We all have a WHY story behind our dive into entrepreneurship. So what made Emmy Award winning, former NBC anchor Darieth Chisolm change her entire career path in favor of starting her own business?
It might be something you relate to: wanting to be fully present in her son’s life and be the role model and self-starter that she wanted to be for him.
It’s no surprise that making such a big change -- especially as a person in the public eye -- can be nerve wracking. Today, Darieth shares her secret sauce to making the change, balancing family and business, and finding fulfillment after what some might consider the “dream” career.
Darieth’s biggest advice in making the decision to become an entrepreneur:
- Keep relationships at the top of your list. Relationships keep the world spinning so never stop making them.
- Utilize workshops or retreats. They make the perfect place to re-share content and on a personal level.
- Time management! Know your limits when it comes to scheduling. Block things out so you know what you have to do that day and execut.
If there’s one thing to take away from today’s episode, it’s this: when your WHY shows up in a big way, follow it smartly and strategically… it will never steer you wrong.
