Speaker 1 (00:05):
Jai Sadama, everyone.
This is Sadhvi Sadheli Sri,here with my spiritual teacher
and guru, acharya Sri Yogish, for the 2023 Paryushan series of
Acharya Sri's podcast.
Acharya Sri is a respected, enlightened one who has helped
thousands of souls progress ontheir spiritual path and totally
transform.
Paryushan is an eight-daycelebration of the soul,
dedicated to reflection, fastingand spiritual learning.
(00:28):
Welcome to all of our newlisteners and thank you for
tuning in Paryushan thespiritual celebration is a sixth
day today.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
It's very important.
Every day is important.
Actually, if you ask me, everyday has to be Paryushan.
Think about the celebrationwhich is real celebration, about
your soul, the self, because wetry to know everything except
(00:59):
the soul and that's why we arefail.
Our situation is like that Afrog you catch the frog and you
place that frog on the goldenchair.
You know what it will do itwill jump down and he will go to
(01:23):
the mud again.
Our situation, our thinking, islike that always.
Yes, every day has to beParyushan.
Celebration means soulcelebration.
(01:45):
We try to know everything else,we don't try to know our souls,
and that is the dilemma.
We live in this illusion.
(02:05):
In Uttaradhyam Sutra, lastteachings of Mahabharata, it is
I was reading there one GathaEgam jiye jiya pancha, pancha
jiye jiya dasa dasaha ujinittanang savsattun jina maham,
(02:26):
that if you win over one, youwin over five.
If you win over five, you winover ten, and when you win over
ten, you win over all enemies.
So you need to win over onefirst.
(02:48):
What is that one?
Your mind, your mind iswondering either and either here
and there it doesn't sitsilently A baby when it is
little bit taking steps, littlebit walking, begin to walk.
(03:13):
Couple of months later runs andruns and runs.
All day, running, new learning.
The mother has to just grab tofeed the baby, but it runs, runs
around, runs around.
Mind is like that.
Mind is running around, never, never stops.
(03:37):
Everything else stops exceptmind.
Mind is, if you want to goreally in meditative state, you
have to work on your mind.
We try to work everything elseexcept mind.
And the last teaching ofMahavira, what he said egam jiya
(04:02):
jiya panj, that if you win overone thing, one, your mind, jiya
panj, you can win over five.
What is one is mind, and fourmore.
You can win over your anger, you can win over your ego, you
(04:25):
can win over your deceitfulness, you can win over your
greediness.
These four can be winautomatically, you will win.
Now it is a five, you win onlyone and you have won five.
(04:48):
Panj, jiya jiya das.
If you win over five, you canwin over ten.
What is five more?
Your senses.
First senses is touch, taste, smells, sight and hearing.
(05:14):
These are the five senses andthese are the main trouble.
We are wondering, we are movinginto the senses, the senses.
You will be surprised thatsenses are outsider.
They always take you outside.
(05:37):
They don't want to take youinside, they are outer, they are
not insider.
Can you believe if your nosebegan to smell inside, can you
stand yourself?
It is outside, it brings allthe smell from outside.
(06:01):
So are your eyes.
Can you believe?
The person who is not born withthe eyes cannot indulge in too
much bad activities at all.
If you read the survey, in thewhole world mostly people they
(06:24):
commit suicide who have eyes theblind person can you read
anytime that the blind personcommitted suicide Doesn't have
eyes.
Eyes is the main problem.
It brings lot of negativity andbad activities in your mind.
(06:48):
We blame others, blame youreyes first.
No wonder All meditators, including Mahavira, buddha, rama
Krishna, whomever you name it,socrates, aristotle, lao Tzu in
China, they all said close youreyes.
(07:12):
And if you close your eyes youwill be surprised.
Once you closed your eyes, youare disconnected from the world.
So you are in your own world.
Bodhidharma, well-known, aBuddhist monk, entered to China.
(07:32):
His personality is robust, hisheight tall, his eyes glowing
eyes, his face glowing.
He is a Chinese king, the mainking.
He heard about him.
(07:54):
He wanted to visit him.
That my mind is very wavering.
My mind is here and therealways.
Maybe he will settle my mind.
He visited him.
All the other people werevisiting too.
He didn't treat King as a kingFor the monk.
(08:19):
Everyone has to be same.
He asked question.
My mind is very wavering, mymind is very disturbing.
I cannot really sleep, even.
It's difficult Always going on,continue.
(08:40):
What do I do?
Okay, I can teach you.
You come tomorrow, 4 am, earlyin the morning.
Okay, sir, I welcome.
If somebody is willing to do,they will not think about 4 am.
(09:04):
They will be ready anytime.
If somebody really wants tohelp themselves, they will not
take care of.
Somebody is teaching at night,or somebody is teaching during
the day, or somebody is teachingin the forest, or somebody is
(09:24):
teaching in the university.
Now, they are learners, theyreally want to learn it and if
you want to learn, you can learnfrom anywhere.
Bodhidharma.
When he was leaving the king,he said don't forget to bring
(09:49):
your mind with you.
He said, okay, all right, hewent.
He had a dinner.
He talked to his queen or wiveslooking.
They used to have a likeseveral kind of a marriage.
(10:13):
He said don't disturb me, I amgoing to learn something special
tomorrow morning.
I want to be left alone.
