This is a little
crazy.
Carrie (00:18):
This is weird.
This is something that has beensuch a long time coming.
Kristine (00:22):
We've been working on
this for what, two years now?
Carrie (00:24):
Yeah.
Kristine (00:24):
The equipment has been
sitting in
Carrie (00:26):
this room
Kristine (00:27):
collecting dust
Carrie (00:28):
for two years, and the
idea's been even longer.
Kristine (00:32):
Oh, yes.
Carrie (00:32):
We knew we wanted to do
this.
We've had the name for.
Kristine (00:35):
Forever,
Carrie (00:36):
for probably 10 years.
We, we bought the domain forthis for like years ago,
Kristine (00:41):
and it's finally here.
Carrie (00:42):
It's finally here.
Kristine (00:43):
Oh my gosh.
Carrie (00:44):
So welcome to two Babes
and a bad idea.
Kristine (00:47):
It is a bad idea.
It's such a good one.
Carrie (00:49):
It's such a bad idea.
And we'll add this right at thebeginning.
Um, this could be explicit, somake sure you don't have little
ears around.
Kristine (00:57):
Yeah, we don't know
exactly what's gonna happen.
Carrie and I live veryunfiltered lives and we're gonna
continue to do so.
And you're along for the ride.
So buckle up.
It could be neat, it could beboring.
I don't know.
Carrie (01:11):
We'll find out.
So today we're just talkingabout who we are.
We're gonna introduce ourselves, let you know who we are, how we
know each other, and.
Kind of get into that for thisepisode.
So welcome.
Kristine (01:20):
All right, let's do
it.
Okay, so I'm Kristine.
Let's start off, um, with that,um, do we wanna go like in deep?
I'm 35 5 1.
What info do you want?
Um, I, Carrie, and I've beenbest friends for forever, and
she's gonna talk about a littlebit about herself as well.
And then we'll just talk in it,talk about our friendship.
Carrie (01:43):
You wanna tell me what
you're reading right now?
Kristine (01:44):
Yes.
Okay.
I love this one so much.
Okay, so I am currently reading,I'm just ending.
Um, it's called for the Fans.
It's um, do you remember theauthor
Carrie (01:56):
Nyla Nyla Kay.
Kristine (01:59):
Yeah, that's right.
Yeah.
that is probably one of thedirtiest, raunchiest Most sexy,
delicious.
Carrie (02:07):
Mm-hmm.
Kristine (02:08):
Captivating read, I
have read in a very long time.
I'm actually reading it for thesecond time, back to back.
I'm just finishing the epilogue.
Um, and it is, I just, I don'tknow if I'm actually done with
it yet.
I think I'm gonna have to goback to it maybe in a little
bit.
But it's It's sexy.
Carrie (02:26):
It's so good.
Kristine (02:27):
It's so sexy.
Carrie gave me therecommendation.
Yeah.
And um, I have yet to put itdown right.
Carrie (02:33):
It is, it is so
unbelievably amazing.
I read it back in March.
I read it, I devoured it in aday, day and a half.
Um, which is crazy cuz it's sucha long book and I just, I loved
it.
Kristine (02:45):
Yep.
It is.
If you are going to pick it up,please keep an open mind.
Um, that's your warning.
Carrie (02:51):
It's yeah, read the
triggers.
They're right at the beginning.
Kristine (02:54):
Yeah, it's, but if you
do go for it.
I promise you it is somethingthat you will love forever.
The story is just, I'm like my,I'm like closing my eyes and
just like imagining thecharacters, cuz it just, it
makes me feel whole
Carrie (03:09):
it's so good.
I love it.
It's so good.
Um, I'm reading the House Maidright now.
I'm in my thriller era.
I've switched over.
I I do love romance reads.
Don't get me wrong.
They're, they're my.
Favorite, but I started readingthe housemate and I just cannot
get enough of it.
It is so good.
It's such a good thriller.
Um, if you read Verity byColleen Hoover, you'll love the
(03:30):
premise of this book cuz itkeeps you on the edge of your
seat the whole time, but it'snot thrillery enough that it's
gonna scare you.
So it's really, really good.
I highly recommend it.
It's called the Housemate.
Kristine (03:42):
Can you gimme a
snippet of like, what it's what
it's about because I, I need anew book here right away.
Carrie (03:46):
Yeah.
So like, maybe it's somethingthat I wanna read.
Yeah, I think you'll like it.
So it's this gal and she gal,and she gets out of prison and
she's going to find a job, butshe doesn't want anyone to know
that she's.
Just gotten outta prison.
Okay.
So she goes and interviews for ajob being a housemate at mm-hmm.
Um, this couple's home and shelies in her interview.
(04:09):
She gets the job.
Mm-hmm.
And they put her up in theattic.
That's where she sleeps, in thislittle room, in the attic on
this like little cot.
And they're loaded, And they allhave these big, huge bedrooms
and they put her upstairs.
Um, okay.
Which is, you know, kind offeels a little weird, but
whatever.
She was just happy to havesomewhere to sleep cuz she was
previously living in her car andweird things start happening.
(04:31):
I can't g give you any morewithout giving away big parts of
the plot, so,
Kristine (04:35):
okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
Interesting.
Carrie (04:38):
Mm-hmm.
And it has a really big twistand like, it's just good.
Kristine (04:41):
I love that.
Yeah.
Carrie (04:42):
So I highly recommend,
that's my read right now.
Kristine (04:44):
Okay.
I will maybe I'll jump into thatnext.
Carrie (04:46):
Yeah, do it.
Kristine (04:47):
Okay.
Let's let's talk a little bitabout you, Carrie.
So I talked a little bit, alittle snippet of myself.
Mm-hmm.
Let's do you baby.
Carrie (04:54):
So I'm Carrie.
I am currently 36, but I'm goingto be 37 in a couple months.
Um, and I am married.
I've been married for 14 yearsand I have a little girl.
She's eight, almost nine, Iguess.
She's not so little anymore.
And yeah, and I own a businesswith my best friend.
Kristine (05:12):
That's me.
Carrie (05:13):
And now we have a
podcast.
Oh my God.
