Yeah.
Welcome to Two Babes Podcast.
Where crazy things happen.
We don't, we don't know whatwe're doing half the time.
No, and that's okay.
It is okay.
I feel like that's
Carrie (00:35):
relatable.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's on brand.
Kristine (00:39):
It's on brand,
honestly.
Like I think it's a successfulday when I put pants on.
Yeah.
You know?
Yeah.
Like that's, I don't have
Carrie (00:47):
pants on today.
No,
Kristine (00:48):
you don't.
Um, but you have shoes on andclothing.
Yeah.
Well
Carrie (00:53):
we have like your bum
bum's not out.
We have store wait jobinterviews today, so I like I
put on
Kristine (00:57):
fucking leggings.
I'll, I'll find a blazer.
I put on a blazer the other dayand it stunk like it was just
like your office, office blazergross.
Yeah, it's stinky.
Like don't come too close.
Yeah.
Whatever.
Yeah.
Anyway.
How the hell was your weekend,Carrie?
Oh, it was so
Carrie (01:13):
good.
I went to Mc Valley Jamboree.
Woo.
Yeah, yeehaw.
I like how I said jamboree atthe end, like as if people
didn't know what I was talkingabout.
Um, if you're not local toAlberta or maybe you just don't
know things, um, I was gonna saylive under a rock, but I didn't
wanna be an asshole and then Isaid it anyways.
(01:33):
Um, big Valley is a countrymusic festival.
It is the entire August longweekend and, My, my future
husband was there, so I had togo.
Um, originally I didn't plan ongoing.
I'm not a huge, you've probablyheard me say this, I had so many
Instagram messages about it.
I am not a huge music festivalfan.
I don't, I'm, it's just not myjam.
(01:55):
I used to do Big Valley when Iwas younger.
It's i's just not my thinganymore.
Um, but I wanted to see himagain so bad.
And then I told Nick lastweekend, like the weekend prior,
I'm like, I wanna go see him sobad.
Yeah.
And I'm like, I wanna go to BigValley.
And friends of ours had extratickets and they asked Nick if
he wanted.
(02:16):
If he wanted them.
'cause they knew that I wantedto go and they wanted me to
come.
And, uh, he said yes and hearranged the whole thing.
And then we went, it was sogood.
It was so good.
I'm so happy.
So we saw Bailey Zimmerman, chase Rice, and um, Morgan
Wallen while we were there.
Um, we just spent the whole daySaturday there and then stayed
(02:37):
the night and went home Sundaymorning.
And by home, I mean we went backto S Lake.
Yeah.
So my parents have a place thereand um, that's where they were
for the weekends.
We dropped Brooke off there withthem for Saturday, which like,
it's not like it was on the way.
Yeah.
Like at all.
But we dropped her off there andthen we headed to Big Valley and
(02:57):
then we went back there onSunday and we just decided to
stay the rest of the weekend, which is so nice.
Kristine (03:01):
Yeah.
So why come home when you don'thave to?
Right.
In my
Carrie (03:04):
professional day and,
um, For anyone who doesn't know,
which is probably most of you.
Christina and I like Syl.
We grew up in Sylvan.
It is, it is our childhood.
Kristine (03:12):
It's like my happy
place.
Yeah.
If it's not, I haven't beenthere in years.
Um, but if it's not Disneylandor Vegas or Maui, it's Sylvan
for me.
Yeah.
Like that place just holds myheart.
Carrie (03:25):
Yeah, me too.
And'cause my parents have had aplace there for probably since I
was like eight or nine.
They got it.
And so for summers, my mom wouldbring me and my friends out
Yeah.
For the summer.
And we'd go for like a week ortwo at a time.
Yeah.
My dad would come out on theweekends'cause he'd work during
the week and we just.
(03:46):
Get into all kinds of trouble.
So much trouble.
Kristine (03:47):
Like we would go,
there was a skate park.
I don't even know the skatepark's still around.
No, it's gone.
That's too bad.
Mm-hmm.
Because that's like, that's whatshaped me.
Yeah.
Uh, wait, the skate park wasamazing.
The Dollar Store?
Yes.
Carrie (04:00):
Was like, which is also
gone.
We spent all of our money thereand we would just walk around.
Yeah.
And it was such a janky assdollar store.
Yeah.
Like it was the shittiest.
If anyone's been to Sylvan andyou remember the Dollar store on
the corner?
It was the shittiest store.
Yeah.
Like it, like the back of it.
Do you remember the back?
It's just like all this randomcrap.
Kristine (04:18):
Yeah.
But don't worry, we bought it.
Oh yeah, we
Carrie (04:20):
bought that crap.
Oh, I loved how crappy it was.
But when you think back on howcrappy it was, you're like,
whoa.
Yeah, we shopped there.
Yeah, we did.
But I love it.
Yeah.
And uh, Yeah, we used to go tothe the Moo.
Yes.
Kristine (04:33):
For ice cream.
Go get some ice cream when Icould.
Maybe I probably couldn't eventolerate it then.
No either.
I was probably
Carrie (04:39):
pretty sick too.
But yeah, we used to go to themovie store, get movies and
Kristine (04:43):
you know what, one was
one of my favorite places of all
time Where the library?