Okay.
As soon as he went to the bed,he began to think I think he,
this Bodhidharma, is just famous.
(10:35):
He doesn't know anything, abcabout it.
Why did he say bring your mindwith you, don't forget.
Hey, my mind is always with me.
Maybe he's crazy and insane.
I'm not going to go.
He decided I am not going to go.
(10:57):
He was ready in a moment.
Next moment he's not ready.
And that's what is happening.
Something you hear.
Suddenly you get inspired Iwant to do it, I want to do it
Right.
And next moment you don't wantto do it.
(11:18):
When trouble, we want to do it.
When we are not in trouble, wedon't want to do it.
A man climbed to the palm tree.
There was a lot of roots, dates.
They were ripe in kind of.
He wanted to get it.
And to climbing on the palm tree, it is easy, but coming down is
(11:44):
very difficult because theirleaves on the palm tree they are
standing up and they're kind ofthorn.
It's very difficult to comedown, climbing up.
He says he climbed up and hegot the fruit.
(12:04):
He enjoyed it when he startedcoming down.
He loved that Because palm treeis very tall.
He said, wow, if little mistakeI am going to fall down.
(12:24):
Whatever.
He believed in trouble now thatGod, if you save me today and
let me go down, I will go toyour temple and I will just do
(12:47):
almost hundred dollars worthsweet dessert.
I will offer you, please, letme go down.
Trouble, trouble makes youthink that you are in trouble
now.
Then he hardly went a couple ofsteps down.
He saw again it is too far togo down.
(13:09):
He believed I think the Ganeshais a obstacle removed.
He said, ganesha, if you let medown a little bit today, help
me, today I am going to go toyour temple and give you hundred
dollars sweet dessert.
He got little confidence.
(13:32):
He went a couple of more stepsdown but it was still so far.
Whomever, he believed he kepttying all the money with them.
Now there is two yard left andwhen two yard left, he jumped
and he fell down deliberately.
(13:54):
He said everybody, they didn'thelp me.
Look, I fell down Next momenteverything is forgotten.
That's what people's mind is.
He kept changing his side leftto right.
(14:15):
He couldn't fall asleep.
Midnight, 2 am, 3 am.
I am not going to go.
I am not going to go.
He couldn't fall asleep.
4 am he suddenly jumped out.
But he is robust, he is tall, his face is glowing, maybe he
knows.
He jumped out from the bed andhe left.
(14:38):
He went there.
Bodhidharma was sitting with thebig staff.
He got little scared but hewent and Bodhidharma asked
simply did you bring your mindwith you?
Say are you insane?
My mind is always with me,that's okay.
(15:01):
Then show me.
Then I said I cannot show you,but it is inside.
All right, sit down here.
He sat down that, if it isinside, find out where it is
(15:23):
Right.
He closed his eyes.
When he closed his eyes, he isasking Bodhidharma, did you find
it?
No, I am trying, but I cannotfind it.
But you said you brought withyou Right, yeah, but now I
(15:46):
cannot find it.
You know why you cannot find it.
I settle it down.
Whenever you get disturbed, whenever you are in trouble,
whenever you are bothered byyour mind, you just close your
eyes and look at it inside andyou cannot find it.
(16:11):
You will not be in trouble.
The mind is the main thing.
If you can win over the mind, you can settle it.
Win over means you come it down, you settle it fully and your
meditation will begin.
But it won't begin unless youwin over it.
(16:33):
Your anger on the way, your egoon the way, your deceitfulness,
illusion on the way, yourgreediness on the way, these
four we call it Kishaya, thesefour Kishayas.
If they are gone from your life, I guarantee you you are the
(16:58):
best person on the earth.
These are the ones who arebothering you.
But your five senses is themain trouble and they are outer,
they are outsider.
Eyes bring everything fromoutside.
(17:18):
Can you believe?
If you don't have eyes, youwill be less and less and less
distracted.
You will not collect so manyjunk because of eyes.
You collect it.
You never know and I guaranteeyou, whatever you collect, after
(17:44):
a while it loses its value.
A king began to think I am goingto win over other king.
He has a big castle, big palace, he is a strong king.
He win over when he began tolive in that palace.
(18:06):
After a while it becomessmaller, because desires never
end.
Desires say I wish I have abigger than this, then he will
start searching.
It never ends your greediness, all these roots inside of your
(18:34):
senses, is greediness.
If this root is removed fromthe human life, that human is a
precious human.
That person is the mostprecious person on the earth
Eyes.
They collected all these junk.
(18:56):
They keep collecting it and itsloses its value after a while.
You live in the palaces.
It becomes smaller after awhile.
It has no value after a while.
It is saying in India that thethings which are far away, they
(19:20):
look beautiful.
Once you are into it it losesits value.
I guarantee you, you begin tolive anywhere, it loses its
value.
It becomes smaller.
After a while it is not thesame, because from the far it
(19:44):
seems better From the far.
Once you are into it, it losesits value.
That's what I tell people.
Go into it fully, 100%.
Can you believe?
If you have eaten your foodcarefully, with awareness, it
(20:11):
will lose its value.
One little boy, he was eatingall the time, all the time
dessert, sweet chocolate, and hebegan to lose its teeth.
(20:34):
If you eat too much sugar, youknow bacteria grows after 30
minutes.
