A man with a gun arrested trying to get into
Romulus Middle School in Romulus, Michigan with a weapon. W

Governor Gretchen Whitmer addressing the gun scare, saying in a
statement that her office is closely following the situation and
in contact with local officials. She went on to thank
law enforcement and school personnel for their quick action. Thankfully,
police say the man was never able to make it
inside the building on Wick Road. This morning, Seven News
Detroit reporter Whitney Bernie has been speaking with worried parents,

along with the superintendent and police to see what protocols
may have saved lives today.

Police say that nine to one one call came in
just before ten o'clock this morning, sending students and staff
into a soft lockdown.

Doctor Edmonton has called demands your immediate attention here, raising
voicemails and to rons middle school parents Tuesday morning after
a suspect with a gun approached the building.

Keon Gardner, one of several parents rushing to the school
to pick his students up. I know we've had some
tragedies in Michigan. What's that feeling for you knowing that

the work that they did to keeping our kids safe.

Police say they received to call it nine to fifty
three am from school staff that suspect quickly in custody.

person in within literally seconds, we had officers respond.

reason he may have been there. Police are also still
working to learn if the suspect fired shots or if

along the way, but the twenty twenty five season did
