Jeremiah 29:11-13

ESV (English Standard Version)

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart."

NLT (New Living Translation)

"For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me."

NIV (New International Version)

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

Ask yourself

"In what ways can I recognize and embrace the purpose and potential of my present location?"

Reflect

  • Consider the plans God has for you and the future and hope promised in Jeremiah 29:11-13.
  • Think about how you can seek the welfare of your city and make a positive impact right where you are.
  • Meditate on the ways God has placed you in your current environment for a reason and how you can thrive in it.

Engage

  • Identify one way you can make a positive impact in your current environment.
  • It could be as simple as smiling and being friendly to your neighbors or volunteering your time in the community.
  • Reach out to someone who feels uprooted or misplaced and offer them encouragement and support.

Pray

  1. Pray for a deeper understanding and appreciation of where God has placed you, recognizing His hand at work in your surroundings.
  2. Ask God to open doors for you to serve and make a difference within your community that reflects His love.
  3. Seek personal transformation so that your heart may become more aligned with God's purpose for you right where you are.
