Diagnostic reasoning occurs through pattern recognition and the use of heuristics. The use of a cognitive autopsy can be a powerful way to learn from diagnostic errors after mistakes are made. In this episode, we explore how residents and fellows can be leaders through diagnostic reasoning and deconstruct how clinicians make decisions.
