Well, welcome to Truth Be Told, where we search for
hidden histories, conspiracies, and the paranormal. I'm your host, Tony
sweet Well. It's Labor Day weekend, and for most Americans
it's about barbecues, parades, and the long lasting breath of
summer before school starts. But one community in Massachusetts, Labor
Day is remembered for something else. Entirely. On September one,

nineteen sixty nine, the year I was born, under a
clear Berkshire County sky, dozens of people looked up and
saw something they could not forget. Strange lights, silent craft,
and missing time. Well, today we're going to uncover the
truth behind what's now called the Berkshire UFO Incident. All right,

let's go back and stage this. It was nineteen sixty nine.
Just a few weeks earlier, mankind had walked on the moon,
woodstock had wrapped up, and the Vietnam War was raging
on the TV screens. Berkshire County, Chusetts. It's a quiet
rural filled with rolling hills and small towns. That Labor
Day evening, families were out driving, children were chasing fireflies,

and parents were savoring the last taste of summer. No
one expected that night to change their lives. And we're
going to begin with Thomas Reid. He was just twelve
years old, riding in the family station wagon when it
suddenly a bright light engulfed their car. The next thing
he remembered, hours had passed. Thomas later described being taken
aboard a craft with strange beings observing him. And Thomas

Reid wasn't alone. Several families near the lake described a
glowing disk hovering silently over the water. There was no sound,
there was no wind, just a massive object suspended in
the night. Drivers on a rural road reported their cars stalling,
their engines dying as a blinding light slept over the highway.

lights were following them. Imagine being eight or nine years old,
running terrified while our craft silently hovers above, and decades later,
their voice still shake when they tell the story. And
here's the thing. These witnesses didn't know each other. They
were in different towns, different backgrounds, and yet they described
the same shapes, the same lights, and the same overwhelming fear.

Could this really be a coincidence? I don't think so.
You'd think with so many calls, police records would be overflowing.
But strangely, no official reports were kept that night. Newspapers
didn't touch the story until years later. Now, is that
because officials thought it was hysteria or because someone wanted
it buried? And who might that be? Well? Remember this

was nineteen sixty nine, the very same year that the
US Air Force officially shut down Project Blue Book, its
UFO investigation program. So ask yourself, coincidence or cleanup dozens
of terrified witnesses. Yet silence from the authorities, And that
silence might just speak louder than any report. The Berkshire

or UFO incident refused to fade, and in twenty fifteen
the Great Barrington Historical Society actually recognized it as a
historical significant event. That's right, a museum put it on record.
Then in twenty twenty, Netflix Unsolved Mysteries rebooted and they
told the world what happened in Berkshire County. Suddenly the

story went from local whispers to the international headlines. Today,
plaques and memorials mark the site and if you talk
to locals you'll see the uneasy in their eyes. Now,
fifty six years later, they still get chills. If it
was just an imagination, why does the fear remain so real?
And here's something curious. The Berkshire sighting happened on Labor Day,

but it's not the only one. In New Hampshire. Just
a few years earlier, the Exeter incident happened also on
Labor Day weekend nineteen sixty five. Strange lights dozens of witnesses.
So why holidays. Maybe it's simple, more people are outside
at night looking at the sky. But maybe, just maybe,
there's a reason these encounters line up with days of

gathering and reflection, almost like we're being watched. So what
really happened that night in nineteen sixty nine? Were the
people of Berkshire County witnessing visitors from another world? Was
it a mass hysteria? Or was it something in between?
An event we're still not ready to fully explain. The