Yes.
And the library.
Cafe.
Yes.
We would go, bagels, go for our,the best bagels.
Yeah.
We would go for hours'causethere
Carrie (04:55):
was computers.
Yeah.
And
Kristine (04:56):
we go have one and we
would go to M S N and chat and
yeah.
And uh, who the fuck knows whatwe did on the internet back
then?
Carrie (05:03):
I don't know.
We were just like, we were justspend so much time there.
So
Kristine (05:06):
much time.
Go.
We read a lot of books.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
And uh,
Carrie (05:11):
I had the blue library
bag.
Yeah.
I think I still have it.
Kristine (05:13):
Think my mom gave to
me last more was at the last
time I was at the cabin orcabin, the condo.
It was
Carrie (05:17):
there.
Yeah.
I think my mom gave it to me.
Okay.
I think it's at my house.
It's such a good one.
It was navy blue with yellow.
Yes.
Riding on it or like goldishriding on it.
Yeah.
Kristine (05:25):
It was so much fun.
Something Lake Library.
And we would go to the cafe andwe'd sit there in the bowling
alley.
Yeah, bowling alley was fun too.
We did go
Carrie (05:34):
bowling a lot.
Yeah.
I forgot about the bowlingalley.
It's still there.
I think so.
And then we'd go Dairy Queensometimes.
Kristine (05:39):
Yeah.
And what's that pizza joint?
Right across from the, yeah, Ican't remember what, what it's
called obo.
Was it Obos or something?
O obs.
Ob.
Carrie (05:48):
Obs.
Obs.
O obs Pizza We, Ugh.
'cause I spent a lot of time inSylvan Lake.
Yeah.
Even in my young adult days.
I actually lived in Sylvan Lakefor an entire summer.
My boyfriend and I moved outthere.
Um, Stayed in one of my parents'places and we would, all of our
friends would come out on theweekend.
(06:08):
And I cannot tell you how manytimes I went Toby's like, yeah,
like drunk lately.
Oh yeah.
Kristine (06:12):
Eating.
Yeah, that's what I remember.
Yeah.
Is when we were older and wewould go walk there.
Yeah.
I ran there once to go get
Carrie (06:21):
pizza.
Yeah.
'cause they weren't, they didn'tcome and it was so long or
something.
Yeah.
And so I like ran you dreamted.
Kristine (06:27):
Yeah.
In flip flops probably.
Yeah.
So stupid.
So dumb.
But whatever.
That's fine.
Yeah.
Carrie (06:32):
That was fun.
Well maybe that's where I'll gofor my walk this weekend.
Just going that way.
I didn't wanna go, I didn'twanna go down like short drive
'cause it was a long weekend andit was so busy.
So I just kind of imagine walkedpast our old hoods, say hi to it
for me.
I'll, yeah.
So we're super excited.
We're going back again thisweekend.
Kristine (06:49):
Do you remember the
Chinchilla Man?
I do.
Carrie (06:51):
I thought about him this
weekend because I walked by
there obviously.
And like they tore down or theymade everyone move there.
Um.
Like mobile homes off there.
Yeah.
And'cause they were gonnadevelop it and they never
developed it, so it's stillempty.
Oh, that's interesting.
And like all those people livedthere.
Yeah.
So
Kristine (07:10):
it was such a nice, it
was nice in there too.
Yeah.
Like it wasn't uh, yeah, no, itwas really nice.
It was such a nice neighborhood.
Yeah.
And then they just took it down
Carrie (07:16):
for nothing.
Yeah.
They were gonna build condos andthen they just didn't and now
it's still sitting there forsale.
That's
Kristine (07:21):
crazy.
Yeah.
That's too bad.
Yeah.
So the Chinchilla man, um, is a,a man who lived there and he had
how many chinchillas?
I don't know.
And
Carrie (07:31):
they were always for
sale.
Yeah.
And he, and he'd walk aroundwith them on his shoulder all
Kristine (07:34):
over him.
And he was, I he was very niceguy.
We'd say hello.
Yeah.
And he would say hi.
And then he'd have chinchillasand it was so weird.
Like, I don't remember.
Yeah.
I think he was, he was a niceguy.
From what I can remember, Iguess.
I don't really remember that.
Well, I don't, don't we talk tohim?
I think it was like a hello waveand we'd wave'cause we think
(07:56):
it's funny'cause he had chinchills all over him.
Yeah.
But yeah, he was nice.
Like he was nice enough to sayhello.
Carrie (08:02):
Yeah.
Yeah.
And then, uh, that was, so thatwas my whole weekend, honestly.
That's nice.
I didn't do much'cause Friday Ihad to really just like get
ready to go.
Yeah.
Um, yeah.
Kristine (08:12):
Nice.
That's about it.
That's good.
Very nice
Carrie (08:14):
weekend.
It was good.
I didn't do any reading oranything of the sort.
I took my book with me to B B J.
Well I took it with me for likethe weekend'cause I thought
maybe I'd read it in the car orsomething.
Right.
Yeah, no, didn't do any of that.
I just, no though I'm notreading anything right now.
I'm not really watching it.
I don't even know what I do withmy free time, to be honest with
you.
'cause I'm not watching anythingor reading anything.