As soon as you eat sugar, yourbacteria will be born into your.
Because sugar it creates thatkind of situation.
(20:55):
Bacteria began to grow intoyour teeth.
That's why, if you eat sugar,if you eat dessert, I suggest
you eat before your food Becausesalt doesn't let bacteria grow.
But in Go To India and I wasreading I think they are big in
(21:22):
illusion.
I was reading in Sanskrit book.
They say when you eat your food, lunch or dinner, madhura and
Samapya that eat dessert in theend.
I wonder sometimes why Gandhilost all of his teeth.
Did you see Gandhi's picture?
(21:44):
No teeth, poor guy.
Why he was born in Gujarat andGujarati people what they do.
Mostly in the end they eatdessert.
Good Good is raw sugar and hecouldn't stop it.
(22:05):
He lost all of his teethBecause once you eat sugar you
get addicted to it and addictionit attacks on your teeth unless
you clean it right away.
It's a different story, right,if you brush right away.
(22:26):
That's what we are into.
Sense is too much Outsiders.
All these material, all theseparticles, sweet or salt or
spicy, they are outsider and itbrings in your life.
All this collection.
No, we go crazy for the.
(22:50):
No matter what, any fragrance, any like people, they have some
kind of scent.
What do you call that?
Perfume, perfume, perfume.
They call scent in in Arabiclanguage.
(23:11):
No matter how much lies on yourlife scent.
But life is not permanent.
It is never permanent.
No matter how much scent youuse, it is going to slip from
your hand, your whole body touch.
(23:31):
We are into it always.
I was reading in one storyabout into the Uttaradha Sutra
last teaching.
So Maavir One is the mostfamous king.
His name was Bhimsaar.
(23:52):
Also, his other name was ShreyaNik.
Shreya Nik's name is mostpopular in Jains and Buddhist
texts, not in Hindu texts, because Jain and Buddhist they
are similar almost, both Buddhaand Maavira.
(24:19):
They were born into the royalfamily and mostly Buddhists.
They are not familiar with it,but Indian history knows it.
They were a little real, farrelative, not cousins, but
little further relative.
And you know kings, those daysthey used to fight each other.
(24:41):
Right Always used to fight.
And they both renounced.
Maavira renounced the kingdom, buddha renounced the kingdom.
They become a Vegemonde.
They entered to the forest.
They wanted to find the realthing which is hidden inside of
(25:01):
Right, they both.
And that's why in Buddhisttexts and read the Jain texts
they have the similar storiesabout Bhimsaar Shreya Nik.
(25:21):
They call it Shreya Nik.
One day Shreya Nik was outsideof his capital, he was into his
garden and there was.
Maavira was staying there thosedays and other monks maybe,
(25:41):
buddhists, jains, all there.
They used to renounce.
They are the only monks.
They renounced most ofeverything.
That was their idea To renounceeverything.
So we will renounce.
You don't have any stress, tension, anything to take care
of except yourself.
(26:03):
Right.
One young fellow.
He became a monk.
When he was wandering into thebig garden miles and miles long,
under one tree, he saw a youngfellow who became recently a
(26:23):
monk.
He was meditating under thetree.
His name was Anathi.
He got popular as Anathi Muni.
Anathi means there is no one tohelp him, helpless, no one
there to protect him, no onethere to care about him.
(26:50):
Nobody can do anything abouthim.
He got popular by this nameAnathi Muni.
Muni means a monk.
Anathi Muni he became.
He went there.
When he opened his eyes, heasked, he paid respect to him
(27:16):
and he asked that you are young, you are handsome.
It seems like you are verystrong.
In this young age.
Usually people, they enjoy theworld.
(27:40):
Get married, enjoy, earn money,enjoy.
Why did he become a monk?
He asked him questions.
He simply answered that I don'thave anyone my guardian, my
(28:06):
protector to help me.
I am really Anath.
Anath means orphan, kind ofAnath means orphan, if you
translate very close word, butnot fully.
It doesn't bring the wholemeaning of it, but it's closest
(28:29):
orphan.
I am orphan, orphan, but youlook so handsome.
I can be your guardian, I canbe your protector.
I am a king, I can take care ofyou.
Let's go with me.
He said can I tell you thelittle truth?
(28:56):
Monks, they don't open theirmouth, but when they open they
tell the truth, yes, that youare orphan by yourself.
You will take care of me.
You are even orphan yourself, that I am orphan.
(29:17):
I am a king of this, all thisbiggest kingdom.
They don't be mistaken, I amcoming from the Koshami.
Koshami was a very prosperousand city-like business center
(29:39):
those days, very rich city.
I was born there.
I was born in a very richfamily.
He said, suddenly, one day myeyes, something happened, it
began to burn and it was burningso badly.
(30:05):
I cannot tolerate that.
And it happened suddenly.
I was perfectly okay and myfather, mother, full of money.
They were just spending moneylike water on me.
And all the doctors, all thevethas, whatever they know it,
(30:28):
they try one day, two days, fewdays, but that pain doesn't go
away, it increases even more.
I was so restless I tried.
My parents are my guards here.
(30:48):
They will take care of me, butthey think nobody could help me.
They tried.
It's not.
They didn't try.
Whatever they can do, they canspend the money on me, but they
(31:08):
couldn't take my pain away.