Which is so weird.
Kristine (05:15):
So weird.
Um, I also am married, I forgotthat part.
Sorry, Jayce.
I've been married for 12 years.
Mm-hmm.
Is that right?
Mm-hmm.
Um, 12 years.
I have a daughter, she's almostseven.
And our husbands are also bestfriends.
So that's a little snippet
Carrie (05:33):
Yeah.
Kristine (05:34):
Of our lives,
Carrie (05:34):
but we are best friends
first.
Yes.
Yeah.
We're always though j we're jg.
Kristine (05:37):
Mm-hmm.
Naturally.
Um, yeah.
So that's, that's us to beginwith.
But you guys are gonna learn somuch more,
Carrie (05:44):
so much about, about us.
Kristine (05:45):
So let's start off
about how we came to be as
friends.
Okay.
Because Carrie is, I don't knowif I actually mentioned my age.
I'm 35.
Carrie (05:52):
Yeah, you said you're
35.
Kristine (05:52):
Okay.
So Carrie's two years older.
Okay.
Um, But that so that doesn'treally line up with school?
Carrie (05:58):
No.
Kristine (05:58):
We've known each other
pretty much our whole lives.
So how did we come to be Carrie?
Carrie (06:04):
So, when I was in grade
five, I, um, met a girl in my
class.
Her name was Amanda, and webecame best friends.
We were best friends up untilprobably like mid high school,
grade 12.
And she happens to be Kristine'soldest sister.
Kristine (06:18):
And then I stole
Carrie.
Carrie (06:20):
She did, she did.
She took me, I mean, we, wewould always hang out.
Oh yeah.
When Amanda and I were there.
But you were more like myannoying younger sister at that
point.
Kristine (06:27):
I was actually
explaining that today when we
were getting her hair done.
Um, the lady, the gal, Cindy, who was doing my hair, who's
fantastic by the way.
Um, she asked how we got to, howwe came to be, and I was telling
her like, My mom kind of made meplay, not play with you guys.
Mm-hmm.
But hang out with you guys.
Mm-hmm And I think that's kindof how it started.
(06:49):
Cuz I was always around like Iwas, I'm my middle child so I
was too old to hang out with mylittle sister cuz it weird.
The age gap was just too much.
And then I was, I.
You know, I was kind of on thatcusp mm-hmm.
Of teenager.
Mm-hmm.
I guess with you guys.
So my mom kind of was like, just, just hang out with her and
shut up kind of thing.
Mm-hmm.
And then you guys did?
Carrie (07:06):
Yeah, we did.
Kristine (07:06):
And then that's how we
kind of came to be and started
being a little bit closer andmm-hmm.
Learning who each other wereand,
Carrie (07:13):
and then it probably
wasn't until high school Yeah.
That you and I.
Like started talking outside ofYeah.
Kristine (07:20):
So, well, Amanda was
in, she started cheerleading in,
in junior high.
Carrie (07:24):
Oh yeah.
And we, yeah.
Yeah.
We were not, we used to talk onthe phone.
Kristine (07:26):
Yeah.
So, and we weren't, um, part ofthe cheer team or any other
sport since.
Carrie (07:31):
No.
Kristine (07:31):
Um, so we would chat
on the phone and hang out a
little bit more, and then itjust kind of like gradually
mm-hmm.
Snowballed into the fact thatlike, Amanda kind of drifted
off.
Um, and I want, I wanna prefaceby saying you guys are just very
different people and like wentinto their different lives.
Carrie (07:47):
Oh yeah.
Kristine (07:47):
And I didn't like
steal her, like I wasn't a, an
asshole.
Carrie (07:50):
No, no, no.
Kristine (07:52):
I mean, I'm always an
asshole, but
Carrie (07:53):
yeah.
No, no, no.
We, Amanda and I are even asadults now, we're just very
different.
And we were, we were really goodfriends for a long time and
we're still friends.
It's just.
Yeah, we were
Kristine (08:03):
different lives.
Carrie (08:04):
We were different from
each other,
Kristine (08:05):
different strokes for
different folks.
Carrie (08:06):
Yeah.
You're my kind of stroke,
Kristine (08:09):
I'm winking.
I love that for us.
So yeah, that's how we came tobe.
Mm-hmm.
And then as high school andjunior high progressed, so
Carrie was in high school when Iwas in junior high.
We our friendship kind ofmm-hmm.
Just blossomed even more.
Carrie (08:26):
It really, it really
did.
And we used to spend a lot oftime together.
Yeah.
And then
Kristine (08:30):
so much time.
Carrie (08:31):
Yeah.
And then you and I kind of havea habit of dating people and
friend groups, so
Kristine (08:35):
we do,
Carrie (08:36):
yeah.
Yeah.
Kristine (08:37):
We, we dated an entire
friend group.
There was what, four or fiveguys?
Carrie (08:42):
I don't know.
Yeah, probably.
Kristine (08:43):
And we went through
the whole thing.
It was just whole group?
Carrie (08:45):
No, that was you.
I dated one of them.
Kristine (08:47):
Yeah, I did.
Okay.
I think I didn't, yeah, I didn'tdate.
I use quotation marks orquotation, you know one of them?
Carrie (08:54):
Yeah, one of them.
And then the one that I wasdating,
Kristine (08:57):
so two
Carrie (08:57):
Oh, I oh two.
Okay.
I married one of them,
Kristine (09:00):
so three.
Because, okay.
Can we just, can we list themoff?
Can we use initials?
Carrie (09:07):
Sure.
Kristine (09:07):
A I did not date him.
Carrie (09:09):
No, no.
Kristine (09:09):
N did not date him.
Carrie (09:11):
No,
Kristine (09:12):
you are, we're gonna
say his name,
Carrie (09:13):
Nick,
Kristine (09:13):
later.
So Nick, I did not date him.
Mm-hmm.
It's like my brother.
That's gross.
Um, S, I did.
Carrie (09:21):
Yeah.
Kristine (09:22):
Literally.
Um,
Carrie (09:24):
j
Kristine (09:24):
J I did m and m I did.
Carrie (09:27):
You did.
