Speaker 1 (00:00):
We'll start off this hour with Lydia, who doesn't normally
do a topic on the show, but she's got one
and it's a good one.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
And this is a very personal one. And Lydia, what's
going on?

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Yeah, So I don't even know how to start this.
I thought I wasn't going to get a little bit emotional.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
But some of the.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Listeners might know my mom and I have a really
close relationship, but at some time we did not, and
we've rebuilt that over the past couple of years. And
lately she's been going through a tough time because she
recently found out she has a tumor on the side
of her head.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Oh man.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
Yeah, so she's gotten that tested and we're blessed to
say that it came out benign, oh God. But she
still has to get it removed. So lately her and
I have been going through hairstyles because when they remove
this tumor of hers, they have to shave a part
of her head. And it's just been a little bit

(00:57):
weird because I've been trying not to be and stuff
about it, and we've been trying to make light of it.
And now my mom is gonna, you know, have this
procedure procedure next week, and I'm trying to go about
how to figure out what hairstyles we're gonna do for her.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
She's going to be half bult is she is? She
feeling self conscious about this?

Speaker 4 (01:16):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Yeah, yeah, this has been a little bit of a struggle, Diane.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
You'd be honestly beautiful no matter what your hair looks like.
You are awesome and honestly the fact that you are
taking care of something and getting this and you're going
to be healthy and you.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Are healthy, honestly amen to that.

Speaker 5 (01:34):
Man, Oh man, is it on the Where is it
on her head?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Lydia?

Speaker 3 (01:37):
It's on the left temple, like right right under like
the hairline on the left temple.

Speaker 5 (01:42):
Okay, have you guys heard of those I'm asking the
girls on the show with this, not the guys, but
have you guys heard of those halo extensions? That might
be a really good option for her. It's like a
it's like an.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Invisible like west Strand or.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
Like a headband almost that you like can put over
the top of your head and it has hair, so
then you can put the top layer of what hair
you do have over it and it looks I've seen it.
It looks very, very natural.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
I gotta tell you, I'm seeing more and more women,
whether it be through them having alopecia or they are
cancer survivors. I see more and more women wearing bandanas.
Oh I love it. I think that's hot too. Yeah,
real quick, can I ask you a quick question? You
know I often thought of this. If you know, God
forbid Chelsea had to do chemo and radiation. I thought

(02:32):
to myself, if she lost her hair, that would have
been one of the harder things that she had to
deal with. And I thought to myself, I'm like, I
could see the boys and myself all saying we're going
to support her, and you know, we're going to shave
our heads.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Would you ever think about doing that? Lydia help.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
No, there's no damn way I'm shaving my head.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
You know.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
It came across my mind for a second that I
was like, maybe I should shave a piece of my
hair off just for her, And then I was like,
there's no way.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
So we got jingle book.

Speaker 5 (03:02):
Your mom wouldn't want you to anyway.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
No, I'm not shaving my damn hud for her.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Cav Would you do it for your your mother in
law paint a blue arrow and you call me the avatar.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
What a guy? I know? That is the greatest.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
I'm eight four to four Mojo Live is our telephone
number eight four four six six five six five four
eight h if you have any good ideas on uh
on what uh Cyan can do and uh Lydia's mom.
You introduced her as some people may know. I think
everybody knows your mom. Your mom is amazing, and anybody
that's on our social you know who she is because
she's one of our staunchest supporters.

Speaker 2 (03:41):
She's one of the most lovely people you'll ever meet.

Speaker 1 (03:44):
And I am so happy that she's got good medical
care and that things are going to be good. So
and if you guys need anything, you and your family
need anything, We're there for you.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
So you're going to shave your head for maybe she
would love to have a piece of your hair and
tape it on her head.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I'll tell you what I like. I'm already starting to think,
so maybe you know, maybe I'll do it.

Speaker 5 (04:03):
I love that when it comes to shave your hat,
everyone's like, I mean, we.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Love but she's not my mom. I'll sha I'll shave
my beard for her. How about that you shave your
ass here? Wait hold on, Zach just said he would
he would shave every piece of hair off of his body.
That was kind of again, what's going on, Allison?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
How you doing?

Speaker 7 (04:28):
She can save the side and get some designs.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
I've done it before.

Speaker 7 (04:32):
That was a real big trend.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Not too don't go where they had like the whole
side of the shaved.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah, she can do it.

Speaker 7 (04:41):
Or they have headband wigs or.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
Like Shannon said, the halo things or the what's it
called or something like like, it's if she has a
pleasure of choices. So she got the and I just
want to say, it's a blessed that tumor or whatnot.
Did it come back?

