Johnny Han is a visual effects artist and is currently serving as the visual effects supervisor on The Nevers. Johnny has a range of experience in television and film, and his credits include Smallville, Supernatural, Spider-Man 3, Heroes, Pacific Rim, and Lost in Oz.
We chat with Johnny about how he got his start in the business, what his job as a visual effects supervisor on The Nevers entails, and learn the differences between visual effects and special effects. We discuss the working relationship between the VFX and special effects and stunt department, the creative genius that is Joss Whedon, envisioning set pieces and recruiting VFX companies for the series. He shares the pandemic's impact on the VFX business and the challenges of filming during COVID.
