Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, my name is Sherry and welcome to my podcast,
silver T, and thank you forjoining me, and I know you guys
are wondering what was in thatbig box that I had.
Well, really it wasn't aboutthe box, it's more about who
sent the box.
So let me tell you about whosent the box when I was going
through my chemo treatment andwhen I went through my recovery.

(00:23):
I was going through my chemotreatment and when I went
through my recovery, my nursenavigator, when I first was
diagnosed with breast cancer, she told me about an
organization called Unite forHer and she was saying to me
Sherry, have you ever heard ofthis organization?
I said no, no, not at all.
So she gave me a box and toldme to go sign up and I did, and

(00:45):
then in the mail came a big box,a bigger box.
You saw the box and in it itwas chock full of so many
services and samples that theyhad in there for you to try.
Now, unite for Her, unite forHer.
I want to say it slow becauseit sounds like I said United for
Her, it's Unite for Her, ititefor Her.
I want to say it slow becauseit sounds like I said united for
her.
It's Unite for Her.

(01:06):
It's not just for women, butit's for men as well.
And let me tell you how itworks.
In the box, you get a passport, and a passport has 10 squares
and each square represents, sonot each square, so you can use
the square for the services thatthey offer.

(01:27):
So, if you want to, I use theSun Basket Service, which is a,
a company that sends pre-cookedmeals to your home, and you get
it for one month and one squarefor one month.
You'll have pre-cooked mealscoming to your home for four
weeks, and the wonderful thingabout that is when you're coming

(01:52):
home from treatment and you'retired, you don't feel like
staying in the kitchen.
You just don't no kitchen.
You just want to go straight tobed, because that chemotherapy
will mess you up.
You just want to go straight tobed because that chemotherapy
will mess you up.
You just want to go straightand get in bed.
So I use the Sun Basket serviceand let me tell you about
another service that they have.

(02:13):
It's so much stuff in here Iwon't be able to cover
everything, so I'm going to justtell you about the, tell you
what I use.
So, so, after the Sun basket Idid.
They have another service calledlancaster farm fresh co-op
program and for three square twoor three squares you get fresh
vegetables delivered to yourhouse, right to your door, for

(02:38):
six weeks and you use twosquares or three squares, I'm
not sure.
I can't remember now which oneit was, but it's been a while.
So you, you get the vegetables, fresh vegetables and I started
using the service after my chemowas over and I was getting
these wonderful, delicious endseason vegetables and they had

(03:00):
some interesting stuff in theirsand they'll tell you what.
What was coming in the basketand sometimes you got it and
sometimes you didn't.
You got something new.
It was like a jack-in-the-box,like okay, it said I was gonna
get broccoli, rob and, and I gotwhatever this is.
So it was interesting.
It was interesting, so I usedthose two services and also with

(03:23):
that they also send you in thebasket.
I mean, I'm sorry, in the carepackage they also sent you
nugget of knowledge and thenugget of knowledge gave you,
made you more aware of what youwere eating and putting in your
body, and they also talked aboutsome of the foods that help

(03:44):
with slowing down the agingprocess.
We all know that our skinchanges during the movements and
you lose your hair and you gothrough a lot.
So you really want to take careof your skin.
So they give you a lot, of, alot of little information on
eating for your skin and in theaging process.
So they talked about lemons howlemons are good for eating for

(04:05):
years To help with the agingprocess, to slow it down, not to
speed it up, to slow it down.
They talked about greens whatkind of greens you can eat To
help with the aging process.
This is like a fountain ofyouth information, so it keeps
you looking young for a longtime.
They talked about herbs andspices and I grow herbs in my

(04:27):
garden and I'll show you mygarden in my garden vlog and
they gave you the top fivebeauty foods that you can eat to
help with slowing down youraging process.
So they gave you a lot ofinformation.
They also have which I thoughtwas nice they had samples in

(04:48):
there.
They gave you samples of theirbeauty line.
They have a whole beautyproduct line to help you take
care of your skin while you weregoing through that treatment.
They only have samples.
You just go online and orderthis.
They give back towards.
Where is it?
Let me tell you what they.
So here's the.
Here's their beauty line.

(05:10):
They give.
Let's see here.
They give like 10 cents fromyour order to help with breast
cancer and, I'm sorry, to helpwith the organization.
So they gave you back Once youorder.
10 cents went back into theorganization when you ordered

(05:30):
and I really liked the one theyhad in there.
They had a sample in there.
I really liked a lot.
It was the Brighten Day Cream.
I really liked the way it mademe feel you made me feel fresh.
My skin felt good and fresh.
I really enjoyed it.
It was a nice, a nice creamthat you put on your face.

