Speaker 1 (00:00):
We are joined in studio here right now by somebody
who I have been a fan of from Afar. I
get a chance to listen to them after our show.
When I want to go and steal anything I possibly
can for tomorrow's show, I'll hear what Elvis Duran in
the Morning Show are doing and I will then go, Okay, guys,
I got this great idea. We're going to do this,

(00:23):
and I know it's going to work because Elvis is
the best. He's a legend. You know that Elvis was
the first consultant of the mojo on the Morning Show.
Did you know that?

Speaker 2 (00:30):
I had no idea he even did that.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
So he only did it. He did it before he
became rich and famous in a New York syndicated guy. Wow,
he was just starting. He kind of started doing mornings
around the same time that I was starting to do
mornings here, and he became like he was like my coach.
So he'd come to town a couple of times with
Tom Pullman and he would you know it. Basically it
was funny because we would hang out with each other
and he'd go, hey, let's just share some ideas. He

(00:53):
would It was kind of like mentoring each other type
of thing. And he's such a great guy. I've never
met anybody more humility than Elvis.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Oh that's so nice. I'm going to tell them you
said that.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
And we did a whole break on you and Joe
and how much I love you guys for helping me
out always here.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
So thank you.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
So. Gandhi is from the Elvis Durand Morning Show. Gandhi
also was on a legendary show in Columbus for many
years that with Dave and Jimmy, which I loved you
on that show too, and shout out Dave and Jimmy.
And I've never got a chance to meet her, but
I've always got a chance to listen to her. And
then this weekend, out of the blue, I get a
text message from my son Joe. Are you okay with

(01:30):
talking about this?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Absolutely?

Speaker 1 (01:32):
So I get a text message from Joe and Joe says, Dad,
you gotta help Gandhi, And I go, how can I
help Gandhi? What am I going to do? And honestly,
when I when I hear that stuff, I always instantly
think I heard you started firing a bunch of people.
You know, for a second, I hate that, like when
people will like tell me someone, so God, let go,
can you you know whatever? But this is even worse

(01:53):
than getting fired. This is the life of your your
beloved boyfriend.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah. Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
He had a bit of a medical emergency that took
him into the hospital on Tuesday afternoon.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
He was supposed to have a procedure.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Wednesday, Wednesday, goes by, Thursday, goes by, Friday, goes By.
He's still in the hospital getting no procedure done. They
kept kicking it down the road, and it was really
stressing me out because when you're in a place that you.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Don't know and you're not feeling well, that's terrifying.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
It was a Michigan hospital.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
It was a Michigan hospital.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
He lives here, so I flew here Friday to try
and help him figure out, like what is going on
and how do we get this settled? And then I thought, oh,
I bet Joe and Mojo have a way to help
me out here. And I never call in favors ever,
and I called you guys.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
You needed to call in a favor.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
He's got back to me in.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Like a minute, like a minute, two minutes, and everything
got worked out. And I cannot thank you enough because
I mean, you really helped him out.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Shout out by the way to Michigan Medicine that she
Gandhi's boyfriend was not in a University of Michigan hospital, right,
he was in a opposing hospital. I don't know if
they call him the proposing team's hospital arrival and they
were kind of like, I don't know what they were doing.
But it took for my friends at Michigan Medicine, lou

(03:02):
Anne over at Michigan Medicine to talk to you and
basically say here's what you gotta do to get this done.
And then all of a sudden they go, oh crap,
they know somebody. So how's he doing post procedure.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
He's doing really well. He's doing great now.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Yeah, he said he feels better than he's felt in
months because they fixed what was going on. And yeah,
I'm happy. And now I get to hang out in
the studios with all of you.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
So that's awesome.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I like it.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Wait, so okay, so this he's not from Michigan originally,
he's just working here or what is the story?

Speaker 3 (03:29):
He lives here now, so he's moved all over the place.
We met in Columbus, Ohio, when I was in sixth grade.
Then both of us moved away.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
You were in sixth grade? How old is he?

Speaker 4 (03:39):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (03:40):
So you guys knew each other from grade school?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yes, Oh, I love this And I was.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Going to say no, I wrote bad things about him
in my diary.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Really, when did you guys start dating?

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Uh? Six years ago?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Okay? Yeah? And so how did it come?

Speaker 2 (03:55):
How did you guys circle back into each other's lives?

Speaker 3 (03:58):
So we always followed each other on social media? And
then I saw him post a picture outside the World
Trade Center, which was just a few blocks down from
our old studios in Manhattan, and I just sent him
a message like, really, dude, you're in town.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
You can't even say hi? And of course I thought
it was cute, so hoping he reached back.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Out and he did, and then we hung out and
it's been ever since.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
That's the cutest story. Where does he live here in town?

Speaker 2 (04:20):
He lives much closer to Flint.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Okay, yeah, okay, yeah? Actually, wait, so you come to
town here or does he come to New York to see?
We go back and forth when you come to to
Detroit to Michigan, you're you're hanging out and like the
you're on the sticks as they call it. Yeah, and
I know, no, you missed the big city.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
I miss the big city a little bit.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
I just you guys have the best sunsets out here, though,
so I enjoy that and the phenomenon that makes me
laugh so hard, which is roadkill with the balloon that
says get well soon. I saw twice on my way
this morning.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
No roll kill for sure. Not all dressed stuff though, too.
That's crazy. We had that. And honestly people will put
you know, like if if God forbid, somebody loses a
family member or something in the car actent, they put
the the crosses and memorials and Teddy Bears.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
And stuff like that. Yeah, but not the animals.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
How long are you here?

