this is even the cold, Thisis Lam Morgan mis Graham Barker,
the Fifth GP. And this iswhy you should never ever, never,
never, never never. How Igot suckered in. I'm so embarrassed about
(00:46):
here. You're wasting your time. You got better things to do. Never
listen those darling yummy Reverend and theReperbate. Hey, everybody, welcome to
at the Reverend and the Reperbated showabout two best but dinner you can people,
they have no business talking to.My name is Beaus thinking I'm a
real life pastor and here with mefor the first time in uh, well,
like in person for about a month. It's hey, hey, big
(01:07):
Dan, what's up? What's goingon? Man? Not a whole lot
it's been It's been a good time. I uh, hasn't. It's so
nice to hear. I mean sometime away has been good. But also
I've been sick, yeah, indealing with stuff. Yeah, as we
as we heard in the last episodewhere we interviewed adjacent stalls, it's true
(01:32):
too, Kyle has ongoing issues. Then I think the good Lord that I
am not long, but the chancethat it can. I thought you were
just going up to like check onhim. I didn't realize that the contagion
had spread all the way to thedoor of that bathroom that he has yet
to leave for. I had toget full on, to get full cleared
by the doctors. Just crawled yourway on the cold tile to the doctors,
(01:56):
and they went through a myriad oftesting and cleansing, and it has
matt suit. Yeah. Yeah, but uh, what's going on with you?
I mean the same old stuff.Kirsten is still pregnant, which is
great. Do you want to heara funny story. I'll hear one in
a second. So, so that'sgoing on those who have been like kind
of keeping up with the saga ofmy parents over the last year and a
(02:17):
half. Dad's got a lung scancoming up that'll let us know whether or
not like his lungs have recovered,or whether or not he needs a lung
transplant. So yeah, so thatenough to transplant. I mean yes,
no, no, no, it'sone or the other. It is you're
good or you need a lung transplant. There's no middle ground in what this
scan is gonna show us. Dang. Yeah, so crazy style going to
(02:39):
cough up a lung. No,that's something you can do, like here's
a kidney, here's a lung.So that it's not I know it's not
you. You can't, but theypart like to do it part of your
lung. You can't give one awhole long. Yeah, you can.
You can go you can go onlyright, you could go you want to
go right only? And now Iwould go left only. I feel like
the when I get like the burningfrom the asthma, I would give Dad
(03:00):
my asthma lung. I wouldn't givehim like you're still at the end of
the day. But you're not gonnabe all the way better that You're still
gonna have too. I'm gonna bestuck with one. Yeah, I'm going
strong left yep. So uh yeah, that's a that's a thing. And
of all the things you can gettransplants with, it's the one that's like
(03:21):
least amount of success, hardest onthe body. So yeah, that's a
that sucks. That's the wonderment ofof what's in front of us. So
that's what's been that's what's been going. And I'm butchering my own meat now
I know that is really so proudof you, Thank you. I have
not gotten to that level. Ithink when I need first as a good
sharpener, a good knife sharpener, yeah, because mine are all dull as
(03:44):
crap. I've got one that that'spretty good. But how do you not
like you don't own any knife sharpener. I just don't think that they work.
I don't think either they work orI'm not doing it right. Okay,
And I see what kind of knifesharpeners do you have? Well,
I've seen one on TikTok do.I want the one that has a man
that you stuck on the stick onthe end. You've got different level of
group. I want minimal effort knifesharpening. I want accuracy. Uh,
(04:08):
I don't want like we saw thisat a flea market where it was on
sale as seen on TV at Walmart. Yeah, I want a good knife,
sharp sharpenter. Yeah, but that'snot where we're here to talk about.
I mean, what is it?Not? Is it not? I
don't I don't care about knives anymore. I mean, I like knives,
but I don't want to continue. It sounds like you like you do care
(04:30):
about knives, because I do.You don't have one sharp one in your
house, and it seems to bereally messing. It's irking me. You're
a culinary kid, it's irking me. I don't have any knives that I
would trust with butchering. Okay, that's right way to say it. If
I'm butchering my own meat, andi'd buy a big section of cow,
I gotta cut out. I gota carve out eight ribis. I'm gonna
be there a while. So theuh, the work sharp knife and tool
(04:57):
sharpenter. That's the one that we'vegot. It's a little like belt sharpener
that it sits on your countertop. And you can just switch the belt the
grinding belts and the angles of it, and there's so there's different levels of
sharpening. They're like, oh,if you want to be a woodsman,
of if you want this, andthen the sharpest level is just called bragging
rights. And oh the bragging rights. We've got two kitchen knives that be
(05:21):
sharpened to that and we just throwgrapes at the knife and it just cuts
them right into perfect It's amazing. You do you do the paper test?
Yeah? Oh yeah, okay, yeah, mine doesn't do that. Yeah,
but you could take a raw tomatoand drop it on the knives and
it just splits them wide open. You should bring a knife over. I'll
show you had to sharpening. Idon't feel like I have strong sharpening skills
(05:46):
nor the correct tools. That's whereI'm at. Well, okay, well,
if you bring him over, usethis. There's particulars tools, or
I can buy the one on TikTokand yeah, the tunnel. There's a
guy, the butcher Wizard. Yeahhe's got a Yeah he uses a little
tumbler, but only because they sponsorhim. He used to just say like
buy this one knock knife off Amazon. It's forty bucks. And when it
(06:09):
gets dull, it's so cheap, throw it away and buy a new one.
And now he's like, no,look at this knife. Throw your
money in the trash, spend onetime, three easy payments. Chef Tony
with the miracle blades. Uh,they'll never go dull. Then two years
(06:29):
later and half of America is like, this knife is crap. All right,
can tell my story if you must. Why are you being a choch?
