Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, it is Mojo in the morning show. So

(00:03):
this is actually something that is kind of popular. Yeah,
and when people do it, I always find it to
be very very interesting to see what the reaction of
everybody is. So when somebody wants a home, yes and
is looking to buy a house.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
So I thought this was a crazy situation. But my
best friend Jessica grew up on the East side of
Detroit in a house with her parents. Her parents have
passed away and she acquired the house, so she's been
living there for a couple of years. And she said,
as of recent as Detroit is probably getting more attention
than it usually gets. She has had multiple people call

(00:41):
show up to her doorstep just reach out to her
asking how much she would she would want for them
to buy her house. And she's like, I don't even
have a for sale sign up. This house is not
for sale, but everyone wants to buy it for whatever reason.
And I thought that was crazy. But what are some

(01:03):
things that people have tried to buy off of you
that aren't for sale? It could be your shoes, could
be your house.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Oh yeah, I like this as a topic.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah, because I've I know, I've seen like if Kevin
was wearing a jacket I liked. I would be like, Yo,
how much.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
For the jacket? And I would try to buy it
off of him.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Wow, you wouldn't just say where'd you get your jacket?

Speaker 5 (01:21):
And some things are one of one that happened to
me before. Literally, this is Thanksgiving Day parade. I was
on the float for Quicken at the time, and this
was like the first year Shinola was in the parade,
and they had like fifty Shinola people carrying an American
flag and they created these Shinola reversible varsity like zip
of jackets and the jacket was fire, and for some reason,

(01:44):
this dude thought that this little rinking, deep tight little
red wing shirt I had on was fire as well.
So he's like, man, can I buy him? Like, nah,
but you can give me your jacket. And we just
did a jersey shop right now.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
Really, yeah, exactly, that's so cool. That's so cool.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
The house has happened. The house thing actually just happened
to me about a month or two ago or somebody.
And I get them from realtors a lot that are
just standard. I'm sure they canvass the neighborhood. But I
got a handwritten note put in my mailbox, and it
intrigued me until I remember that my interest rate is
only two and a half percent, and I'm like, I'm
not moving.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
You don't even know what the inside of your house
looks like, but that's.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
What they ask. They say, I'm interested in you know
your house. We love the outside, we love the neighborhood.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Whatever.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
Would you be willing to let us, you know, walk
through or whatever and put an offer?

Speaker 3 (02:32):
I would think I didn't.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
I would think if somebody was walking up to me
and said, Hey, I like your shoes.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Can I buy your shoes?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
I would think I am about to get arrested for something,
like if like a form of solicitation or something, you
know what I mean. Like, I would think to myself,
I'm like going, this guy's trying to rob me, Like
he's trying. Yeah, I'm gonna give him my shoes. Next
thing I know, he's gonna like steal my wallet and run.
What's up, Princess? How you doing?

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Good morning?

Speaker 6 (02:57):
Good morning?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
What's going on?

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Have you had this happen where somebody just randomly came
up to you and wanted to buy your place? Well?

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I own a house and I own two lots in
Detroit and.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
They'll just send you random text messages to ask you
do you want to tell your house?

Speaker 1 (03:11):
I think I think that stuff is scams. I think
those are just real estate agents looking for a listing.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
And they call you too.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
I've had calls too.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, I've seen that happen before. And you know what
you do next time that happens. Tell them one million
dollars and see see what they say. I'm telling you.
Call them on their their bluff. Instead of just saying no,
I'm not right now, tell them give them a price
on something and see if anybody buys what.

Speaker 5 (03:36):
You're pink pinky on the corner of your mouth and
you say one.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
What's Okasi? How you doing? Cassidy?

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Hey?

Speaker 6 (03:45):
For some long time on the phone? Hey, So I
have this one.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Jacket from from the back of that's like Bruce never
broken and everythingle time that I wear.

Speaker 6 (04:01):
It, somebody offers to buy it off of me.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
And even though it's a woman's jacket.

Speaker 3 (04:06):
I have had men try to buy it off of me.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
Wow, is there a price you would give it to
them for?

Speaker 6 (04:13):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (04:13):
I say, like three hundred dollars every.

Speaker 6 (04:15):
Time, and nobody wants somebody they like, but you can't
get it anymore.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
So ye, don't come down on that price. I'm telling
you one of these absolutely not that nice. Omar, what's up? Omar? Hey,
I'm the going guys.

Speaker 6 (04:35):
So I just wanted to comment. I I build like
retro bikes from scratch usually, So a couple of years back,
I built a.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Bike and after I finished it, I was riding it around.

Speaker 5 (04:46):
Notice this guy has been like following me for like
two three miles, and so you know, I carry and
stuff and trying it up, pulling over and like I'm like,
you know, what are you following me for?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
And the guy's like, oh man, it's.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
A really nice bike. I want to buy it.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
I want to buy you wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Leave me a little ended up getting his number, and
then yeah, I ended up selling it to him because
he just kept messaging me like every other day like
did you change your mind yet?

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Did you change your mind yet?

Speaker 2 (05:07):
So?

Speaker 3 (05:08):
What's the money good enough? What do you give you?

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yeah, I mean all in all, I was like maybe
seventeen hundred into the bike, because you know, it was
an eighty eighty one c M four fifty Honda about
it for like five hundred bucks.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
Wait, wait, stop, how much money did you make on it?

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I sold it for six grand, so I made about forty.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Hundred Shannon, Shannon, it's an eighty four m D four.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
You know what that means. But you know what, why
would you not make six grand on that? Are you
kidding me?

Speaker 1 (05:43):
If he was an eighty four m D five, it's
not worth as much money.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
But you know, you know this stuff. Omar, Thank you? Omar.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Yeah, you're you're right.

Speaker 3 (05:53):
You sound like you know it too. I do, Thanks, Omar.

Speaker 6 (06:17):
Good morning. I had a condo in Gibraltar, pretty close
to the water and to the last. I've been there
twenty seven years, and several times somebody was knocking on
my door sending me letters saying I want to buy
your condo, and I said no, I've lived here for

(06:37):
too long. Finally they came to my door and they said,
we'll give you this much and I laughed and I said,
add fifty grand to it. They said deal, can you'd
be out in a month. Yeah, I'll be out next week.
But I've had it thirty years and I think I
paid fifty.

Speaker 3 (06:54):
Thousand for it.

Speaker 6 (06:56):
And I walked out of there was four hundred grants.

Speaker 1 (06:58):

years and last year was their twentieth anniversary.

like an alf fall over it and we went to
the bar after and the guy comes up to me.
He goes, can I buy that jacket? I go, yeah,
this jacket right here?

Speaker 3 (07:35):
He goes, yeah, I'm like, how much will you give me?
He goes, I'll give you a hundred bucks? So I
made like fifty bucks on it.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Oh hey, Joanne, you know that Anna has guys walk
up to her at bars all the time asking for
her underwear.

Speaker 3 (07:47):

perfect for Shannon or myself. What's up, Sam? Hi?

Speaker 6 (08:12):