It's becoming so dense at nightI cannot sleep few nights with
the pain.
And suddenly something enteredinto my mind.
I thought, and that thoughtchanged whole of my life.
(31:31):
I thought in the midnight withthe pain that if this, my pain
will go away Somehow.
I wanted to be on the real path.
I was familiar with monks.
(31:54):
Then I will leave it.
And as soon as this thoughtentered into my mind, it entered
very deeply and it changed mywhole structure.
My pain disappeared and earlyin the morning I was very
healthy and I went to my parentsand they were very happy that I
(32:22):
want your permission to becomea monk, that what you were
suffering, that, yes, thisthought entered into my mind
last night and say if this pain,an intolerable pain, disappears
, I want to be on the path.
(32:43):
I will renounce everything.
They gave him a lot of advice.
It's a very difficult path.
Nobody will be there to takecare.
You have to go back the food.
Even you are in the richestfamily.
(33:07):
He said this is what I thought, and pain disappeared.
That, king, when I was in pain, nobody can help me.
That's what I am a orphan.
I'm not a orphan.
(33:28):
What do you think?
I am a orphan because nobodycould have helped me.
And if something happened toyou, who will going to help you?
You are already orphan.
Can you do it?
If I am in the pain, can youtake away my pain?
That first be your own.
(33:56):
Be your own Swami.
Nobody is there, swami.
If you want to be Swami owneror your own protector, be your
own helper, be a Swami.
You are not even Swami.
You think you are Right?
So that is there.
(34:19):
Sometimes it can happen in anysituation.
It can happen with anyone.
It happened with the Buddha too, and Buddha suddenly left.
Why did it happen?
Because his king, his father, had only one child and somebody
(34:44):
predicted I don't know, I don'tknow why they predicted the
father, other people's life, predicted someone that as soon
as he will going to be young, heis going to leave, right, he is
going to leave the kingdom.
He came, thought Shuddhodana,his name.
(35:07):
Shuddhodana began to think thatif I give him lot of everything
luxuries, he might get involvedin it.
He arranged for him four kindsof garden One for the spring,
(35:27):
one for the autumn, one for thewinter, one for the summer, one
for the rain.
And he sent all these boughtyoung girls around him all the
time.
And he ordered the gardener ifa leaf becomes even yellow
(35:53):
before he wakes up, everythinghas to be removed, everything
has to be green, garden fully.
He gave him so much luxury.
Hundreds of young girls aroundhim, always.
You know when you put anyoneinto the luxurious things, those
(36:15):
luxuries will go away one day.
One day he got fed up.
He became allergic of it.
A little boy, he used to eatlot of chocolate.
One day he took his son to themarket and he said chocolate,
(36:39):
whatever the boxes were there inthe market or in that mall, he
got all the boxes.
He said eat, it is yours.
When he began to eat, you knowwhat is going to happen.
After few days he became soallergic of it he didn't want to
(37:03):
see even the box of thechocolate.
Why?
Because allergic Buddha becameallergic.
He became so much allergic, toomuch.
Luxuries around.
Luxuries lose the value.
He asked his charioteer.
Let's go to walk around.
(37:25):
Prepare your chariot.
He sent the message that hewants to go out.
What do I do Then?
Wait couple hours, I can cleareverything His father ordered.
Nobody goes, Nobody walk there, any old person.
(37:49):
Everyone has to be young, everywhere has to be flowers,
everywhere has to be everythingclean.
He ordered Channa.
His name was Channa.
Channa is driving the chariot.
And Gautama, his name was notBuddha, his name was Siddhartha.
(38:15):
Siddhartha was sitting 16 yearsold, and when he was going
outside of the he wanted to see.
They have to cross the littlevillage.
And it was.
Everything was decorated,except by mistake.
(38:37):
One old man was walking and hestopped.
He never saw an old man in hislife.
Can you believe what happened?
He asked the Channa that who isthis fellow?
My Majesty is an old man.
(39:01):
That, what is old man?
Because he never saw the oldman.
And it is going to happen ifyou don't see anything.
What is going to happen?
That's what I said Go throughall ups and downs in your life
If you.
His father did the big mistake.
(39:23):
He wanted to keep his son intothe kingdom, but he did big
mistake.
He put him into the mostluxurious stuff and he got
allergic of it.
He saw the old man.
He said, channa, tell me, thetruth Is, everybody gets old.
Oh yes, my master, everybodygets old.
(39:46):
You will get old one day.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
Oh, yes, I will get
old.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
What about me?
All right, I am going to tellyou the truth.
You will going to get old too.
Then take the chariot back.
That was enough to wake him up.
He went back.
He began to think about it I amgoing to get old.
(40:12):
I am going to get old.
I have to walk with the stick.
He couldn't sleep.
He's not into the girls anymore.
He's not into the luxuriesanymore.
He's all thoughts,one-pointedness.
That is called meditation.
It happened.
(40:33):
Naturally he's thinking aboutone day, two days, three days.
He sent the message he's notinto himself.
Seems like when somebody isawakened, people think he's not
into himself.
Right?
His father got a little worried.
(40:55):
He said don't take him anywhere.
It's better let him be there.
But after a week again he saidI want to go out.
Prepare, get ready.
He sent the message again tothe king that your son was to go
out.
Wait, he ordered not anything.
