MSU Hires New Athletic Director, J Batt

June 5, 2025: Michigan State let go its athletic director, Allan Haller, a few months ago for a variety of reasons. By all accounts, Haller was doing a good job in managing the athletic hiring and firing and administration of the programs at MSU. However, he struggled coordinating and successfully fund raising both for the department and for the ‘off the books’ NIL.

So Michigan State hit the transfer portal and found J Batt from Georgia Tech where he comes with 3 years experience as the AD for the Yellow Jackets. Batt has apparently been very good at raising money which was seen as a real problem for MSU in their football program.
