Traci Kanaan (00:04):
Music, none of
what happens on this podcast is
planned in advance. My guests,my clients, are real people with
incredible stories. They aregraciously sharing their
hypnosis session and theirhealing journey with you, the
listener, you will experiencefirst hand, their highs, their
(00:26):
lows and their laps. So I wastelling Terry that this was
about a year of therapy in abouttwo, little over two hours, and
she goes well. I thought youwould have put me under and and
then that this would have beenhypnosis. But all I was going to
tell you is that everything wedo is hypnosis. Some trances are
(00:48):
really amazing. Some trances arenot so amazing. So everything we
do is a trance. So when you'rehanging out at home, that's a
trance. When you go out withyour friends, that's a trance.
When you go out with yourhusband, that's a different
trance. It's all you. They'reall related to each other, but
(01:09):
they're different mindsets thatwe adapt, okay? So like when you
were with your mother, that's awhole different trance, yeah,
okay. You felt that. You feltthat you knew immediately, and
that was not a good trance foryou. So that's a bad trance. But
when you're out with yourfriends, that's a great trance.
(01:31):
So what we're doing, what a lotof what we did in that session
was covert hypnosis, or wakinghypnosis, where we're having a
conversation, and I'm guidingyou through these trances. So
when I read the list of all thethings that triggered you, I was
putting you back in that stateso that I could pull you out of
(01:52):
it, oh, okay, and so that youcould start to see so the first
time, it was like a shock. You're like, Oh, wow. I don't
know that I want to go there, because even though this was
crappy, it was comfortable, yeah, and then so we just went
back and forth. And then prettysoon, what is it? What? Why am I
doing this? And then it was likeMom, and then now you see the
(02:16):
big difference between how youwere feeling. Was mom related,
and you're like, I don't wantthat. Yeah, now I know what I
want. Yeah, I want to be happy,Terry again. I don't want to be
like my mom anymore. And sothat's what. So it's all
hypnosis. Oh, okay. It's just Ididn't put in the smoke and
(02:38):
mirrors and you were gettingsleepies? Yeah? Yeah. I mean,
there's a time and place forthat, but when you're trying to
get to the root of a problem, Icould have hypnotized you and
said, everything's going to befine. And then you go back home
and you see the trunk flag, andyou're like, fuck. Kids are
triggered again, yeah? But nowdoing the longer way, which is
(03:02):
trying to get to the root of it.What is the root of it? You
know, started out with thesecond husband, and the feelings
of abandonment, being leftkicked to the curb, I'm going to
lose everything. And you hadthose same feelings all over
again. It just came back in adifferent form, and it
connected. And then when we tookit further back, there was mom,
(03:23):
the negativity sitting on thecouch, the the fear, yeah, and
so now playing those againsteach other. Now you came to that
conclusion, I don't want to belike my mom. So that's, that's
what we were doing. So it's allhypnosis. It just wasn't
Terri (03:45):
Got it, okay, sleep.
Yeah,
Traci Kanaan (03:48):
okay, cuz, so when
I can't rush off, so when I tell
people to remember a time inyour life when you were playful,
yeah, okay, and trust your firstimpression, you go right back.
Oh, yeah. It was a time mighthave been when you met your
(04:09):
husband. Yeah, I was flirtingwith them. It was kind of
playful, and it was a reallygood feeling. That was good. I
don't have to spend 20 minutesgetting you in a nice, relaxed
state going, okay. Now, rememberthat time when we're playful?
You're there, and I know what. That's fine, yeah. Or remember a
time when you were victoriousand you won something, and you
(04:30):
worked hard for it and you gotit. It could have been your home
that, you know, yeah, becameyours after 20 years. But
remember that time when you gotthat most people can go right
there, and I don't have to spendall day. Alright, make sure your
toes are nice and relaxed, yeah,20 minutes later, alright, make
(04:52):
sure your elbows are nice andrelaxed. So, so that's so this
was all hypnosis. So. It justwasn't traditional hypnosis. It
was combination hypotherapy Andthen a little bit of comedy
thrown in, like I was able topull some of your stuff.
Normally, I would have tried topush you through the hilarious
(05:14):
hypnotist. But I didn't feellike that was the route to go
for this particular for yourparticular session, because
there were so many raw emotionsthat haven't been Yeah, worked
through, but I did manage to getit in at the end with calling
your mom a squatter, yeah? So wewere able to come around with a
little bit of funny there. Yeah,
Terri (05:35):
yeah.
Traci Kanaan (05:37):
So that's that was
kind of the method to my
madness, got it, or the madnessto my method, that makes sense.
So any other questions? Um,
Terri (05:49):
tell me more about this
dark
Traci Kanaan (05:53):
Oh, the dark arts,
yeah,
Terri (05:54):
hypnosis, yes, yes. Okay,
so
Traci Kanaan (05:58):
the dark arts of
hypnosis, there's hypnosis is a
great way to persuade people. And the dark arts of hypnosis
were actually, since everythingis hypnosis, it's there's good
trances and bad trances. Andadvertisers are constantly
competing to get you in theirtrance, to buy their product, to
(06:20):
call, call their number, toengage in some behavior.
