Sami Roth is the current reigning Miss Butler County of PA and shares her story of sexual assault which lead to PNES; psychogenic non-epileptic seizures, diagnosed by a medical doctor. Per Wikipedia; also referred to as pseudoseizures, non-epileptic attack disorder, functional seizures, or dissociative seizures, are episodes resembling an epileptic seizure but without the characteristic electrical discharges associated with epilepsy. Examples of inside triggers are physical symptoms, emotions, thoughts, and memories. Examples of outside triggers include something picked up by the senses (sounds, smells, lights, etc.), or difficult experiences that are encountered. Also suffering from CPTSD; complex post-traumatic stress disorder Sami has worked hard through EMDR Therapy, the support of her family and friends an by starting her non-profit 'Take A Stand'.
