(00:11):
Welcome to the Scotty and Sylvia Show, where we speak our minds like it's
our full time job and have somuch fun doing it. I am Scotty
Beam, you know, just celebratingher birthday again. It is now November
and I am still getting birthday cakes. Okay, So I think this is

(00:31):
the last time, guys, AndI'm Sylvia Obell and I'm never getting on
the plane again. Yep, hey, friend, how are you doing this
week? No? No, no, how are you doing this week?
Sylvia? You know? Yeah?Go ahead? You know? What what
do we know? I know, but I don't think they know. So
what did you do after Austin,Texas? Actually talk to us about Austin,

(00:56):
Texas? Friend? We should becauseI'm also a survivor of a bad
attack, and I would like everybodyto take this more serious. I am
here as a survivor, not avictim, but a survivor. Okay,
what happened? So I was atAfro Tech last week, guys. I

(01:19):
had two panels. The first oneI was the panelist soon was about paving
your Way media. Both were inthe same location, mindrew. That one
was in the early afternoon when Iwent on went out of hitch came,
we left, We laughed boom.Around four thirty, was coming back to
do a one on one conversation withmers Sion Martin uh for the one We
All Vote initiative, Michelle Obama's initiative, and you know, mar Size nineteen.

(01:45):
Should I get gen Z to vote? You know, try to galvan
people doing the work, you knowwhat I mean. But when I tell
you voning suppression is real, bordersuppression is real, that right, wings,
Then when I tell you that theyare really starting early to keep us
away from the fucking poles, theyare releasing bats. Bats. They're releasing

(02:13):
bats into our conversations about the importanceof voting. I know, I learned
that Austin apparently Austin, Texas isknown to be a popular bat location.
Didn't know that they're not supposed tobe inside though we were inside the theater
for those who are wondering, thoughwe were not outdoors. Halfway through the
conversation, about fifteen minutes in toa thirty minute convo, I started to

(02:36):
see a little well, I thinkit's a bird. I think it's a
bird, and I'm like, Isee it, and I'm like, is
that a bird? At first, like, who are a burden here?
But you know the door early southside, so I said, maybe once
snuck in. And then it startedto get a little and I know that
black people are afraid A lot ofblack people are afraid of birds. I'm
not afraid of birds, but that'swhere the line is drawn, so I
said jokingly, because I saw itstirring up some of the audience, I

(02:58):
was like, is that a bird? And then I said, as long
as it's not a bad I'm good, like ha ha ha ha, right,
and then the whole audience set backlike like it was calling and response
to church. They said it's abassist, I said, I said,
excuse me, because you know howthe lights on stage you can't really see.

(03:20):
I said excuse me, and Isaid, woll y'all could have lied
to me so I could keep going. And I was like, she fucked
up and called me on bird birdand flew right over Sylvia's head. Boy.
We tried to push past it.I made a couple of jokes by
Mercede myrside didn't have her glasses on, so she couldn't see at first,
and I said, keep them moth'sthis but the problem is is that the

(03:40):
lights in the thing. It's likeyou just keep seeing shadow, shadow,
so you don't know where it is, where it's coming from. You just
seeing the shadow and the bird itselfbecause it's flying around all the stage lights,
so it's getting scarier and scarier. And eventually it hits a girl and
the audience like it flies. Itflies into a girl in the audience.
And when you see Marci hit thelittle Kim on the ground of the cliff,

(04:04):
we get to the ground, wedunk and we say, oh,
hell no, this is over.I said, goodbye, guys, this
is not in our contract. Werun off the stage. WHOA. I
run back for the cell phones, and Recie's back for a drink, and

(04:25):
we run off that stand faster thanwe've ever ran before. Did anybody do
a vibe check on the girl thatwas hit by the back? I couldn't
tell who it was because I said, you know how the audience is dark
and we're in the theater. Ican't. All I saw was the people
around sis react and like it flewinto them. And I said, oh,
that's have rabies. That's might turnyou into a vampire. We have

(04:47):
not confirmed, n I don't know, so all I know is that I
wasn't being paid enough to risk mylife or my health, and I shouldn't.
I had to protect the baby.Tried my best around and she was
on her own. But her parentsare backstage like thank you for cutting it
short. Because even people backstage werelike whoa Like I just kept flying everywhere.

(05:10):
It was hilarious after the fact thatthe fact that Niggas was afraid but
still hit records. All of youin the artist and I knew. I
knew the second I started to flailaround and run, I said, we're
going viral. We're about to goviral for all the wrong reasons. Got
out. Oh my god, there'sa Getdy picture of us. There's a

(05:32):
picture. The Blavity posted the clip. Everybody thought it was a he he
ha ha. When I tell youthe whole night, the rest of the
night, girl dad back like everybodywanted to come up to me with a
video. The Getty pictures. Ihave not seen. They are dropping them
for me live right now, guys, and I have never thought that these

(05:54):
Why would these add thel? Iwant you to. I wish that we
could post these because it's a waySylvia is already up standing, already has
not yet gotten up. She's stillsitting on Sylvia is on her way out.
She was about to go stage right, but baby girl, they left.

(06:18):
I did because I realized that therewas no exit that way. I
was pivoting. I'm from Jersey,y'all. I also went to an HBCU.
I know how to run when troublewas a miss. I was not
expecting that for my weekend. Ireally wasn't. Oh, that ship was
so funny, you I was expectedbecause this is crazy. Black people don't

(06:41):
do bats anyway. The point hereis, guys, for those who think
that your vote doesn't matter. Ifthey if it didn't matter, they wouldn't
be trying this hard to keep youfrom them. Probably was a drone,
okay, because they know what hewere scared of. They know we was
in Texas too. We was inTexas, yep. So I survived that.

(07:05):
And then because I this is whatyou know. Sometimes in life,
Oh, I love when somebody starts. Sometimes in life I know the bullshit
is coming right after, because hereit is. You just need to make
a chaotic choice to spice things up, you know what I mean, pie

(07:29):
up your life as a morning.A famous pop group once said spice up
sometimes you gotta spice up your life. And I decided that I was too
close to North Carolina to not goto homecoming. But I was like,
I'm bags are packed, m I'malready in the South, I'm already gonna

(07:51):
have to go on a plane today. Why not just go to North Carolina
instead. It was a difference betweencoming home on Friday night or coming home
Sunday. So I guess that takesme two days. But my point is
that I regret nothing good, butyes, no happy like HBCU homecoming season.

