Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to Shannon. Came back with a tan from Florida.
How are you?

Speaker 2 (00:03):
I'm good little chili.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
I know, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (00:07):
And sunny and had a cloud in the sky compared
to as soon as you land you're like, why do
we live? I mean, I love where we live, but
you come back from a beautiful, warm place and it's
a little depressing.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
You went with a bunch of girls, but something interesting
about one particular person without Yeah, on the trip, I.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Went with four of my my closest girlfriends, women who
I know through our kids, all being friends with each other,
and we went down to Marco Island, Florida, where one
of my girlfriends her family has a condo. So we
were lucky. We didn't have to pay for a hotel
or anything, or an airbnb. It was really nice and
so I shared a room with my girlfriend Ashley, who

(00:47):
actually she was the purpose of the trip because she
beat breast cancer this year, so eighteen chemo treatments and
an astectomy, and yeah, she she deserved to be celebrated.
So her and I room together. We you know, snuggled
in a bed. In the first night we were there,
were getting ready for bed and washing my face, brushing
my teeth, and she's getting into bed and she I'm

(01:08):
noticing she's pulling something out of her suitcase, and I'm thinking,
what the heck is she doing. She pulls out dump
truck pillowcases and proceeds to put them on the pillows
on her side of the bed.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
And I said, what are you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
And she said, there's a certain kind of fabric pillowcase
that she likes, and that's what she buys at home.
The only extras she had were ones from her boys,
so she grabbed them through them in her suitcase and
she puts them on pillows wherever she goes really hotel, Airbnb,

(01:45):
friends place.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Brings your own pillow case.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
He brings her own.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Pillowcases to put on the pillows.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
Are they people that bring their own? I know people
who do that tells because they think that the hotel
stuff is dirty.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
But she just likes the fabric she likes, which I get.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
By the way, I totally understand where she's coming from.
I've just never packed my own pillowcases before.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
That seemed like a cute story at first, when I
was thinking to myself that she was going to miss
her kids.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
No it had nothing to do with the kids, because
then I'm.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Thinking to myself, you're on away from kids trip.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Oh no, I don't even think she thought about her kids. Yeah,
well for three days.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah no. You don't want to be thinking about your
kids except for the dumb tuck truck pillowcase when you're
laying your head on the pillow after a bunch of
espresso Martini's so all right. So this is Anna brings
up a point about people that I get worried about
bed bugs and things like that. To me, I'm always
so funny with going to bed at a I don't

(02:43):
I think everything's clean and I'll just deal with it
later if it's not. We have friend like Tim Richards.
I think you guys have met Tim. Oh he goes
in and he strips everything off. Yeah, and he puts
it all in the corner, and then he gets all
and then he brings his bags in and once he
strips everything off, and I'm like him. If those bad
bugs are there, they're hopping, they're in the hallway, they're everywhere.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
In they say at hotels, you're supposed to do that.
You're supposed to take off the comforter and the throw
pillows and just push them off to the side because
they don't clean those after every guess.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Wow, well I guess the sheets.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Yeah, but the comforters no, well they do as a
blanket the blanket shiver.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
So yeah, I think because no, because it's the big one, right,
it's the big heavy one that's on top. Yeah. Which,
by the way, they did a thing on ABC one
time where they had a guy with a black light
and you see sperm. It's sperm or big bugs, probably sperm.
I could clean myself from sperm. I think you have

(03:45):
to fuma gate from bed bugs.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
Sperm.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
I can at least it's like out a I don't
have to think about it.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Out of side, out of mind. Bed bugs. They're following
you home.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
I've slept in sperm before, and I'm fine by that.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
I've also stated a very nice hotel and member got
bedbug bites.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
All over one side of my Listen. I've stayed in
a very nice hotel. As I'm leaving the hotel and
I'm looking under the bed to make sure that something
of mine, like a soccer or whatever, didn't fall underneath.
There there were used condoms underneath the bed. I was
like this is a nice hotel. It's like a four
or five star with Kim. What do you do?

Speaker 4 (04:16):
Good morning everybody, first time caller A long time.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
I also bring a satin pillow case.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
I'm an African American woman with our here. Yeah, we
like our satin pillowcase sleep. Want to keep the ools
in our hair, So I bring my pillow case everywhere
I go off.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Okay, I like that sat iss satin like satin, like silk.
Does it feel like that we're here? It's so comfortable.
I like the pillowcases and the pillows that are always cool.
They remain cool, you know, right right?

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Someone every night and bring it with me everywhere I go.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
As a single man, you got to have a couple
of those on deck for visitors at your home to
make them feel more comfortable. Sleep over you you have
women that come to your house and stay the night. Kevin,
this is Neoves. I thought I thought he was a
good Christian boy. There cam you like to play tennis?
Who like to play tennis? With your remarks? Sometimes play

(05:19):
what's going on? Hi? Madison? How you doing Hi?

