am not long, but the chancethat it can. I thought you were
just going up to like check onhim. I didn't realize that the contagion

by the doctors. Just crawled yourway on the cold tile to the doctors,

and they went through a myriad oftesting and cleansing, and it has
matt suit. Yeah. Yeah,but uh, what's going on with you?
I mean the same old stuff.Kirsten is still pregnant, which is
great. Do you want to heara funny story. I'll hear one in
a second. So, so that'sgoing on those who have been like kind
of keeping up with the saga ofmy parents over the last year and a

half. Dad's got a lung scancoming up that'll let us know whether or
not like his lungs have recovered,or whether or not he needs a lung
transplant. So yeah, so thatenough to transplant. I mean yes,
no, no, no, it'sone or the other. It is you're
good or you need a lung transplant. There's no middle ground in what this
scan is gonna show us. Dang. Yeah, so crazy style going to

cough up a lung. No,that's something you can do, like here's
a kidney, here's a lung.So that it's not I know it's not
you. You can't, but theypart like to do it part of your
lung. You can't give one awhole long. Yeah, you can.
You can go you can go onlyright, you could go you want to
go right only? And now Iwould go left only. I feel like
the when I get like the burningfrom the asthma, I would give Dad

my asthma lung. I wouldn't givehim like you're still at the end of

of all the things you can gettransplants with, it's the one that's like

least amount of success, hardest onthe body. So yeah, that's a
that sucks. That's the wonderment ofof what's in front of us. So
that's what's been that's what's been going. And I'm butchering my own meat now
I know that is really so proudof you, Thank you. I have
not gotten to that level. Ithink when I need first as a good
sharpener, a good knife sharpener,yeah, because mine are all dull as

crap. I've got one that that'spretty good. But how do you not
like you don't own any knife sharpener. I just don't think that they work.
I don't think either they work orI'm not doing it right. Okay,
And I see what kind of knifesharpeners do you have? Well,
I've seen one on TikTok do.I want the one that has a man
that you stuck on the stick onthe end. You've got different level of
group. I want minimal effort knifesharpening. I want accuracy. Uh,

I don't want like we saw thisat a flea market where it was on
sale as seen on TV at Walmart. Yeah, I want a good knife,
sharp sharpenter. Yeah, but that'snot where we're here to talk about.
I mean, what is it?Not? Is it not? I
don't I don't care about knives anymore. I mean, I like knives,
but I don't want to continue.It sounds like you like you do care

about knives, because I do.You don't have one sharp one in your
house, and it seems to bereally messing. It's irking me. You're
a culinary kid, it's irking me. I don't have any knives that I
would trust with butchering. Okay,that's right way to say it. If
I'm butchering my own meat, andi'd buy a big section of cow,
I gotta cut out. I gota carve out eight ribis. I'm gonna
be there a while. So theuh, the work sharp knife and tool

sharpenter. That's the one that we'vegot. It's a little like belt sharpener
that it sits on your countertop.And you can just switch the belt the
grinding belts and the angles of it, and there's so there's different levels of
sharpening. They're like, oh,if you want to be a woodsman,
of if you want this, andthen the sharpest level is just called bragging
rights. And oh the bragging rights. We've got two kitchen knives that be

sharpened to that and we just throwgrapes at the knife and it just cuts
them right into perfect It's amazing.You do you do the paper test?
Yeah? Oh yeah, okay,yeah, mine doesn't do that. Yeah,
but you could take a raw tomatoand drop it on the knives and
it just splits them wide open.You should bring a knife over. I'll
show you had to sharpening. Idon't feel like I have strong sharpening skills

nor the correct tools. That's whereI'm at. Well, okay, well,
if you bring him over, usethis. There's particulars tools, or
I can buy the one on TikTokand yeah, the tunnel. There's a
guy, the butcher Wizard. Yeahhe's got a Yeah he uses a little
tumbler, but only because they sponsorhim. He used to just say like
buy this one knock knife off Amazon. It's forty bucks. And when it

gets dull, it's so cheap,throw it away and buy a new one.
And now he's like, no,look at this knife. Throw your
money in the trash, spend onetime, three easy payments. Chef Tony
with the miracle blades. Uh,they'll never go dull. Then two years

later and half of America is like, this knife is crap. All right,
can tell my story if you must. Why are you being a choch?
I don't understand the reference. Idon't know either, yeah, uh
yeah, okay, So we'll seewhat you think about the story. I'm
ready, Camden, are you mikeOn? Okay? Yeah? Are you?
Are you ear muffed on? You'reprobably old enough? Are you?