(08:13):
I believe A and T was oneof the last weekends. I think
they're all wrapped up by now.Great time, Love my eggs, love
my campus. Love are collective cuttingup this and shout out to everybody who
both on when we me and Scottiewent to spell House and then when I
went to homecoming, poured so muchinto us in the podcast, like people

(08:35):
pulled me aside and talking about whatit means to them, all of those
great things, professors saying they're proud, like something about going back to where
everything was still just a dream.Every time I talk about it, it's
like it's like it just really groundsyou, and it it just is a
great way to feel grateful and humbleand all of these things because like literally

(09:00):
I'm like it ten years ago ormore than ten years ago now, like
you, if you would have toldme what my life was now, I
wouldn't have believed you. So thatwas great, always a good time,
and it's a great reminder of howeverything has a starting point and that growth
is inevitable. You will get better. I think when we were going through

(09:24):
Clark Campus and also going through likespell House, I had those same thoughts
about like, you know, justit started here, My thoughts and dreams
of wanting to do something different startedhere. And also seeing the faces of
people who started with you and youknew so many different versions of you because

(09:48):
you know, you've grown, you'veevolved, so you're a different person.
But I think the people that knewyou from freshman year of college and that
know you now, I think lookingat them, I don't know, it
hits different. The affirmation from themhits different because they was there because they
know they were on the ground Doyou understand they were on the ground floor,

(10:09):
and like you know that they lovedyou and rocked with you when there
was no reasons, like literally whenwe want nothing, just loved me for
me so and to be so proudfor them to be so proud of us,
like it means everything. It meanseverything to make them proud. But
yeah, but also speaking of lovethat we've been getting for the show,

(10:33):
we have also started realizing that y'allhave been leaving the show reviews on Spotify
and it's just really been warm inyour heart. First of all, thank
you for everybody who's rating and commentingas leaving reviews on both Apple Podcasts and
Spotify both matter a lot. Sohey, if you have it and you
have a little some on your heart, you know, please continue to But

(10:58):
we definitely want to read a couplethat really just warmed this up. The
first one is from last week's episodeGreen Flag, Red No. Two weeks
ago, episode sixteen, Green Flag, Red Flag, featuring Doctor Joy.
Some listeners said, love this andevery one of the episodes of the Scottie
and Sylvia Show. I find myselfsmiling, laughing, tearing up sometimes and

(11:22):
learning it's my place of joy.We love Joy. Yes. The other
one, I think this review isfrom episode fifteen Oysters forty eight Oysters in
County. I love that title somuch. Somebody said, congrats on the

(11:43):
billboards, so deserved. Have toagree with your drake take. Never thought
hype would be more about controversy thanquality bars well, not provoking. I
know that's right. Welcome to hiphop, ye, and thanks for the
billboard or guys, that did happen? So much has happened? Bro It

(12:03):
happened. So much has happened thatI couldn't even get to our bill board.
My sister had to remind me thatit's a blessing to be so booked
that you can't see your own board, Like that's crazy. Find out it's
just because it's so crazy. Theother next Listener reviews from episode thirteen,
Beyond the Stars Funny and The featuringDanielle reads the Bitch Down. I listicks

(12:31):
to this day. A lot ofy'all keep stopping us and saying, hey,
all right, that girl really gotin there. That's so crazy,
Like some of y'all take a littleto his pleasure in it. Anyway.
Some of you commented saying love this. I'm such an astrology nerd. It's
so great for self awareness. Greatshow. Ladies. I appreciate you guys

(12:52):
being vulnerable with us. Thank you, thank you for the appreciation. Cause
baby, sometimes that will as we'regoing to get Baby. That was crazy.
I was rewatching some of those videos. I would watch its, watching
our mannerisms and it's like, oh, like you could tell it was uncomfortable,

(13:16):
Like we were both like this isThere's a lot of movement happened.
One of them is my favorite memeof myself. It's now my header on
Twitter. But I was like this, Like if you go to Twitter and
I'm just like this, that's likemy header on Twitter now by becoming my
profile pictures, It's just crazy. It just really encapsulated how I felt in

(13:37):
that moment. Personalities you lean inand I'm like, away, lean back,
right, because I need to makesure we know what's going on.
But yeah, so speaking about thethings that we feel and how we feel
on certain things, let's talk aboutsome of these things that are happening lately.

(13:58):
Because we can just start by saying, Megan is Stallion, the girl
dropped the new music video for hersong Cobra when she funded herself, She's
independent now. Shout out to her, Yeah, shout out to the girls,
who's still in her own pocket.I'll do it myself, doing it

(14:20):
herself. Now the lyrics, Idon't know how you're gonna be dancing the
club to this. But I don'tthink it's I don't think this was for
the I don't know. I was. I was doing a little bomb,
but was like this pussy depressed.I was like, damn, that's crazy.
The girl said, that's a barthe girls, the girls on excess.
This pussy is depressed. They said, that's a bar for the ages.

(14:46):
Ye. I had never personally thoughtto put it that way, babe.
I see, I see, Isee where I was going with that.
I see where I was going withit. I see how it fits
into how she talks about pussy ingeneral. It is pussy rapping. Sometimes
pussy rap is the rest, andI think that's I think that's the point.
Hot girls get sad too. Meggothas had a cup I mean,

(15:07):
from her mother dying to that likenow, like she has been through things
that I wouldn't wish all my worstenemy, you know, a parent's death,
being scammed by her like people whotry to help her up, being
attacked by her friend, and thenbeing lied on and made villainized for just

(15:28):
you know, trying to protect herselfand have her legal rights, and then
when it turned out to be true, y'all still didn't give her her just
do that and shout it out publicly, publicly ridiculed and harassed and called a
liar, only to be told itwas the truth, and everybody shut up
and didn't give their apologies. Andthen on top of that, coming home
and your nigga is getting neck fromsome bitch in your house any your bed.

(15:52):
Urban Dictionary definition moment spotlight neck.I mean I want to. I
want to get. The more youknow, I want to, the more
you know rab neck is oral sex. No, I love it. I
just wanted to. I just knewmaybe somebody somewhere out there in the Midwest

(16:17):
was a black girl who said huh. And I just want her to know,
you know, head, oral sex, whatever you may call, it's
going through all of them. Sheinsinuates that party cheated. She did not
name him by name, but that'sthe only man that she's been publicly claimed
a relationship with. And she said, you know, it was happening in

(16:37):
the same place she laid her headat, which is crazy in my in
the in the beds and I'm sleepingin you going cheat on me when I'm
in the middle of all of thisis wild And a lot of the girls
spelt the same way, because baby, they they've been tearing him up,
tearing him up is as up ashe should because he gets on instant Braham

(17:00):
and does he lean out, doeshe apologize? Does he say, hey,
I fucked up, guys, You'reright, it happens sometimes to stress,
But no, he shows he chowsviolence. Nope. He posts Future
a future like video that was oldthat says it's an evil, it's a