Speaker 5 (05:23):
I usually when I go to hotels for vacations, I
bring my silk pilowcases because I have acne prone skins,
so I never use anything at the hotel. I always
use my silk pillowcases.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Okay, all right, do you pack that in your luggage
like your carry on luggage? And that's I do.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
Sometimes I'll just buy one Amazon and honestly just throw
it away after just because you never know what's at
the hotel. But yeah, I always bring a silk coilorcase
with me everywhere I go.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
I wonder if there are people that ever bring their
own betting, like full on betting to a hotel and
put it on a hotel or an airbnb.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
That's a little much for me, but still acas.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
And then you have to bring it, so then you
have to pack the dirty stuff in your suitcase and
bring it.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah, I think so, right. Or in her case, she
said that she buys on Amazon, so she might just
leave it there right at medicine.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
Yeah, sometimes I just got like I just throw it away.
They are like twelve dollars on Amazon. It's really cheap.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Chelsea got a bad back, so there's like rarely a
good bed that she can sleep on. And we've stayed
at a hotel a couple of times. In Chicago where
the bed was so good. She made me go to
the front desk and ask them, oh, what kind of
because she wanted that bed. She was like, this bed
was so amazing. And we were there for like a
couple of nights when we were visiting Jake, and it

(06:37):
was like this bed would give her the best sleep.
It was awesome. And I believe that it's not the bed.
I believe it's your mindset of all right, I'm here,
I'm relaxing, I'm having fun, you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Like, yeah, I don't know if it's clean. There's nothing
for me to pick up.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
Although I have stayed in hotels where the beds were atrocious.
Same they were like the absolute worst. Have you ever
been on vacation hotel Airbnb? More so hotel where somebody
has brought like one of those polls to put under
the door for like extra security. No, I you know
what I think, misfit Victor told me. He Victor puts

(07:13):
like some kind of an alarm system and the door
so if somebody walks in and alarm goes off. Have
you ever seen those things that you put by the
door and if it moves, Yeah, but there are people
that get freaked out by that. You should because people
walk in your hotel roon.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Look what happened to lydia Bianca and I in Chicago
a couple of weekends ago.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
The guy came in and brought us a microwave in
the middle of the night.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
Yeah, he had a key card though he was thinking,
you guys were freaky. What what three girls share a
room together and ask for a microwave? What are they wondering?
What's going on in thatving room? What's going on? Megan?
How you doing good? How good? My questions answered? Your
friend explained what she does.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
So no matter where she goes hotel friend's house, she
brings like four pilows of her own, a blanket, everything.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Oh my gosh, like the whole thing, like the uh yeah,
does she throw those in a check bag because I
would guess that that's probably all going to be in there.

Speaker 4 (08:10):
Yeah, And then like she has like a big duffel
bag that she brings, like if she comes to your
house for the oh.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
My gosh, that's wild that she's paying a lot of money.
Although the guy that's lifting that bag to put it
up on the plane is probably like this thing is light.
What's going on? Nikki there? Yeah? Here, good morning y'all, Niky.
Nicky says, don't forget her comforter and what else? A fan.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
I always bring my own comforter and a fan.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
I cannot sleep without a fan.

Speaker 5 (08:38):
This woman gets hot at night.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
I like it. Chelsea brings a sound machine with her sometimes.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
I did that for a while too, Yeah, and.

Speaker 1 (08:45):
Then I was like, can't we just put our phone right?

Speaker 2 (08:47):
And then I started doing that.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah, but that.

Speaker 4 (08:49):
That makes sense too, though, you know, because you have
strange noises.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
That you don't have at home. Yeah, yeah, you disrupt
your sleep. What kind of sounds is she sleeping too?
Chelsea has like just like white noisi ish like like somebody.
We have it in our bedroom. And when Chelsea is
not the first one in bed, I can't fall asleep.
And I realized what it is is.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
I can't thunderstorms on automatically at eleven.

Speaker 1 (09:13):
I'd pee my bed. I love that was a bed
weather that would Yeah, all of a sudden, i'd hear it.
I go, oh boy, it's Harry Coms Little Tom. He's
coming back again. Could be maybe I don't know what's up? Kaylee?
How you doing?

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Good.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
How are you guys?

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Good morning, Kayley, what's up?

Speaker 5 (09:32):
I would sleep. I would travel for work, and we'd
stay in hotels and the sky.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
I didn't stay in the same room.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
As him, but another coworker told me he'd strip the
bed and then just worm up in a sleeping bag.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Oh my gosh, in sleep you might as well that point,
you might as well have a crazy Oh my gosh,
that's like really freaky.

Speaker 5 (09:54):
So well, apparently he got bed bugs once, so he
thought that that would up.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
And never again tur that. Wow, Well, we love we
love you. You take care of yourself.