(41:20):
Distraction has to be on theway Wherever he goes.
But there was one person died.
They were taking the dead body.
That's in India, what they do.
That is not.
They don't take the dead bodyin the car.
(41:41):
People take it on theirshoulders and they keep changing
everyone and they think this isthe best thing that we can take
to this person into the wherethe funeral place is that we did
help him a little bit.
Everyone, that is their culture.
(42:04):
And they were going dead, bodyon the top and they were
reciting some kind of mantrasand suddenly stop the chariot.
Why they are singing thesemantras?
Why they telling is Ram NaamSatya, the name of the God, is
(42:30):
true?
Hey, if the name of the Ram istrue, why it is only on that?
One person is died right Before?
No, but they do it.
He asked what is happening here?
(42:52):
Chandrasekhar, by majesty, yousaw that old man that one week
ago he died.
What do you mean?
He died.
What is die?
Means he was not familiar withit.
(43:13):
King didn't allow him to do,get the knowledge at all.
That's what it happens.
Suddenly.
Die means now he's gone, hisbody is dead, he cannot see, he
cannot hear, he cannot doanything.
Now, oh, shana it.
(43:36):
Everybody dies.
Yes, my master, everybody dies.
You will die too one day.
Yes, I will die.
What about me, my majesty?
I cannot say now, you will dietoo.
Take the chariot back.
That was enough for him torenounce.
(43:59):
And those people, when they havethis idea, when they get fully
allergic everything.
They cannot go that directionanymore, because it happened
100% with Mahavira and Buddhaand they will not get distracted
(44:22):
at all.
Why?
Because they become so allergic, everything and allergic.
We call it Viragya, virakti.
That's what they call it,virakti.
Virakti means person becomeallergic.
Allergic means now they willnot go in that direction at all.
(44:47):
If somebody is fed up witheating chocolate, they don't
want to see even chocolate,right?
I don't know how Gandhi wasstill eating.
He lost his all teeth.
I'm telling you, be carefulwhat you eat, or clean your
(45:08):
teeth brush your teeth if youeat too much sweet.
Otherwise you will be a Gandhiagain.
You never know what happenssuddenly and when it is your
time to wake up.
But mind is the main issue.
(45:30):
After that four Kishayas, afterthat five senses.
If you win over all these ten, dasa hau jinnit tanang, if you
win over ten Now, mahavira, heis last teaching.
He gives guarantee, sav sattunjina maham, that you will win
(45:52):
over all the enemies of yours.
Only you have to take care often.
If you can win over ten, hegives you guarantee that you can
win over any other enemies.
They are not strong enough.
(46:12):
These are the strong enoughOnly your senses, your Kishayas
angry, good, seedful andgreediness and your mind.
These are the ten enemies.
Really, if somebody, all ofthem, they are under their
(46:35):
control.
Right, it means that person cancontrol all the other enemies.
And Mahavira said next time josahasab sahasanam sanga mein
dujiye jye.
That the person who have wonover 100,000 soldiers in the
(47:02):
battlefield Suppose he won thebattle after cutting the head of
100,000 soldiers in thebattlefield Jo sahasam sahasanam
sanga mein dujiye jye.
Egam jina japanam esa se parmojav.
That I don't tell them he isthe winner.
(47:25):
Who is the real winner?
He said who won?
Over 100,000 of soldiers, bigarmy.
Mahavira said that I cannottell him a winner.
But he said egam jina japanam, the person who has won over the
(47:53):
self.
Esa se par mojav.
That is the biggest victory ofthe person.
That's what Buddha left.
Siddhartha left in the forestto find out what is secret
(48:14):
behind who dies, who gets sold.
And he left Everybody can liveOnce it clicks.
But if it doesn't click, theykeep wandering in here, there,
(48:35):
here, there.
They are never going to winover.
If you want to enter meditation, you have to go through little
bit.
Think.
I am going to tell you howmeditation can happen.
One Sufi saint, his name wasKhyat.
(48:57):
Khyat was walking with hislittle disciple, young fellow.
Wherever he goes, he willfollow him.
Everywhere they have to go.
They have to cross the forest, then they have to go to the
other city.
But it was evening, sun wassetting down and the Khyat said
(49:26):
oh, it is time for prayer.
But he said, for rest, we haveto cross wild animal.
We can do later prayer.
No, it is time for prayer.
He sat down, cleaned little bitunder the tree, he went into
the deep prayer.
(49:46):
The deep prayer is just a word,it means meditation.
And suddenly he heard thisfellow young fellow roaring of
his lawyer.
He got so afraid he collectedhis belonging, whatever.
(50:12):
He climbed up the tree andpeople are not familiar.
A lion can climb up to the treetoo.
There is no way to escape fromthe lion.
If you run, he is going to getyou.
If you climb up, he is going toget you.
(50:33):
Only way you can win over thelion if you stand and show you
bigger, bigger, bigger.
And you are not running.
So the lion began to think heis more powerful than me, he is
not afraid of me.
(50:54):
So he might back up.
It is possible.
But if there is no way, thereis no place to.
You can protect yourself fromthe lion, don't run.
He is going to get you beforeeven you die.
(51:15):
And if you climb up, he isgoing to climb up.
That is their instinct.
He was so afraid.
Tree was very like shady lot ofleaves.
He was hiding himself.
