When is a movie so not great that it’s…not actually bad? Can we be entertained in a horror film that doesn’t actually involve…um, horror? Does an over 100-minute movie that reveals the main twist 10 minutes in still have the power to keep us in our seats? The answer with M. Night Shamalan’s “TRAP” is, somehow, yes. Come on this journey with us on this week’s Spooky Season pick, as we recognize that nothing surprised us, the genre was unclear, and the writing felt like AI wrote the script --- and yet, we still stuck around. It’s a bit of a wild episode as we try to figure out what’s going on. (Spoiler alert, since that’s on brand: it’s the Emily in Paris effect…sometimes, we don’t want to think. Just watch.)

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