Speaker 6 (05:04):
But not.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
We don't need any more. We don't need any more
issues at all. So please, we love it. Thank you.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
That's sweet of you to call up with all the positive.
What's going on, Veronica?

Speaker 7 (05:19):
Hey, guys, yeah, Lydia, I was just.

Speaker 6 (05:22):
Wanting to let you know you can get this oil
off the Amazon. It's helped me. I've had alotecia on
and off for the past like ten plus years. But
it's called Potana oil. And it's not harsh on the
hair at all. And honestly, it's the only thing I've
really seen like actual regrowth. It happened pretty fast and
it's like nine bucks. So definitely suggest that like after

(05:42):
her procedure, and.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
It will it will help. It will help your hair
grow back afterwards.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (05:47):
It's super light on the hair, not really oily as
like some like rosemary oils or like cast or oils maybe,
and I've tried them all, so this one's just the
one that actually I've seen the results that I feel
like not a lot of people know about it, but
it's the Tana oil b A PA and a really

(06:08):
good stuff. It's not anathon.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Thank you so much. I appreciate you.

Speaker 6 (06:13):
Shane.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
What's up Shane?

Speaker 7 (06:15):
Good morning. Hey, So in twenty seventeen I had cancer
and went completely bald and I had long hair. It
was one of the hard it was actually that was
harder than the diagnosis. But what I suggest is that
she's going to be uncomfortable, make sure before she puts
oil or anything on that her incisions are fully healed. Yeah,

(06:37):
and you know, whatever she does that she stays comfortable
even though it halo things I've used them before. They're nice,
but it's a little sin like fishing line. Yeah, and
you know it could irritate her. And at the end
of the day, as hard as it all was, I
ended up just going bald, like I just let it.

(07:00):
I was like whatever, because I was so uncomfortable, I
didn't care. At some point, if that.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Makes any sense, how are you doing?

Speaker 7 (07:06):
And I decided to embrace it. I'm great. I'm considered
cured at this point. Wow, I have three different cancers.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, Wow, who's I had.

Speaker 7 (07:16):
Three different cancers, went through the stuff, and I mean,
it's hard because like I lost a lot of people
that I loved to cancer, so that mental aspect, like actually,
my best friend just died in December and left me
her soul beneficiary, and so so it's hard. You know,
Like I have this house that I've been remodeling by
myself over the summer, and I felt so guilty, Like

(07:38):
I feel so guilty because I feel great, And she
didn't know she.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Wanted you to have that, and you obviously loved on
her enough that she felt that you deserve that. Can
I ask who's the little one in the background, because
as I hear little ones you know around and I
hear cancer. They're the ones that are so affected by
what could have happened.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
You know.

Speaker 7 (08:01):
So I adopted my granddaughter, but that's not her that
you're hearing. I actually drive for Detroit School. I walked
into the school to drop off my kids. Yea, I
they don't speak English. The kids that I this is
actually really the kids I drive right now. We're all
in shelters.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Oh wow, wow, Can I tell you something? You deserve
all of us to leave you everything. That's like amazing.
You're a selfless lady. Not that we're going to leave
you anything, but I feel no.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
I love you. I love you so much. Shay. Thanks
for the positive.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Uh uh, this is a great text. The listener said,
you know, I love listening to your show, and I
love every one of you guys, But I love your
listeners for staying so positive when somebody is in such need.
I think that says a lot. Like that really does
say a lot of you know what I mean. It's
like nobody's in saying this is the thing. Nobody's going
to look at you any differently than anything other than

(09:03):
they're going to say, hey, this woman is healthy, all right?

Speaker 2 (09:06):
And so we love you for that. When it's her surgery, Lydia,
it's on Monday.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
Okay, all right, and you're taking off Monday, right? Why not?
Your mom's going in to have brain surgery.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
For God's say, it's not brain, it's just at the top.

Speaker 5 (09:21):
Of the hut.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
She's got something on her head. And you're going to
come to.

Speaker 5 (09:24):
Work, yes, Lydia, what take the days?

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Got to be kidding me, Like, my dad's gonna be there,
she's gonna be okay.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
She'd rather have you there than she was like, are
you going to come after work?

Speaker 3 (09:36):
And I'm like, they're going to be in.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Surgery, so you listen, we'll talk.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
But Lydia, you know what's funny is I could see
Lydia in the operating room with the computer answering calls Hi.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
I'm a Joe in the morning.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
Get to the point right away, hold on, Mom will
be right