(51:36):
The lion came and lion camearound this.
He said okay, my master is gonetoday.
He is going to eat him.
The lion snipped around like adog and after sniffing he went
(51:59):
back.
His prayer was over.
He came down when lion left andnothing happened.
They started walking Suddenlywhen they were walking.
The wild dogs.
They are two kind of dogs wilddog.
(52:20):
They are very strong.
Actually, wild dog can alsokill the lion if they are in the
group.
They are so wild, kind of theone wild dog in front of it he
has a big staff.
He showed the big staff to thewild dog and wild dog ran away.
(52:47):
He got so scared of the bigstaff.
The young fellow said master, Iam confused that you are
confused, that, yeah, I amconfused.
The lion came, you didn't doanything.
I was scared.
(53:08):
I went to Appasaya, you don'tknow, you didn't do anything.
And this little dog came.
I could have taken care of him.
You show him the big staff.
He said hey, there is no needof confusion.
(53:28):
When the lion came, I was withthe God, in the real prayer, in
meditative state, but when thiswild dog came, I am with you.
That's what it is.
(53:52):
We are chasing little dogsbecause destruction we are that.
I am with you.
Speaker 1 (54:05):
I am with you.
Speaker 2 (54:08):
I have to show that.
Now staff to him.
Think about it.
Acharya Bhadrabahu is a verywell known name.
In Jain scripture, bhadrabahuwas the last one who became
(54:30):
enlightened Keval Gyan.
According to the Jain scripture, he went into the
Mahapranadhyana.
That is called Mahapranadhyana.
Mahapranadhyana is a very oldtechnique to enter into that
meditative state and he did thatsadhana.
(54:52):
He did that practice almost 12years and in 12 years he was
left alone, totally in theforest, no shelter, nothing, no
distraction, nothing, no peoplearound him, only his disciple.
(55:16):
Even they were from far away, they were taking care of.
Nobody can go in that direction.
He did Mahapranadhyana.
Mahapranadhyana is a very oldtechnique.
You enter into your prana.
What is your prana?
Because of the prana we arealive.
(55:36):
It is called pranic force, energy I call.
The pranas are very powerful.
Without prana you cannot.
If you enter into your prana, every single thing your prana is
, every single pore is alive, every single cell is alive.
(56:00):
Can you believe if you canenter every single cell?
There are millions of cells.
And if you have ability toenter every single cell, you
enter into the Mahapranadhyanaand Mahapranadhyana.
And he was known to be God'senlightened Badrabahu.
(56:25):
But there is one more name Iwas reading.
His name was AcharyaPushyamitra.
I think this name is in bothBuddhist and Jain scriptures.
Acharya Pushyamitra tried toenter into the Mahapranadhyana.
(56:46):
Mahapranadhyana means thegreatest way, the best way to
enter into your own soul.
And he has many disciples andhe trusted four of his disciples
and among four, one he trustedthe most, that I am doing these
(57:10):
spiritual practices.
I will enter into theMahapranadhyana and no
disturbance, don't disturb metill I come back and don't let
anybody enter here in this area.
He trusted him the most.
I said don't worry, I will letanyone come close to you.
(57:37):
He entered into theMahapranadhyana.
He said if any emergencyhappened by chance, he gave the
technique what to do and I amgoing to tell you how to enter
into the Mahapranadhyana AcharyaPushyamitra.
(58:01):
It happened six months, eightmonths and all of his hundreds
of disciples, hundreds of hismonks and thousands of other
householders.
After six months they want tovisit him, but they cannot find
(58:21):
him.
And when they come close to himall these four monks they stop
them and they begin to thinkthat maybe they killed him.
That's why they don't let usvisit him.
It is a real incident happened.
(58:44):
The rumours spread all over thekingdom King was his devotee too
.
And they complained the king.
They killed the Acharya.
They don't let us go there.
The king went by himself that Iwill take care of this matter.
(59:08):
He went the four monks theytried to stop him.
He said I am a king, I am goingto arrest all of you.
You killed your teacher.
He said no, sir, I don'tbelieve anything.
I want to see him.
He said wait, let me ask hispermission.
(59:32):
The last monk, who was verytrustworthy.
He went to him.
He said if you will not let mevisit him within few minutes, I
am going to kill all of you.
My arm is ready.
You are a killer Emergency.
(59:53):
He went to him.
It was not his time yet, but hegave the technique that if any
emergency happened you cannotcontrol it, you press my big toe
(01:00:15):
underneath, then I will comeback.
He pressed very hard and hecame back and he asked why it
was not.
My sadhana was not completedyet.
That I cannot tell.
(01:00:35):
The king is here.
They think that we killed you.
It is emergency.
Now, why the big toe?
You are not familiar with?
If you are a yogi, if you are ayogi, you will be surprised.
(01:00:59):
Eda, pingala, they are alreadythere.
Eda means moon channel.
Pingala means sun channel.
That's the way we teach peoplePranayama.
Pranayama is breathe with thisor breathe with this, with two
(01:01:22):
channels.
They are already connectedthere when you do it.
Breathe through the Eda andPingala moon channel, sun
channel.
They are already there.
You are all everything you wantto control your anger, control
(01:01:48):
your greediness, control yourillusion, control your confusion
.
Right there.
Third eye is right there.
Darshan kendra, we call itDarshan kendra.