(17:21):
it's up the future posted probably whenhe got caught cheating back sometime in twenty
sixty. I don't know, butlike Future like, it's known for his
you know, his ways, andso it was also a Scorpio God blessed.
It's Scorpio season, guys, andwe're trying to tell y'all's it's not
safe. It ain't stay, itain't stafe, it ain't safe. You

(17:44):
know, niggas aren't terrifying. Butyou know one Scorpio nigga who seems to
be getting it a little right. And I'm really blown away by this Nelly
Nellie and it's shaty. This niggais so harder than when he stole Christmas.
It's like it is all his teeth. I don't think I've ever seen

(18:07):
this money in Nelly's teeth. Andthis man has a song about grills and
I never seen this money of histeeth before shown every tooth. Being with
Ashanti and Ashanti is what a librajust and she's so happy baby, because

(18:44):
let me tell you something, sookay. We've been seeing them ever since
the verses the Fat Joe jar roversus when Nelly hugged Ashanti. That was
the first public moment of them returningwhere we all said, oh, and
then I feel like since that day, I don't he ain't like And this
year they confirmed it. You know, she she came out in a very
head ass way that that was myfirst clue that the girl was gone with

(19:08):
the purse of the VMA's of apicture of her and Nelly, and I
said, wow, my girl,my girl, whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa
whoa whoah in your forties to dosome like that is like, baby,
what are you doing? Girl? But so you know, I've seen it,
and I've been hesitating just because, like I did like them together.

(19:30):
But you know, I know thesame thing about circling the block always there's
always a reason you broke up.I do think that they took enough time
up. It's been about a decadesince they were together. That is a
good amount of time. I wouldsay, I'm not an advocate for pending
the block too soon, But ifyou guys have gone your separate ways,
maybe learn some lessons, have somehealing, and come back to each other.

(19:56):
I can see how maybe you havea fighting chance. What are your
thoughts on the like A defa ladermfor it only Like you said, though,
ten years plus ten years is theis the minimum? Maybe five?
I mean the girls are like old, maybe five. I think the older
you get, the less like youknow, if where are you in your

(20:18):
twenties, give a ten in yourthirties, maybe give it five in your
forties, maybe less you know,But like I just think that the main
thing is that lessons have to havebeen learned, hard talks have to have
been discussed. Healing has to happen. You can't sweep things under the rug
and get back into it. Itreally happened to be. There has to
be a sit down where you guysare discussing why I broke up and whatever

(20:41):
conversation that wasn't had before has tohappen now, and also how we've changed
our behaviors from before now because Idon't want to look into the same.
That's the fear. You don't dothings to present itself in your big ass
age, especially if y'all were datingin your twenties and y'all you're in the

(21:02):
thirties and you feel like you've madeso much, like so much growth and
so much you've done so much workjust to regress and do the same shit
y'all were doing in twenty three twentyfive, It makes no sense. So
what I would say is that yousit down, y'all talk and have and
not just one talk. I needseveral talks. I want to know maybe
maybe some couples counselor to be honest, like yeah, some media things,

(21:26):
And I just hope that Ashanti andNelly have gone through some way of that
process. I don't know, guys. I mean, they look happy now
and I'm gonna be happy for themnow, and I would love for this
to be it because the only thingworse the game play than the Nigga wants
is game play by Nigga twice terrifying. So I'm wishing them the best.

(21:51):
I can't believe you Thinkgas really doingit, though, I'm like, well,
do you think it is really doingit? They really spit in the
block. But speaking of legends, all the legends, Missielli got inducted into
the Rock and Roll Hall of Famethat she fucking should have years ago.
But here we are right now celebratingit. Clean Mytifa gave her, you
presented it to her. It wasincredible to see. You know, We've

(22:12):
talked about Missy Elliott so many timeson this podcast simply because I think she's
just she's She's an example of steppingand coloring outside the lines and making it
a masterpiece. She knows how tojust compose. She's a great composer.

(22:32):
She's a great musician. She's justgreat in every aspect of the word as
far as music is concerned. Butalso from what I'm reading and what I
continue to learn about Missy Elliott asa person, she is a great person.
People show up for Missy Elliott.Don't nobody miss it. Missy Elliott
nothing nothing understand and it goes withoutsaying like she puts her all, her

(22:55):
one hundred and ten percent into everythingthat she does essence fast, Hey,
she did that. Damn it wascrazy. She's ahead of her time,
like literally, she's literally an aliensuperstar like Beyonce talking song about she has
been for her music to be evenmore relevant today than it was then,
for her to lean so much intothe nerdiness of how she she like her

(23:17):
and Tim just be in the studio. They live for this ship like this
is like bet big production. They'renot playing around. She is one of
once in a generation talent and Iam so I feel we feel so blessed
to be alive at the same timeas Missy as miss Demana Elliott. I
am so glad you guys gave herher things. From the moment Super Duper
Fly dropped, m hm, it'sjust been on our next ever since.

(23:42):
And she not even with the newmusic that she releases now and the people
that she continues to work with now, she refuses to let up and she
is always ahead of the curve. So I just I love her. She's
a legend and our eyes will alwaysbe a legend and so like, well
deserved, you should give her anotherone just based on videos. But we'll

(24:04):
just go ahead and move on.Bravocon was over the weekend. It was
in Las Vegas this year. It'snormally in New York City, but this
year was in Las Vegas and Ithe conference itself obviously was not embarrassing.
It was. It's always a goodtime. I actually got to be part
of the very first Bravo Con backin New York. I got to the

(24:26):
house books, I got to dothe first household of the landed panel back
when it was at its glory numberone. The room was passed baby.
I think that's still the biggest audienceI ever spoken in front of lives to
be on it. But it's alwaysa good time because if you're a Bravo
like fan, Bravo liberties everywhere youlook, they come together. They bring

(24:47):
them together, they joke, it'slike come the con. So at the
clip that I would like to discuss, Andy does a roast. Andy Cohen,
who was you know, does hislittle spiel to intro the whole die.
Everybody's in the audience, all therobal liberties. Then he's roasting people
playfully. It's ha ha ha hathis man and the roast was saying,

(25:07):
and I want to thank Bravo forpaying for everybody's hotel and bringing everybody out
here so that Juan Dixon didn't haveto and then the camera spins right to
Rob and the fact that Robin triedto do this whole like ahun, we
were all embarrassed. I choked,I actually choked water. That was the

(25:32):
funniest part of the damn Roast. And I can't believe. I mean,
it's just that because I had justwatched the Potomac episode, which came out
this week, I mean yesterday,Potomac is back. A Potomac married to
medicine is back. My girls, our peak Blacks are back, and baby
one and Robin he just where. It's just another season of one embarrassing Robin