I don't understand the reference. Idon't know either, yeah, uh
yeah, okay, So we'll seewhat you think about the story. I'm
ready, Camden, are you mikeOn? Okay? Yeah? Are you?
Are you ear muffed on? You'reprobably old enough? Are you?
(06:53):
Oh? Gosh? Old enough? Is that? But it is? I
think I got endless joy out ofthis. But it does. It starts
with the comedy shows that the churchhas been putting on. Yes, so
we've seen moody, malabby, moody, Kristen Webber, Isaac Whitty, take
(07:13):
it away now, Kristen Witty, yep, Isaac Whitty again, the Webber
Witties, yep. Robert Smiley hascome a ka Bob and average boy.
He was the most recent one,Yeah and coming, and Brandon was also
on the Brandon too. Yeah yeah, why can't I remember? Uh?
(07:35):
But what's Brandon's last name? Yeah? I'm drawn a blank too. Yeah.
Well, because no, we won't. This is the most he needs
to know. He's not the he'snot a comic we remember well. And
also he's not the only brand Brandon. He's also not the only Brandon that
I know. Yeah, that's right. I'm like nine Brandon's. Does the
other Brandon that you that we doeshe listen to the podcast? Which is
(08:00):
the funniest because I don't know Brandon'sor the comedy. I don't know how
to describe him. I don't thinkhe regularly listens. No, okay,
so I think we're safe, allright, but we we're new teeth Brandon
new no wait what Yeah he is? Also he was there too. He
was there. He he's not,but I'm just saying he's a Brandon.
(08:20):
He's there. So, like,if we're going to delineate Brandon's, we've
got Brandon, We've got old Brandonyoung, and we have we have no
Brandon with the new teeth, Brandonnew teeth. We call good Brandon and
he's the one. He's the onethat just got out of prison. Yeah,
he's better than Heather's cousin Brandon. So we call him in our house,
(08:41):
good Brandon, the one that gotout. Is he better than the
person who put you down on theirapplication today? He didn't application, okay,
so I don't believe he expected torun into me. But that's I'm
just gonna drop your name and hopeI don't run into you, which immediately
immediate text to me. But anyways, yeah, okay, I'm gonna start.
(09:03):
I'm gonna tell that story. I'mgonna start over because I want to
tell this story. All right. So there have been comedy shows that are
happened in the church that we wonvery several. There was one very recently.
There's one coming up Robert g Leeand Corey Edwards. This one was
Bob Smiley put on by the WebberWitties. I think it's just whitties.
(09:24):
I know, I think it's funnierto say it that way. No text,
Isaac Hey, Isaac Webber Witty.Uh So, so they put it
on. They brought very friend who'swho's an awesome comedian. It's very funny.
We we're wanting to go kind oflast minute. We texted some friends.
Had the text a couple of ourfriends, it's how you want to
go, We'll give them tickets online. Good Brandon with the new teeth Teeth.
(09:48):
And then her other friend, Andreawas going to her name. Yeah,
she she's the She's this is thestory is about her. Okay,
this is a really weird seating arrangementthat you guys has had. Yep.
So I'll get there. Okay,I'll get there. The reason for the
seating arrangement because I'm back there.Let me get there. As we're recording
this show, I get I seeinto it and this was strange to me.
(10:13):
Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna getthe entire time. Okay. Cool.
So so I'm glad I'm finally gettingto explace Heather. Heather text her
and says, Hey, we wantto go to comedy show. We're gonna
Dan. Yes, We're gonna buysome tickets online. We'd love you to
come. She doesn't get out veryoften. She's a register nurse are in.
Yeah, she's also not tall enoughto do a lot of things.
She's not. She needs someone todrive her, so so she comes over
(10:35):
and she's the first thing, thefirst tame is coming and going to a
comedy show. She walks in,she's all dressed up. She goes,
I dressed up. You know. She doesn't something, you know, gives
them one a little twirl. Wego, oh, that's great. It's
you know, we're gonna congratulate. We're gonna go get some food. On
the way. It's all adults. The kids are taken care of, the
people are watching them. Which youdidn't bring your son to watch his favorite
(10:58):
comedian. I'm just saying he didn'twant to. Oh. Also knife Also,
yeah, he was hanging out withall the kids, right, they're
having fun. Yeah. Also, this isn't this is an adult's night out.
We're having fun. So we getsome food, We have some Margarita's.
(11:18):
I tell or she says, oh, I'm a lightweight. I don't
know if I can. You know, I don't. I don't know.
And we go, well, youdon't have to, but if you want
to, you know, it's acomedy show and be fun. So she
gets one. Uh, we goto Bucky's. We sniff all the candles,
we get some beer nuggets. It'sa great time. We all get
Buckis has candles. They have aton of candles, and they're all very
funny names, too weird. Sowe spend some time there. Okay,
(11:39):
it's just that's not a like anecessary part of the story. But we
were making a knife, spending alot of time on it for it to
be a just I'm testing. I'mtelling the story, boy are you.
So we're driving from Fort Worth toLake Dallas, which is very far.
We start getting forty five minutes. It's like anywhere in DFW. So we
start getting we start getting closer, and she goes, Hey, where where
(12:03):
are we going? Where's this?Where's the club? And then it dawns
at me that we didn't tell herthat it was at a church. So
Heather says, oh, it's atit's at a church, and she kind
of laughs, you know, andwe go, no, it's at church,
and she goes, ayah ha ha, And so we pull up into
the church. She goes, church, you're telling me I wore leather pants
(12:28):
at a Margharita, what are youdoing it's at a church. She starts
freaking out, and I'm sitting inthe driver's seat going this is the funniest
thing that's happening tonight, like forsure, hands down, we didn't tell
her. We didn't tell her,and we didn't tell her is at a
church? And Heather goes, no, but like, of course it's fine.