This Darshan means you willbegin to see things.
(01:02:10):
Jyoti kendra, light willsuddenly will happen inside of
you.
That is right there.
That's why I tell people don'tconsider your feet.
They are not worth.
(01:02:33):
They are worth.
Take care of it.
Can you believe?
If somebody lose that big toe, they are losing lot of ability.
That's what in our scripture hesaid if somebody lost a foot or
(01:02:58):
a finger, don't make him a monk.
It doesn't mean that we areracist, because that person is
not able to reach the highestpeak and when it is not able to
reach it, it will create troubleinto your Sangha.
(01:03:19):
That's why they say it not tomake it, because they lost the
real center of the body.
The real center is there.
No wonder, in Indian tradition, when they visit a monk.
Any, they touch their feet.
Why?
Because they know it.
(01:03:44):
There is a biggest energy If wecan get little bit.
They are so selfish Right, theybegin to do this kind of thing
and that tradition is builtthere and it is real.
If it is, somebody is awakened.
(01:04:05):
If you will go close to it, youget affected.
There is a Darshan Kendra, jyoti Kendra, yudha Pingala,
your Medulla, your Ptutri PtutriGland, your Peneal Gland,
(01:04:28):
everything is there.
If your big toe is very healthy, you are very healthy person.
That's why if somebody is notfalling asleep, start pressing
(01:04:49):
the big toe.
That person will fall asleepbecause everything gets relaxed.
Mind is right there, it willget totally relaxed, but people
don't know it.
The person who is inMahapranadhyana that is the way
(01:05:09):
to bring it back.
It is not time yet to pressthat.
And he came back to King Vaisoashamed of him that I trusted.
People Don't trust what isgoing on.
People are blabbermouths butthey say don't trust it.
(01:05:33):
They.
It is the human nature.
They spread the bad words Right.
Instead of trusting themselves, they trust others.
No wonder they are in trouble.
No wonder they don't reach thehighest peak.
You want to enter into theDhyana.
(01:05:58):
There are many, many ways.
I was reading one timeBarnadshah.
You know about Barnadshah, barnadshah, he wrote lot of.
He was on the scripture.
(01:06:19):
He wrote lot of things.
He was a poet writer,barnadshah.
He became very sick one day.
He has a lot of pain in theheart.
He called the doctor.
The doctor came His personaldoctor that I have a pain.
(01:06:41):
He said I know, that's what Iam here.
Then the doctor suddenly fell,collapsed.
I am so thirsty.
Barnadshah was himself in theroom.
He said wow, he is in trouble.
(01:07:02):
He stood up from the bed and hebrought water for him and he
drank.
The doctor and Barnadshah wasserving him.
A doctor, and after drinkingwater he felt so good, doctor.
(01:07:27):
He said are you all right?
Are you all right?
Do you have any pain?
Doctor said to Barnadshah no,no, no, no pain.
Then give my fee.
Where is my fee that yousupposed to give me fee?
(01:07:47):
You are asking me that I heldyou.
I said no, I held you.
I brought water for you.
He said I was pretending therewas the only way to heal you,
that if you get up from your bedyour pain will be gone.
(01:08:12):
Sometimes we just think it is apain.
It is not a pain If we get outfrom.
That's what I suggest a lot ofpeople.
When you feel a feverish body,I will tell person not to lie
down.
Fight with it, maybe one day,not to lie down, no matter how
(01:08:39):
much you feel.
Fight with it.
Maybe one day, if you willfight, it's almost gone.
Extreme fever will be gone, extreme temperature will be gone
.
Maybe you can rest after thatlittle bit.
So you rest couple of days, that's it, it's gone.
But as soon as we think, oh, Ihave a temperature, we lie down.
(01:09:04):
It is going to get you more.
Learn from Bernard Shaw'sdoctor.
When we become a monk anybody inIndia, especially Sannyasis,
(01:09:28):
sadhus, buddhist monks theyshave their head right.
That is called Munda.
Munda means shaving the head.
And when they become Munda theybecome really Munda, means they
(01:09:49):
shave their head.
It's called Munda.
I was reading one scripture ofJain.
It is called Dhanang Sutra.
Dhanang Sutra they describetheir ten kind of Munda, ten
kind of shaving, and we do onlyone kind of shaving.
(01:10:12):
When they become renounced theworld, they cut their hair,
shave the head.
It is commonly known in India, but only Buddhist monks, jain
monks or other monks, they alldo it.
But in the Dhanang Sutra thereare nine kind of more Munda
(01:10:36):
shaving and we are not familiarwith it and if we don't have
those kind of, we never going toenter into your meditative
state.
That kind of shaving is calledShrot Indriya, your ear,
(01:10:59):
whatever you hear it.
Good, bad, right Are mixed.
There are three kind of wordswe hear through our and it
because of hearing, because ofthis, we get distracted in the
world.
Beautiful music going on, weget distracted, we forget the
(01:11:23):
meditation.
Right, we get too much into it.
We totally forgot everythingelse.
This is called its own nature.
What is the nature of this ear?
To get indulged into the musicwhat you like, or good words
(01:11:47):
what you like.
Or many people, they like badwords and they create music
about through the bad words.
If you hear rap music, mostlythey are bad words, but many
people like it.
They are indulged into it.