(25:57):
right after they were new, likeright after as soon as she married that
man again one. I think she'sterrified of one truly. I don't think
she wants to shake and the bearthis nigga is or poke him at any
way. I think he's just reallyhighly irritable. Like no, I definitely
think he did him. I thinkhe's definitely like it's very manipulative to make

(26:18):
the person who you betrayed feel likethey have to walk around eggshells around you.
That is something that men have benhave been doing from the beginning of
time, that they have mastered thatshit like a fucking trade. You understand,
like it's a skill set. Likeit is so crazy and it's been
it's painful to watch it on camerabecause I really think they're r rob I

(26:41):
didn't think Robin is just like shemarried him twice and that's what she shouldn't
have done. And I know sheknows. There's just no way she can
be that embarrassed again. She's like, I've done it. We were divorced
most of the time, and nowI'm here because literally she's sitting there believing
dumb ass stories that I know sheknows are dumb. And when they had
Giselle tried to put together or takea miny girl comes to and tell us
what's been happening. Drink session forher with Ashley and Charisse sat there like,

(27:06):
Hey, we too have been playedby men that we trusted, all
of us, all of us,so maybe you won't feel so defensive when
we talk to you about how it'syour turn make her feel worse, and
she's Robin said, keep it,keep the healing, keep the common sense
away from me. I don't wantnone to do with none of that.

(27:29):
Even did a bit more effort thanshe's ever done in any episode. Right,
She's giving us so much more already. I said things looking up for
series at this point. Now,the fact that my girl has at least
told one story and at least shedone tear. They gave her a flashback

(27:51):
see the Producers. It all speaksto just really why I love Bravo reality
television shows so much, Like theHousewives are just my biggest guilty pleasure,
just and I watched the White Onestoo. I won't lie, but Atlanta
is when I was my entry point, and I just started expanding during off

(28:12):
seasons. But I love them somuch. M hmm. There may not
be Emmy or Oscar contenders, butthey're they're deep in my heart. No,
yeah, there are guilty pleasures,Like there's so much wrapped up in
our guilty guilty pleasures, TV shows, movies, even foods. You know,

(28:32):
when I try to make the list, Sylvia of all the guilty pleasures
that I got, and it justit's not looking like guilty pleasures, it's
just looking like living. This iswhat I'm doing. It's it's interesting,
but like constructs what And I alsothink like post pandemic, like what we
do for comfort looks so differently, but we use the girl the term guilty

(28:55):
pleasure like it's I think everybody usesit differently. So we want to unpack
the guilty and the pleasure, rightright? Why are we so? Why
do we feel guilty for taking inthese pleasures? And you know, while
we like what we like? Andwhy you'll never be able to take to
be away from me? Baby, because the next guilty pleasure that I'm about

(29:15):
to mention, I think a lotof y'all even know because a lot of
y'all are like me. So let'slet's get into it. One thing I've
been loving about being home for alittle bit is getting back into my routines,

(29:38):
catching up on my shows, includingyou know, a few guilty pleasures,
like I have been binge washing theshit out of suits. Okay,
I binge washed and finished to be'sown Houcie Daddy season. Great, you
know, producers, let's get inhere, listen, hit up, get

(30:02):
her done, Productions and figure outhow you guys can work together and give
everybody a mic for the show. You know, they only work on a
boom system, so they're not catchingeverybody's language. I just I'm just hearing.
I'm just hearing shit out of leftfield, right field and fight to

(30:22):
break out. But I really dolike the Ucci Daddy series, so I
hope it comes back for another season. What is Daddy is about? What
would you say? The mask presentinglesbians come together and and compete for the

(30:45):
Uccie Daddy chain and a trip toJamaica. What ja right near the beach?
I think chain? A chain?Well you know what it could have

(31:08):
been? Miami. No, I'mglad. That's good. Good for them.
I want you to see the chainreal quick. But those are some
of my guilty pleasures. I dolike, you know, a little a
little white castle here and there.I'm I'm thing is that I knew that,

(31:32):
But every time I hear it,it's like I forget. I make
my summer again. I'm from Jersey, which I want to know I did.
I have partaken the white Castle.I won't lie, but it's been
only when I'm a little high,when I'm doing a little, just the
ten of the weed. I haveto have. I have to have a
white castle. Donalds won't do thejob. It won't get it, John,

(31:53):
No, no, no, no, no no. But yeah,
those are some of my guilty pleasures. No, I get it, Washington.
Reality television shows that you're a shameto watch is my guilt top top
on my guilty pleasure list, youknow, from the Kardashians to some of
the love and hip hop ones toyou know, uh, the House Like

(32:13):
it's just because you know, it'sjust so sometimes it gets so trashy,
but you just can't look away.Or sometimes it's like you're watching a car
accident, you just can't look away. But let's define guilty pleasure first to
see what we're working with, becauseyou know, I love a definition because
words mean things. Miriam Webster sayssomething pleasurable that induces uh, usually minor

(32:36):
feeling of guilt. Okay, usuallyminor feeling of guilt. Okay. Google
says something such as a movie, television program, or piece of music that
one enjoys despite feeling that is thatit is not generally held in high regard.
Okay, yeah, I understand howthat makes things feel guilty pleasure like

(32:59):
growing up? Where were some guiltypleasures that you remember seeing growing up?
I would see my mom, youknow, watch a lot of I think
that would be for her. Ithink a guilty pleasure would be like Snapped
watch Snapped or true true crime stuff. And also like my grandparents, they

(33:21):
would be watching like the Stories, which would be I guess a guilty pleasure
because it's terrible TV, but thestory is so good for my grandparents,
I don't care they gonna watch itswere definitely the operas had our grandparents in
the Choke Call, my grandpa lovedsome days of our lives. It would
be just like eating I think eatingstuff. You have no business eating a

(33:45):
little some sweet, a little somesome sweet unlocked. I need a little
some sweet sweet. At the endof the Navy, you are an adult.
You're an adult that you are thegirl you need to start working on
after you. You need to startputting a little something like you need to

(34:07):
get the leg the shirts out.Yeah. And then watching Maury Maury,
I think started to become I mean, it is a real guilty pleasure.
I used to that shows. Lovethat show. Maury, Jerry Springer,
Ricky Lake Mantal. You remember Sally, I remember fell Jesse Raphael with the

(34:29):
Rookies and the Sally's. I couldnever really get into the maur Reason,
the Jerry Springers. Even as akid, I said, it's so I
mean, it was too much asan impact. I just everybody on that
stage. I was feeling bad forit. I'm like, this is crazy.
It was too much chaos to takein at one Why I used to
tell my mom, watch this girlcurse her mother out and be grateful that

(34:50):
you got what I am given toyou because you used to watch like the
more reason I'm thirteen years old andI get to leave whenever I want,
I'd be like, wow, that'sa lie. You know some bad ass
kids. I'm like, this isbut that's crazy that you haven't got expect
on national television. Crazy. SoI used to wash the shit out of
those. And then Jerry Springer, you know it's Jerry Springer. It's crazy.

