Neely Woodson Powell is the Founder and CEO of Charleston Shoe Company, a shoe company for everyday women based out of Charleston, South Carolina. Neely is an entrepreneur who started selling shoes from Mexico with just a few suitcases. In 2009, when she began dreaming about her own brand, she enrolled in an accessories design program at the Savannah College of Art & Design. She drew upon her shoe and accessory design coursework and, in collaboration with a fourth-generation cobbler in Mexico, launched her own line of hand-sewn footwear.
Charleston Shoe Company's shoe line has been sold in over 300 boutiques in the US from Miami to New York. They now have their own 26 stores spread around the US.