Sure. In that moment, asouthern, a southern lady that is
(12:54):
a pretty conservative had a Margarita puton leather pants and her friends brought her
to church. Okay, so Itell her said calm down, which is
not supposed to I said, calmdown, right, Yeah, everything will
be fine. We'll have Heather onone side, me on one side,
(13:15):
will be with you. It's great. It's gonna be fun. We're gonna
laugh. And she goes, shegoes, I'm a sinner, I'm a
center. I shouldn't be here.I said, you're fine. This is
a this is a church. Weare having fun. It's okay. So
we go in and I sit downnext to her. We're having a good
time. But the whole time, all through the whole show, I keep
(13:37):
thinking, that was the funniest thingthat just happened in the car. So
this is why, because this isthis is what I see all that,
right, I see this row offive which has been completely occupied by these
adults that have come without the children'sthe child who says Bob Smiley's his favorite
(13:58):
comedian was a long time ago.So I'm no, it's Louis c.
K. That's a great, greatstep but it's not really he doesn't know
who that is. Okay, good, good, not a not a guy
who would give a Google to Kale, but it's it's a good Brandon with
(14:18):
the new teeth. His girlfriend sayyour wife, this are her best friend?
Yeah, and then you on theend, and I'm like, why
is Dan not sitting next to Iwas helping her keep her crap under control
because she was fully freaking out becauseof leather pants and having a couple of
(14:46):
margaritas for a lightweight. Yeah, yeah she was, and not being told
that if you hang out with me, she was, and we go hang
out and have some drinks, Imight take you to church. Yeah.
She was a normally quite funny he'slaughing. Yeah, she she was a
normally quiet at this show, exceptfor the elevator thing that she did at
(15:07):
the because she the whole Yeah,I forgot about that. She was horrified.
She's like, did you seem todo the elevator for Lucas? Like,
yeah, okay to be okay,so what that means so we can
we can put a definition to whateverexplanation you might have come up with.
But that is so I am.I'm running the production into the show of
(15:28):
the show, right, so allthe av stuff, this is stuff,
and I'm recording and all that stuff. So I'm in I'm in the booth
yea. And she goes, shecome up and the booth is is elevated.
Now mind you, like we've alreadystated she's not a real tall person,
and so I can see like hernose and up like she from she's
(15:50):
a showty, but she's not myshowty. I think those are spelled different.
But you're on the right track. So she pretends like she's walking down
the stairs. But I looked atit, and she looks back and she
was like, ha, do youget it. I was going down the
stairs, but it was one step. She took one step and then disappeared.
And I was like, oh,you know, yeah, I like
(16:10):
the elevator better. And so sheshe is the elevator. She was having
done that about that do the elevator. Oh my gosh, I'm so stupid.
I was like it was fine. Also like what it's me like,
what That's not the dumbest thing I'veseen her do. I don't know,
(16:33):
I mean not in the same stfreak out pulling into the church. The
me having to d escalate and belike, oh my gosh, it's gonna
be okay was the funniest thing ofthe whole night. And as soon as
I I just didn't believe that itwas out of change. I held it
together until I got back into thetruck, and then I died laughing.
So you you kept it together theentire show. I shouldn't say ken together.
(16:56):
I laughed the show. It wasvery it was very funny. My
favorite, okay, my favorite wasI think Isaac's line of it's so hot
here he's a transplant, this isfirst summer, we haven't had any rain
and uh, and he tells someof his friends after a breeze, he
says, man, we really neededthat wind. I think I was the
(17:18):
only one that laughed at that, but I laughed pretty hard. His the
new stuff that he tried out wasso good and and it's all very very
like I wanted. I want totalk about it, but I don't want
to talk about it because it's there, it's their stuff. Go check out
there. Uh that many comic stuffbecause a lot of it's already well,
(17:40):
a lot of it's already shown up. Special with the with the wind joke,
No no, no, that's butthere are you you aren't. But
there are other things that I like, really like that sun you want to
go, like point or the thingabout the phone. Yeah right, really
good, And like the way thatthey put it together was great. They've
they got a bunch of new stuffon their wheels and Instagram that the y
(18:02):
all should go check. Bob Smileywas great. He was Isaac was my
favorite. I mean it's it's hardto top his comedic style and timing for
people who grew up in our era. Yeah right, like he he knows
exactly how to get people in ourdemographic and our at range to laugh with
(18:27):
you know. Apparently it's a jokeabout wind and and about being old.
Yeah right, yeah, yeah, because that's the kind of thing that old
people say. Now, but that'smy story. So if you come drinking
with me, be careful. Imight take you to church. So what
a week? What are we constituting? Like? That was a that was
(18:48):
a crafted joke, right, yeah, handcrafted. Yeah, that's it.
That's it. That's it. That'sthe story mixologized by Dan. It was.
It was. It was tumbled andshaken and not stirred, poured over
ice. So, okay, sothere's a there's a thing about the shaken
and not stirred stuff. Have youhave you heard this? Do you know
(19:10):
about this? James Bond? Youheard about the shaken and not stirred thing.
Why James Bond did it? Ibelieve I did. I don't remember
why. So it has to dowith Christopher Lee, right, the guy
who James Bond is based off of. Okay, so, yeah, so
a old gold gold digger, golddigger. So when a margarita is stirred,
(19:33):
or sorry, not a margarita,When a martini is stirred, all
of the parts pushed together. Whenit's shaken, they separate, and so
when mixes better what you're saying,it mixes better when you stir it.