(08:35):
Yeah.
So like, I don't know if I justlike lay there, you lump up or
what, but it's my favoritereference.
Haven't I haven't been doinganything lately.
It's, that's
Kristine (08:46):
okay because it is.
Fucking crazy around
Carrie (08:48):
here.
It is crazy around here.
So to
Kristine (08:50):
have just the verity
lifestyle is totally
Carrie (08:55):
okay right now.
Yeah.
And well, I haven't been doingmy walks in the morning.
I've been doing them after work.
So by the time that's done, likeyou're done.
It's fricking bedtime.
Yes, dude.
Yes.
It's, I feel like I have no timeat home.
I don't know this, this lastthree weeks has just been chaos.
Kristine (09:09):
It's, everything has
been upside down and I mean,
literally upside down.
Yeah.
'cause same thing for me.
I haven't been running in themorning.
It's been more of the eveningsand I don't love it.
I hate it.
Carrie (09:18):
No.
And it's not that I don't likethe act of doing it at night.
I do.
But it eats up my entireevening.
Yeah.
And then, It's over
Kristine (09:26):
exactly where in the
morning, as soon as it's done,
it's done.
And you have your whole dayahead of you.
Yes.
And you have option to dosomething else in the evening.
Mm-hmm.
Now like I go for a run and itusually takes about an hour,
hour and a half and my wholeevening is just shot.
Yeah.
And then you don't have to dive,do your reading.
You don't have time to watchyour tv.
(09:47):
You
Carrie (09:48):
No, you're done.
Even when I do go for my walks,like I don't, I haven't been
listening to my audio books'cause my brain just like is not
there enough.
It needs a break.
And you know, we talked aboutthis in episode three and I
think it's really important tonote, we talked about how
Christina and I love getting upat five 30 and how important it
was to us.
Sometimes it just doesn't work.
Yep.
And you need to accept it.
Yep.
And right now where I'm at inlife and at work, I just don't
(10:12):
have that extra oomph to get upat five 30.
Yeah.
It's just, I think I would burnmyself out.
Absolutely.
And there is that likeacknowledgement that you can't.
Always make that work.
Yeah.
Because I, I can't, it's work iscrazy.
Work is nuts Right now.
We're, we just have had a lot ofchanges over the last month and
(10:33):
they keep on coming and it'sjust been a lot.
Mm-hmm.
And that is, you know, I, wetalked about like how different
seasons of your life, there'sdifferent priorities.
Right now work is just, it'svery consuming.
Yes.
And so something else has gottagive and it's sleep.
Yes.
Kristine (10:53):
I agree.
It's, it's a such as life sortof thing right now we just have
to make do with what we have andthings have had to, to budge
basically.
Yeah.
And unfortunately that's ourwaking up at early.
And I also like, I also feel itmm-hmm.
As well.
Like, I don't have it in me towake up at mm-hmm.
Five o'clock in the morning'cause I'm just fucking tired.
(11:14):
Yeah, me too.
I'm mentally exhausted.
I'm physically exhausted andlike, Yes.
I still, we both still have likeour goals and we're still
achieving them.
Yeah.
However, it's just taking alittle bit more of a backseat
because we have to make sure weare doing that balance.
Mm-hmm.
And right now our focus is onwork and mm-hmm.
No
Carrie (11:33):
play.
And I just don't wanna burn out.
No.
Don't, you know, like, I don'twanna end up there
Kristine (11:37):
because then we won't
want to do these things.
Right.
Right now we're making it work.
Mm-hmm.
A little bit different.
Mm-hmm.
I'm still able to run.
You're still doing your walks, you're still working on, you're
still doing your thing.
Mm-hmm.
But you're not killing yourselfeither at it.
No.
And if we push it, especially inthe season that we are right
now, of our ridiculous worksituation we have going on, it's
(11:58):
just no, we're gonna be done andwe're, and then those things are
gonna be off the tablecompletely.
Carrie (12:03):
Yeah.
I don't wanna just hate them.
Kristine (12:06):
No, I don't wanna hate
them either.
I still wanna love.
Carrie (12:08):
What I do, and I don't
wanna give myself like a panic
attack.
Oh, fuck those.
I, yeah.
You know,'cause I woke up thismorning and I'm like, I did not
feel right.
I texted you.
I was like, my anxiety is reallyhigh today.
And it's been so long since I'vewoken up with anxiety that I was
like, so I knew.
Mm-hmm.
Like, I just know, I know.
(12:29):
Know your limitations.
I'm sorry.
Ugh.
Kristine (12:32):
Just like they sick
fucking
Carrie (12:33):
suck.
Yeah.
And, and it is what it is.
Kristine (12:36):
Do you do anything,
um, extra special for yourself
when you wake up feeling likethat?
I,
Carrie (12:40):
I went and laid in the
bath for like an hour.
Oh, that's good.
Yeah.
That's good.
Like barity.
But I didn't let myself drown.
Yeah.
I was just, I just laid thereand I just like I, that's good.
I'm glad you had
Kristine (12:52):
an extra moment
Carrie (12:53):
for yourself.
I had gone and I was justsitting there and I did nothing
and Nick was leaving to go meetwith you guys at your house and
he's like, are you leaving forwork soon?
