I watched Netflix's Social Dilemma Documenarty recently. It sincerely has me considering quitting social media or limiting my usage. It's scary to think how algorithms on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Tik Tok keep us on their platforms. It's fun keeping up with friends and their feeds. I consume dance videos on these sites-learning new choreography and promotions on upcoming parties. Film, video game, pro wrest...

Not all of Christopher Nolan's movies are god's gift to cinema. I watched Tenet last night, and it was satisfying, and it wasn't.

Great to be back in a movie theater after being closed several months due to the pandemic. Thank you, state of New Jersey. 25% capacity, I was only one of six people in my 8 p.m. showing.

Tenet was hard to follow. I felt I needed subtitles to understand all the dialogue between characters. I ...

Racism, sexism, ageism.   I've done, been all these things in the past and because of old patterns, beliefs they may happen again in the future.   On this episode I discuss the opportunities which have become available to myself(and us all)through current events to be  better, more loving human beings to each other and not engage in these behaviors.

The first Dancehall Queen on the podcast! Charm is an extremely talented, trophy-winning dancer and choreographer whom I’ve known for nearly two decades.

Charm(real name Shari)is originally from Barbados and migrated to the U.S. with her mother at the age of 3. Mom was a ballroom dancer who would sew her own dresses for dance functions.

During kindergarten, Shari wanted to take ballet classes. Her mother enrolled her and began Char...

This week, I asked Jason to watch the first three episodes(season 1)of Future Man. Sci-fi, action, comedy series starring Josh Hutcherson from The Hunger Games films. Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen are the producers.

Jason said he's a sucker for time travel shows and was impressed with the production quality. 'These three episodes can easily be made into a movie.' He loved the 80s homages to such films as Terminator, Back...

I love the 80s and 90s so much I think I might continue, including those decades in my regular sets.  This time I mixed it up with a couple of present-day genres near the end.  I keep forgetting to list the style of music.   I would love that info when I'm looking to find a song I hear elsewhere.  Enjoy!

80s-90s Hip Hop

  • Too $hort-'Freaky Tales'
  • N.W.A.-'Dope Man'

Jason G. and I are continuing our quarantine review series. Weekly we trade off a movie, comic, or television show to consume then critique. This week it's Wolfgang Petersen's Outbreak released in 1995. We watched this movie(separately)during its initial run 15 years ago, and it is still a fun horror, thriller, drama with a plausible scenario.

The text at the beginning of the film, "The single biggest threat to man'...

Erick Jael Fuentes is a dancer I'd see in local dance classes and on my Instagram feed. One late night in 2019, we both attended a party. He impressed me with his different styles on the dancefloor. He's Hispanic like me, and in this NYC Dancehall space, Hispanic male dancers are few and far between. I was curious to speak with him; we got a chance to do so before the pandemic.

Erick is originally from Guadalajara Jalisco, ...

Robin Sharma's '5 AM Club' was my favorite book of 2019.   It is similar to Bob Burg's 'The Go-Giver', where a narrative includes lessons to live by.

One of those lessons in Mr. Sharma's book being 'allow your life to happen in seasons.'

In the '5 AM Club,' he gives an example describing trees.   Their annual rhythm of losing then blossoming their leaves.   They do not resist the se...

I met Jozee last summer(2019). A mutual friend started bringing her to the dancehall parties I would attend. She gave me a good vibe and was open to learning about our community.

Listening to Jozee reminds me of my enthusiasm when I was introduced to dancehall. In my teens(late 80s-90s), I'd go to neighborhood basement parties where hip hop, house music, RnB played. There would always be a reggae segment. I thought it was cool,...

    The Piketon Massacre
    The Piketon Massacre
On the night of April 21, 2016 in rural Piketon, Ohio - eight members of the Rhoden family were viciously murdered execution style in their homes. Two years later in 2018, their neighbors, the Wagners, were arrested and charged with committing the largest massacre in Ohio’s history. Shocked by the arrests, this once close-knit and religious community remains divided and unable to cope. Was a respected and reputable Piketon family responsible for this unimaginable murder spree? Our team will examine the deep ties that connected both families. We’ll examine the evidence and possible motives for the crimes. For the first time we’ll speak with townspeople, psychological experts, respected investigators, friends and members of both families. Are the Wagners responsible for the murders, and if convicted, will they be executed? Or is it possible that there is still a murderer at large waiting to kill again?