(35:14):
You saw that of like the womanbeing a friend of Olive's like and
stuff like that. Like I justI think I needed like it was crazy.
But you know, I soap operaswere really my thing. I for
me, I was a soap operagirly like. I don't know if you
remember this one soap opera. Itwas the first one, like, because
soap operas and we were coming up, they had all existed for so much

(35:36):
longer than us that you never reallysaw the beginning, right, like nobody
ever signed one of General Hospital,or all my children or days like so
when Passions, When Passions came tobe, when we were old enough to
see day one, I said hotbecause it came out right after the Days
of our lives, which was wewere at NBC Soap Family, and so

(35:57):
I was like, oh, Ifound get to be at the forefront of
something here, and I dead asswas like maybe fourth grade, Like was
washing it with my older cousins,And it got to the point that even
when they moved away, I wouldstart to record See kids today don't know
this because we didn't have on demand, but I would have to do something
like put a blank VHS in myTV, set it to record for at

(36:22):
a time using the menu button tohope that it would catch the soap opera
during the times while I was walkinghome from school, so that when I
got home, I would go inmy rooms, pull out my homework and
press play on passions and get itdone. I was since a kid,
I loved soap operas, which Ithink led directly into my passion for reality

(36:47):
television. Like the more we talkabout, the more I realized that,
like talk show, soap operas domessthe chaos. But like, why why
do we like the mess? Isit? Like I mean, sometimes just
comforting to see that somebody's life isgoing more is we're chaotic and going crazier
than yours? Like do you thinklike that's what it is? Entertaining?

(37:08):
It's entertaining, But I do Iwonder about so I think mostly yeah,
I liked reality TV like that typeof maybe not reality TV or like soap
operas and things like that, butTLC used to have some of the craziest
ship on their program, so likethey had I'm addicted to eating horders orders

(37:34):
ship like that. I used tobe wife swap Oh now that was it's
I think experiments, what would youdo like stuff like that? For me,
I just need to see how peopleare living. I think that for
me is something that I've been andit's not mess or chaos, It's just
something different from I guess what Iexperience in my house. So seeing people

(38:00):
well when they do wive squat,I love wife swa. I still watch
its swap is crazy because it's likeI remember, I love experiments, So
anything that has to do with experiments, I'm down. Psychologists trying to help
hoarders clean their house up. Loveit. I think I like watching like

(38:21):
day in the Life reality, LikeI think it started with who was the
very first couple Jessica Simpson Nick Lee, the Newlyweds, or like the Hills
Laguna Beach. We're all humans onthis planet day, but they're on the
opposit side of the country. They'rewhite girls in the valley whatever. And
I'm just like, huh, that'sso crazy that your life is like this,
because it's just like I think that'swhat fascinates me, Like there's not

(38:44):
even an experiments, just like thisis just how y'all live and how y'all
family dynamics are. And I thinkbecause somebody who was always really in the
pop culture, when celebrities started toopen up that third curtain and show us
like how they just live day today, I was like, wow,
you know what I mean, Likepeople forget Whitney and Bobby were the first
big hit on Bravo, Be andBobby Brown was Jeffer. That was a

(39:08):
great show. That was a greatshow. My mom used to let me
watch that show. We all didbecause we couldn't believe it. The greatest
singer of all time was letting uswatch her day to day was crazy.
It's just like you went from nothaving knowing what they were doing, like
when they leave award shows. Itwas before social media. It was like

(39:30):
our first glimp because I think alot of people had this idea of what
Whitney Houston was and when they realizedthat no baby girls from everybody from Jersey,
everybody said, everybody said, she'sfrom Elizabeth Billy to churchwork, okay,
so America. So we just startedto come out more like you know

(39:52):
her, her personality started to shinemore. I think more Black people started
to be like, oh, oh, Whitney's a niggahs, I see what
body, I see what everybody endedup together now So because at the time
people were like yeah, so itgave I think reality TV gave a lot
of people room to speak their mindand also present whomever they are to the

(40:15):
public and so like that. Butlike question was the Laguna Beach moments for
you like that guilty pleasure? Haveyou been ashamed or embarrassed for somebody to
find out that you watched that,Like what is the guilty guilty pleasure that
you'd be like, wow, myfriends would never talk to me. Well,

(40:37):
no, I will say that Iwas embarrassed. And here's the redemption
story because I love health with circles. My biggest embarrier once upon a time
was how addicted I was to washin the Kardashians because those women, those
white women, and the way theywere carrying on. I knew it wasn't
right, you know, Like Iwasn't watching, I wasn't watching from replaces

(41:02):
admiration. I was watching from replaceslike and I mean also to be clear,
I watched from the beginning because againi'm e e E had me like
rival had me. And so atfirst it was just this white femian and
they weren't really doing anything to theblack community. It was Kim she had
had some type of tape. Andthen now he was a family show.
I like family show, so Ijust started watching it from the beginning.

(41:22):
So it was like I and thenas it became and they became it was
like the craziest social experiment I've everseen in my life happening, and like
to watch the ascension happen in realtime season to season, like because Kim
lived in an apartment like this thefirst season, like their house was regular,
like to see the ascension was correct, and I just I was like,

(41:43):
these white women are taking over andit's like and they're only dating black
men, and their faces and bodiesare changing with each season and the drama,
and then they're getting more money andthe brand deals, because it was
like watching influencers, as in lawncerswere becoming influencers, so it was like
you can make money off of dietpills like it was just so it was

(42:05):
just things and it was like watchingit happen in real time. So it
was just so fascinating. And thenas it became more of an attack on
black culture, it was like a, ah, so this is how like
this is how the monsters are formed. So it was just so crazy.
It just ascended and ascended. Butas the more and more they were getting
popularized for having butts or like goodearrings or like only day in Black Men,

(42:28):
the more ashamed I was that Iwas still like giving them viewership.
But here's how things always come around, because my biggest guilty pleasure turned out
to be the avenue for my successin my career because the only reason I
got the Black China story was becausewhen Black China did what she did,