I'm like, do I look like I'mleaving for work soon?
Yeah.
Does that, does it look like it?
Yeah.
No, I just sat there and I justchilled and like, Relax.
Kristine (13:10):
That's good.
It took my time, my, myspecialty when I'm having a, a
moment mm-hmm.
Or three.
I like to go driving, um, andcry.
Yeah.
I usually cry when I drive.
Yeah.
And just go in places that Ihaven't seen before.
Yeah.
And that usually like, kind ofbrings me out of it.
Yeah.
Because I'm in a, a new area.
I get to see different thingsand it just kind of brings me
(13:32):
down.
Yeah.
That's fair.
It's a weird thing that I do.
That's fair.
And I usually like to do it atnight in the dark.
I like that.
Yeah.
It, but the dark changes thingsfor me.
Yeah.
It changes my perspective and Ijust, it helps.
Carrie (13:43):
Yeah.
See, crying doesn't help when Ihave anxiety.
Yeah.
Okay.
Like crying doesn't help me.
It gets me out for me.
Yeah.
That's fair out.
No crying doesn't help me.
Fair enough.
Do it.
Like, just like who sawingmyself.
Trying to like calm down.
Yeah.
Is usually, what's it?
'cause then I just work
Kristine (13:57):
myself up more.
Yeah.
Fair enough.
I usually have to get that out.
Yeah.
That's fair.
And then I'm okay.
Yeah.
That's fair.
What we should punch things.
Oh.
Love that.
We should get one of thosefucking dudes.
The fucking dudes.
Not just like, you know thosestanding things.
Yeah.
The fucking dudes.
Yeah.
We should get one.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
And the ones you punch or kick.
Yeah.
We should get them.
(14:17):
Yeah.
I'd love that.
We could name them.
We can give them names we don'tlike.
Yeah.
Like of people we hate.
Yeah.
You know, and we could just fuckthem up.
I'll get you boxing gloves, glitter ones.
Yeah.
Carrie (14:31):
Sorry.
I was just thinking about namingmine.
Kristine (14:34):
I feel like I could
potentially know who you're
referring to.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Unless you're naming it.
Me?
Carrie (14:40):
No.
Okay.
If I wanted to punch you, I'djust punch you.
Kristine (14:46):
Fair enough.
I was actually thinking, um, theother day, and by the other day,
I mean yesterday, uh, we shouldactually record us doing our arm
wrestle.
'cause I think that'd be reallyfunny.
It will be
Carrie (14:56):
get like, just let's do
like mid-September, uh,
mid-September.
Yeah.
Arm myself.
We'll do arm.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I need to get back to the gym.
Fair enough.
You know, like I still got myguns here.
Yeah, dude.
I, but like, I'm getting alittle floppy lately.
I know.
So I just, I know.
Pretty floppy.
Yeah.
I have weak
Kristine (15:13):
bones.
Yeah.
So like, you could just snap mein half.
There's no helping me.
Okay.
So my weekend, we, but yeah, Ididn't do much.
I worked a little bit Friday.
Um, I had, I think I did acouple running around things.
Um, s Scarlet had a couplegirlfriends over for a water
balloon fight.
That was fun.
They fucking pummeled me.
I didn't think I was gonna beinvolved and then I got
destroyed.
Uh, so that was love that, thatwas nice.
(15:35):
Um, and then, uh, I ran good asI do on the weekends.
Yeah.
And, uh, I don't, I honestlydon't think I did much.
I think I did more worky things.
Mm-hmm.
And, uh, that's
Carrie (15:50):
about it.
Honestly.
That's nice.
For a long weekend it
Kristine (15:52):
really was nice.
Like I enjoyed just a slow pace.
I had my mom over for brunch,um, and uh, that was nice.
Yeah, that is nice.
Took her for a walk.
Showed her the new house, notlike, showed her the outside of
the house.
'cause it's a construction zoneobviously.
Come on.
I followed the rules and then,uh, yeah.
(16:13):
So showed her the house.
She thought it was pretty cool.
That's about it.
I didn't do nothing.
It was nice.
It was good.
Yeah.
I didn't even really need totell you guys about it
Carrie (16:20):
cause it was just,
honestly, honestly, when we
stayed at the lake, which I wasso thankful we stayed the night
because my aunt and uncle wereactually out there and yeah.
That's nice.
Brooke has not seen my uncle inthree years.
What?
Yeah.
Wild hay.
Three years, three years.
Since Brooks saw my uncle last.
No.
Yeah.
Kristine (16:36):
Two.
Wasn't he at Christmas lastyear?
Carrie (16:38):
Two years.
Two years?
Wow.
It's been a long time.
Well, I'm so glad
Kristine (16:42):
that she was able to
see them then.
Yeah.
Good, good.
Okay.
Yeah,
Carrie (16:45):
so it was good.
Um,
Kristine (16:49):
blew me away either.
Yeah.
I just be, I feel like I've seenhim recently now, like
Carrie (16:54):
I haven't seen him in a
long time, but I guess,
Kristine (16:56):
I guess it's been
Carrie (16:57):
probably, I've seen my
aunt a lot.
Yeah.
But, uh, yeah, so we got to hangout with them and visit.
That's nice.