Kristine (09:27):
I'm a little slutty,
so Yeah, we do, we tend to go
around the block here.
Carrie (09:33):
Yeah.
With the friend groups.
And now our husbands are bestfriends, so.
Yeah.
Apparently we're friend groups.
Kristine (09:38):
We're not friends
before.
Carrie (09:40):
No, no, no.
Not at all.
Kristine (09:42):
Didn't even know each
other.
Mm-hmm.
Until later on.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
So that's what, that's how thathappened.
Carrie (09:47):
Yeah.
Kristine (09:48):
What the heck were we
even talking about?
How did we get on the SJ and Aand
Carrie (09:51):
oh us being friends and
dating and like,
Kristine (09:53):
oh yeah.
Carrie (09:54):
And yeah.
Yeah.
So that's kind of how we stayedfriends when we were in
university.
When I was in university, cuzthat's how I met.
Yep.
Number one.
Um,
Kristine (10:04):
I love that for us.
Yeah.
Carrie (10:06):
Yeah.
And then,
Kristine (10:07):
and then it just
continued on
Carrie (10:08):
and then we became
really close.
Yes.
When you left me.
Kristine (10:12):
Yes, I did.
I, went to Bonnyville for fiveyears.
Um, my, that's where, so myhusband and I met, oh man, I
just am a Steeler.
Mm-hmm.
So I.
Started dating my husband, whowas actually dating an old
friend of mine.
Mm-hmm.
Back in junior high.
And then they broke up and thenI just swooped in.
(10:34):
I do that apparently, so like, Idon't know, watch out or
something, watch out.
Um, so I swooped in and thenwhen we started getting like
real serious, I moved toBonnyville for five years and
And then Carrie was very upset.
Carrie (10:46):
I was upset.
I still am.
Kristine (10:48):
She, she actually sent
me gifs
Carrie (10:51):
Mr.
Rogers
Kristine (10:51):
of Mr.
Rogers saying like, will you bemy neighbor?
And like every single day forfive every day, five years for
five years, begging me to comeback and literally not like,
just move back to the city likenearby she lives.
Like get your ass assure.
Park.
Carrie (11:04):
Yeah.
Be my neighbor.
Yeah.
No, I was.
I didn't, I didn't give up.
I was relentless.
Yeah.
Kristine (11:09):
You did a really good
job.
Carrie (11:10):
Thank you.
Because well you were, you didcome back.
I did.
Yeah.
And if you didn't come back, wewouldn't have Lll b
Kristine (11:15):
nor nor would we have
a podcast.
No.
It was really cool.
Podcast room.
Carrie (11:18):
Yeah.
But that's how we became suchgood friends.
It.
Yeah.
Or so we were always goodfriends, but we got really close
while you weren't living here,
Kristine (11:24):
which is really funny.
Carrie (11:25):
Yeah, that is funny how
that works.
But I just feel like maybe wetreasured our time together
more, or like the times we gotto, like we talked on the phone
all the time.
Kristine (11:32):
All the time,
Carrie (11:33):
instead of hanging out
and maybe it being less.
We would talk on the phone everytime I was driving somewhere.
Kristine (11:38):
We didn't have like
real conversation.
Yeah.
It was nothing like superficialfriendship.
It was like, no, she knew myfeelings.
Carrie (11:44):
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
There was lots of crying darkones.
Kristine (11:46):
Oh yeah.
We both crab babies.
Carrie (11:48):
Oh, so bad.
It was so bad.
Yeah.
So that was that's kind of howwe became really good friends.
And then she back shore parkbecause I had a baby and she
just couldn't beat without me.
Kristine (11:57):
Honestly, I, this is
actually one of my, the.
I hated the fact that I lived inBonnyville and you had Brooke.
Carrie (12:07):
Yeah.
Kristine (12:09):
I hated that.
Carrie (12:09):
Yeah,
Kristine (12:10):
because the, when she
was in labor, I had to go back.
Mm-hmm.
I had to go.
Carrie (12:15):
You left.
Kristine (12:15):
Jayce had to go to
work.
And I had no way of getting toback to home.
I had no, I had no way.
Carrie (12:24):
It's because I was in
labor for 8,000 years.
Kristine (12:26):
Yes, I did.
I stayed as long as I humanlypossibly could.
Mm-hmm.
But I didn't get the phone call.
What time was Brooke born?
Carrie (12:33):
Like, like 11 something?
Kristine (12:35):
Yeah.
Carrie (12:36):
At night.
Like really late.
Kristine (12:37):
And I didn't, and when
I got the phone call I was like,
I was just, There.
Mm-hmm.
Like I like it still breaks myheart.
Carrie (12:44):
Yeah, it sucked.
Kristine (12:45):
And Oh, I hated that.
I'm get a tear up change topic.
I just hated that.
Yeah.
Cause I wasn't here.
Yeah.
And I was supposed to be here.
Yeah.
Carrie (12:52):
And then, you know, she
was this baby and you'd only get
to see her every,
Kristine (12:56):
I know.
Carrie (12:56):
Time you guys to come to
visit.
So I'd like to thank Brooke forbringing you back.
Kristine (13:01):
Honestly, I think we
moved back when she was.
Seven, eight months.
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (13:07):
Something around there.
Okay.
Because, I mean, we started ourbusiness when she was, she
wasn't quite a year.
Kristine (13:11):
No.
And she babys or she babysat me.
I babysat her.
Or like Jayce and I did.
You guys went on a holiday and Ithink she was around nine months
old when
Carrie (13:20):
we went to Vegas the
first time.
Yeah.
Um,
Kristine (13:22):
I think she was like
nine months.
Carrie (13:23):
No, cuz it was, it was
July.
It was 4th of July.
So she would've been a year anda half, like a year and a half
after that.
Kristine (13:28):
She was that old
already.
Carrie (13:29):
Mm-hmm.
Because we were gone for the 4thof July and I wouldn't, I was
still.
Wow.
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Unless I did leave her when shewas at home.
Kristine (13:39):
I thought it, I
thought she was nine months.
I thought she was a little bitearlier
Carrie (13:42):
maybe.