(42:52):
and everybody was kind of tapped inthere, like why am I cheering for
her? I knew exactly why becauseI had been watching every single episode and
when she got pregnant by Rob Buzzpeople that we need some We don't have
time to get a freelancer. Weneed somebody who knows everything already. And
we had guilty pleasure slat groups. All the people have that in their group,
like in their offices, but likewe had slag groups based on different

(43:15):
topics at Buzzfeedling the Kardashians was oneof them, so people knew. They
were like, we need to welcomewho loves the Kardashians, and it was
me. Everybody was like Sylvia.Sylvia has seen every episode and she she
can she can explain what she's beenseeing. And that's the reason why I
was able to write down that week. And so I remember saying to my
mom, Remember when y'all said thatI wasting my time washing television, Like

(43:37):
my TV addiction came in handy careerwise, but that really was It was
because of how they're acting. AndI mean skims. Skims is another thing
I'm embarrassed about. I you know, it goes right a hand. It's
a goodline, guys. I don'tknow what to say. Kim did her

(43:59):
things, and I believe there's ablack woman involved somewhere the top, I
really do. I forgot her nameright now, but she's there and she's
making money off of this too.I've tried the dupes. I've tried the
links that y'all say are like it, and it's not so that kind of
slow damn stopped to underwear. It'sjust never anyway. I'm sorry. So

(44:25):
it's the Kardashians and my buy intosome of their brands, but I have
I was part of a support grouptext group chat that was black women who
loved Skims but were afraid to sayit out loud because it was like,
we were like, what's happening, guys, Wait a minute, do we
like to not him? So thosethose are the ones that I've been ashamed

(44:52):
and embarrassed about. What is yours. I think I said my early on.
I think my my white castle,that's that's that's whenever I pick it
up downstairs, I feel like Ihave to wear the biggest hood and I

(45:14):
come downstairs like I don't want anyoneto see me, and I run downstairs
with my high ass and just rundownstairs and eat my castle cities, sometimes
in silence because I'm just so embarrassed. So I think eating white Castle is

(45:36):
like my top white castle. WatchingAs far as watching TV, there's embarrassing.
No I think like or ashamed oflike or like not wanting people to
like find out about not embarrassed, but I don't be embarrassed by it.
Like there's something I like that imbrassed. I don't care if some says,

(46:00):
hey, you know, you drinksoda, you drink cold, you drink
pepsi apps so fusolutely, and ifyou don't want me to slap the shit
out of you, then you wouldlet me drink this pepsi in peach because
this is the only thing. Thisis like a cigarette to me, like
my cigarette. If I'm having abad day, I immediately I get a

(46:22):
pepsi because I need to level out. She needs that corn syrup. She
needs that high fruit toast on itevery day. But if my period is
on its way or I'm angry,and I'm like, oh I've had a
day. It's not alcohol. It'snot a cigarette, it's not weed.

(46:44):
It's just a bottle of twenty twentyouts twenty OUs twenty ounce get the twenty
ounce what is it? No,it's not twenty it's probably what sixteen sixteen
ounce PEPSI I remember one time Idrank a whole like two lider Sylvia for

(47:07):
the for the game nights, forthe fucking football games. And I got
that size two Leader and like apizza full size, not my personal pan
personal was too small. Got likea medium sized pizza, ate all of

(47:30):
that and drank all of it.That's when I said, Okay, I
will never say this. I amsaying now. It was like five years
ago, but I was like, damn, this is this is this was
this was a wild one thing. And it wasn't like a wild night Sylvia.

(47:52):
It wasn't like, oh, it'sa money Sylvia. It was like
six p m. And I'm drinkingheavenly like it's a fucking like it's Jack
Daniels to the head, not evenusing a cop just drinking it to the
heads midday midday five years ago.Have your guilty pleasures changed out as you're

(48:13):
older, Like, is there anydifference between what your guilty pleasures were as
a teenager or your early twenties versuslike now in your thirties. Yeah,
I think hmm, yeah, Ithink I have some different guilty pleasures in
the twenties where I would have somereally guilty pleasures. Okay, fucking that

(48:37):
nigga that you have no business fuckingthose teah, those type of pleasures where
for me, I think those twogoing back on my boundaries, making one
and then saying just kidding, wecould Jess, you know I love is
your frame with those are a guiltypleasure? I don't think. I think
that some people. There's a lotof people who do these things but for

(49:00):
the mess mistakes versus things that theyknow that they wanted to do. I
want to do, Like it's hardfor people to admit that they want to
do the bad thing, but becausethen you have to deal with the fact
that that you wanted to do thatwhat you did even though it was bad,
not like accidentally did a bad thing. Now you know you want to
do it, You did it,and you knew in your right mind that

(49:20):
it was wrong, and you stillwent on it. You did it anyway,
You did it anyway. So therewass like that. I think that
in my twenties where I just was, I was just taking a look,
just doing a lot of the guiltyand the pleasure. And I think I
don't know as far as like Iwanted to say this before, but with
TV shows and things like that, people make us feel bad for certain ship

(49:45):
that I think they have no businessmaking us feel bad for. I think
it's mostly just men talking about Idon't I don't see how you could watch
reality TV. I don't get howbecause I think everybody I guess who doesn't
watch this ship thinks that we're watchingan admiration, like we're watching to be,

(50:07):
to be these housewives, we're watchingKim Kardashian, We're watching to be
Yeah. Yeah, nobody idolizing,And that's what I think like they're doing
and all the some of the girlsgirls want to say, although there are
tons of women that do do that, I think it's important to know that
there are people like Sylvia who framedit perfectly where it's like, oh,

(50:30):
this is the type of life thatyou're living. Oh, this is how
you came about doing the wrong shipfor the blood, for black culture,
and how you just how how itreally happens. That's the blue points.
Watching real time is crazy. Yeah, watching appropriation really some time is crazy.
So I get ship like that,Like I understand I used to.
Now I will say, like backin the day, I used to judge

(50:53):
people who watch Kim Kardashian back andI've never watched them. I think I
just sometimes watching white people, evenwith like Real Housewives of whatever, white
it's it's non it's certain white city, the Beverly Hill girls, Beverley Hills,

(51:15):
that's where the money is. Sometimesit's like there's times where like those
shades, Like I was, like, I used to love New Jersey and
Land and the most, but therewere times but there was so much financial
struggle that that out that they weresupposed to be housewives, you know what
I mean. It's like to beescapism. They're supposed to be escapism,
and it's becoming a little too realityfor me. I would like to see.

