Τον είχα τοποθετήσει στην επάνω αριστερά κόχη του δωματίου μου. Εκεί αραχνούλες ύφαιναν ένα πυκνό σχετικά δίχτυ που καμιά ταβανόσκουπα δεν είχε σαρώσει. Από το κρεβάτι μου -ιδίως τις νύχτες, που μου έσβηναν τα φώτα και άφηναν στην πρίζα μόνο ένα πράσινο λαμπάκι για να μη με τρομάζει το απόλυτο σκοτάδι- από το κρεβάτι μου τον έβλεπα καθαρά. Ή έτσι νόμιζα...».
