On today’s episode of “Harder to Breathe'', host, founding drummer of “Maroon 5”, and licensed therapist, Ryan Dusick is joined by co-host and actor Brian “Duck” Maillard for a conversation with iconic television star and mental health activist, Mädchen Amick.
Mädchen was organized and well put together from a young age. She moved to Los Angeles at just 16 years old, and quickly found her footing in the world of acting and modeling. Her big break came with the premiere of David Lynch’s “Twin Peaks”, a TV Show that continues to make waves more than 30 years after its debut.
Her passion for mental health began when her son faced issues surrounding Bipolar Disorder. Trying to figure out the best way to help him presented her with the realization that there are way too few mental health resources available, and consequently, many people are suffering and aren’t receiving the support that they require. Today, her “Don’t Mind Me” Foundation aims to create a center in Palm Springs designed to help hundreds of individuals within the community, regardless of circumstance or background.
The three all share a great passion for both the arts, and for mental health, and their commitment to making the world a better and healthier place is admirable. If you’d like to learn more or Donate to Mädchen Amick’s “Don’t Mind Me” Foundation, please visit: www.dontmindme.org