Kristine (13:43):
But yeah, regardless,
Carrie (13:45):
it's possible.
Kristine (13:46):
Bye mama.
Out.
Carrie (13:50):
Oh yeah.
Kristine (13:51):
Well, yeah, whatever.
Yeah.
And then we moved back and then,mm-hmm.
So we moved back into the sametown and then now we're
neighbors.
Carrie (14:00):
Yeah, I can, well, I
can't anymore, but I used to be
able to see Kristine's housefrom my front porch.
Kristine (14:06):
I, um, I hate that
there's houses there now.
Like I love that our communityis growing, but I hate that.
I can't spy on you.
Carrie (14:13):
I know I can't see your
house.
Kristine (14:14):
I liked knowing.
When,
Carrie (14:16):
when got pulled out of
the driveway.
Kristine (14:16):
Yes.
Yeah.
I liked seeing the car on thedriveway.
I liked seeing Nick mow lawn.
Carrie (14:21):
Yeah.
Kristine (14:22):
I, I am a creepy
Carrie (14:24):
Yeah.
Kristine (14:24):
Son of a bitch.
Carrie (14:25):
I'll give you to log in
for the cameras if you want.
Kristine (14:28):
I would really like
that.
Carrie (14:31):
Just log into the leemur
Kristine (14:32):
like you think I'm
joking, but like I need to, to
Carrie (14:33):
No, no, I know, I know.
I get it.
Um, yeah, we now live.
Two blocks away from each other,a block and a half away from
each other.
And the walk is, I think like
Kristine (14:45):
the timed, we timed
it, it was like two minutes and
like 48 seconds or something.
But like, we can get there wayquicker.
Mm-hmm.
Way quicker.
Carrie (14:52):
Way quicker.
Kristine (14:53):
Yeah.
I agree.
Honestly, like I just bolt there
Carrie (14:57):
and we do, especially in
the summer, we do spend all of
our time together.
Yeah.
I love summer.
I love how much time we spendtogether in the summer.
Kristine (15:04):
Our summer consists of
music.
Twisted tees, Vizzy's, pool, husbands and children.
Yep.
That's our summers.
Yeah.
And late nights and like, I knowI've mentioned music, but loud
music.
Carrie (15:20):
Oh yeah.
Loudest.
Kristine (15:22):
My favorite time of
the year.
Carrie (15:23):
Mm-hmm.
Kristine (15:23):
People ask all the
time, they're like, are you
like, where, when?
When's your next next trip?
And I'm like, well, not tillAugust, because I'm not missing
out on my summers here.
And they're like, what do youmean?
Mm-hmm.
I'm like, we have the mostbeautiful summers.
Yeah.
We have so much fun.
I'm not leaving.
Carrie (15:37):
When people ask me if I
have like any weekend plans in
the summer, I'm like, mm-hmm.
No.
No.
Weekends are the time.
Yeah.
Kristine (15:43):
I'm not giving that
up.
No.
I don't like to leave work earlyand hit the pool.
Carrie (15:48):
Yes.
Kristine (15:49):
That's what I'm about.
Carrie (15:50):
And Friday's off.
Kristine (15:51):
Amen.
Yeah.
preach girlfriend.
Carrie (15:53):
Yeah.
That started last summer andnever going back.
Kristine (15:56):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Summers are the best.
Carrie (15:59):
They really are.
They really are.
I do.
I love a good summer.
Kristine (16:03):
And do you know why?
That's funny cuz I mean, youweren't here this past weekend,
but I was telling Nick when hewas over for dinner, I was like,
I, as soon as it heats up, Istart craving our summer food.
Mm-hmm.
And like we have like specificmeals in the summer.
Carrie (16:15):
Yeah.
We do
Kristine (16:16):
like example, like
what we had for dinner.
Carrie (16:18):
The chicken buns.
Kristine (16:18):
Chicken.
Yeah.
Chicken on Kaiser's and likethat's all I wanted.
It.
It mm-hmm.
Got, it was 25, 26 degrees orwhatever it was the other day.
And like I woke up and I waslike, I want a chicken Kaiser.
Carrie (16:29):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Nachos on the barbecue.
Kristine (16:31):
Ah.
Yes.
And the beef sliders Yes.
That Nick makes.
Carrie (16:36):
Yes.
Smash burgers.
Kristine (16:37):
Oh, smash burgers.
Yes.
Yes.
Carrie (16:38):
They're so good.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
We have, we do, we have oursummer pasta salad.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
Nick made some on, was thatFriday night?
Kristine (16:47):
Oh, yummy.
Carrie (16:48):
Yeah.
And what a time.
I had some last night, someleftovers.
Yeah.
So good.
We love food.
Lives do revolve around food.
Kristine (16:55):
Yeah.
You guys are gonna hear a lotabout, um, what we're currently
hyper fixating on.
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (17:01):
Kristine especially.
Yeah.
She's a hyper fixator.
Kristine (17:04):
Yeah.
I can't eat the same thing overand over again.
It's hard.
So like for a long period oftime.
Mm-hmm.
So I'll stick with it for like aweek, week and a half, and then,
and then it dies.
Carrie (17:14):
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
So for me, I can eat the samething every single day without
fail and I do.
Um, And I never get sick of it.
Maybe, maybe I could take like aday or two off of it, but I
don't get so sick of it that itmakes me like, wanna die.
Yeah.
For you, not so much.
Kristine (17:31):
No.
And like that's a superpower Iwish I had.
Yeah.
Like you're my superhero.
Carrie (17:35):
Because when you hyper
fixate on a food, you want it
every day and then you have tostop or else you'll get sick of
it.
That you're literally sick.
Yeah.
Kristine (17:41):
Like right now is
avocado toast.
And I have to be really carefulmm-hmm.
Of how often I'm having it.
Like I had to take a few daysbreak, um, because I was
starting to get.
Legitimately giggy.
Mm-hmm.
And sick to my stomach and I waslike, I don't wanna ruin this
for myself.
I have to stop.
Carrie (17:56):
Yeah.
Like oatmeal, cold oatmeal orlike whatever.
overnight oats.
