In this episode of The Sober Scoop, we're exploring something many of us fear but eventually have to face: how do you grieve without alcohol? If drinking was once your go-to coping mechanism, navigating loss in sobriety can feel overwhelming, unfamiliar, and sometimes impossible. Together, we'll unpack why grief can be such a powerful trigger, what the research says about substance use and bereavement, and how we can begin to move ...
In honor of my 30th birthday, this episode is about timelines, expectations, and the sunk cost mindset that keeps us stuck in situations we’ve outgrown. We convince ourselves that because we’ve already invested time, history, or effort into something, it’s harder (or even too late) to start over.
But life doesn’t actually work on a schedule. There is no “too late,” no perfect timing, and n...

I used to drink around 15 beers a day, all throughout the day -because I wanted to maintain a two-beer buzz. I wanted to feel slightly tipsy all day, but avoid getting "out of control." Everybody drinks in different ways, and there's no one "right" way to have a drinking problem. We're all on the same team in sobriety :) -no matter how we used to drink, but today I'm sharing my story, in case anyone can relate!

Today’s episode is a heavy one. I’m opening up about my ongoing struggle with ADHD and OCD symptoms, and why I’m seriously considering medication to make everyday life more manageable. One of the things I struggled with in the beginning of sobriety was the abundance of time. My days basically doubled when I quit drinking, and it was really hard to fill my time when I was SO bored, yet also hyper and restless.
What was once a burden on my life is now my favorite part about life!! Having the entire day to be productive and enjoy life has truly been a blessing. I went from "when is this day going to end?" to "I've do...
In today’s episode, we’re talking about healthier ways to manage stress without turning to alcohol. For so many of us, drinking has been the go-to because it works fast -it takes the edge off and gives quick relief. But that relief is temporary, and it doesn’t actually address what’s underneath the stress. Over time, it can leave us feeling even more anxious, overwhelmed, and stuck in a cycle.
So today, I&rsq...
Jumping on (solo) to give you some of my most random, but useful hacks for sobriety :) I call these "hacks" because they're super small little things that only time and experience could have revealed. I don't hear a lot of other people talking about these, so hopefully they can help somebody out there -because I know they've helped me.

After traveling solo in Vietnam, India realized something shocking: most people are afraid to be alone… and it’s prohibiting them from becoming their best selves. In this episode, she breaks down how doing things alone can rebuild confidence, clarity, and sense of self -and why learning to be a little selfish might be the key to changing your life.
