Speaker 1 (00:01):
Lo jour in the mornings, Dirty on the thirty, This
is the last dirty of the day. This is it,
This is it in the week, Shannon, It's got to
be a good one.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
Make it good, okay.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
So s Federal prosecutors say members of at least four
different New York crime families teamed up in this high
stakes illegal poker ring involving several NBA stars, including excuse
me for Detroit Piston Chauncey Billups, using advanced cheating technology.
The one that I keep going back to is this
(00:35):
X ray poker table where you could there were led
I don't know, cameras that could read face down.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Cards through the felt.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
There were also card trays with hidden cameras, decoy phones
with card reading abilities, decks with infrared and then bar code,
or special glasses or contact lenses that you could like
see what was I mean? Just wild the things, these
devices they exist. They're being sold online for hundreds of
thousands of dollars, but losses tom to victims here total
(01:10):
at least seven million dollars. This is US attorney Joseph Nicola.
Speaker 4 (01:15):
The indictments in these cases contain only allegations, and the
defendants are presumed innocent until they are proven guilty in
a court of law. But my message to the defendant
you're being a round it up today, is this your
winning streak has ended, your luck has run out. Violating
the law is a losing proposition, and you can bet
(01:39):
on that.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
And it wasn't just a legal betting when it comes
to like poker. It was things that were happening during
NBA games. The guys from inside the NBA talking about
it last.
Speaker 5 (01:50):
Night, Kenny good In on this thing.
Speaker 6 (01:52):
Well, it's super unfortunate, you know. One, because we look
at players that are involved and the people that are involved.
You know, we are surprised because when you have access
and you at the top of your game, so to
speak as a coaching, professional player or whatever. You at
the top of the game, you have access to millions
and there's of dollars in this league. So it was
surprising that they would be put themselves in that position.
(02:14):
Possibly it is, and then it's into proven guilty. I
think the other part is we have to realize that
gambling is an addiction. So the addiction of it is
what makes you make illogical decisions.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
Clear something up for me, Chuck, I'm gonna clear.
Speaker 7 (02:31):
It up quickly.
Speaker 5 (02:32):
No, But I'm just really just want this. You say
the league dropped the ball on the rosier part of it, Yes,
because they had already looked at it and said we
didn't have enough, But not on the chancy. They didn't
drop the ball on two different things. Yeah, it's different things.
Take Chauncey out the equation and the reason I'm mad
(02:53):
at Kenny is Man. This ain't got none to do
with damn gambling addiction. This ain't got none to do
with addiction. These dudes are stupid. Why are they stupid?
You under no circumstances? Can you fix basketball games? Under
no circumstances? I love to gamble.
Speaker 7 (03:10):
The notion like Rosea makes twenty six.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
Million dollars.
Speaker 7 (03:15):
Him bending giving people information or or taking himself out
of games. How much is he gonna benefit taking himself
out the game to get unders Like he's making twenty
six million dollars? The notion he gained how much of
these guys he gave a head up, he took himself
out of games on prop bets? How much money is
(03:38):
he gonna make? Well, if he did that, you're proving
my point. What do you mean then that glogical process.
If you're making twenty six million dollars to try to win.
Speaker 2 (03:49):
Fifty thousand not enough for some people.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
By the way, aside from all that, how great is
it to still see these guys and inside the NBA
now on ESPN instead of t same studio and they
get time to talk about stuff like that, which istant
that's big. This is interesting to see that the FBI
waited until after the first game of the NBA season,
started to do this on the second day that the
(04:13):
NBA season. That had to be time that way.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Why do you say that though, because.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
This is now the focus the league's got focused of
their back. They could have done this in July and
charge these guys, and instead they waited until this moment.
This was you almost sit there and think to yourself
that the FBI is looking as this as we want
to be front page news.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
Okay, two other quick stories. One Brittney Spirit.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Did you see how she was driving caught on video
swerving across lanes struggling to enter her gated home after
a night out in Thousand Oaks, California.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
I mean, you just pray everything's okay. She wasn't drinking
and driving but maybe I say.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
After her ex husband, Kevin Feederline released this tell all
memoir about her, which makes a lot of damaging claims.
Speaking of Kevin, I saw him do an interview yesterday
and he said his two boys, their two boys have
largely stopped seeing their mom, extremely limited contact within recent years.
One of the boys reportedly has only seen Brittany for
(05:14):
forty five minutes in the past five years.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
That's so sad. And lastly, did you guys see what's
happening at Target? Yesterday?
Speaker 3 (05:23):
The company said it was going to eliminate about eighteen
hundred corporate positions as it looks to save money and
reinvent itself after nearly three years of sales that just
keep declining. Too many layers overlapping work have slowed decisions,
making it harder to bring ideas to life. I know
when they stopped their DEI programs, their stock price took
(05:44):
a hit. They've had some inventory issues and stores like Walmart,
by the way, lately is so good. Like remember when
Target started kind of coming up and up and you
were like, what's happening with Target? That's happening with Walmart,
Home Goods, Marshall's Amazon lots of competition.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
But say the I, I say AI that AI is
selling you brought them only two letters? You mean right
now they're stealing jobs. They talking about ideas. What's the
ideas for we got.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
GB I mean honestly unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah, and Amazon is actually also going to be dumping
a bunch of jobs too. Can I tell you that
this holiday season is going to be really interesting to
see what people spend on gifts and we there's going
to be a recession.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
There has to be. Can we stop?
Speaker 1 (06:27):
We have to, Well, the somebody needs to do something.
Speaker 7 (06:30):
We shut up.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
Yeah, well right, and get and get the work. But
this is kind of scary. This is scary with all
these people losing jobs, and it's happening everywhere. And it's
not just happening for the front office positions at Target.
It's happening people that work in the targets too. You watch,
they'll be losing their jobs too.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