Oh? Gosh? Old enough?Is that? But it is? I
think I got endless joy out ofthis. But it does. It starts
with the comedy shows that the churchhas been putting on. Yes, so
we've seen moody, malabby, moody, Kristen Webber, Isaac Whitty, take

it away now, Kristen Witty,yep, Isaac Whitty again, the Webber
Witties, yep. Robert Smiley hascome a ka Bob and average boy.
He was the most recent one,Yeah and coming, and Brandon was also
on the Brandon too. Yeah yeah, why can't I remember? Uh?

But what's Brandon's last name? Yeah? I'm drawn a blank too. Yeah.
Well, because no, we won't. This is the most he needs
to know. He's not the he'snot a comic we remember well. And
also he's not the only brand Brandon. He's also not the only Brandon that

the funniest because I don't know Brandon'sor the comedy. I don't know how

I'm gonna tell that story. I'mgonna start over because I want to
tell this story. All right.So there have been comedy shows that are
happened in the church that we wonvery several. There was one very recently.
There's one coming up Robert g Leeand Corey Edwards. This one was
Bob Smiley put on by the WebberWitties. I think it's just whitties.

I know, I think it's funnierto say it that way. No text,
Isaac Hey, Isaac Webber Witty.Uh So, so they put it
on. They brought very friend who'swho's an awesome comedian. It's very funny.
We we're wanting to go kind oflast minute. We texted some friends.
Had the text a couple of ourfriends, it's how you want to
go, We'll give them tickets online. Good Brandon with the new teeth Teeth.

(09:48):
And then her other friend, Andreawas going to her name. Yeah,
she she's the She's this is thestory is about her. Okay,
this is a really weird seating arrangementthat you guys has had. Yep.
So I'll get there. Okay,I'll get there. The reason for the
seating arrangement because I'm back there.Let me get there. As we're recording
this show, I get I seeinto it and this was strange to me.

(10:13):
Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna getthe entire time. Okay. Cool.
So so I'm glad I'm finally gettingto explace Heather. Heather text her
and says, Hey, we wantto go to comedy show. We're gonna
Dan. Yes, We're gonna buysome tickets online. We'd love you to
come. She doesn't get out veryoften. She's a register nurse are in.
Yeah, she's also not tall enoughto do a lot of things.
She's not. She needs someone todrive her, so so she comes over

(10:35):
and she's the first thing, thefirst tame is coming and going to a
comedy show. She walks in,she's all dressed up. She goes,
I dressed up. You know.She doesn't something, you know, gives
them one a little twirl. Wego, oh, that's great. It's
you know, we're gonna congratulate.We're gonna go get some food. On
the way. It's all adults.The kids are taken care of, the
people are watching them. Which youdidn't bring your son to watch his favorite

(10:58):
comedian. I'm just saying he didn'twant to. Oh. Also knife Also,
yeah, he was hanging out withall the kids, right, they're
having fun. Yeah. Also,this isn't this is an adult's night out.
We're having fun. So we getsome food, We have some Margarita's.

(11:18):
I tell or she says, oh, I'm a lightweight. I don't
know if I can. You know, I don't. I don't know.
And we go, well, youdon't have to, but if you want
to, you know, it's acomedy show and be fun. So she
gets one. Uh, we goto Bucky's. We sniff all the candles,
we get some beer nuggets. It'sa great time. We all get
Buckis has candles. They have aton of candles, and they're all very
funny names, too weird. Sowe spend some time there. Okay,

(11:39):
it's just that's not a like anecessary part of the story. But we
were making a knife, spending alot of time on it for it to
be a just I'm testing. I'mtelling the story, boy are you.
So we're driving from Fort Worth toLake Dallas, which is very far.
We start getting forty five minutes.It's like anywhere in DFW. So we
start getting we start getting closer,and she goes, Hey, where where

are we going? Where's this?Where's the club? And then it dawns
at me that we didn't tell herthat it was at a church. So
Heather says, oh, it's atit's at a church, and she kind
of laughs, you know, andwe go, no, it's at church,
and she goes, ayah ha ha, And so we pull up into
the church. She goes, church, you're telling me I wore leather pants

(12:28):
at a Margharita, what are youdoing it's at a church. She starts
freaking out, and I'm sitting inthe driver's seat going this is the funniest
thing that's happening tonight, like forsure, hands down, we didn't tell
her. We didn't tell her,and we didn't tell her is at a
church? And Heather goes, no, but like, of course it's fine.
Sure. In that moment, asouthern, a southern lady that is