And then, um, my aunt's probablylistening'cause she loves the
podcast.
She thinks it's freaking funny.
Sup She was, she was like, shewas like 99.9% of the time.
I agree with your fuck MaryKill.
Oh yeah.
Good.
I'm, I'm so glad we're on thesame.
(17:17):
Her and I are in the same way oflength.
I get a lot
Kristine (17:19):
of, uh, are you, are
you serious?
Yeah.
You, you'd fuck him.
I'd be
Carrie (17:23):
like, yeah.
Yeah, I would.
Kristine (17:25):
Yeah.
Sometimes my choices arelimited.
Carrie (17:29):
I do do that sometimes.
Yes.
Kristine (17:31):
Did you even plan one
Carrie (17:32):
outboard today?
No.
Yeah.
I'm gonna have to wing it as wego.
Yeah.
Um, our life has been crazy.
Okay.
So yeah, that's a little nutty.
That's pretty much what's beenhappening also.
Um, did you see the news aboutMaui?
Yes.
Isn't it devastating?
Um, I,
Kristine (17:47):
we were slightly
discussing it this morning at
our meeting um, at a housemeeting, whatever.
And, uh, we were discussing itand I actually was so sick to my
stomach so bad that I to take a,
Carrie (17:57):
I had to take a pause.
Oh no.
I was just, it's
Kristine (18:00):
sad.
We just, we know I'm gonna cry.
It was like, we know so manypeople out there mm-hmm.
Um, that we've become friendswith.
It's like our h it's our home.
Mm-hmm.
Out there and like, we can't do
Carrie (18:11):
anything.
Yeah.
It's awful.
It's just very sad.
It's really sad.
Uh, so I
Kristine (18:15):
texted Ruby this
morning and checked in.
She hasn't wrote me back.
Carrie (18:19):
Um, yeah, they're
probably scrambling.
Kristine (18:22):
They're scrambling.
Um, but it's just, and a coupleof my.
Like Maui mom groups and stuffthat I've been in or I'm in.
Um, just the comments and stuffis just devastating.
Mm-hmm.
So, yes, that's happening andit's, I'm so sad.
I'm like actually legitimatelycrying.
I see that it's just, yeah.
It's, it's a lot of emotions.
Carrie (18:41):
Yeah.
It's really sad.
Um, for anyone who doesn't knowor hasn't been following, um,
they have a lot of fires thereright now and they're dealing
with some like tropical stormsthat are making the winds just
obscene, so they're not able tokeep it up.
The fire is really, really closeto my parents' house.
Yeah.
Which is really sad.
Um, and there is like ahistorical town in Maui, it's
(19:04):
called Laina.
It's like gone.
Yeah.
Which is so sad.
So, Just, we're just keepingthem in our thoughts and prayers
because that is like, it is mysecond home.
I've been going there since Iwas a baby, since I was 18
months old, was my first tripthere and I pretty much grew up
there and I have so manymemories there.
(19:24):
So it's just really sad.
So very sad.
Yeah.
So we've been following that.
So keep, keep Maui in yourthoughts because I know there's
a lot of places that are on firehere too, but they're also
dealing with their own thingthere.
And it's an island, like youhave nowhere
Kristine (19:40):
to go.
You have nowhere to go.
That's what terrifies me isthere's nowhere no to go and
people are like flooding to theairports.
Um, uh, from what I heard last, they haven't shut air flights
down yet coming in, but thatmight have changed since I last
looked.
Yeah.
Um, so it's just.
(20:00):
It's just a lot of happening.
Yeah.
People are trying to get out,but then people are like, oh,
let's go on our holidays.
And like, it's just, it's crazy.
An insane concept to me.
Carrie (20:08):
Crazy.
I luckily, like August isn'ttheir highest peak season for
travel.
Yeah.
So I'm hoping people aren'tstupid enough to keep flying
there, but who knows?
And to
Kristine (20:21):
reconsider because
there's mm-hmm.
They, people have lost theirhomes.
Thousands
Carrie (20:25):
of, yeah.
They need places to stay.
It's like when we almost went toKelowna two or th three summers
ago now.
Two summers ago.
That's right.
Um, there was a lot of fires inthe area and we opted not to go
because we didn't wanna take twohotel rooms where people could
like evacuate to use.
Yes, exactly.
And it, so hopefully, yeah.
(20:47):
Hopefully that,
Kristine (20:48):
yeah.
Things start to calm down andmm-hmm.
The winds slow down.
Mm-hmm.
It
Carrie (20:55):
gets better out there.
I hope so.
Yeah.
Okay.
Well on that really excitingnote.
Really, you know.
Yeah.
Kristine (21:01):
Really.
So, um, we're now diving intoour, episode.
So our episode topic really, um,we've had tons of questions,
basically since the start of L lb or like since we're more
active on social media.
Yep.
Um, we've had questions aboutlike what skincare we use, um,
what works, what doesn't.
Yep.
(21:22):
Um, what sunscreen we use.
How do you do your eyebrows, what mascara you use.
Do you have falsies?
Uh, like,
Carrie (21:29):
yeah.
So many questions.
They just, people
Kristine (21:30):
want the details.
So we have individually havedone stories in the past on our
Instagram, but we still getthese questions.