When you shake it, it doesn'tmix as well. The different parts of
it tend to stay separate and toseparate quicker. Right. So the reason
(19:56):
that he wanted it shaken and notstirred is because he get sip the top
of them the martini and get likethe vermouth and all of the other things
that make the better flavors. Butit wouldn't actually get very much of the
alcohol, but not not get thevodka and gin, and Casey had to
shoot somebody or while he was gatheringit from a smart or just playing poker,
like you gotta you know, youstill want to keep your wits about
(20:17):
you. Yeah, whether you're asecret agent or not playing pokers, especially
if you're playing with galen Urso it'sgonna be really difficult, you know,
to top that while he's crying bloodand making death start plans. Pretty cool,
Get old Mad's all right? Haveyou been that's been keeping up with
with Ahsoka? Yeah, it's awesome. Okay. When I was gonna introduced
(20:41):
thrown, I don't know all Ithought for sure it was happen this.
This is after we're recording this, right after episode five. So if you
haven't seen it yet, like it'syour fault. It's been a week where
it's a series. That's all yourspoiler stuffs are covered. I think if
we got a problem with that,be careful. I might take you to
church. It's already we're already halfwaythrough this thing and now and still no
Thron, Like, are are theyshowing us in the trailers that show Thron
(21:07):
the entirety of him in the firstseason of Asoka? Is that what we're
going to get at the end ofepisode eight is just a shot of Thron.
Oh he's back. I will bemad if that's the case, but
fully engaged for the next series, whatever it is. I'll go, fine,
you got me. When is itcoming out? Yep? Also,
what do you because you you're nota Star Wars rebel, I've seen some,
(21:32):
but now yeah, so what areJase? Who's purls? Purls?
They're the big uh oh the SpaceWales. Yeah, well I saw the
episode where they show up. Itwas one of the cartoon Yeah, and
that was like the only episode Ibelieve, right, Like, there's been
very little of them actually showing up. So there's there's I think two or
(21:52):
three episodes with the Purgles in them, So you've got the first appearance of
them in the early seasons, andthen there may be two episodes of the
Pergols at the end. But thevery last episode is the one that that
really brings it all home. Yeah, They're They're very cool. I don't
know. I don't know why itis in the mouth. I don't know
why they're attracted to her other thanthe Force, I guess is the show
(22:15):
it's they don't say medicans, no, no, no, gosh, no
are you talking about? It attractedher in the sense of like she was
able to go and communityeah, communicatewith it. That's something that they exploring
Rebels a little bit, and it'sdone a little bit also in the Clone
War series is that through the Forceyou can have some communication with critters.
So that was a big one.She talked to though, Yeah, very
(22:37):
cool. It did. It wasvery cool. It did seem like an
easy writing solution of how are theygonna find throne. It's like, oh,
well, well, let's get somewhales to come. The Jedi will
talk to her and they'll take herto the throne. Well, if you
if you remember back in the ithad to have been the Mandalorian right when
(22:59):
she goes and he finds this lady, she fights him and what season two,
Okay, she captures the lady whoescapes. In the very first episode
of Asoka, that lady is lookingfor thrown and so she has gone because
the Pargols follow the same migration routes. She went to the place where she
knows that they convene, and that'swhere she discovered that not only do they
follow the same migration routes, butalso the Jets, well, the Jedi
(23:22):
used them as transportation or their migrationroutes as hyperspace lanes for a long time.
So it is on the one hand, it's like the convenient thing,
but it's also, like, Asokasaid, like, I don't know this
is going to be the right one. I think we just could be going
somewhere into space along their migration tosome sweet Rill Yang the David Tennant the
(23:45):
robot. Yeah, what do youthink about doctor or who being who?
Yang? I love David TENNANTT Yeah, yeah, the character's cool. It
just seems weird to me. Whywhy you need that guy as vocal talent
when you're going to modulate his voiceand make him a robot? Like,
(24:06):
is this is this one of thosethings where because he's got star power he
gets to be end Star Wars.I don't know, But because there are
a lot of folks that are likethat, they add Matt Berry to some
Oh my gosh, please know Idon't need Matt Burry and Star Wars.
I don't there's two people I don'tneed in Star Wars, Matt Burry and
Taiko Watit. I need them.I don't care about type them out.
So Matt Berry is actually I can'tthink of I can't think of a character
(24:33):
that they could bring him in.I don't know, I don't know,
but it would be great. Hewould have to be an alien, He'd
have to be he'd have to becomedic relief too, because he's like,
you could use him in one ofthe carts playing straight. Yeah. Yeah.
His characters are always in Here andTucson and Arizonia. He's got this
which doesn't exist in Star Wars.Yeah, yeah, I know, I
stole that from what we do thisshow. How would he say cause sheics
(24:59):
something? It's pret Yeah, butyeah, it's great. Matt Barry or
Asoka it's great? Or are youboth ending Ahsoka? Yeah? Asoka's green.
I'm very much enjoying it. I'veloved Hayden Christensen's return. He didn't.
Yeah, it was so good. And the flash between like Anakin and
(25:22):
Darth, which is what I knewalap Forth because she says this is the
only thing you got, And Iwent, no, he's got the dark
side. M yep, there wassomething. There was something that kind of
irritated me about those flashbacks and thosescenes. So Asoka's now got white lightsabers,
and the reason that she is.I think you can see it in
(25:45):
Tales of the Jedi, but it'salso in E. K. Johnston's book
about Asoka. She left her originalgreen lightsabers behind when she left the Jedi
Order and then ended up reconstructing newlightsabers out of a sithe kiber crystals that
she purified. So she's the onlyperson we know of that has white lightsabers.
(26:07):
So like the lightsaber goes from blueto green or whatever when you make
the lightsaber bleed because of the darkside of the forest, she purified them.
Now they turned white. You've gother in the flashback when she's really
young Asoka, she's got the singlegreen lightsaber when they're at this whatever battle
of the Clone Wars. Then whenshe's fighting Anakin and she's supposed to be
a little older, she has twowhite lightsabers with the old hilts. And
(26:30):
this is where I've dived down, like the super nerdy stuff, old hilts,
white lightsabers. Yeah, so sheshouldn't have them in that combination,
right, it shouldn't be in thatcombination. But again, like because it's
a dream sequence, it's this worldbetween worlds, Like there's all kinds of
like shifting and weird and weird meldingstuff. But yeah, I saw that,
and I was like, on thelike those should be grains space wells.
