Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right.

Speaker 2 (00:00):
It is Mojo in the morning, eight four four Mojo Live.
The text is ninety five to five zero zero. If
you got something that you would like to add to
our conversation, just simply text call me and Lydia will
call you to get you on the air. keV had
a parent teacher conferences for Josiah yesterday.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
No, it's Friday, Friday.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
Yeah, we got progress reports yesterday, progress reports yesterday. I
set the tone for the conversation on Friday. Tell us
how's he doing.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
I might have to hold his mom back on Friday
from beating some ass.

Speaker 4 (00:31):
Oh no, why Yeah, So.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Josiah swear schools this year.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Yeah, school that he's in, I would say it's a
bit harder. It's a whole different environment, a whole different
group of people, a whole different curriculum. So it's we
expected a little bit of an adjustment period for Josiah,
but he's an amazing kid. He's always been extremely smart,
so we didn't think he would have a problem now.
To get it all off the way, Josiah has all a's,

(00:57):
a B plus and then.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
A C plus, so the C plus.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
Josiah is always extremely hard on himself, which is an
entirely different conversation that we should have about all kids.
Look at certain grades some kids and be like, man,
this is the end of the world. That's a different conversation.
Josiah obviously he's excited about the as excited about the
BS and Spanish. But it's not even the C plus.
It's the teacher's comments. Every other teacher acknowledges how amazing

(01:25):
of a child Josiah is. His personality is starting to
shine through. He's kind, he's helpful, he's attentive, he's super focused,
he raises his hand, he likes to engage in conversation.
The C plus teacher had none of that to say.
Everything was like, Josiah show up late for class his
homework and Jasmine is reading this to me because I'm

(01:47):
driving she reading them.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
I'm like the whole time, I'm like, what the hell?

Speaker 3 (01:50):
And she pissed because she's the one that's really at
home every night doing all the assignments taking him to school.
Then Josiah get in the car later when she picked
him up for he's like, I'm late to class, like
the class I'm there before he is.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
Do you think that do you think that the teacher
might have gotten him, like there might have been a
mix up creating the progress reports in that class. Okay, okay,
well but even like they probably I'm trying to give
benefit of the time because that doesn't sound like Josiah.
And I wonder how they do these progress reports if
they're just you know, there's like a bajillion of them.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
You're not doing that. It's not my kid type thing
because I don't want to hear.

Speaker 4 (02:26):
But if Josiah is saying, I'm there before the teacher, but.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Maybe you got to wait until you go on Friday
and find out what's going on. Like I will say this,
Shannon may be right. It might they may have have
he might have written it down for the wrong kid.
But I will say this though sometimes there are you
learn a little bit more about your kid in certain
classes and not every class.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
That they like. So maybe he's not going to their class.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
I cannot see a situation in this life where nine
out of ten people say Josiah is one way and
then his random in person has a completely different experience
in Josiah.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
So here's the thing I would say to you both.
You guys, don't go in guns of blaze and go
in with the comments from the other teachers and say, hey,
I got to ask you a question.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Let me show you this. This is kind of Josiah's thing.
But then you say this, explain that to me and
let them explain.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Help me understand.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Are like the three words that my therapist always says
you should use help me understand. Do you get to
meet specifically with that teacher?

Speaker 3 (03:26):
I don't know, And we were trying to figure out.
We don't know if so they have like advisors. Yeah,
so we might just only meet with the advisor and
talk about you know what the other teachers that have
listed in his prider support instead of talking to each
individual teacher.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
But we got to talk to the teacher. So here's
here's the question to ask the listeners. Someone asks, has
anybody ever had this happen to them where they had
a teacher that just didn't like your kid and use
your kid as you know there you know, punching boards
or punching bag so to speak, like, you know, is
Josiah just getting picked on in this case? Eight four
four Mojo Live is our phone number eight four four
six six five sixty five for eight.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Because here's the thing, Because it's not behavioral, Like I
can understand if it's a situation where this is the
class that Josiah chooses to act up in. Yeah, it's
not behavioral. He's not coming to class on time and
he's not doing this.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
When is the class first or last? Sundays?

Speaker 3 (04:12):
They got like off and on schedules, so schedule A
and maybe the first class, schedule B.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
It might not be the first class. But is he
getting dropped off late to school?

Speaker 5 (04:20):
No?

Speaker 1 (04:20):
His mom says maybe, like she said one, what if
you find out that mom's dropping.

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Him off, Like, I mean, that's happened before and we'd
had a conversation, but she ain't been on that this time,
and Josiah has like I believe Josiah. Josiah is not
gonna be one that lies. I don't believe him in
every situation, but when it comes to school and you
can look in your child's eyes sometimes and maybe I'm
just naive, but Josiah says, like I'm there before he
is most days. Hey, Ray, what do you want to.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
Say that, keV?

Speaker 6 (04:45):
So listen, keV.

Speaker 5 (04:47):
In the fourth grade, I was getting all a's and.

Speaker 6 (04:50):
B's in all of my classes, and my fourth grade
teacher mistakenly put an E on my report card when
I was getting a B in her class.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
And this was a long time ago, like in the eighties.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
I'm old son.

Speaker 5 (05:06):
Hand written letters, you know what I mean?

Speaker 6 (05:08):
Hand written and handwritten bees. And my dad when I when.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
He read the report card, had said go downstairs in
the basement, and pick.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Aboard had come to.

Speaker 6 (05:24):
My mom had to come to my defense.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
And then uh, through through further investigation, the teacher had
gone through her stuff again and admitted that she had
mistaken migrade and paper.

