As Veterinarians we sometimes struggle with Compassion Fatigue. Compassion fatigue is not the same as general burnout, though the two often go hand in hand. Burnout stems from overwork, long hours, and chronic stress. Compassion Fatigue, on the other hand, is more emotional and relational.