(26:52):
Yeah, yeah, I guess certainlylike this has been in reality stuff,
but it is one of those whereI'm like, all right, are
they are they try trying to showus like how off this is? And
the dream sequence because DAFFIONI doesn't missany of that stuff, Yeah, like
that's all very intentional, Like eachone of those things. Is him like
trying to communicate something. Well, got a pan for this? Yeah,
oh for sure? Right, justlike but but that's the kind of stuff
(27:15):
that for me is fun to lookat, is to look at that and
be like, Okay, I feelthis would not be a continuity issue that
would be missed. So is thishim like trying to communicate Like, Okay,
she's now she's at this part whereshe's a little bit more mature,
but now she's also kind of startingto figure out where she's at mentally,
(27:36):
that she is kind of in thisnew place and you're seeing that transition because
it is a lot of stuff likethat that's very I would say subtle like
that. That's the right way toput it, very subtle in order to
try to make transitions at least. Are you on just like you know,
I'm actually pulling up Are you pullingup the song from Dumb Dumber that you
(27:59):
could find whenever we were looking beforethe before the thing? Yes? Yeah,
so keep going, I'm trying tofind something. Yeah, well I
made my point, Dave Fione subtleall right, Dan, your turn.
So one of one of the thingsthat's been really weird about the show recently
is that there have been a coupleof episodes that you haven't been a part
of, one of which was ourinterview with Costi Hen, which I will
(28:26):
say, have you have you hadthe chance to listen to the whole thing?
No? Okay, start today?Yeah. So Costi's a really fascinating
guy. Our experience with the wholeHen stuff was really weird. Did you
know that when we were growing upthat Costi was actually in Dallas playing for
(28:48):
Dallas Baptist University when he was stilllike buying into all of the false teaching
stuff. No, but that doesn'tsurprise me. I kind of I mean
yeah, kind of Uless If I'mremembering where the his big campus was,
well, so Uless was where itwasn't where he was. Uless was where
(29:10):
the TV station was. They hosteda lot of his a lot of stuff
or whatever. No, TBN's thebig one, same the big hair network.
I want to argue, but Ican't. So we were this would
have been probably h three oh four, right. I was working with Team
(29:34):
Impact and we were invited to abanquet because his Team Impact was on late
night on tb N. Yeah, because they had no problem selling out Nope,
nope. Where where he was,you know, selling out arenas and
their souls? Uh? He Ijust want to make sure everybody caught both
sides of that. He was oneof the keynote speakers of this banquet,
(29:57):
and there was like a lot ofin turnal like did he try to go
he try to slay Greg Lewis inthe spirit No, No, certainly that
would have been hilarious. I thinkhe would have. He would have smacked
Lewis on the chest and he wouldjust punched him in the face. I
I don't know if you because forGreg, where would you need to to
(30:18):
smack Greg in order that he wouldget the healing that he needs? I
don't know, but I just wantto see that it would definitely because Gregg,
it would have to be smacked inthe head, yeah, orn in
the throat so that you could fixhis vocal cords. Yeah, this is
the team former. You can powercheck up Greg on one of our earliest
episodes, Christian Lewis which is anickname that we made up for him,
(30:42):
like on the spot that you knowI talked to him, I say,
I talked to him. I textedhim the other day. He texted me
the other day because he's he's runninglike the HR department for some private school.
Remember that cracked me up that hewas like HR, Like, what
are you gonna do if you getcold? Your skirts too short? Okay,
(31:04):
let's say let's say you're one ofthem gonna get written up. You're
a guy who I would be terrifiedto bring him a problem, Okay,
right, Like that's exactly like everywoman in there and their corporate structure has
to feel like so protected, andevery guy has to just be like intimidated
that they've got to go in.He's sitting like mister incredible and a little
(31:25):
chemical, just like golf scrunched upChristie. Yeah, he starts breathing and
the button at the top of hiscollar just flies across the water. I
didn't realize that's how he laughs. He does. He does poor Greg.
(31:48):
You know, we have awesome.I'm just saying he's out of love that
I'm making fun of him. He'sawesome. I it's always easy to say
I shot that guy out of love. Yea, I love him. Yeah,
Greg's a good Greg. I stolethat guy's money because I love you
know. Randall wants to come backon. He's going on in a while,
(32:10):
and Randall, I think Randall thebear. Harris Brandle told some stories
on an old I mean, thisis like year one stuff we lost,
which which is no, I've gotit, They've got it. Camden.
Actually I handed him this afternoon.I handed him this a hard drive and
I was like, you have tobe careful with this, and he's like,
(32:30):
why does it not work? OrSomething's like no, this has every
single episode of the Reven rep onit. That everyone that we've ever done,
including the ones that are no longer. If you break it, will
we will send you to Yeah Iwas I guess like made out of gold.
So yeah, he'll talk to GregLewis and then we'll send him into
a to be shark tanked with RonWaterman. Yeah. Uh no, it
(32:54):
would not be PTO unpaid time off. Well I guess we could since he's
an unpaid intern. It could bea PTO. He's just give him the
same thing we're giving him now you'repaying me. Yeah, go home.
So uh yeah, this is sogreat. So whereas oh Randalls, So
Randall's on one of the very firstepisodes, and as I'm like going through,
(33:16):
so we've just we've come to theend of year three, like this
is the beginning of year four ofthe Reverend and the Reprobate. Now we're
on with the Christian HQ network thatwe've had the pleasure of starting and kicking
off with the Tattooing Sons and theChristian or Gunite podcast and uh splash the
(33:37):
cocks from fan grilling over Jesus, and so we've had the opportunity to do
all of that stuff. Like lookingback on the people that we've talked to.