Kristine (18:00):
Yeah.
That was a bad, bad, bad, badtime.
Carrie (18:02):
Grill, cheese sandwiches
on the panini maker.
Kristine (18:04):
Nope.
That smell still makes me sickstill.
I'll walk into the kitchen andsomebody's using the panini
maker and I'm like, woo.
Gotta go.
Carrie (18:12):
Those were the two big
ones.
Those in the overnight oats
Kristine (18:14):
and the tacos.
Carrie (18:16):
Oh yeah.
Kristine (18:16):
The Costco tacos or
whatever.
Carrie (18:18):
It's Costco.
Fajitas.
Kristine (18:18):
Fajitas.
Yeah.
I can't even think about it.
Like it literally gives megoosebumps, but that's fine.
Carrie (18:26):
It's never happened to
me
Kristine (18:27):
and it doesn't happen
to most people like Jayce Eats
the same thing every day.
S Scarlet eats the same thingevery single day.
Mm-hmm.
I cannot do it.
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (18:36):
That's fair.
Kristine (18:38):
I try.
Carrie (18:39):
Yeah, I get it.
I get it.
But I don't, I can't relate
Kristine (18:43):
something's wrong with
me.
Carrie (18:44):
That's fair.
I mean, I'm just used to it.
Now, sometimes I have to say toKristine, I have to be like, um,
so I think you need to stopeating that because you're, be
careful.
Kristine (18:53):
Yeah.
But yeah, that's how we knoweach other.
That's like, that's what we weresupposed to be talking about.
Mm-hmm.
But we're now we're talkingabout hyper fixating of food and
how I get gagging.
Carrie (19:05):
Because I know, I just
know you're gonna get there.
Yeah.
It's, and I don't want you to besad.
No.
Especially avocado toast.
Kristine (19:11):
Oh my God.
It's my favorite.
Ugh.
So delicious.
Carrie (19:13):
Like kb
Kristine (19:15):
Ugh.
Go for that.
Mm-hmm.
Love it.
So yeah, so that's how we knoweach other.
And then so yeah, we'reneighbors and we also own a
business together.
And we have for eight years.
And now we're doing the podcast.
So what's our next, that's ournext, it's our
Carrie (19:29):
thing right now.
Kristine (19:30):
Adventure.
Carrie (19:31):
It is.
Kristine (19:32):
We're being
adventurous.
Carrie (19:33):
We are being
adventurous, and I'm so happy
for us.
Kristine (19:35):
What's your K?
So what's your favorite thingabout the podcast room?
Because it's so new anddifferent.
Carrie (19:41):
Um, it's a toss up
between the chairs.
They're bright, fuchsia and theneon.
Kristine (19:47):
Yeah.
I really like the neon.
Carrie (19:48):
What about you?
Kristine (19:49):
I really like, I know
we've had this carpet or this
rug for a while, but it just,it's so inviting.
Mm-hmm.
And then I really like thepictures of us.
Ugh.
Because
Carrie (19:58):
we're so cute.
Kristine (19:58):
We're really, really
cute.
Yep.
Like super attractive.
And I love how like I look atyou very longingly.
You do in the pictures.
Carrie (20:06):
You do.
It's a lot of love.
Kristine (20:08):
So like Yeah.
Big crush.
Big crush.
Yeah.
So that's what we've got goingon.
Carrie (20:13):
Yeah.
That's Tell Tell me somethingelse about you.
Kristine (20:15):
About me?
Mm-hmm.
Um, okay.
So I guess I'm assuming we'regonna have some new listeners
here.
I don't.
I'm really boring.
I run a lot.
Carrie (20:24):
Same.
Kristine (20:25):
I really love
Monopoly.
I made my family play Monopolywith me yesterday cuz it was
Mother's Day.
I got away with it.
They abandoned me for a whilefrom playing Monopoly.
Um, something else about me, Idon't know.
I feel like I'm just your sameold, same old until it comes up.
You know what I mean?
Carrie (20:43):
Yeah, yeah.
Kristine (20:43):
Like I'm just.
I'm just that guy.
Yeah.
I'm just here.
Carrie (20:47):
You're just plain,
normal,
Kristine (20:49):
just plain.
Carrie (20:50):
You're not
Kristine (20:50):
I'm not at all until
it, no, until it comes up.
Like I always have that, Ialways have, have such a hard
time.
Mm-hmm.
Describing myself or liketalking about myself until it
arises.
Mm-hmm.
That's fair.
I can't just pick it out.
Carrie (21:03):
No, that's fair.
Kristine (21:04):
What about, what about
yourself?
Carrie (21:06):
Um, well, I'm a mom has
said already.
Um, I actually am a cpa.
Yeah.
That's my claim to fame.
Yeah.
That's good.
That's the only thing I have.
Yeah.
Um, so I am a designatedaccountant.
I have had my accountingdesignation for I think over 10
years now.
Kristine (21:21):
Congratulations.
Carrie (21:22):
I don't.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Um, I used to actually work inaccounting.
Doing.
I wish everyone, I wish everyonecould see my face.
And I just want everyone to knowthat I was an actual accountant
that worked with numbers.
I wasn't the,
Kristine (21:37):
she was totally a
stripper.
Carrie (21:38):
I wasn't the only fans
kind of accountant, you know?
Um,
Kristine (21:42):
I really wish you were
like, I think that would be such
like that.
Wouldn't that bring up such goodconversation?
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (21:48):
It really would.
Kristine (21:49):
And like it really
would.
I'm not just, I'm, I'm just notbrave enough.
Carrie (21:54):
No.
Kristine (21:55):
Like, I don't like
seeing myself, you know, like I
just think that's a little Notoo much.
Carrie (22:02):
No, I'm not into that
for myself,
Kristine (22:03):
but for those who do
amazing, and I wish I had that
confidence.
I just, I just can't.
See myself in those positionswithout me, like,
Carrie (22:17):
no.
And I just, I always envisionlike, like someone's friend
seeing it or like, oh my God,you know, like your dad.
Like, you know, like, I don't, Ijust can't imagine if, or your
dad's friend was like, I sawKristine.
I'm like, I don't want that.
