it veterans who have started previously. Would there be any chance that a rookie like Grey Zabel wouldn't at least get some preseason reps in considering the jump in competition that he's looking to make? Are there other potential battles that we're interested in (even if it's on the other team). We discuss a few different storylines going into this week's matchup with the Raiders.