One of the things that's really kindof blown me away is the friendships
that we've made along the way,Like particularly like looking at like the Witties,
right, yeah, because we knewof Christian and a couple of people
(34:00):
had told us that we should interviewer, we interviewed Kristen and then like a
what was it like a year latershe's like, oh, you need to
interview my fiance. He's really funny, and we're like, all right,
whatever, and it turns out like, yeah, he's probably one of our
favorite comedians right now because he isYaks was really funny. So, like,
looking back on the last three yearsof what we've done so far,
(34:20):
what what do you think are likemaybe your one or two big standout moments,
Oh moments, not just interviews?Yeah, not just interviews, like
the big like standout moments. Well, I got I'll just do number one.
Yeah yeah, Lean Morgan calling usyummy. I will continue to score
board. Yeah, we might haveto, we might have to walk back
(34:42):
anything other than the interview with LeanMorgan, but yeah, yeah, definitely
that's a continued scoreboard for you saidwe're yummy. She did Yep. That's
it. That's the best. That'sthe best, all right, So what
else would be? What is alot? If you if you're gonna put
Lean Morgan to number one, right, then tier two is empty. You
know what happens? You know whathappens in tier three? Michael Usland's probably
(35:06):
I would favorite. And there's manygreat moments. There's so many great moments
in I mean, he he toldso many stories that we did not have
time to delve in all of thembecause he kept telling more stories. Yep,
which he has said I'd love tocome back on and chat and the
owner of Batman, yep. Andwe've got not just that, but the
(35:28):
reason that we have, you know, really the reason that we have Batman,
the reason we have superhero movie mainstreamin versus versus just Casino living in
a comic book. Yeah, Ithink you can attribute him and Tim Burton
to the reason that we have serioussuperhero movies right now, even though they
have departed in some regard from youknow what that nineteen eighty nine Batman was.
(35:50):
It's certainly not the pal zap Whamof the of the sixties, and
so yeah, his that that wasa lot of fun he has seems to
come back on the show. There'sthere's so many honorable mentions that dude,
they're just so. Which guest doyou think we can pull something else out
of? Victor Dweck? Okay, why because he's hilarious when I don't know,
(36:17):
Yeah, see me, that's awhole I thought you hilarious to come
back one when hilarious was eight yearsago. And yeah, and that's not
true. He's doing standards. Okay, so I think he's genuinely his Some
of his stand up stuff that's comeout, I will say, not safe
(36:39):
for work stuff, But you cantell that he's working. He's getting used
to working in front of a crowdand and doing He's doing stand up in
churches, he's doing it in comedyclubs in New York. And yeah,
but I'm not everybody that's doing thatdoesn't give that doesn't give a license to
just do whatever you want. ButI'm saying he's doing the right place.
Yeah. Yeah, But Okay, who else do you think other than vic
(37:04):
who else do we have more topull out of? Yeah? Who else
do you think we could get morefrom? Like we would exclude guys like
Michael Uselin, who are going tobe like encyclopedias of stuff, man,
I don't right, And and DavidBaker, who we can just like say
hey Dave, and then just healways talk for a couple hours. Who
the season of for and fire startsYer, I'd put in that category to
(37:24):
Mike Rhyner that he's just he's gothe's got forty years in broadcast experience and
there he can so much right now. Yeah, so the year one of
the Freak has happened, They've hadtheir anniversary, are they're about to have
their anniversary, which is really excitingstuff. And right before their anniversary,
they did a whole shake up onall the shows. So like he so
(37:46):
the downbeat is now in the morning, but the downbeat is no longer with
Mike gets Danny and ser Roy andthen Ryner's in the afternoon with Julie and
a couple of others now, soit's it's weird and rhyns now on the
speakeasy, and the downbeat is isDanny and Mike in the morning, so
they've they've done some shuffling around. And I have to say one thing about
(38:08):
my grenned that's consistently impressive, impressive, impressive. Is he no matter who
you put him with, whether itwas Grego or you know, the other
guys on the hardline, whether itwas the guys on the downbeat or the
speakeasy or us, he elevates thegame of everybody around him. It makes
(38:29):
him better. He's Yeah, Iwould put him in that category. I
think he's one that we could definitelyget some more stuff out of. He's
element X. You added to anythingand it makes it, that makes it
better to give mutant powers or something. I don't know, it doesn't matter
what about you, What do youthink? Because there's so many and I'm
grateful, you know what. Ithink the for me, the biggest moment
(38:49):
in the last few years was tellingLevi's story, right, because that was
one that was it was really tough. It was filled with like a lot
of obviously a lot of emotion, but also I think in regards to the
podcast, it's probably one where wewere able to peel back the curtain on
like what's actually going on and inour lives the best and on top of
(39:14):
that, really the feedback that I'vegotten since that episode aired from other people
who have had kids in the Nikefrom nurses and the Nike who have shared
that with other parents that were inthe you know, the Nikke that that
we were in and for so manyof the you know people we know that
(39:35):
like had a friend who's got aNike baby and they're like, you know,
I didn't know what to do.So I just shared that episode with
them from your podcast, and Ireally gave them a lot of comfort and
let them know about you know,God's grace and that there is a light
at the end of the tunnel andyou don't have to be scared about all
this stuff. Like all of thatwas was very encouraging on you know,
on the back end of it,because that was a not only was it
like a trying thing, but itwas a difficult It was a difficult story
(40:00):
to tell without like just completely beinglike overcome by all of the things that
happened, and especially you know, going back through the timeline, there were
so many things that that happened thatwe didn't talk about. It didn't get
to in that episode because they're everyday it seemed like there was something else
that was you know that it wasso so that one I think that and
(40:22):
in the last few years that's thatwas a highlight moment for me because getting
to the episode meant that he wasout and he was okay, you know,
so that that was really cool.I I really loved our takeover of
Ricky's show last year, right,Like, that's one that's when I don't
(40:42):
think of very often, but thatthat to me is such a cool and
such a special thing because even thoughit wasn't our show, it wasn't our
our podcast, they were all ourrelationships, right, it was you know,
it was actually it was Duck toApril and and Ethan Nicole and David
was on for a little bit,and then we had the breaking news to
(41:06):
good News with Charles Spurge and likeall of those things crammed in a whole
bunch of stuffy hopefully would make himsmile, right, and that we cared
about him, and it was allabout like cranking all of our friends.