(12:54):
a pretty conservative had a Margarita puton leather pants and her friends brought her
to church. Okay, so Itell her said calm down, which is
not supposed to I said, calmdown, right, Yeah, everything will
be fine. We'll have Heather onone side, me on one side,

(13:15):
will be with you. It's great. It's gonna be fun. We're gonna
laugh. And she goes, shegoes, I'm a sinner, I'm a
center. I shouldn't be here.I said, you're fine. This is
a this is a church. Weare having fun. It's okay. So
we go in and I sit downnext to her. We're having a good
time. But the whole time,all through the whole show, I keep

thinking, that was the funniest thingthat just happened in the car. So
this is why, because this isthis is what I see all that,
right, I see this row offive which has been completely occupied by these
adults that have come without the children'sthe child who says Bob Smiley's his favorite

(13:58):
comedian was a long time ago.So I'm no, it's Louis c.
K. That's a great, greatstep but it's not really he doesn't know
who that is. Okay, good, good, not a not a guy
who would give a Google to Kale, but it's it's a good Brandon with

(14:18):
the new teeth. His girlfriend sayyour wife, this are her best friend?
Yeah, and then you on theend, and I'm like, why
is Dan not sitting next to Iwas helping her keep her crap under control
because she was fully freaking out becauseof leather pants and having a couple of

(14:46):
margaritas for a lightweight. Yeah,yeah she was, and not being told
that if you hang out with me, she was, and we go hang
out and have some drinks, Imight take you to church. Yeah.
She was a normally quite funny he'slaughing. Yeah, she she was a
normally quiet at this show, exceptfor the elevator thing that she did at

the because she the whole Yeah,I forgot about that. She was horrified.
She's like, did you seem todo the elevator for Lucas? Like,
yeah, okay to be okay,so what that means so we can
we can put a definition to whateverexplanation you might have come up with.
But that is so I am.I'm running the production into the show of

(15:28):
the show, right, so allthe av stuff, this is stuff,
and I'm recording and all that stuff. So I'm in I'm in the booth
yea. And she goes, shecome up and the booth is is elevated.
Now mind you, like we've alreadystated she's not a real tall person,
and so I can see like hernose and up like she from she's

(15:50):
a showty, but she's not myshowty. I think those are spelled different.
But you're on the right track.So she pretends like she's walking down
the stairs. But I looked atit, and she looks back and she
was like, ha, do youget it. I was going down the
stairs, but it was one step. She took one step and then disappeared.
And I was like, oh,you know, yeah, I like

(16:10):
the elevator better. And so sheshe is the elevator. She was having
done that about that do the elevator. Oh my gosh, I'm so stupid.
I was like it was fine.Also like what it's me like,
what That's not the dumbest thing I'veseen her do. I don't know,

(16:33):
I mean not in the same stfreak out pulling into the church. The
me having to d escalate and belike, oh my gosh, it's gonna
be okay was the funniest thing ofthe whole night. And as soon as
I I just didn't believe that itwas out of change. I held it
together until I got back into thetruck, and then I died laughing.
So you you kept it together theentire show. I shouldn't say ken together.

I laughed the show. It wasvery it was very funny. My
favorite, okay, my favorite wasI think Isaac's line of it's so hot
here he's a transplant, this isfirst summer, we haven't had any rain
and uh, and he tells someof his friends after a breeze, he
says, man, we really neededthat wind. I think I was the

only one that laughed at that,but I laughed pretty hard. His the
new stuff that he tried out wasso good and and it's all very very
like I wanted. I want totalk about it, but I don't want
to talk about it because it's there, it's their stuff. Go check out
there. Uh that many comic stuffbecause a lot of it's already well,

a lot of it's already shown up. Special with the with the wind joke,
No no, no, that's butthere are you you aren't. But
there are other things that I like, really like that sun you want to
go, like point or the thingabout the phone. Yeah right, really
good, And like the way thatthey put it together was great. They've
they got a bunch of new stuffon their wheels and Instagram that the y

all should go check. Bob Smileywas great. He was Isaac was my
favorite. I mean it's it's hardto top his comedic style and timing for
people who grew up in our era. Yeah right, like he he knows
exactly how to get people in ourdemographic and our at range to laugh with

you know. Apparently it's a jokeabout wind and and about being old.
Yeah right, yeah, yeah,because that's the kind of thing that old
people say. Now, but that'smy story. So if you come drinking
with me, be careful. Imight take you to church. So what
a week? What are we constituting? Like? That was a that was

