First things first, organization is key.
Start with a wedding checklist to breakdown your tasks into manageable steps.
Now, whether you use a digital planner,an app, or a good old fashioned
(04:05):
notebook, having a clear plan is crucial.
It keeps everything on track.
Another life saver, a realistic timeline.
Don't try and squeeze everythinginto four or five hours.
Give yourself full buffertime for unexpected hiccups.
Trust me, last minute scramblingaround is no fun on your wedding day.
(04:29):
Sal and I advise all our couples tofinalize your major decisions early, like
booking vendors and setting a budget.
Those should be done early.
And then, As you get closer to thewedding, at least a month before or so,
do those final checks, so that you havethat realistic timeline all scrunched
(04:50):
together before the wedding day.
Pro tip!
Delegate.
You don't have to do everything.
Assign small tasks to your weddingparty or family members you can trust,
so you can focus on the big picture.
Just a reminder.

So, something that is reallyessential is having the right team.
It can make all the difference.
You want vendors who are not onlyskilled, but also are a joy to work with.
This is so important.
Read reviews, ask for recommendations, and most importantly, trust your gut.
If a vendor makes you feel uneasy.
(05:35):
Move on.
That's the ultimate red flag.
Have you considered how much stress yourvendors can actually take off your plate?
The right people could ease things becausethey're gonna help explain things in easy
english, so you'll know what you have todo and make things very simple for you.
As a DJ and wedding officiant, Ialways tell couples their vendors
(05:55):
should reduce stress, not add to it.
That's why we emphasize clearcommunication, detailed timelines,
and making sure every detailis covered before the big day.
I have a pro tip for you.
Book early.
Great vendors get snatched up quickly, especially in peak wedding seasons.
We hear couples all the time, "Oh,we're not going to get married for
(06:16):
another year from now. We have plentyof time." That is really not true.
There are some vendors whoactually get booked a year and
a half to two years in advance.
So if you have one of thosehot dates, you could lose out.
So book early.
It's the best thing.
So we've just explained a coupleof ways to conquer wedding stress.
Essential tips that you need, such as getting organized and
(06:38):
picking the right vendor team.
Coming up next, expect theunexpected and enjoy your day.

It's Wedding Tip Wednesday time.
Marry someone who has a differentfavorite cereal than you, so
they won't eat all of yours.
Ha-ha!
That's so true.
(07:20):
On today's Wedding Tip Wednesday, it'sall about those rules and regulations.
When you're at town hall getting yourmarriage license, stop in at the town
clerk's office and check to see if anyrules and regulations have been updated or
enacted related to your wedding ceremonylocation and wedding reception location.
(07:43):
This is so important if you'rehaving a backyard wedding in
a residential neighborhood.
Don't let a little unknown townordinance ruin your big day.
And that's another weddingtip from Sal and Sam.

Welcome back to our discussionabout how to conquer wedding stress.
Essential tips you need to know now.
I'm Sam from Atmosphere Productions.
I'm Sal from After HoursEvents, New England.
(09:29):
We've already discussedabout getting organized and
picking the right vendor team.
Now let's move on.
Here's one of my favorite catchphrases.
" Expect the unexpected" from BigBrother because that's what you have
to do when you're planning a wedding.
No matter how much planning you do, expectthings to go wrong or something to happen.
(09:51):
There is no such thingas the perfect wedding.
Maybe the weather shifts,a vendor runs late.
Or Uncle Joe suddenly decides hewants to make an impromptu toast.
Stay flexible and go with the flow.
You've hired professionals, hopefullygood professionals, who can take care of
(10:11):
all of these little things that happen.
How about a backup plan?
If you've hired great professionals, alsothey should have thought of a backup plan.
A great way to easy stress is to hire anexperienced "day of coordinator." Yes,
they do exist and they are very popular.
Or you can work withvendors who know each other.
(10:34):
That's what a wedding vendor team is.
They all work together becausethey've worked together in the past.
For example, Sal and I,we don't just play music.
We quarterback the entire receptionto make sure everything runs smoothly.
Here's a pro tip for you.
Have a wedding emergency kit.
(10:56):
This is something that is so crucial.
Include essential items.
Some of those things couldbe stain removers, safety
pins, band aids, breath mints.
Those are the things that youcan have in a bathroom, so that
if something goes wrong, like aneedle and thread, for instance,
somebody can just sew something up.
They don't have to run homeand leave your wedding.
(11:19):
All of those emergency kit itemsshould be put into one little basket.
It's really cheap.
Go to a dollar store andfind all those things.
You'll thank me later.
Alright couples, I do want to remindyou of something that's very important.
Keep in mind.
This is your wedding day,so don't forget to enjoy it.
It's easy to get caught up in thedetails, but the most important
(11:40):
thing is celebrating your lovewith the people who matter most.
How do you want to remember your day?
That's very important, so that'show you want to kind of plan.
How do you want it to be at the end andyou're remembering it in the best light?
Take moments to step back and soak it in.
Sam and I talk about this all thetime, taking five minutes here, 10
minutes here, just to kind of relax.
(12:03):
Think about what the day is allabout and just enjoy and soak it in.
Whether it's a private last dance atthe end of the night, a quiet moment
together after the ceremony, or justfeeling the energy of the dance floor.
These are memories you'll cherish forever.
And now here's a pro tip for you.
Let go of perfection.
(12:24):
No one will remember the napkinsweren't folded just right.
You know, I was at a wedding oncewhere the mother of the bride looked
at the cake and said, "Oh, the ribbonon the cake is the wrong color."
And she focused on that so much.
She brought the bride in.
They focused even harder.
And I said look it is the right color.
They said "NO!" I peeled it away.
Turns out when the ribbon is by itself,it was the proper color but when it got
(12:48):
added to the cake it changed the color.
And they made that a big deal.
They almost ruined a day, over ribbons.
Don't Don't sweat the small stuff.
Let it roll off your back.
And just have a great time.
Cause this is what guests are going toremember how they felt at your wedding.
Focus on the joy and everythingelse will fall into place.
(13:09):
Great stuff there, Sal.
Now, keep in mind these items.
Number one.
Keep everything organized.
Number two, hire the right vendor team.
Number three, expect the unexpected.
Number four, have a plan B and C.And number five, never, never forget
(13:36):
that this is your day and enjoy it.
We hope these tips help youhave a stress less wedding and
enjoy your wedding journey more.