Kristine (22:34):
I, I think I would
just key over Yeah.
And die.
Carrie (22:36):
So I just, I can't.
Kristine (22:38):
I can't imagine being
like my dad being like, so Don
called me today and Im like, ohyeah, how's Don?
He's like, well, not good.
Like, oh shit, dad.
I'm sorry.
Carrie (22:50):
Yeah.
So, no.
So I do the traditionalaccounting.
Yeah.
Um, I don't anymore, but I didand I did that for probably six
years and then I just didn'tanymore, cuz.
I just, I enjoy numbers and Ienjoy spreadsheets as you know.
Yeah.
But it just didn't bring me thejoy that it should have.
And honestly, my job made me somiserable, as Kristine knows,
(23:11):
cuz Yeah.
As we talk about me calling heron the phone.
On the way home from work that, that was one of my cry sessions
often,
Kristine (23:18):
almost every other
day.
Yeah.
She would be like, this place,it's awful.
Mm-hmm.
Or like, my job sucks.
I should be as Trevor,
Carrie (23:27):
I did.
I honestly, I just, I hatedeverything about, it wasn't even
the job itself.
It was the things that came withthe job.
Working with a lot of women, which is ironic since we own, we
own a business with a lot ofwomen.
Yeah.
Just like the drama.
The cattiness.
The pettiness.
It just, No, there was just, there was too much.
Yeah.
(23:48):
And it just, I had had enoughand then I left.
And
Kristine (23:52):
so much happier.
Carrie (23:52):
Oh yeah.
No.
Yeah.
Kristine (23:55):
No more crying.
Carrie (23:55):
I took two months off.
I didn't work for two months.
It was so nice.
Kristine (23:59):
Yeah, that's a nice
break.
Carrie (24:00):
I had a job to go to,
but I didn't, and no, for two
months.
Kristine (24:04):
Well, you can't do
that to yourself.
No.
And that's like one of the bestthings about.
Your, like yourself is justrecognizing mm-hmm.
That you need that time.
Mm-hmm.
Because it is a lot Yeah.
Of pressure.
Yeah.
And just, you can't knockyourself down that much.
No, I think I be strong.
Carrie (24:21):
You really do need to
recognize when you're close to
that breaking point and youreally mm-hmm.
Have to take that step back.
And I know it's easier said thandone, especially from a
financial standpoint.
It's not, not everyone can take, just quit their job and take two
months off.
Like I get that.
Yeah.
I was very blessed that I hadthat.
Option and that opportunity.
But I was at this point where Iwas crying all the time.
(24:41):
I couldn't sleep.
I was working crazy hours, asyou can imagine, doing
accounting.
And I just, it wasn't healthy.
Mm-hmm.
And I really, I was strugglingwith having a baby at the time,
and I didn't know if the stresswas part of my issue or not, but
News flash it was.
(25:02):
Yeah.
So, It just
Kristine (25:03):
takes a lot of courage
to do that.
Yeah.
So good job, Carrie.
Carrie (25:06):
Thank you.
Thank you.
Kristine (25:07):
Standing ovation.
And I'm not getting up, so
Carrie (25:09):
No,
Kristine (25:09):
I'll, no, I'll tell
you.
Standing ation,
Carrie (25:11):
you could pretend no one
would know.
No.
Kristine (25:15):
Good job, buddy.
Carrie (25:16):
If I knew what these
buttons down here, I know where,
where I would push one of them.
Kristine (25:19):
I pressed one earlier
by accident.
It sounded like fairy music.
Carrie (25:22):
Do you think one of them
could be applause?
Kristine (25:23):
Yeah, hit one.
It's closer to you than me.
Oh, oh.
Yeah, we told you to buckle up.
We weren't kidding if you madeit through this far already.
Carrie (25:39):
Yeah.
Let supposed the applausebutton.
I know which one it is now.
Kristine (25:42):
What number?
Carrie (25:43):
Um, it's the, the second
yellow one here.
Kristine (25:45):
I can't actually see
it.
Carrie (25:46):
Oh, okay.
Well it's that one.
Oh, that one.
Okay.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, so really excited aboutthat.
And you know what, as theepisode's gone, maybe we'll
figure out what all the buttonsare.
Kristine (25:55):
Yeah.
Okay.
Who knows?
Carrie (25:57):
We'll push one.
We'll push one in episode.
There's eight here, and takeeight episodes.
Kristine (26:00):
Perfect.
Yeah.
That's a time to be alive.
Carrie (26:02):
I think so.
Good.
I think so.
Oh.
Um, wow.
We talked about me for a reallylong time, or we went off on a
tangent.
That's the big thing about methough, is that's my claim to
fame.
I used to do accounting.
Kristine (26:13):
I don't have any big
things.
Mm.
Got a mole.
Carrie (26:18):
You moved to Bonnyville
for five years.
Kristine (26:19):
Yeah, it was terrible.
Carrie (26:20):
Yeah.
Kristine (26:20):
No, no, not terrible.
Like I hated being away fromyou.
I actually really enjoyBonnyville.
Um, really nice small town.
It's a little shitty here andthere, but Nice.
Like it wasn't a great people.
I made some amazing friends outthere mm-hmm.
That I miss.
Um, but it was fine.
Whatever.
I had a good house.
Carrie (26:38):
Yeah.
Kristine (26:39):
Love my house.
Carrie (26:39):
Yeah.
Kristine (26:40):
Great location.
Mm-hmm.
It's not a golf course.
It was really nice.
It was bougie.
It was.
It was a great bougie house.
Carrie (26:46):
Yeah.
Yeah.
I liked that house.
Kristine (26:47):
Yeah.
But whatever.
I've got nothing else.
Carrie (26:50):
Okay.
Kristine (26:50):
Got a mole.
I like crime.
So wait, Gary and I wereplanning on our podcast and we
were talking about like, or liketopics that we could be
discussing.
I just blurted out the wordcrime, like nothing like.
Oh, I like to watch True Crimeor Listen to True Crime podcast,
(27:10):
which is all true, but I justshouted the word crime.
And Carrie wrote down the wordcrime.