a crafted joke, right, yeah, handcrafted. Yeah, that's it.
That's it. That's it. That'sthe story mixologized by Dan. It was.
It was. It was tumbled andshaken and not stirred, poured over
ice. So, okay, sothere's a there's a thing about the shaken
and not stirred stuff. Have youhave you heard this? Do you know

about this? James Bond? Youheard about the shaken and not stirred thing.
Why James Bond did it? Ibelieve I did. I don't remember
why. So it has to dowith Christopher Lee, right, the guy
who James Bond is based off of. Okay, so, yeah, so
a old gold gold digger, golddigger. So when a margarita is stirred,

or sorry, not a margarita,When a martini is stirred, all
of the parts pushed together. Whenit's shaken, they separate, and so
when mixes better what you're saying,it mixes better when you stir it.
When you shake it, it doesn'tmix as well. The different parts of
it tend to stay separate and toseparate quicker. Right. So the reason

that he wanted it shaken and notstirred is because he get sip the top
of them the martini and get likethe vermouth and all of the other things
that make the better flavors. Butit wouldn't actually get very much of the
alcohol, but not not get thevodka and gin, and Casey had to
shoot somebody or while he was gatheringit from a smart or just playing poker,
like you gotta you know, youstill want to keep your wits about

if you're playing with galen Urso it'sgonna be really difficult, you know,

that was like the only episode Ibelieve, right, Like, there's been
very little of them actually showing up. So there's there's I think two or

three episodes with the Purgles in them, So you've got the first appearance of
them in the early seasons, andthen there may be two episodes of the
Pergols at the end. But thevery last episode is the one that that
really brings it all home. Yeah, They're They're very cool. I don't
know. I don't know why itis in the mouth. I don't know
why they're attracted to her other thanthe Force, I guess is the show

it's they don't say medicans, no, no, no, gosh, no
are you talking about? It attractedher in the sense of like she was
able to go and communityeah, communicatewith it. That's something that they exploring
Rebels a little bit, and it'sdone a little bit also in the Clone
War series is that through the Forceyou can have some communication with critters.

cool. It did. It wasvery cool. It did seem like an
easy writing solution of how are theygonna find throne. It's like, oh,
well, well, let's get somewhales to come. The Jedi will
talk to her and they'll take herto the throne. Well, if you
if you remember back in the ithad to have been the Mandalorian right when

she goes and he finds this lady, she fights him and what season two,
Okay, she captures the lady whoescapes. In the very first episode
of Asoka, that lady is lookingfor thrown and so she has gone because
the Pargols follow the same migration routes. She went to the place where she
knows that they convene, and that'swhere she discovered that not only do they
follow the same migration routes, butalso the Jets, well, the Jedi

used them as transportation or their migrationroutes as hyperspace lanes for a long time.
So it is on the one hand, it's like the convenient thing,
but it's also, like, Asokasaid, like, I don't know this
is going to be the right one. I think we just could be going
somewhere into space along their migration tosome sweet Rill Yang the David Tennant the

robot. Yeah, what do youthink about doctor or who being who?
Yang? I love David TENNANTT Yeah, yeah, the character's cool. It
just seems weird to me. Whywhy you need that guy as vocal talent
when you're going to modulate his voiceand make him a robot? Like,

is this is this one of thosethings where because he's got star power he
gets to be end Star Wars.I don't know, But because there are
a lot of folks that are likethat, they add Matt Berry to some

I don't there's two people I don'tneed in Star Wars, Matt Burry and
Taiko Watit. I need them.I don't care about type them out.
So Matt Berry is actually I can'tthink of I can't think of a character

that they could bring him in.I don't know, I don't know,
but it would be great. Hewould have to be an alien, He'd
have to be he'd have to becomedic relief too, because he's like,
you could use him in one ofthe carts playing straight. Yeah. Yeah.
His characters are always in Here andTucson and Arizonia. He's got this
which doesn't exist in Star Wars.Yeah, yeah, I know, I
stole that from what we do thisshow. How would he say cause sheics

something? It's pret Yeah, butyeah, it's great. Matt Barry or
Asoka it's great? Or are youboth ending Ahsoka? Yeah? Asoka's green.
I'm very much enjoying it. I'veloved Hayden Christensen's return. He didn't.
Yeah, it was so good.And the flash between like Anakin and

Darth, which is what I knewalap Forth because she says this is the
only thing you got, And Iwent, no, he's got the dark
side. M yep, there wassomething. There was something that kind of
irritated me about those flashbacks and thosescenes. So Asoka's now got white lightsabers,
and the reason that she is.I think you can see it in

(25:45):
Tales of the Jedi, but it'salso in E. K. Johnston's book
about Asoka. She left her originalgreen lightsabers behind when she left the Jedi
Order and then ended up reconstructing newlightsabers out of a sithe kiber crystals that
she purified. So she's the onlyperson we know of that has white lightsabers.