(51:37):
I came here for luxury and highliving. These bitches in Beverly Hills.
They're doing that consistently. They gotthe money. You understand, we're
taking pj's. There are hours onvacation. You know the homes. I
see what their homes are like, like that type of stuff. But no,
I feel you watching white people.I mean there's a guilt about enjoying

(51:58):
watching white people live or just watchingwhite people sometimes. I feel that.
I also feel guilty about just aboutto say, my fat Greek wedding three
has came out on Peacock. I'mblack ass not gonna watch right when we

(52:20):
when I get off this damn podcast, you gotta make I fuck with that.
I fuck with them. I don'tknow them, but I love my
big flat Greek wedding. Agree one, two and now three they go back.
It's like I think it's and Ifeel like, I imagine there's white
people who I imagine feel guilty bywatching black lives, perhaps like family like

(52:42):
shows. I wonder like, isthere white people somewhere like I love that,
love him, my boy love that, Justine or Netta love that,
Zeus Network love love that. Ican't. I don't think I should be
watching it, but I don't know. But like over consumption. I think
that's the thing too, where it'slike I'm doing I'm taking in too much

(53:06):
pleasure, too much joy. Iwould like to say, like, nah,
like we need to like kind ofreclaim some of the things that we
feel guilty about out of bad habitsor trauma or like things that weren't supposed
to be instilled in us to beginwith. Like, I think so many
people's guilty pleasures are rooting food becausewe were always made like we live in
a society that's folk constantly focused onthat's that phobic and constantly focused on,

(53:31):
you know, and enjoying food toomuch is gonna lead you down the wrong
road where it's like life is hardenough. I have a We were reading
this article with celebrities who share whattheir guilty pleasures are, and I must
say that the women are sorry,Okay, Beyonce is starving. Hear me,

(53:53):
This girl gonna say. I alwaystreat myself to one meal on Sundays,
one meal on Sundays, and Ican have whatever I want. Usually
it's pizza, which is my favoriteindulgence. If you don't grow the Stewart
said, it's a spoon of reallygood organic peanut butter, like most diets

(54:15):
allow that, I feel like mostdiets allow. Or a slice of American
cheese from my housekeeper's drawer in theplastic. It's horrible. I gonna hold
you. That was my guilty pleasureat seven. I didn't know me and
Martha had that. I know itwas a guilty pleasure. I just I
knew my mom was was starving mebecause she was sleeping and wouldn't get up
to feed me breakfast. So therewas rappers all up throughout. It was

(54:38):
the crass. I think for memayby that' and cheese, it's that I'm
taking a slice it is supposed tobe on the stand which out the plastic.
It is delicious in this bomb, okay, and it's crazy, okay.
Or Meghan Mark was talking about someFrench fries and French fry meal from

(55:00):
White White Castle. You understand,a whole pizza, not a slight pizza,
not a slice. They're like someone light American spirit that I smoke
once a week on Saturday night.I have smoked a whole weed long.
Well, there's a difference between acigarette. Oh oh, also she's not

(55:24):
she's not smoked anything long, don'tlisten to her, she's a lie Scotti
if she if she partakes in anyof the marijuana. The pre roll is
about the size of my nail forthose who are watching on YouTube, for
those who are listening to the audio, I would like this out of me

(55:45):
smoking And I couldn't even see theblunch through her nails, Like that's when
she was said nails not but Ican't even see it. It's your nails
are longer than the pre roll itself. And Scottie also could not hide being
high. It's the funny thing becauseshe looks so guilty for her eyes be
bloodshot red and she just be cheesedand she's like, hey, nothing's going
on here, guys, what's up? But I'm like, are you hot?

(56:07):
Well that little last day just sothat's how guilty. But I mean,
like because like things that used tobe taboo, and they're like there's
so many people who are saying bats, different types of baths or lazy things
like Oprah said like she has taketoo many baths, like Kerrie Washington talking
about some them like you know,I really love a massage, Like are

(56:27):
we not allowed to do these things? Sean and Rymes talking about something.
She likes to be alone? Arethese guilty pleasures the girls are suffering?
What are you saying? There's alot of women who were saying doing nothing
and that's why they're successful to becauselike the way we have been taught that
not being late, like the waywe weren't allowed to sleep in on weekends,

(56:51):
or the way we were taught thatif you just laying there doing nothing,
that ain't right. That you can'trest, that you can't enjoy being
alone, like that you can't takea bath to good, it's actually healthy
for you for a lot of ways. It regulates your circulation. It's a
stress to stress, Like, theseare not things that we should be ashamed
of doing. And I want usto start sending ten toes down. And
the fact that like, bitch,if you like to, if you like

(57:14):
a bad take a bath, ifyou like uh, a massage, especially
if you got carried Washington money, get the fucking massage, Like why is
that crazy? Get up? Yeahthis this moment, like girl, get
girl. It's about how we asblack women. I feel like also like
we've just been taught that we cannever just be still so much so that

(57:36):
about the pleasure that's crazy and soand I get it because when I first
do you not remember, like whenyou first started living alone and you can
make your own rules, did younice if you're guilty, like, oh
my god, I slept past noonright today? Ah, that's like that
used to be. Now I leanin now my group chats, No,
it's still be awake. We allknow ten am were like I, she

(58:01):
might she might be. Maybe tenam feels like a perfectly natural time to
wake up if you have no childrenand your lives. I've been telling them
in the group that don't you'll callher she is not she's not up.
Wait, you can call I won'tanswer you, but you can call that
D and D is on. Butno, let's guilt more pleasure. That's

(58:24):
what I want for black women intwenty twenty four and the end of twenty
two, especially as we coming toQ four. It's the holiday. It's
my favorite season. It's all aboutChristmas. It's the time where we overindulge
a lot, whether it's with family, off time, rest, food,
money being spent on people you loveit and yourself. Holidays are really hard

(58:44):
for a lot of people, Sodoing something for yourself during this holiday,
because you got to hold on tight, child, and depression will come rearing
his head. Daylight Savings is here, the daylight is gone. Yeah,
damn seasonal depression Warriors. This hasbeen a fun talk, but we also
haven't played a game in a while. I would think we should see how

(59:07):
well we know each other's guilty pleasures, and they let's let's let's wrap it
a game. So we're gonna playa little game we're calling guilty or nah

(59:31):
like I'm a like, I'm aseerie reading a bony, you're n like
we have an automated robot, somebody'stexting you when you're trying something, or
come and your headphones, Sylvia say, we going to nah, it's like
what anyway? So we'll each weekthe prompt and the other person has to
guess what they think. Our guiltypleasure is. For every right answer,

(59:53):
you get one point. For everywrong answer, you lose a point.
We're gonna have our produce just keepingtrack in the background to tell us who
was at the end, because that'sa lot to do. So are you
ready? Let's do it? Allright? Let's do it Okay, By
the looks of my bathroom, cabinets. My guilty pleasure is buying masks,

