Today’s show is an amazing conversation with Alix Lebec. Alix leads investor relations and marketing for WaterEquity, an outgrowth of water.org, the organization co-founded by Gary White and Matt Damon that has empowered 21 million people globally with access to safe water and sanitation. Water Equity puts capital to work to deliver universal access to safe water and sanitation. Alix recently closed WaterEquity’s flagship $50 million Impact Investing Fund. In addition to her impressive professional career, Alix has a passion for dance, performance and creative expression. A self-described French social and cultural entrepreneur who grew up in South Korea and China, Alix went from working at the World Bank to the Clinton Global Initiative before taking on fundraising and investment relations for water and waterequity. Alix is so bright and inspiring and I have to say one of the most striking things to me was her clear expression of something I read about many years ago. I don’t know if anyone has read the Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. The 1st time I read it was over 20 years ago and it always stuck with me. The book reveals a series of insights about human evolution and the critical stage we are at currently in our evolution. One of the insights is about how our paths are really about discovering a truth that is a higher synthesis of what our parents believed and represent through their lives. Alix seems to have done this so beautifully in her life through her work and pursuit of personal passions.