(26:07):
So like the lightsaber goes from blueto green or whatever when you make
the lightsaber bleed because of the darkside of the forest, she purified them.
Now they turned white. You've gother in the flashback when she's really
young Asoka, she's got the singlegreen lightsaber when they're at this whatever battle
of the Clone Wars. Then whenshe's fighting Anakin and she's supposed to be
a little older, she has twowhite lightsabers with the old hilts. And

(26:30):
this is where I've dived down,like the super nerdy stuff, old hilts,
white lightsabers. Yeah, so sheshouldn't have them in that combination,
right, it shouldn't be in thatcombination. But again, like because it's
a dream sequence, it's this worldbetween worlds, Like there's all kinds of
like shifting and weird and weird meldingstuff. But yeah, I saw that,
and I was like, on thelike those should be grains space wells.

(26:52):
Yeah, yeah, I guess certainlylike this has been in reality stuff,
but it is one of those whereI'm like, all right, are
they are they try trying to showus like how off this is? And
the dream sequence because DAFFIONI doesn't missany of that stuff, Yeah, like
that's all very intentional, Like eachone of those things. Is him like
trying to communicate something. Well,got a pan for this? Yeah,
oh for sure? Right, justlike but but that's the kind of stuff

that for me is fun to lookat, is to look at that and
be like, Okay, I feelthis would not be a continuity issue that
would be missed. So is thishim like trying to communicate Like, Okay,
she's now she's at this part whereshe's a little bit more mature,
but now she's also kind of startingto figure out where she's at mentally,

that she is kind of in thisnew place and you're seeing that transition because
it is a lot of stuff likethat that's very I would say subtle like
that. That's the right way toput it, very subtle in order to

they've they've done some shuffling around.And I have to say one thing about

my grenned that's consistently impressive, impressive, impressive. Is he no matter who
you put him with, whether itwas Grego or you know, the other

in the last few years was tellingLevi's story, right, because that was
one that was it was really tough. It was filled with like a lot

podcast, it's probably one where wewere able to peel back the curtain on
like what's actually going on and inour lives the best and on top of

that, really the feedback that I'vegotten since that episode aired from other people
who have had kids in the Nikefrom nurses and the Nike who have shared
that with other parents that were inthe you know, the Nikke that that
we were in and for so manyof the you know people we know that

like had a friend who's got aNike baby and they're like, you know,
I didn't know what to do.So I just shared that episode with
them from your podcast, and Ireally gave them a lot of comfort and
let them know about you know,God's grace and that there is a light
at the end of the tunnel andyou don't have to be scared about all
this stuff. Like all of thatwas was very encouraging on you know,
on the back end of it,because that was a not only was it
like a trying thing, but itwas a difficult It was a difficult story

to tell without like just completely beinglike overcome by all of the things that
happened, and especially you know,going back through the timeline, there were
so many things that that happened thatwe didn't talk about. It didn't get

take it off. Yeah, So, but I don't know that. First
off, I don't know that thatis his diagnosis. I certainly don't think
that we can diagnose that. You'relike, I don't know how to go

of the show. Do this,you do this. It's like about halfway
through the episode, decides he's KevinFrance and just it's all the way back.
You know what, I'm not comfyone. Yeah, and there's a

she have an agenda doing? Ohfor sure. It started with us commenting
on this guy's book that was beingreleased, and he was doing the launch

he thought stuff was wrong and sohe like takes his video down, but
since we can hear him, wecan hear him try to fix his audio

she's like, hey, watch yourstuff. With our mutual acquaintance, it
was very funny. I think you'llneed to apologize, and we were like,

what I think I started? Thisis like our kind of humor and
then he shows up in the greenroom and we go live like ten seconds
later. Well, when we wentlive, we had the countdown and because
she didn't immediately jump in, Idid eat it. It was great.
And then we took over her showfor like the launched into our intro like
a half hour. Oh yeah,welcome, welcome to the show. It

was just riftastic, it was itwas. It was a blast. Another
one of those like even though ourwives don't appreciate it, certainly one of
the highlights of the podcasting stuff forme was was that looking back on it

like complete earfuls. I think Kurstenand I had been married for like seven