We, so we're, so we do happy todo an episode on it just to kind
of go over what we use.
Yes.
And uh, And I'm sure we'll haveto do this again down the road.
'cause I,
Carrie (21:47):
things change and I was
just gonna say, if we don't have
enough time to move pastskincare to like cosmetics, yes.
We'll do another episode for youguys.
A hundred percent.
Because we've already beentalking for a really long time
and we have a lot on the gotoday.
Yeah.
Um, I first wanna start withsaying please note one, we're
not medical estheticians, we arenot professionals.
(22:09):
We're just talking about whatworks for us.
Um, I'll talk about what my skinis like because it's not a one
size fits all.
That's situation.
Christina and I have completelydifferent regimes.
Yep.
Because we have like polaropposite skin, complete
opposite, complete opposite.
Kristine (22:26):
What would happen if
our skins made a baby?
Do you think it'd be likenormal, perfect skin?
Normal?
That would be so cool.
Yeah.
Wow.
Meld them together, right?
Make a skin suit.
Yeah.
We've been talking about skinsuits.
A this so,
Carrie (22:40):
so funny.
And it's funny'cause Um, so Iwatched an episode of Charmed
last week where they made thissky out of a skin suit and then
they brought him to life.
I remember this episode.
Yeah, I remember that.
Sos funny that we have beentalking about skin suits lately.
Um, so I'll just say what kindof skin I have.
(23:01):
So I have, um, like, I'd callit, I wanna say my skin's fairly
normal, a little bit of likecombination.
So sometimes I do go throughoilier phases.
Sometimes I do go through dryphases, especially in the
winter.
But I'd say it's fairly normal.
Yeah.
Like I'm kind of just like, I'mjust like in the middle there.
Um, I do deal with quite a bitof dryness in the winter, like I
(23:24):
said, so I do have toaccommodate that.
And I do switch up my skincareroutine in the winter.
I use a lot of heavier products.
Um, but overall I don't dealwith a lot of, like oil.
I, I go for like, stuff thatmakes me glowy and bright,
whereas like the complete polaropposite of Christine, which
she'll, she'll talk about in asecond.
Yeah.
So that's my skin.
Um, yeah.
(23:45):
That's pretty
Kristine (23:46):
much it.
Yeah.
Do we, do you wanna do like yourwhole skin stuff and then, or do
you wanna like bounce back andforth, like I tell you?
Yeah.
Bounce back and forth.
Keep mix it up.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
So, uh, for myself, I have veryoily skin, acne prone skin.
I've, dealt with, cystic acnefor since, yeah, since.
(24:06):
Puberty basically.
I've gone through big badepisodes, um, where like they're
so bad that just washing my facemade me like cry.
so I've gone through a lot ofthings to try to help with my
skin.
Um, I did have to go to the a,Accutane route, um, through just
about two and a half times.
I didn't finish the last one,but two and a half times and it
(24:28):
finally stopped.
Um, so now I'm in a good place.
So, which brings me to this, my.
For our skincare conversation.
You guys will hear more aboutthat acne as I go.
so my, my skin is oily, um, so Ihave to, I basically go for more
of the mattifying mm-hmm.
Products.
Mm-hmm.
And looks, because I produce somuch oil, I have to really try
(24:50):
to tone it down so it doesn'tlook like, or, so my makeup
doesn't slide down my face.
Mm-hmm.
Because it has, and it does, especially in the summer, and
Carrie (25:00):
especially like right by
your nose, Hey.
Yes.
Like, that's your worst.
Yeah.
Like, like your cheeks almost.
Kristine (25:06):
in the summer, I've
been having a hard time wearing
my, my glasses.
I'm wearing them today, but Ihate where mm-hmm.
Like the oil builds upunderneath my glasses, so it
just makes everything slide.
Yeah.
And it looks ridiculous.
Yeah.
So I, I have to be reallyconscious of that.
And I've been leaning towards mycontacts more so lately.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So that's, um, that's my skin.
Skin I guess.
(25:27):
Um, I do get some dry spots inthe winter, but more so it's
just sweaty, oily.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
I'm also a very sweaty person, and that is something that I
also have to think about withmakeup.
Yeah.
Because my face literally sweatsRight.
Every day, all day.
Yeah.
So I have to be, I have to bevery conscious of that.
Mm-hmm.
As well.
Mm-hmm.
(25:48):
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Wild times.
It is.
So we were
Carrie (25:50):
like, yeah, we're
complete opposite polar
opposites.
Yeah.
Um, I will preface this bysaying,'cause I do get a lot of
compliments on my skin, which isso sweet.
And thank you guys.
Um, I spent my twenties treatingmy skin like shit.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
Don't
Kristine (26:03):
we all,
Carrie (26:05):
if I knew in my twenties
when I know now, things would've
been a lot different.
I didn't wash my, and which iscrazy because my mom Yeah.
Has such phenomenal skin andshe's always preached to me to
wash my face every night.
And I went through my twenties, like sleeping in my makeup.
Oh yeah.
Putting makeup over top of mymakeup.
Like I wouldn't even wash it offin the morning.
I would just put it back on top.
Yeah.
Yes.
(26:25):
Oh my God.
I know.