Seduction guys study this a lot, that there's a subset of the
hypnosis community called theseduction community, and they're
the ones that woo women to fallin love with them, get them to
(06:42):
do what they want. And there'scertain subtle ways to
manipulate people to get them todo what you want. Like one of
the things that so I went to aclass called, I think it was
attract, attraction, some kindof attraction class. And there
(07:04):
was a gentleman who was a pickupartist for many, many years, and
you would never guess it,because he was six foot
something kind of a big teddygear, teddy bear guy, good
looking guy, but not what youwould think, like the typical
seduction, yeah, yeah, guy. Andhe goes, I gotta work with what
(07:26):
I have. She says, I'm not goingto be that guy in the dance
floor that you're like, oh, Iwant to be with him. He says,
But I'm that guy that you cantalk to when you leave the club.
And so he would sit outside theclub with a sign that said, foot
rubs. The woman would come outholding their high heels. Hey,
would you like a foot massage?Yes, I would. And the ladies
(07:50):
would sit down, and he would rubtheir feet and tell them how
pretty they are. And that wasone way that he met people. And
then through online, he wouldguide them through a series of
steps. And it's, it's all partof what he was looking for. So
he would say, I gotta ask yousome questions. And they're
(08:15):
like, Okay. And he goes, What'stwo plus two? What's your
favorite color? And thenthey're, they're like, now, what
kind of questions are those? Andthen he would come back, because
now he's got them in the habitof complying. Now they're
following what he said. They'reanswering his questions. He come
back and say, What was yourrelationship with your father?
Like? Do you like dogs? And thenhe would answer, they would
(08:38):
answer his questions. And ifthere was an unpleasant
relationship with their father,he would cut them off, because
somebody going into arelationship with him, with a
bad father figure, opinion, probably not going to be a good
match for him. He loves dogs, sohe wants someone with ducks. He
(09:00):
would ask him about children. Hewanted children. He wanted to
make sure that he had a womanwho was a nurturer. So that was
one thing that he said, and thenhe would go on another. He would
say, Let's Why don't you comeover? We'll play Guitar Hero.
Okay, so they play Guitar Hero, and he goes, he's having a good
time. Let's go out to dinner.Okay? So they go out to dinner.
(09:23):
Oh, let's go see a movie, andthen they go see a movie. Okay,
so now, in the course of oneevening, they've been on three
dates. That's called timehacking. So now he's built more
of a rapport with thisparticular person, and it was
just fascinating. But these arethe subtle ways that you can
(09:44):
manipulate people by thinkingthat you have more of a
connection with them than youdo. Even though you've been on
one date, you've actually beenon three micro dates, and they
will consciously did this. Yeah, this was all part of. Of the
dark arts of hypnosis. It's justlittle subtle manipulation
(10:06):
techniques to get compliance.Okay, oh God, I know it's all
about getting compliance. Yeah.Okay, so the news media does the
same thing. They know. The newsmedias know that certain people
will watch their shows and theywill put out the little
buzzwords that they know thattheir listeners will bite onto
(10:27):
and chew on, and that's how theyget the compliance, and that's
how they got the whole countrydivided and at each other's
throats over this whole thing.Because there's certain things
that people think are reallyimportant on one side, and then
this other side has a wholedifferent set of values and
(10:47):
criteria, but the media cateredto both of those sides, and so
now you have so Fox News says,Look, we beat the pants off the
CNN in ratings. Okay, that's asubtle message. I said, Well,
why would I watch CNN? Fox mustbe better. Yeah, because they're
blowing the pants off theratings. Uh, MSNBC probably does
(11:10):
a similar tactic with them. Youknow, well, you're not going to
get the real truth on Fox unlessyou watch our news. So these are
just subtle little ways thatthey get you to comply, get you
to tune back in, and keep youhooked. So these are all little,
little the dark arts ofhypnosis. Got
Terri (11:32):
it okay? Yeah,
Traci Kanaan (11:36):
it's all about
compliance, all about getting
you to believe a certain way,act a certain way, vote a
certain way.
Terri (11:45):
I did a course one time
that showed in advertising
subliminal messages inadvertising that you don't see
with the eye, but until it'slike, shown to you, yeah, it's
subtle. Yeah,
Traci Kanaan (12:04):
it's very, very
subtle. Like, one of the things
as I'm pulling through, MSNBC,was really blatant about it. I
picked up on it immediately.NBC, I com, okay, the false
(12:31):
narrative at the heart ofTrump's victory over Harris,
there's a lot of assumptions inthere. The false narrative
they're already leading youbefore you've even opened up
that article, to believe thatwhatever Trump says, The Trump
(12:53):
victory over Harris was false, instead of reporting this is
what Trump said. Does that makesense? Yeah, there's a subtle
difference. Yeah, yeah, a keyMaga lawyer is out for revenge.
