Check out my interview with DJ Luisa, followed by one of her awesome mixes! We talk about the electronic music scene in El Paso, and her current projects Ask A Freak, a collective and dance party, and Beanalog (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR_hBgiInb4&t=17s), a workshop where people bring all types of electronic equipment and jam out as they learn from each other. We also talk about the new studio that she and her fellow Beanalog co-creators recently opened. You can read a transcript of the podcast here: https://megsnewmusicblog.wordpress.com/2020/03/26/transcript-of-podcast-with-dj-luisa/ Louisa released her first EP as a producer in 2015 on the Border Beats Recordings label, and a track with the Always Moving People label in 2016 under the alias Luisa N. As a DJ, Luisa has shared the booth with Hito, Lazaro Casanova, Italoboys, Alex Young, Ryan Crosson, Kim Ann Foxman, John Acquaviva, and Pirupa, to name a few. Defining Luisa's style is difficult because she is open to any sound, style, or musical genre. Luisa likes to play from techno, disco, jazz, experimental to house. Boysober

Boysober

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
