231: Savage Healing: Putting Your Pain on the Page

After decades of suppressing her pain and trying to be the "perfect" woman, a series of profound life transitions catapulted my friend Andrea Seiler into a dark night of the soul. She writes under the pen name @cheydrea (a blend of her name and her daughter Cheyenne's) and vulnerably shares her journey of excavating her shadows and traumas through the raw, uncensored act of writing poetry…in her book, "A Poet's Playground: Savage Poetry for Inner Child Healing.”

 

Through the process of "hemorrhaging" her emotions onto the page, Andrea learned to give voice to her long-silenced inner child and discovered that self-compassion and self-love were the keys to her healing.