Speaker 2 (05:17):
I'm leaving today?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Okay? Did you park in the parking lot?

Speaker 2 (05:19):
I did?

Speaker 5 (05:20):
Okay, yeah, I figured, okay, I've learned that there are
like rules when parking. So when I seen that car
parking the wrong way, I was like, yeah, that must
be somebody. Hopefully you'll be all right though? Is that
his car that you're driving?

Speaker 1 (05:35):
A car? You rented a car? Gandhi has been with
Elvis for how many years? Now? Eleven seven years? You
guys have been together. You're on a bajillion radio stations, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
I don't know how many, but yes, between seventy and eighty.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Who.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
So, what are we going to do if this thing
becomes Okay, we're gonna make him? Mister Gandhi like, what
if we is he gonna, well, you guys long distance
it or would you ever tell? Because I know Elvis
sometimes will do the show from other places. Will you
ever say to Elvis, I'll move to Michigan and I'll
be you know.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
No, So I love this question. First of all, I'm
not the marriage type. I don't ever want to get married. Yeah,
I would like to stay in a relationship for a
long time, but I don't want to get married.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
It puts too much pressure on it.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Yeah, I just feel like it, you know, getting the
government involved.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I don't need that.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
And I think it's more romantic if I know that
any given moment someone can walk, he can leave.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
The government shuts down. Does your relationship shut down like
during a government shutdown?

Speaker 2 (06:31):
What a question?

Speaker 1 (06:32):
I don't know. That's interesting. Yeah, I guess when you're
putting the legal parts together.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
But would you ever find yourself in a position of
wanting to be in the same place always with him
and not doing the long distance thing anymore.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
I don't even know what that would be like.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I've I'll almost always do long distance because I've moved
around a lot. I would not be opposed at all
if you moved to New York City.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
What if? What if you find out something about him
when you guys live together, that is, you know, like
what I think.

Speaker 3 (06:59):
I found out this weekend for the first time because
he for the first time six years, he did the
thing with the bathroom door.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Open, and I was like, no, this is over.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Oh he did.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
I don't know what he was doing. I don't know
if he was just I know. That's why I let
it go. But I thought about being like, oh, really,
relationship under.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Shut the door, that's what we made it.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
Yeah, you can.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
I tell you something. When you are when you have
a love, the person that you love and they go
through a medical thing and you got to go and
in your case, you had to go to his bedside
at a hospital, that's when you know who truly loves you.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Yeah, I mean I think so.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
And then honestly, that's how when you know you love
that person, When you can nurse through and kind of
deal with when you see them in that hospital gown
with their bare ass sticking out of that thing and
then on the toilet and did you have to pull
the string for him and the flush or whatever? The
deal is?

Speaker 2 (07:51):
No, thank God, no, he can handle it himself. But
I was like, oh God, not this.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
You Were you in the before the whole hospital thing
and making the phone call and stuff. Were you like
going to the nurses station and like pounding then the table,
pulling out little New York attitude?

Speaker 3 (08:06):
I called you before I even got to the hospital
because I was like, I want to be armed with
what I need to be armed with when I walk
in and set foot in there, so I can start
flipping the table.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
I love it, all right, Tell tell Elvis and Danielle
and Scary and all those guys that we said.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Hello, I will they love you.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
I love them too. They love you to Elvis did
such a solid you guys did such a salad for Joe, Joe,
my son down in Tampa. He's going through a struggle
at the time, and I thought it was such a
cool thing. Elvis found out through Dennis Clark that Joe
was kind of struggling, kind of doubting himself. Elvis personally,
this is no joke. Personally paid for his plane, tickets,

(08:42):
his hotel room. It wasn't like I heard paying for
this thing and flew him up to hang out with
you guys for the day. Completely changed his his feelings
towards himself, and Elvis gave great things. So no, I
think I'm feeling that way right now. Elvis will fly somewhere.
Elvis is Seriously, he's like the most I'm telling you,
there's nobody more generous than Elvis Durante. You are absolutely right,

(09:04):
that's true. Oh last thing, real quick, Tivity want to
say hi to you before you have to leave. What's up, Tivity?

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Hey, Ghani, I was just calling or I just I
kind of text in. I am happily thirteen years not married.
So I feel you. I actually you're the first person
I've ever heard that. Like, I'm not interested in that,
but like the rest of it, Yeah, it's not that
whole marriage part.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Yeah, here's to you. And no plans on your part too,
no plans of doing that.

Speaker 4 (09:30):
Nope. No, We've got three beautiful kids and a whole
lot of pets, and we've been Yeah, we've been together
thirteen years.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
And Timmy, do you guys ever like wear fake rings
just to pretend? Or no? Never, No, So I don't
even de with that. Okay, all right, all right, she's
going back to she's going back to her show. You
can listen to it on the Iheard app. Please don't though,
We don't want to lose you, but we love you,
see Gandhi
