In this first episode of a packed double-header, we take a dip into the archives for a potted history of The Royals before covering how Sir John Madejski built a stadium in his own name that would eventually see a record-breaking Steve Coppell side rise to the top flight for the first time in the Berkshire club's history.

A fantastic first season sees Reading pushing for the European spots before second season syndrome kicked in and they returned to the Championship - we cover where the lads think it went wrong.