(05:51):
So I really enjoyed that.
And I also came with the soap.
I really did like the soap.
I still use that soap today.
It's a part of my, my routine.
When I get in the shower Iapply it on my face and I will
do a skin routine.
That I do now.
Now is my new norm, and theytalk about how, how you can

(06:13):
change your routine with yourskincare regimen.
I changed mine a a little bit,but they got a lot of stuff in
there to help you take care ofyour skin, because your skin is
one of the largest organs onyour body and you want to take
care of that skin.
And they give you a lot ofinformation on how to take care
of that skin.
And they also let me talk about.

(06:34):
They give you a lot of goodrecipes in there.
So I got the bone broth thetalk about.
They give you a lot of goodrecipes in there.
So I got the bone broth, thebone broth.
They give you a recipe for thebone broth.
I do make my own bone broth.
I use the Instant Pot to makemy bone broth and I really do
like it.
It comes out really good.

(06:56):
I'll pour like a cup of brothand I'll drink it when I'm not
supposed to be eating somethingsweet, because sometimes I find
that eating savory helps with mysweet cravings.
I don't know if it works foreverybody, but it seems to, and
it's mostly at night.
We have these sweet cravings atnighttime, so I just get a
little cup of bone broth anddrink it and it helps keep me

(07:19):
from reaching for the stuff I'mnot supposed to be eating.
And they also give you a recipefor the vegetable broth, the
vegetable broth.
They tell you it's called thedaily cup healing vegetable
broth.
I think you, you got so much tochoose from, and in the box in
my care package they also gaveme some reading, some books to

(07:43):
read about eating healthy.
This one is 365 days ofinspirational, daily inspiration
, inspirations for nourishingbeauty inside and out.
So you, it's going to nourishyou inside and out and I like it
.
I still read it.
You see my little bookmark.
It it's seasonal, so you startwith a season that you're in and

(08:05):
and they'll give you, give youa lot of information on why you
shouldn't be eating certainfoods or bring your food so you
can enjoy, because you might, you might not want to be eating
off the grill, which, which Ilove grilled food, but sometimes
that grilled food can mess withyour aging, speed up the aging
process, so you don't want that, but sometimes you just got to

(08:26):
splurge.
I do try not to.
I try to watch my stuff at home.
Here's another book.
It's called the Cancer FightingKitchen.
I really like this book.
Look at a beautifulillustration on the front.
Looks good, doesn't it?
Well, I haven't made it yet.
I haven't made it yet.
I want to make this one.
I have not made this one yet,but they do have some delectable

(08:51):
recipes in there that you youlike.
They also kind of help you withyour pocket.
When I say your pocket, whenyou're on a tight budget, they
give you some information aboutbuying organic.
Do we need to buy organic?
All the time I ask myself.

(09:11):
When I hear organic, I hearching, ching, more money, ching,
ching, ching, ching.
So this gives you information.
Do you necessarily need to buyorganic?
So they talk about the dirtydozen foods you should buy
organic, like strawberries andapples and grapes and cherries

(09:33):
and cherry tomatoes.
I mean all these things youwant to buy organic because of
the, the pesticide process, thechemicals.
So let me read what it sayshere these foods have been
identified as containing thehighest level of chemicals and
pesticides when grown usingconventional farming methods.

(09:56):
And then we tell you about theclean food.
It says the clean 15 foods.
You don't have to buy organic.
So don't think, every time youwalk in the store, you might,
you might want to get a list ofthings you don don't have to buy
organic.
So don't think, every time youwalk in the store, you might,
you might want to get a list ofthings.
You don't necessarily have tobuy organic.
But it said the things you donot have to buy organic.
It gave you a list or theavocados, corn, pineapples,

(10:17):
cauliflower.
They give you a whole list ofinformation here.
So let me get to the best part.
I've saving for last thesamples.
The samples are oh my goodness,I love tea, and they gave some
samples of tea.
This one is called TotallyTootsie and you will like this

(10:39):
tea.
It helps with nausea, it calmsyour stomach down, it helps you
relax.
So you give it a try, and it'sthrough lancaster pharmacy.
I really, I really liked it tothe point where I ordered more.
This is my next, that's myother pack, but I slowed down on
using it.
I don't use it as much becauseI don't have so much nausea

(11:03):
anymore.
But and with tea, I love allkinds of tea.
So I want to talk about what Ifound.
I found this tea you can put itin your tea and rose bud flower
tea.
And let me tell you, roses area part of helping with your
slowing down your aging process.

(11:24):
What did we get from roses?
We have rosehip oil, whichworks with wrinkles and dark
spots and keeping your skinlooking young and youthful.
So you're drinking some teawith roses in it.
You're also helping withkeeping your face looking
beautiful and young and slowingdown the aging process.

(11:45):
Now listen, ladies.
Before I go I want to say earlydetection is the best detection
.
