Originally deemed to dark for television, this tale found its place in the Sliders comic series as "Sliders Special #1:Narcotica."
In "Narcotica," the Sliders arrive on an alternate earth where drug use is not only legal but also government-mandated. They find themselves in a society where narcotics are intergrated into daily life, with vendors openly selling hallucinogenic substances. The government enforces drug consumption laws, and anternative version of Professor Arturo was a prominent anti-drug protest leader who was allegedly assassinated. As the Sliders navigate this world, they encounter a resistance movement led by Timothy Leary and must decide weather to aid in the fight aginst oppression or focus on escaping before Rembrandt is forcibly drugged at a Toxification center.