(01:00:22):
so many masks. Masks. Absolutely, I've been all up and through that
bathroom. I was gonna say,I think yours is beauty skin care products
too. Accordingly, yes, thoseare those are your girl friends dead ticking
things, but I think skincare productis. That was one where I said,

(01:00:46):
I think we're going to have similaranswers. My favorite guilty pleasure aisle
at Target is home Good. Ispend hours good section stylizing several people apartments

(01:01:07):
and then leaving with a pillow, literally taking pictures of lamps, lampsh yeah,
things like that. I am crazyabout. Absolutely spend hours. So
now I get to guess what youraisle is. Yeah, what do you

(01:01:28):
think mall is? Mmm? Skincare? No, you know, I was
gonna I think mine is in asimilar home area. I think the specific
thing was probably the candle section.Yeah, the candle section. Yeah,

(01:01:51):
I was gonna say candles. Ireally love You're right? Yeah, Okay.
My go to Uber eats door dashorder is this is hard. I
think it's there's multiple answers. Iallow if you get multiple what if you
get one? Okay, all right, okay, so I would say,

(01:02:21):
I don't know, sobey because whenI be asking you about, oh,
what we're gonna eat, and you'dbe like, there's a good burrito place
with the eggs in it, andI was like, waking late. Yeah,
no, I do breakfast. Idon't eat breakfast often, but when
I do is waking late. Ialmost tried to get it here today.
Yes, that is a good one. That's a good one. I'll allow

(01:02:42):
it. I like California, theyput me onto the breakfast burrito. Okay,
I remember what's that I'm but Ithink that that's yours. I mean,
I think bibly. My most guiltygoal to order is like five guys.
Like if I do it, I'mlike five guys guys. Okay,
I don't know that. I don'tknow. Oh you're reading this one.

(01:03:07):
I left it thinking about multiplayers. My favorite guilty pleasure on vacation is well,
it's too loud. Okay, yours? I mean again, here's maybe

(01:03:37):
why we're friends is because we havesimilar ones. I think we both The
SPA is one I think announce. My answer for you is like a favorite
guilty pleasure on vacation is like,I mean you have an excursion. I
don't know how guilty you feel aboutit. You have an excursion. She's
like, I want a Pairisael,I want a jet ski. I want

(01:04:00):
to zip line something in ashes.I think that. And I was gonna
say for yours was the spa,Sylvia will spend Yeah, grips, Okay,
baby girl is gonna be there, all right. Not grips got people
thinking of but they got financially irresponsible. Man. I love the spa.

(01:04:21):
I love a spy. I lovespa, all right. Pick your guilty
pleasure. Breakfast for dinner or dinnerfor breakfast for you? I guess yeah,
dinner for breakfast. No, i'mrybreakfast for dinner. Sorry, breakfast
for dinner because you don't eat breakfastlike that, So breakfast for dinner rather

(01:04:44):
than dinner for breakfast. That's true, that's true, that's true for you.
This is why this morning I waslike, LI say for you,
you'll eat a leftover first thing, because you were thinking about it, like

(01:05:04):
I don't like leftovers, but BennyHannah leftover. I mean, but if
there's something in her fridge that likeI have seen you take out, like
a steak from the night before andlet me throw some eggs on it and
make a breakfast. I won't dothat immediately. Okay, that was fun.

(01:05:28):
That was great. We do knowreally well, you know your guilty
pleasures. So yeah, this wasgreat. I hope to play more games
like this. I do want atiebreaker, though I kind of feel like
you know them. I don't knowif there should go there. Fine,
fine, fine, we will moveon. It's tied, so we will

(01:05:54):
go to the next sevement, whichjust before I'll let you go, shout
before we let you go. Wealways want to close with a few words
of affirmations that held us together overthe past week. So what do you

(01:06:15):
have with people this week? Somy affirmation from this week or take away
from my week that really goes Ithink it all ties in together a bit
with guilty pleasure, but also justwith doing things allowing it to be I
think that there's a healthy way togo about having like to tapping into guilty

(01:06:39):
pleasures. And I think sometimes wedeserve to do things that for our inner
child that we once made felt likewe couldn't do. But you like giving
yourself permission to do something that doesn'tmake sense or that isn't responsible, Like
I said, like at the topof this show, I really had that
moment with myself last week when Iwas like, it is not the responsible

(01:07:00):
thing to do to go to homecomeme, but I want to do it
in the sense of like my body, I knew I was tired, like
for me, like I had beenon the road, I had been tired.
Yeah, I knew I probably needto electualize and some rest and like
whatever else. It was an easierflight NonStop back to La Versus like two
layover flights to like whatever. Butit's what I wanted to do. And

(01:07:24):
I want to remind y'all that sometimesbecause you want to is enough. Yeah,
And then it's because I want tobecause I wanted to, because I
can, because I get the adultmet gives the child me permission. I
think, as somebody who is soobedient, such a rule follower, such
like a I'm constantly trying to pushmyself to push against like what I think,

(01:07:47):
like what society thinks I should orshouldn't be do whatever, whatever,
whatever the person is in your heador whatever the rule is or like,
it's none of it's real. It'smy point. So like this week,
I would like everybody do something thatyou may have passed the judge yourself for,
but you shouldn't like for yourself. Please, let's guild more pleasure.

(01:08:09):
That's where I met with it.How about you. I love that.
I was having a discussion with mymassage therapist and she's she had said to
me, like when I was explainingto her what I was doing as far
as like traveling a lot and doingall these things, she just was very
adamant on telling me like, thisis the time you need to do what

(01:08:31):
you want to do. She's like, I wish I knew that, like
at a younger age, that Icould just do, you know, travel
more and do all these things whereI didn't have as many responsibilities. And
then I seen like an affirmation ofcourse on Instagram that was like twenty years
from now, you give anything tobe this age again, exactly this healthy

(01:08:55):
and have this time again. Godo some main characters shit before it's too
you know, I've seen a lotof people physically leave this earth throughout these
months, So I just want tomake sure that we be happy for the
now, live in the now,do what the fuck you want in the
now. You know, I'm notsaying do if it's doing harm to somebody,

(01:09:19):
absolutely not. If it's doing fuckup shit to someone else it's crazy,
No, absolutely not. But dosomething that makes you happy that will
not harm anyone else. I thinkyou should definitely just take part in.
And it's not a guilty pleasure. It's a pleasure. And we deserve pleasures
in life. We do deserve pleasure, and there's we're ways to have pleasure.

(01:09:42):
Just fuck it. Maybe if wefound ways to have pleasure that I
would do that so you won't haveto. Okay, So listen, make
sure you come back for more ofThe Scotty and Soviet Show, because what