(01:12:07):
When you are not indulged intothese indulgment of the nature
of the ear, it means that is theshaving of the ear, not to cut
your ear, no, cut thoseindulgment.
That is called first shaving.
(01:12:30):
First shaving is sparshindriya.
Sparshindriya is a touch whenyou go away from that, what it
is soft thing, delicate thing, very beautiful thing which feels
very good flowers.
Nobody like hard thing, harshthing.
(01:12:53):
If you have to lie down on theconcrete you will not like.
You need some kind of, you needsome kind of mattress and this
and that that's what you like it.
That is all indulgment of thesparshindriya.
That is second shaving A monk.
Shave that to first.
If they don't shave it, onlyshaving the ear or head, it
(01:13:18):
doesn't make any sense.
And if it makes sense, I wasreading one thing Kabirah
Kabirah wrote that moond-mundaihari mile, if by shaving the
head, if you reach to the God,who are you meet the God.
So then he said, har koimoond-mundai, that then
(01:13:46):
everybody can shave the head, then then God, you will meet the
God.
Then, moond-mundai hari mile, har koi moond-mundai baar baar
ke moond te bhedna baek untijaya.
That I don't understand onething that we shaved again and
(01:14:09):
again the sheep, right, but thatsheep doesn't go to the heavens
, no-transcript.
So he attacked that justshaving head, you going to go to
heaven?
No, that's not right.
(01:14:31):
Nine more shaves, then you cango into the meditative state.
First touch, then taste, cutyour, whatever you are indulging
to, this material things, dessert and this and that.
Hey, eat simple food, simplefood, nutritious food, healthy
(01:14:56):
food, then it will help you.
But if you indulge into the fryfood, tasty food, greasy food
or any kind of which, you areindulging to that, and if you
are not into it, that is thirdkind of shaving Granindria.
(01:15:21):
You smell Many people areindulging, they cannot stay
without it.
That is a granindria.
Then your touch, taste, smell, hearing and looking.
(01:15:41):
When you look, you areindulging.
So many distractions, so manydistractions.
And husband was asking to thewife that whom you love the most
(01:16:01):
?
Oh, of course I love mychildren.
She said that.
No, you love me the most.
He said that give me the reasonthat you can leave the children
(01:16:23):
to the neighbor, lady, neighborhood, but you never
leave me there.
Right, they can get it, theycan have their own idea, but an
indulgement is indulgement.
By looking we get distraction somuch.
(01:16:46):
A man is walking, there is alady walking, a distracted A
lady is walking and suddenly hesaw the handsome man.
Distracted Eyes are the mostdistracted and I talk about it.
If you really want to save it,don't get indulged into those
(01:17:12):
eyes thing.
They will take you away fromyour path.
Not only that, then you have tosave your anger.
Don't be in the anger, don't bein the ego, don't be into the
deceitfulness, don't be into thegreediness.
These are the real saving.
(01:17:33):
Nine but tenth, everybody isdoing it.
Tenth saving just save the hand.
It is not much important thannine more.
If you do this, ten, that isreally a saving, and then you
can enter into the meditativestate.
(01:17:55):
And there are twenty-fiveblocks.
I thought I will talk to youtoday, but it seems like I have
to go tomorrow.
There are more things on theway and I know that.
She told me one and a half hour.
(01:18:16):
It is getting there, so, but inthe end I am going to tell you
just one minute.
A father gave a son a littlestone and he said go sell him.
But to sell it you cannot speaka word, you just say those two
(01:18:43):
fingers only.
Okay, but you inform me whathappened.
Then he said, okay, all right.
He went.
He showed the stone to theperson who is interested more
and he said what is the price?
Okay, two hundred.
(01:19:05):
He understood two hundred.
He went to his father Dad, dad,he is giving two hundred, don't
sell it, go further.
He went further.
One really liked that stone.
It is shining, it is beautiful.
(01:19:26):
He said what is the price Okay, two thousand, no problem.
Wait, he went to his father.
He is giving two thousand.
No, you have to go further.
He went there.
He went really like it, reallylike it.
(01:19:52):
And he asked him I really wantto buy this stone.
What is the price?
Okay, two hundred thousand.
Wait, he went to his fatherthat he is giving two hundred
thousand.
Go further.
(01:20:15):
There was a jeweler.
He saw it.
When he saw it, he said what isthe price?
What do you want?
He said I don't have twomillion, but I can tell you,
(01:20:47):
whatever you will say, I willgive the price of this stone.
I was searching whole of my lifeand this is the first time I
found it.
It is priceless.
I will give my whole shop toyou, all diamonds, everything.
(01:21:08):
It still doesn't cover it.
That's the diamond you carryinghuman body.
Human body is priceless.
If you will use it, you willenter into Mahapranadhyana and
what is blocking to you?
(01:21:29):
I am going to talk about ittomorrow and remember your body,
your human life, is priceless.
Don't waste it.
Somebody, sitting in the sky ornot sitting in the sky, knows
(01:21:49):
the value of it, but you don'tknow it.
Learn the value of your bodythe way you are born, you are
perfectly alright.
The same way, don't trustsomebody saying you are ugly,
don't trust it.
Nobody is born here ugly.
(01:22:10):
Everybody is born priceless.
It is just we have to consider,or we have to recognize, the
value of this diamond, jaiSiddhātmā.