Yeah, read like us getting todo a bunch of fun stuff, us
bringing on Ashley's fan, hanging upon her. Sorry that sorry, that
(41:27):
was getting boring boring for us?Yeah, yeah, so I will always
remember that line. It was gettinga little boring for us. Yeah,
it was that that was so much. That was so much fun, horrified
look on Ashley's Oh my gosh, speaking of so one of the other big
ones for me is really early on. And this is something that I don't
(41:49):
know that we've really talked about otherthan our wives think that we're bullies.
Oh yeah, April April Metzler fromlike We United or I forget the name
of her show, fan Girling overUnited, Fan Growling Over United. So
April just posted like the memory fromtwo years ago, and the memory was
(42:13):
of us taking over her show becausewe used to record on Tuesday nights and
we had a friend who came outwith a book and we noticed really early
on. I noticed really early onthat this friend who came out with this
book would he kind of had likeRon Burgundy syndrome that like whatever we typed
(42:34):
he would read and take seriously.I don't think we can keep that but
take it off. Yeah, So, but I don't know that. First
off, I don't know that thatis his diagnosis. I certainly don't think
that we can diagnose that. You'relike, I don't know how to go
from here. Well, I'm moreconcerned about the fact that you're getting out
(42:55):
of the show. Do this, you do this. It's like about halfway
through the episode, decides he's KevinFrance and just it's all the way back.
You know what, I'm not comfyone. Yeah, and there's a
there's a reference to somebody know whathe's gonna all about? So we do
(43:15):
it? Take over or she's soit will It starts with us. Did
she have an agenda doing? Ohfor sure. It started with us commenting
on this guy's book that was beingreleased, and he was doing the launch
of his book, and then wejust typed in some some really simple things
like hey, we can't hear you, which was not true, and so
(43:35):
he thought stuff was wrong and sohe like takes his video down, but
since we can hear him, wecan hear him try to fix his audio
and as he's singing to himself andthen, like I said, like everything
that we typed he just read. And whenever we realized that he was going
to do that, we had likea half hour before our show started.
Our guest was run on the littlelights. Yeah, so that's how we
(43:58):
entertained ourselves for that entire time.Well, the next night was very funny.
Yes, our wives both think itdid not They did not give it
glowing reviews. If they're dumb girlswho cares? Uh, we do we
care a little bit? Cut thattoo, Yeah, no, no,
no, I'll I'll leave that inas Daily's Daily's opinions are all his own.
(44:22):
Don't care, so thet Yeah,we're so. The next night we
get this asked to be onest popup interview, and in the pop up
interview, this person like tells usthat it's just gonna She was like,
yeah, I want you guys tocome on, So we kind of rearrange
our schedules so that we can comeon this pop up interview. We come
(44:43):
on the interview when we're in thein these in if you haven't been on
like stream Yard or something like thatbefore, there's this kind of like green
room that you go into right beforethe show starts, and you know,
they kind of give you the productionelements of it and you can bring on
surprise guests and all this stuff. So we end up in this room and
she's like, hey, watch yourstuff. With our mutual acquaintance, it
was very funny. I think you'llneed to apologize, and we were like,
(45:06):
what I think I started? Thisis like our kind of humor and
then he shows up in the greenroom and we go live like ten seconds
later. Well, when we wentlive, we had the countdown and because
she didn't immediately jump in, Idid eat it. It was great.
And then we took over her showfor like the launched into our intro like
a half hour. Oh yeah, welcome, welcome to the show. It
(45:29):
was just riftastic, it was itwas. It was a blast. Another
one of those like even though ourwives don't appreciate it, certainly one of
the highlights of the podcasting stuff forme was was that looking back on it
again, I got a reference.Girls don't always get it. They right,
the two we were married to getit, I would say, appreciate
(45:52):
it. Yeah, so oh theygot it, and so did we afterwards
like complete earfuls. I think Kurstenand I had been married for like seven
months whenever that happened, and shewas like, this is not what I
was getting into. And I waslike, actually, yeah, you stepped
into this with both feet, toldHeather, and she was like, at
least it wasn't me. So yeah, those are those are the highlights as
(46:15):
far as I guess, I thinkwe can we can still go back to
and like there's where there are deepwells. Tom Leopold's gotta be one of
my top because every time we talkedto him, there's another name that drops
and another project he's working on.I mean again, he just put out
the most insane video. If youhaven't seen it, you've got to go.
(46:37):
Look of him and Paul Shaffer ina candy shop. It's like,
oh, yeah, we've talked aboutthis. The video production is not great,
Like everything seems like they were justin a candy shop together and he
dresses up as Willy Wonka and he'sdoing a dance and he falls over into
a stand of candy bars and ina Paul Shaffer's saying there, I think
(47:00):
with an accordion or something. He'splaying something. I don't remember what it
is. It doesn't it doesn't reallymatter. It's him and Paul Schaeffer in
a candy shop and Tom Leopold isjust falling down and that's really it,
and it's kind of brilliant. TomLeopold in general is pretty brilliant. Yeah,
but uh, and and hanging outat his age with Paul Schaeffer,
(47:22):
his best bud, Yeah, isis pretty pretty awesome. That they're you
know, both trying to make insuranceclaims on candy shops. You know,
yeah, I think that's uh well, that's a well I think that we
can we can coin go to thatwill just turn out like you know,
I hate that I'm to edit thiskiller killer content. There's there's somebody that
(47:47):
I I think we should have backon, and that's a that's Ryan Winders.
