Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the Zidium podcast network.

Speaker 2 (00:03):

Speaker 3 (00:07):
Welcome to a little bit.

Speaker 4 (00:08):
Of Podhon, have you got the X for something?

Speaker 5 (00:11):
I got the OK for someone harder than I've ever
got the OK before. Man, I've dated some boys.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
That gave me the Yeah, you've told us stories and
you suddenly have Yeah, but you don't know this man.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
It was a stranger.

Speaker 5 (00:24):
No, I don't know his name, I know nothing about him,
but I have the IRK for him.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
What did he do that eked you so hard?

Speaker 5 (00:31):
I was walking down one of the most beautiful streets
in New Zealand, Queen Street.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
That was good.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Yeah, only someone from East Auckland would make that observation.
Streets are so vanilla.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
The Queen Street, You're like, wow, it's a vibrant out here.

Speaker 5 (00:49):
So I was walking down Queen Street and it was busy.
It was like midday, so people would got on the
lunch vibe and like you know, it was just pumping.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
It has been busy lately.

Speaker 4 (00:58):
Yes, it's nice, good.

Speaker 5 (01:00):
And so I was walking through and I have no
headphones at the moment, which is scary.

Speaker 4 (01:04):
It's a hard time and so I'm walking.

Speaker 5 (01:06):
And I'm really observant of the world when I've got
no headphones. I guess this is what like Boomins did
for a long time.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
You just existed out here, like seeing and smelling and hearing.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
They would have quite often had the record players in
a trolley.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
They were in a long extension course.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
It's interesting.

Speaker 5 (01:22):
And you know, so I was walking and there's a
lot of Lime scooters around and all the Flamingo scooters
and all the brands, and this guy starts honing around,
like dodging through the crowd, and I hear him go,
we're all.

Speaker 4 (01:37):
And he's making race carts. Yeah. Time.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Sometimes sometimes I'll be.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
Like you, I will say the one charming thing about us.
He was smiling so much like it.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Is I do because.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yeah, I ride them every day, so the novelty is
worn off. But if we're out with friends and I'm
being silly, I'll do a little.

Speaker 5 (02:03):
Literally And then like we got to a part of
the these kind of like a four year outside New world,
you know, there's a bit of a space, and he
did a bit of like not a full donut, but
he kind of did a and I was like, I
love that. Oh man, I wish i'd headphones.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
So real with this.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Yeah, I think it's.

Speaker 5 (02:26):
Just like the way he was dodging the crowds, and
like there's something about having your feet in front of
each other as a man.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yes, because where else would we put our I kind
of put my front foot forward and then I do
a bit of a cock of the lead.

Speaker 6 (02:43):
Yeah. I get when he stands really very good. I
get it from fleets, when he stands really erict, really
tall and upright on his schooner. I'm like, well, how
else are I mean, just lax a bit.

Speaker 4 (02:57):
It's odd, it's a bit.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Well, I haven't had a crash, have I? Well, I'm
obviously a good Well.

Speaker 6 (03:01):
It's struck because you're working your core to stay stable exactly.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Do you know? I just looked on the app while
you were talking about this. Are my current stats? Because
you know why, I ride them quite a bit to
work and stuff. I've done seven hundred and three kilometers
this year, no, in total in my life.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
That wow, that's a lot.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
Can you see how much you've spent Yeah, no, one
hundred and eighty eight rides.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
You're a fear way down the North Island.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yeah, yeah, that would get me, and you think I
used Beam for years before they got canceled when they
remember the PARTINUA.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
So that's just that's just one scooter brand.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Yes, that's not even all I reckon. I'd be a thousand.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Easy. You could have got herman for us. You could
have on the scooter street stupricious, too precious for.

Speaker 6 (03:48):
That stuprecious, and you ride too rogue As someone who
has been on the back of flitchers.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
Before we arrived safely, Thank you all.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
I'm alive to tell the story. But it feels like,
just well, this is a PSA.

Speaker 5 (03:58):
If you even want to have sea with a woman,
don't make scooter sounds, but don't make race cars, honest
race car sounds.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
And I've had six with a woman once once and
she's your mom.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
Whoa, whoa, whoa, not even joking, this is right, I
tell you, I'm actually Carmen's father

Speaker 3 (04:22):
And I left yeah, oh my god, twice

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
