Born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL, Eric’s love for the great outdoors was a clear driver and influence throughout his early years.
Whether it was fishing in the Keys, playing sports, or spending time with his family, Eric developed a deep and early appreciation for the built environment around him. However, a career in architecture was far from the initial plan as he first considered careers in engineering and even the medical field before discovering his passion for design at the University of South Florida.
Eric’s introduction to architecture came during his time at USF, where he discovered the perfect balance between creativity and technical problem-solving.
After graduating during the 2008 recession, he took a detour into the mortgage industry before finally landing a position with a small Tampa-based architecture firm. From there, his career flourished, leading him to one of the world’s largest firms before ultimately joining WGI in 2016 to help establish and expand its architectural service line.
Now, as Director of Architecture, Eric plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of WGI’s multidisciplinary approach, blending creativity with innovative problem-solving to deliver world-class design solutions for his clients.
Throughout this episode, join us as Eric highlights some of WGI’s most exciting architectural projects, including the Escambia County Regional Traffic Management Center and Jacksonville’s Autonomous Innovation Center.
He also shares how WGI is pioneering cutting-edge design solutions that integrate technology, functionality, and aesthetics to meet the needs of rapidly growing communities.

Cardiac Cowboys
The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
