Are you exhausted? Are you burned out? It might be for a reason you don't realize.
We want to ensure that our boss values or approves us. We want our people to respect us. We want our spouses to appreciate and adore us, making us feel beautiful. We do a lot to try to create that feeling for them. This is people pleasing. When we think we can control other people's feelings. We know we are people pleasers since it is always at our expense.
We are out of alignment with who we really are and what we really want, i.e., the truth.
We often try to control how others feel, but it is always at the expense of ourselves. People pleasing is lying. Because if you are showing up as some version of yourself to please someone else, denying your true self, then you are not in an inauthentic relationship. You are this fake version of yourself to hopefully get people to be happy, or to like you, or to think you are amazing.
We need to speak from a place of the truth. The truth about what we really want, the truth about what we don’t want. This is unconditional love for ourselves.
