**A gentle warning, this episode discusses depression and suicide. If you are feeling vulnerable in this area, please consult with a doctor or mental health professional in your area. Or call the Suicide Prevention number listed in the resources.**

This episode of The Warfare Parenting Podcast is a story of victory with our guest, Dr. Michelle Bengtson. Dr. Michelle shares her story of depression in her teen years, her family's history of depression, and how she overcame her battle with depression. She explains the way that grief and depression can overlap with each other, and sometimes normal, healthy grief can lapse into depression. From there, she walks us through her personal experiences with depression, how she reached out to God for spiritual guidance in her depression, and what she did to find peace and comfort in her life.

Dr. Michelle dives deeper into the spiritual components of depression and how we should reach out to God in these moments. The result of treating depression spiritually is an approach that offers the hope of release, not just the management of symptoms.

For those who struggle with depression and those who want to help them, this is an episode you absolutely must listen to.