Because Winders, even though he's likenobody that one knows on our end,
I do think he's one of thosethat the Wells would go really deep.
My favorite all time person that Ithink that I wish so much we
(48:12):
could talk to and get more stufffrom as Alice. Oh yeah, like
I sled, I stumbled across avideo and there is a very like if
we ever have a Patreon channel, this will be behind the highest paywall,
you know, there will be thisvideo of what probably our our first month
(48:35):
of doing actual video. Yeah.So his name was his name was Don
Don Hilliard. We called him Alicebecause he did not want to be known.
He was going to be our conspiracynumber one. Ye, very into
conspiracies. He was very excited tocome on, but yeah, and he
didn't know what to do so.The very first time we had him on,
our recording stuff didn't work. Wewere still trying to figure it all
(48:57):
out. But he did amazing.Yeah, he got real ind so so
so good. The second time wehad him on, he got nervous,
and I think his conspiracy theories kickedin. He thought when I told him
that the footage was you know, was lost, it wasn't it wasn't working.
That he thought I didn't do agood job. Yeah, instead of
(49:20):
into it. Instead of that Ididn't push the right button. He got
into his head and he got insanelydrunk. Yep, he didn't and started
asking us questions that your doctor shouldonly ask you after about the age of
forty five. Yeah. It wasgreat, It was hilarious. It was
completely it was so funny. Itwas completely unusable for our purposes. Yeah,
(49:42):
I remember the he said, youknow, some people say the camera
puts hunting ten pounds, but foryou guys, it looks like it's about
fifty pounds, and you gotta beusing four cameras. Wow. Yeah,
that was great. Yeah, thatwas He passed a pass a few years
ago, which is a bummer becauseI would have loved and we had talked
(50:05):
about like, all right, let'sfigure out a way to do this and
uh yeah, and then him passedaway. I was that was heartbreaking.
He's somebody I really wish we couldhave gotten back on. Yeah, have
you I know we had talked aboutat one point, you're sharing that footage
with his family? Did you ever? Yeah? Yeah? And I met
his mom at that party or itwasn't the party, it was the wake.
Yeah, but like they were,it was at his house. They
(50:29):
were having a great time. Theywere celebrating him. So that's why I
say a party. But I toldher the story and she she was crying,
but she was also laughing his tea. She loved it. Yeah,
so's he was a great dude. And and even though it would have been
a nightmare to edit every episode hewas in, I would have absolutely loved
it. So He's He's one.And then the episode I think we need
(50:52):
to do again is with Our Wives. Yeah, that is one of our
consistent, most watched and most downloadedepisodes. The wife. The wife episode
will go through this period where it'slike it gets nothing, and then for
like two or three months in arow, it's like up in our top
five most downloaded, and I thinkwhat happens is that like, will we'll
(51:15):
get somebody or we'll find a coupleof people that you know, like the
show, and they're telling their friendsabout it and they're in the car.
This is what how I imagine thisgoes. They're in the car, but
their wife, their wives like theseguys are ridiots, and they're like,
well, you know, look throughjust find one that you want. I
want to listen to them, andthen they go wife episode boom and that's
it and they get to hear firsthandhow difficult it is to wrangle us.
(51:37):
And I think the wives of theguys that listen to us can relate to
those because I think this next roundwould be even more rambunctious. Oh for
sure, right, because they're goingto be more comfortable behind the camera.
Right. But also, but Kurston'smom, and the older I get,
the less I'm caring. Yeah, well, Kurston's a mom. Now Heathers
(52:00):
a high schooler. You know, there's there's a lot of changes and shifts
that have happened in and lifes andlifestyle lockdowns are all over, at least
in Texas where we're at. Soyeah, that would be a be a
maybe I'll take Andrew out for someMargarita's and tell record and bring her here
again. There you go. Ido think there is one thing that I
(52:22):
think we need to talk about.Camden's learning how to play the guitar.
That's freaking awesome, dude. SoI think, and Tina you can tell
us if this is a good ideaor not. I think what we need
to do is we need to getprogress reports via via YouTube shorts from Camden.
(52:44):
But I want him to learn howto play under the Bridge by the
Red Hot Chili Peppers, and thenwe'll just tag groups and all of them
cool. Yep, I can teachyou how to play it cool at least
part of it from what I rememberfrom fifteen years ago. Well, so
we've got thank you guys for watching, and thanks for being here for got
(53:04):
three years plus of the Reverend andthe Reprobate. We've got more great guests
coming to y'all this year. Makesure to like subscribe ing the Little Bell
do all of that stuff, becausehey, we're monetized now, so anytime
you like one of our YouTube shortswhenever they come out, that means we
get a little change in our pocketgoing jangle lang lang, So check that
stuff out. Thanks so much forsupporting the show. If you want to
(53:28):
support us monetarily, just take aroll it up and just shove it into
the US into the USB drive andwe will get it. As long as
you're watching our video. That money, actually facts, is straight to our
wallets. So there you go.And we only have one strike on YouTube.
That's not bad. No it gotexpunged. Okay, well we're no
strikes counting it. We've only everhad. It makes me feel cool to
(53:51):
have a strike on YouTube. TheDanley's got a strike on YouTube. If
we keep in one line that we'veedited out about whether or not the person
that we interviewed has a condition thatwe are not qualified to diagnose, you'll
stay hard to keep jam and we'llsee I'm probably not wrong though,