Yeah.
We literally have
Carrie (27:17):
this list of episodes
and it says Crime Midway.
It just says crime.
Kristine (27:20):
So at least we can
knock that off now because we
did talk about crime.
Carrie (27:22):
We did talk about it.
I'll, you know what, I'll checkit off tonight.
Kristine (27:24):
Perfect.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I got nothing else.
Oh.
Like I said, things will comeup.
Mm-hmm.
And they come up.
Mm-hmm.
Then we'll talk about it.
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (27:31):
And we talked about how
we met.
Kristine (27:33):
Yeah, I think we did
it.
I think we did the episode.
Carrie (27:35):
Okay.
Kristine (27:36):
That's wild.
I really didn't, I really didn'tknow how this was gonna go.
Carrie (27:41):
We kind of figured this
would be a little shorty.
Why don't we talk about what youcan expect.
Kristine (27:44):
Yeah.
Carrie (27:44):
As we come up, that's
great.
Kristine (27:46):
And then I have a
question.
Okay.
Okay.
But let's talk about that first.
Carrie (27:49):
Okay.
So do you wanna ask yourquestion before you forget it?
Kristine (27:52):
Yeah.
I'm not very bright sometimes.
I just wanted to know, because Isaid earlier, I'm leaning over
to get my drink.
Why don't we talk about whatwe're actually drinking?
We have our Starbucks orders infront of us.
And we do, we are actuallyrecording this on, I hope to God
we've pressed the record button.
Could you imagine
Carrie (28:09):
that's something we
would do?
Kristine (28:10):
Yes.
So we are recording it and Iknow we're gonna get questions
later, like, what are youdrinking?
So let's talk about ourStarbucks orders.
Carrie (28:17):
Okay.
So I drink the same thing everytime.
Yeah.
Oh, two things.
But um, This is my icedAmericano.
It's decaf, and I put a littlebit of half and half in it.
Um, I don't really like sweetdrinks.
I don't like sugar at all in mycoffee, so I can't drink the
fufu lala, like fancy ones.
Yeah.
Which sometimes I'm a littlejealous of that.
(28:37):
Um, and I also can't drinkcaffeine after noon because I
start getting really shaky.
So I go decaf.
Yeah, that's what I'm drinking.
Happy.
Kristine (28:45):
Okay.
Carrie (28:45):
I You're welcome.
For that drink,
Kristine (28:47):
I'm currently hyper
fixating on the white chocolate
macadamia cookie crumble.
Cold brew.
Cream cold brew.
Whatever it's called.
Um, Carrie ordered it for melast week.
Week before
Carrie (29:01):
last week.
Kristine (29:02):
And I.
Needed more in my life.
Mm-hmm.
And I think this is my third onesince, yeah.
Carrie (29:08):
Did you have one this
weekend?
Kristine (29:09):
I did, yeah.
Carrie (29:09):
After your run or
Kristine (29:11):
No, I got a, the
strawberry watcha latte thing.
That's really good.
I really like that.
After it's nice and lightfruity.
Carrie (29:18):
Kristine ran from our
house, which if you knew where
it was, you would be like, wow.
She ran all the way toStarbucks.
Normally you'd be like, oh,that's not crazy.
No, we live in the boonies.
And Kristine ran to the freakingStarbucks.
Kristine (29:28):
It's motivating,
knowing that I'm gonna get some
good out of it, you know?
Carrie (29:32):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starbucks at the end.
Kristine (29:34):
Yeah.
And when I see like life, cuz welive in the boonies, so when I
start going into town and I seelike the SA Avon, I'm like,
yeah.
Or the McDonald's first.
I see that and I'm like, holyshit, there's people,
civilization.
Um, and then I turn and I seethe SaveOn.
I'm like, okay, I'm gettingcloser.
I'm getting closer.
And then I see that Starbucksand like, yeah, oh, I just,
happy dance.
(29:54):
Yeah, it's so good.
But yeah, so it was a little,it's 13.67 or something
kilometers away.
Mm-hmm.
It's, it's a, it's a good run.
Yeah, it's good.
But anyway, so yeah, that's whatI did.
But this drink is so good.
I highly recommend it.
Carrie (30:08):
Yeah.
I mean, it smells good.
Kristine (30:10):
Yeah, it's delicious.
Carrie (30:10):
I wouldn't drink it, but
it smells good.
Kristine (30:12):
It's a fufu lala
drink.
Like, there's lots going on.
Carrie (30:14):
I can't, yeah, it's, I
just can't.
I wish I could, but I can't.
Yeah.
Kristine (30:18):
I just wanted to know
what you were drinking
Carrie (30:19):
and I like that
Kristine (30:20):
even though I ordered
it.
Carrie (30:22):
It's Avanti Americano.
Um, I, I actually prefer hotcoffee to cold coffee all the
time.
Mm-hmm.
Except for today because, um,little fun fact for you.
This podcast room is about 8,000degrees.
Cuz we're having some issue withthe air conditioning actually
coming on in here.
Kristine (30:37):
Like, I'm dripping.
Carrie (30:38):
Oh yeah.
It's hot.
Yeah, I'm wearing a sweater.
It's for show.
So
Kristine (30:43):
soaking up the sweat.
Carrie (30:44):
So what, what can people
expect?
Kristine (30:45):
Okay.
Yeah.
We're gonna talk about so manydifferent things.
Carrie (30:48):
Yeah.
Kristine (30:49):
We're gonna always
talk about what we're currently
reading or watching on the oldtv.
We're gonna be talking about ourdaily life.
Mm-hmm.
What's it like to be bestfriends who own a business?
What's it like just to be bestfriends?
What's it like to be bestfriends with somebody that
you've known for your entirelife?
Mm-hmm.
Oh God.
What else are we gonna talkabout?
(31:10):
Food,
Carrie (31:10):
crime.
Food.
Yeah.
Yeah, absolutely.
Food.
Kristine (31:16):
We're gonna, um,
Carrie (31:18):
We're gonna have some
guests.
Yeah.
We're gonna some surpriseguests.
We're not gonna, we're not gonnaspill all the beans.
No.
