Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to A Little Bit of Pod.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Well, you may see I put a little video up
on the socials over the weekend.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
I had a weekend at home.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
For the first time in a long time.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Oh, yes, maybe since May. Yeah, it's been crazy.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
And, of course, you took this opportunity to relax and
do not a lot.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Well, kind of.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
I did go out on Friday to a party, but
on Saturday night I was at home with the boyfriend.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
Here's the name. His name's Mike.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
And I realised, we've been together for a while now,
and he hasn't had a proper induction into the world
of marching.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
God, I saw these posts. It went all out. It
was giving kids doing a performance at the family Christmas.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Like for attention. Full thing, full thing.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
There were colour-themed outfits provided, the colours of my old
team that I used to march for. and I'd gotten
out some old photos and stuff of me as a
child and my mum and my grandad in the 70s,
you know, doing their marching and whatnot and my badges
and I sort of talked to them about how the
(01:12):
whistle works and all this kind of stuff and I
put together a playlist of my proudest moments marching moments
from over my long marching career.
Speaker 1 (01:22):
Was there nothing on Netflix?
Speaker 3 (01:25):
I was going to say, she has to be pretty dire.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
She's gone from every weekend having thousands of adoring screaming
fans say, I need attention. Look at this.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Look at this. Look at this movement. Look at this movement.
Do you see we're in a square and now we're
in a line and now we're back to a square.
Look at this. We're going backwards. We're going backwards. We're
not hitting each other. Like he, he, he really enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
I mean, marching is very impressive when you look at
it and you, and you watch it in an Edinburgh tattoo.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
It's very good.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
And he was properly impressed, but I had so many
messages on Instagram being like, the poor bastard.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
I know. I feel so sorry.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Oh, that poor bastard.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
No, no, no.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
He's into it.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
He was very impressed.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
No, I feel like it's still.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
Too early in the relationship to be like, I'm not interested. Like,
let's not bother.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah, early days. He wouldn't just be like, I don't... I.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Don't care about this. Just show me quickly, in a minute.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Yeah, show me the highlights.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
And I was like, so when you do it in
New Zealand, it's a national sport and you have to
do it like this. And these are the different disciplines
and these are sort of the rules and whatnot.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
One thing he did take, like a champ... He took
it like a champ. Sorry. After the marching, he took
it like a champ. Yeah, he took it like an
absolute champ. No, no.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
It was sort of, I did a whole kind of,
made a whole thing out of it. And one of
them was he has to have a traditional marching girls cocktail,
which is the drink that we'd have the moment we
could get to the cast bar after a tattoo or
a performance or something.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Jagerbombs.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
Oh, God.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
So you're having a quiet night at home and you're
rocking a Red Bull. And you do a marching team.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
This was like the marching girl trick was you get
a marching team of Jagerbombs. So it's 10 girls and
you put them in position like a block.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
What time did you do this Jagerbomb?
Speaker 2 (02:52):
7.30.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Oh, you won't sleep. Oh, no.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
Terrible night's sleep. Ten Jager bombs on board. But no,
it was very good.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
He was very impressed with it all and, you know,
sort of feigned interest. He kind of has to, doesn't he? Yeah,
all the stuff like that. Well, I fucking listened to
him go on about how good the new Spider-Man film
is and, you know what I mean, Batman and all
that kind of stuff.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
Oh, yeah, I reckon he was just putting some Grand
Theft Auto time in the bin there.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
I watched the 26-minute Netflix trailer.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Wow i'm sorry there is a 27 minute trailer so
they released ahead of the gta6 drop who am i
sorry just heard it wow yeah geez wow there's a
little gameplay in there and a little bit behind the scenes.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Stuff yeah it was like someone playing it and whatnot
and he was like just what just watch it and
i was like i couldn't really be like no after
he's watched hours of.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Marching and Oh, yeah, yeah. You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Do you think that was a subtle way of showing you?
Speaker 3 (03:49):
Yeah, being like, how interesting is it when you're not
interested in someone else's hobbies?
Speaker 1 (03:52):
And you're held captive.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah, you would get held captive in this house, being
forced to watch something
Speaker 3 (03:58):
That is of little interest to you.