All the time.
All the time.
And like, we'd go to the barlike cake, our faces in makeup.
Yeah.
Dream Matt Moose, if youremember.
Yes.
And
Kristine (26:38):
man, that's on, on
like the.
Squishy, you know, to put themakeup on and like, oh, that was
so satisfying.
Carrie (26:44):
It was so satisfying.
Um, so you'd cake yourself withmakeup?
Yeah.
Sweat all night.
Yeah.
And then you'd sleep in it, andthen you'd wake up the next
morning and maybe you'd wash itoff?
Yeah, maybe.
So gross.
Kristine (26:55):
Like if you made it
home, right?
Like, who knows where you endedup.
Oh,
Carrie (26:58):
the worst.
And I can't, I just looking backon it, I'm like, oh my God, why
did I do that to my skin?
Luckily it has not affected metoo much.
And because in my thirties Idefinitely took control of my
skin.
Um, so I've tried a lot ofdifferent things.
I've tried a lot of differentproducts.
I've gone through a, like somany cycles.
(27:19):
Yeah, totally.
Of different things.
And what I've currently beendoing for the past, like six to
eight months, is it's kind of aschmo.
Yeah.
I don't, I don't just use onebrand.
Um, and I don't just use like, Idon't just use like medical
grade skincare and.
I, I use a whole, a whole mixthrough.
Yeah.
Mixer mix mixed through ifyou'll, yeah.
(27:41):
So I do actually follow theKorean skincare routine.
Yeah.
I fell in love with Koreanskincare like eight or nine
months ago.
Um, honestly, from just likeword of mouth and also TikTok,
I've seen a lot of people likeuse the products and I didn't
really know a ton about it untilI started researching it.
So Korean skincare follows likea seven step method and I
(28:05):
started using it.
And I swear to you, it has mademy skin like night and day
different.
Like I, when I stopped doing it,like if I have days off from it,
I like, you notice it instantly.
Wow.
And it took, it took probablylike three or four months to
actually like, get in.
Where I saw like the fullresults, but Wow, you guys, so
(28:27):
first I do an oil cleanse.
Yeah.
Which seems crazy that you washyour face with oil.
But yeah, it, so what an oilcleanse does is it breaks down
everything on your face, whetheryou have makeup on or not.
You should still be doing it'cause it'll break down all the
like dirt and oil.
So that takes it off instead ofpushing it into your skin.
Then second you do a foamingcleanse or like a water-based
(28:48):
cleanse.
I don't use a foaming cleanser'cause it dries my face out.
I use a, like a cream-based ifit cream, yeah, yeah.
Cleanser.
And then you use a toner.
I actually use more than onetoner.
I use a couple, um, to get allthe impurities off your face
that maybe your cleanser missed.
And then I do my serums.
Um, so then I still use thenormal like niacinamide, hy
(29:12):
hyaluronic acid, um, yeah.
And vitamin C in the morning.
And then I, um, Do at night.
I'll do my retinol, not vitaminC at night, and then I'll do
like my eye creams and then I'llput my lotion on.
So like, that's my seven steps.
(29:33):
Yeah, I, it does sound like alot, and I know a lot of people
are like, oh, I'm more of a lessis more skincare kind of gal.
And honestly I used to be too,but I find this routine has just
like, made my skin so much morelike mm-hmm.
Supple.
Yeah.
Like so much more youthful.
It is very supple, I feel like.
Thank you.
I, I don't wear makeup.
(29:54):
Right?
Like, I don't have makeup onright now.
Yeah.
That's so good.
Like, I just have blush on Yeah.
And eyelashes.
Kristine (29:58):
That's so nice.
Like, I, I love doing
Carrie (29:59):
that.
So, yeah.
And I mean, I'm, I'm 37 so Istill need to put concealer
under my eyes.
Gotta cover them sins, you know?
I do know there's no gettingaway from that.
Like no.
'cause eye cream isn't, The endall be all.
No, it
Kristine (30:12):
as much as we try
it's, but it's
Carrie (30:14):
not, it's, I'm gonna
give it like a, like a seven 75%
gimmick, 25% functional.
I agree with that.
Kristine (30:22):
Yeah.
But I still use it.
I agree.
I still use it every day.
I was gonna say it like a threeoutta 10 on the mm-hmm.
On the scale.
And that's exactly it.
Like it doesn't, no, itdefinitely helps, but it doesn't
take'em away.
No.
So there's other things yougotta
Carrie (30:35):
do.
Yeah.
So I use like a caffeine one.
Yeah.
Because it kind of like plumpsyou a little bit.
Yeah, same.
It gives you less like Yeah.
Sunken.
Sunken.
And then I use a retinol one atnight.
Yeah.
To try to, um, so if we wannatalk about specific products,
um, do you want me to dive intothat right now?
Dive in baby.
Okay.
So I use a, a schoz, if youwill.
(30:56):
Yeah.
Um, because that's just the wayI be.
Kristine (30:59):
Same here.
Mine's so schmoozey.
Carrie (31:01):
Yeah.
And I do love medical gradeproducts, but they're expensive.
I don't think they're a must.