Speaker 6 (05:40):
A students behind me was his name and it was another.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Ray And wait, did your dad go over to his
house and beat his as.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Derek? What's going on? It's mojo in the morning. Good morning, guys.
How's it going good? It's going good. What's happening?

Speaker 7 (05:57):
Well, Actually, my daughter was actually kicked off the bus
for vulgar language, and right away I knew that it
wasn't the case because she is not a person to
say stuff like that. And it turned out she got
kicked off the bus.

Speaker 8 (06:09):
And then a few days later it was actually the
wrong person like with the same first initial.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Okay, all right, mistake identity, Yeah, so maybe it is
a mistaken identity in this case too, I think, so, yeah,
what's up, Jen, what's going on?

Speaker 1 (06:24):
It's Mojo in the morning. Hi Jen.

Speaker 7 (06:30):
Yes, I just wanted to say that, you know, I
agree with Mojo with just you know, don't go in
their guns and blazing. The just are always hearing that
that's not my kid when ninety five percent of the
time it is actually their kid, and parents just don't
want to take that accountability of it. My daughter was
super introverted, very very quiet, and in high school she

(06:50):
we went through conferences and the teacher said, you know,
we just had to talk to her about talking too
much in class. And I was like, what, there is
no way, Like I've every conference I've been to through
now through eleventh grade, it's been your daughter needs to
participate more in class because she's super shy. And I
was like, how is this possible? Like what is you know,
who's in the class, you know, et cetera. She wasn't

(07:12):
real like had a big group of friends. He had
two really good friends that weren't in her class. And
come to find out that it was a boy that
she liked that step behind her that was you know,
pulling her hair and being you know, silly, flirty, and
so she kept turning around to talk to him. It
was a different side of my daughter for eleven years,
you know what I mean. And so none of her
other classes the issue. It was this one class that

(07:32):
she had a crush on a boy and so kind
of sought us up. But it's definitely you know, most
of the time the teachers are hearing that's not my kids.
Would I agree, just go in there and ask questions.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
That would be it would be interesting to see if
it really is, Josiah, because I do this is what
you said as a male teacher. So maybe the sometimes
with male teachers. Has he ever had a lot of
male teachers or no? Yeah, because I always think that
like Luke, for instance, when Luke had mister P, Luke
was a wild man in class because mister P was

(08:02):
mister P, you know what I mean. And you act
differently in front of the male teacher than you do
in front of the female teacher. So it could be
something like that. It could be there's somebody in the
class that maybe you rouse you up a little bit,
but initial a is voice disguised because you're a teacher.
Are you or no? No, why are you voice disguised?

(08:24):
Or you don't want to teach her to hear you?
What's going on now?

Speaker 8 (08:28):
I am a I am a teacher and the.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
District Okay, go ahead, what'd you want to say?

Speaker 8 (08:32):
Okay? So when my daughter was in school, I had
a problem with a teacher that simply did not like
my child and she she was not giving her the
grade that she deserves. My daughter was tested great grades
above her grade level to start with, and this was.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
The teacher that was giving her ease.

Speaker 8 (08:54):
And then she lay the cross that she was the
best student. And I had to have a sit down
with the teacher, my daughter, and the principal, and when
all came out, this teacher basically did not like my
daughter because my daughter was so smart and basically my
daughter was challenging her and crass about things that were

(09:17):
done and this teacher.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Did not like her.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
Wow, that's interesting, because let me tell you something. Josiah
is a really smart young man. And he's one of
those kids where you think you're talking to like a
you know, a fifty year old you know guy, when
you're talking to the kid. That could be an interesting
thing too. Maybe the teacher is taking it out on
him that Josiah is so good, you know, Or maybe

(09:41):
maybe the guy is a Dave and Chuck the freak
fan and doesn't like Mojo in the Morning, and that's
why this guy is doing that.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
You don't see on Friday Penis.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
The way.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
I never understand why they just scream out penis in
the middle of the thing. It seems so weird, don't say,
is that a guy thing? A guy jo is doing
in class? Oh? My god, hold on a second here,
which one is she? I grab her? There's so many
good ones. Which one is the best one on the
on the board?

Speaker 9 (10:13):
Sorry, guys, I'm taking calls at the same time.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Which which one is the best one on the board?

Speaker 9 (10:17):
Honestly, I don't think they're.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
All okay, I'm done.

Speaker 9 (10:23):
Wait, Jalen's okay, she's she's pretty good.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
All right.

Speaker 9 (10:25):
That's what's in front of the principal in an hour.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
That's always you're going to confront the principal in an
hour from now, and you're gonna call Mojo in good
morning before.

Speaker 1 (10:33):
What are you crazy?

Speaker 3 (10:37):
That's the situation, principal.

Speaker 1 (10:43):
Yeah, you're all right.

Speaker 10 (10:45):
So I was taking my son to school this morning,
and he was like, my gym teacher was mean to
me yesterday. And I was like how and he was like,
I hurt my hand really bad, and I was crying.
And he told me on the hallway on the way
down there that I was embarrassment for crying. And when
he dropped me off at the nurse's office, he told
me told the nurse that he's a real cry and
just please get them the shut up.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Oh, let's open up a can of whoop pass on
that gym teacher.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Huh, Let's make him run some laps. We need to
follow up. Yeah, after your meeting.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
Call us back, all right, I definitely will.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Good luck.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
I wow, man, I grabbed that guy by his freaking whistle.

Speaker 1 (11:23):
Isn't he he or she whistle?

Speaker 6 (11:26):
It's a he, mister.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
I don't say it. Don't say it. Don't say it.
I don't want to get in trouble. I don't want to.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
I don't want to be But that's great, O, Jalen,
call us back after and see what happens.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
All right, all right, bye,