That's kind of implyingsomething already, that Maga has
(13:19):
done something wrong, but itdoesn't say what it is, Will
Trump follow suit? It's allspeculation. Yeah, let's see
Rachel Maddow, this isn't thetime to check out. It's time to
save the country. Okay? She'simplying the country's in
jeopardy. It's not even officeyet? Yeah, let's see here.
(13:52):
Christian extremists arechamping at the bit for Trump to
hand them secular power. Okay?MSNBC, I believe, has a very
liberal following that tends tobe there was a thing I saw that,
like 40% of atheists voted forKamala Harris. So I'll bet you,
(14:14):
NBC knows that they have astrong atheistic following, and
so when they throw out Christianextremists, an atheist would be
like that, yeah. So little, justlittle things that that go out
there. Alright, so let's be fairand balanced. Fox News, let's
(14:35):
see what they do. Exactly. Ijust find this stuff so Pelosi
throws Biden and Harris underthe bus after Trump's sweeping
election win.
Something doesn't sit well withme in that statement. Yeah,
(14:58):
yeah. Okay, something. Justdoesn't sit well with me. That's
already implying that Biden andHarris have done something
wrong. Yeah. Oh, let's see.Let's see here, Biden admin
(15:21):
under growing pressure after fezreveal Iranian plot to kill
Trump. Okay, I found Fox tendsto have more factual headlines,
but it's the stories they showyou that fall under the dark
(15:42):
arts there they know they'reshowing stories that play to
their their followers, yeah, because I'm not seeing quite the
same. Trump puts Elon Musk towork on phone call with world
leader hours into victory. Andthat's a statement that's not
(16:03):
meaning you really either way, unless you find something wrong
with Elon Musk or you followElon Musk, let's see here.
Architect of Obama victory laysinto Democrats after VP Harris's
(16:25):
loss, the smarty pants party, okay, architect of Obama
victory. Why would he be talkingto Fox News? I find that
interesting, and so I would, youknow, I would check that out.
Like, why would? Why would thearchitect of the Obama victory
(16:46):
give a fuck at this point? Yeah,he got his money, you know,
2030, years ago. So let's tryand see him in.
Ah, here we go. Military leadersdiscuss how to respond if Trump
issues unlawful orders.Speculation, yeah, he's not even
(17:12):
in power.
Terri (17:14):
Well, no, but he said
what he's going to do, you know,
Traci Kanaan (17:25):
let's see. Okay,
Amy Coney Barrett has become the
best hope for Supreme Courtliberals. Okay, let's see. Not
the rest of these. I'm notpicking up quite like I do with
(17:52):
MSNBC. It's so blatant. Here wego, how Trump staffing has
already turned into a war. I
How much of a work can it be?He's two days in to picking his
staff. So they've
Terri (18:11):
been picking the staff
for the last four years. He's
Traci Kanaan (18:15):
had a lot of time
to think about it. Yeah for
sure. And he's
Terri (18:19):
going to put all Yes, men
in there, anybody that agrees
with him and will let him dowhatever he wants to do will be
appointed.
Traci Kanaan (18:27):
Well, I'm sure
Biden and Harris would have done
the same thing, because you wantpeople with the same philosophy.
Yeah, that's the scary part, butthat's so the dark arts of
hypnosis is all aboutcompliance. What can I do to
keep my reader on my news? Whatcan I do to get them to act?
Unknown (18:51):
Got it,
Traci Kanaan (18:52):
yeah. How can I
get them to comply do what I
want? And there's this subtlemanipulation everywhere you go,
everywhere you go. So it's just,I was at one of the rent fairs,
and I had a pair of boots on. Iwas thinking of buying them, but
(19:15):
I hadn't quite decided. And thesalesperson goes, will you be
paying those with Visa orMasterCard. Very subtle, but
that went right underneath theunconscious mind. So like, how
am I going to pay for theseboots? And I could have said, I
saw what you did there, and youjust lost a sale. I said, Good
(19:36):
move.
Terri (19:39):
Well, I learned, you
know, it's like in retail. You
never say, Can I help you?People always going to say, no.
So are you shopping for yourselfor for a friend today? Yep, you
know,
Traci Kanaan (19:57):
if you were to buy
something for yourself, what
would it be? Right? Yeah, yeah, there's all kinds. So I'm going
to actually a mastermind group, and we study different ways to
manipulate people. And I thinkit's fascinating, but it's one
of those superpowers that youjust gotta keep in check. You
know, I use it when I need to,but and use it for good. That's
(20:23):
what he stresses. Always, useyour powers for good. Don't use
it for people. So anyway, thatthat's the the dark
Terri (20:32):
arts got it, yeah.
Traci Kanaan (20:39):
So now you know.
Now I know.
Unknown (20:44):
All right,
Traci Kanaan (20:46):
let's wrap this
up. Okay, good job. You.
