In this episdoe of Sliding Through Dimensions, we devle into Sliders Season 2, Episode 9, "Obsession." The Sliders arrive on an alternate Earth where approximately 10% of the population possesses psychic abilities, leading to a society deeply influenced by clairvoyance and precognition.
Upon arrival, Wade begins experiencing vivid dreams of a mysterious man, who soon manifests in reality as Derek Bond, a powerful psychic and the newly appointed Prime Oracle. Derek reveals that he has been projecting himeself into Wade's dreams and expresses a profound, obsessive interest in her, going so far as to propose marriage.
Meanwhile, Rembrandt and The Professor are arrested under the pretense of a crime they have yet to commit, highlighting the preemptive justice system employed by this world's authorities. As the Sliders navigate this precarious enviroment they must contend with Derek's escalating obsession with Wade and the societal implications of a world governed by psychic predictions.