Like, you need to tune in toknow who our guests are gonna
be.
Yeah.
Kristine (31:25):
We're going to we're
gonna talk a lot.
Like a lot.
And the things that come up withKristine and Carrie mm-hmm.
Are.
Mm-hmm.
Very nutty.
Carrie (31:35):
Yeah.
Kristine (31:35):
And I fall in
apologize in advance.
Carrie (31:38):
And we're not lying when
we say unfiltered.
Like this is gonna be just uswho we are.
And I think that's the coolthing.
Um, we always talk about howwhen we have our lives that we
do for L l B or um, have we everonce talked about our
businesses?
Kristine (31:52):
I was gonna say.
So we are going to talk aboutthat probably in the next
episode.
Carrie (31:56):
Next episode.
Yeah.
Kristine (31:58):
Um, So you guys will
figure out what LL B is and what
the heck we actually do.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Which you guys don't know.
I mean if you do know, great.
If you don't know.
Yeah.
Carrie (32:05):
I mean you probably do,
but if you don't that's amazing.
So when we do our lives andstuff, I just feel not that
we're hiding who we really are, because that's also who we are.
Mm-hmm.
We just have to hone it in alittle bit, you know, cuz it, it
is our business and we, I don'tknow, I just feel like we're not
filtered, but we're just like alittle bit.
(32:26):
Toned down.
Kristine (32:26):
We're toned down,
that's for sure.
We're tone down
Carrie (32:28):
and we can't talk about
all this stuff on a live, they'd
be be so long.
Kristine (32:33):

You did.
Um, people are watching.
I know a lot of people mightthink, wow, Victoria Beckham,
why don't you off her?
She's really snooty, but Iactually think she's quite
funny.
I follow her on TikTok and she'sbeen with David Beckham, so
like, I mean, we've got those, you know, seven separation here.

And you know what?
I feel like that's great.
Kristine (38:03):
I think that's a
really good answer.
Carrie (38:04):
Yeah.
Thank you.
Kristine (38:05):
Yeah, lock that in.
Carrie (38:06):
I like how I said she
had a lot of hair and she's just

Carrie (38:12):
Yeah.
She's just, she's just a lotpersonality wise for me.
Kristine (38:15):
She would sing the,
she would sing you to sleep
though.
Carrie (38:18):
Yeah.
I If you would've picked SportySpice though, we would've had a
different
Kristine (38:21):
yeah.
I honestly, I had a really hardtime picking Yeah.
Baby spice.
I was like, I just, I, I justfeel like she's too precious.
She should stay outta thisconversation.
Carrie (38:28):
Yeah.
She, I would've killed her forsure.
Yeah.
She seems like someone who wouldbe whiny.
Kristine (38:32):
Yeah.
You know what?
She probably, she does look likea whiny bitch.
Carrie (38:34):
Yeah.
I don't have that in me.
Kristine (38:37):
Yeah.
No.
Okay.
Carrie (38:38):
No.
Okay.
I'm good now.
Locked in.
Perfect.
Locked and loaded.
Kristine (38:41):
So that is how we're
gonna end our episodes every
week.
You can anticipate a bunch ofcrap.
Carrie (38:48):
And Kristine Kristine's
going back to the drawing board
for her next round.
Kristine (38:51):
Oh my God.
They suck.
Like, okay.
I need to, because I don'tactually have it finished, so I
have one.
I have one.
Hold on.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Okay.
And then I started one, thesixth one was gonna be like, um,
A retro version.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
So I had like, I had one outta, three names picked, and the
(39:13):
first name was Mr.
Dress up.
And then I couldn't think ofanything more like other retro,
so I stopped and said, I giveup.
Carrie (39:28):
I'm surprised you didn't
pick Mr.
Rogers.
Kristine (39:30):
See?
Yeah.
That would've been, I was just,I was drawing a blank.
I didn't have my phone, I had mycomputer.
Not bright enough to like figureout
Carrie (39:36):
like snuff up, I guess.
Kristine (39:37):
Snuffle off I guess,
but yeah.
Yeah.
So, okay.
Well would you fuck, marry orkill Mr.
Dress up?
You don't have any other optionscause you got nothing.
Carrie (39:46):
He's, he's actually
already dead.
Kristine (39:49):
Poor guy.
Carrie (39:49):
Yeah.
So,
Kristine (39:51):
but Okay, he was still
kicking,
Carrie (39:52):
I don't know.
That's weird.
I used to watch him when I was akid.
Kristine (39:57):
Retro version baby.
Carrie (39:59):
I think I'd kill him.
Kristine (40:00):
Yeah.
That's cool.
It's the sweaters, it's theanimals on the hand.
Carrie (40:03):
Yeah.
Kristine (40:03):
There's a lot for me.
Carrie (40:04):
There's a lot like him
and, but if you put Mr.
Rogers in there, who do I pick?
Because they both wear sweaters.
You know?
Mr.
Dress up, wear his sweater vest.
Kristine (40:11):
I don't think he had a
sweater ever.
I thought it was like a buttonup.
We're gonna have to do someserious Googling.
Mm-hmm.
He's probably really freaky orhe probably was really freaky.
Carrie (40:21):
Oh my God.
I hope not.
That's just her dress up.
I'm looking him up for anyonewho's wondering.
I have my phone out.
I'm looking up Mr.
Dress up.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
Okay.
He Oh yeah.
A button up with a bow tie.
Kristine (40:38):
Oh.
Oh wow.
I see.
That's not the Mr.
Dress up.
I remember like I know it's thinguy.
But that's like really old.
That's way before my time.
Carrie (40:50):
But see, there are ones
where he did wear cardigans.
Kristine (40:53):
Oh yeah.
Carrie (40:54):
So I think it just it,
he wore lots of different
outfits,
Kristine (40:57):
that was such a good
show.
Carrie (40:58):
Like, kind of like lamb
chops play along.
Kristine (41:00):
That was such a good
one too.
So, yeah, that's the kind ofcrap you can expect.
Carrie (41:03):
Yeah.
Wow.
Kristine (41:05):
This is probably a
good episode or a bad episode.
I don't know.