But I do have some things that Ithink are, like, if you're gonna
spend money on medical gradestuff, there is some that you
should, um, so I'm going to tellyou my oil cleanser right now So
(31:23):
I use the colee makeup, removingoil cleanser, um, coly if you
will.
So it's the makeup removingcleansing oil.
That is what I use first to takemy makeup off.
Mm-hmm.
And then I use just the plainold cera V Yeah.
Hydrating cleanser second.
Yeah.
And then I use a.
(31:45):
Makeup eraser to take that off,get
Kristine (31:48):
that off face.
I'm like, following.
You are like, I am in it.
You're
Carrie (31:51):
intent In my makeup
routine, in my sleep routine,
Kristine (31:54):
my eyes are like, I'm
looking into her eyes.
I need, and it's funny, I'mlistening with
Carrie (31:58):
my eyes, like, it's just
funny because like we, I know
what products you use, but Idon't actually know what you do.
Yeah.
So then I use two toners on myface.
I use a, a new heart leaf toner.
I'll post all the links to allthis on our stories because I
know everyone's gonna have somany questions, so many
questions.
And I'll them in a highlight.
Yes.
And then I use the, I'm fromRice Toner, so those are both
Korean products.
(32:18):
So I use those on my face.
I toner.
I just like put them in my handsand I'll just pat them, pat them
in your face.
Don't rub them.
Pat them.
Pat, pat.
And another thing that I'm gonnasay, pat, don't neglect your
chest.
Right.
Don't forget about that.
Kristine (32:30):
Always go pull it all
down.
Pull it all the way down yourneck and through your chest.
Yes.
It's like one of my favoritethings.
You,
me
Carrie (32:35):
too.
And it feels really satisfying.
And then I'll give you anothertip.
Okay.
You already have all thatskincare on your hands.
Put it on the back of yourhands.
Yes.
Yeah.
Because the back of your handsalso age really fast.
And you already have thatskincare on there, so you might
as well just wipe it on there.
Yeah.
Just the excess.
Yeah.
Because like your, your hands, they show your age, you know?
They do.
Yeah.
And then I use an essence.
(32:55):
and then I put snail mucin on myface.
Kristine (32:57):
It's like my favorite
product.
She uses, she uses snailsecretions, but it's like very
popular.
Carrie (33:03):
It is.
Kay.
So I was really skeptical and I,I still haven't decided.
I went, th I've gone, I've gonethrough two bottles.
I still haven't decided like ahundred percent.
If I think it's like the end allbe all, but.
I'm gonna still keep using itbecause I do think it adds more
moisture in my face.
So it is called snail mucin andit is literally like they let
(33:24):
snails crawl all over a, allover, like, I don't know, a
surface and then they scrape itinto a bottle so fucking weird.
And they make a serum out of it.
And so the theory behind it isthat it acts kind of like a
hyaluronic acid and it plumps upyour skin.
And you know what?
I'm just gonna do it.
I've never seen a wrinkly snail.
(33:45):
So you know what, I'm just gonnagonna keep on keeping on not
wrong there.
Okay.
Okay.
So then I use niacinamide.
Um, I use, I, I kind of hoparound honestly.
I'll use the glow recipe one inthe morning'cause it's dewy, but
I like inky list.
Um, you can buy it at Sephora.
It's honestly pretty inexpensiveand I like it.
(34:07):
So I'll use their hi theirhyaluronic acid as well.
Or sorry, was I on niacinamide?
Was I talking about hyaluronicacid?
I dunno where I was
Kristine (34:16):
now.
I don't know.
Okay.
Well either way, because yousaid them both a couple times
and
Carrie (34:20):
I got confused.
I use both well.
Yeah.
So hyaluronic acid and niacin, niacinamide I use every morning
and every night.
Um, I just put them bothtogether and I pat them on my
face.
Either the inky list or the glowrecipe.
Again, I promise I will linkthem all for you guys in our
Instagram stories because I knowthis is a lot.
Mm-hmm.
In the morning I use vitamin C'cause it keeps you glowy at
night.
I use retinol.
(34:40):
Do not mix retinol and vitamin Ctogether.
No, you burn your face off orthey just won't work.
And then I use face off.
I use a lotion.
Yeah.
Um, so like I was mentioning inthe winter, my skin gets really
dry.
I use a pretty heavy cream atnight.
Um, which not everyone can do.
I use the Sara V likemoisturizing cream.
(35:03):
Yeah.
And like it's thick.
Yeah, that's good.
And I just love it.
And then in the daytime I use,um, The, I just add this skin
fix peptide cream.
I use that in the day for mylotion.
(35:24):
Okay, nice.
Yeah.
And then I put sunscreen on.
Yes.
And I use a glowy as fuck skinsunscreen.
Kristine (35:29):
Yeah.
Which one do you use again?
The laroche?
Carrie (35:32):
No, no, not that one.
No.
Nick, that was a Brooke one.
Nick and Nick and Brooke usethat one.
Um, it is the, I like how muchyou're gonna cut out because
it's the super goop that's supergoop glow screen.
Oh, okay.
Nice.
So it has like shimmer in it, soit makes you look glowy.
Ah, they also have a matte one,but that's cool.
I really like it.
Um, it has a little bit of tinin it and it makes me super
(35:54):
glowy and that's the end of mydaytime routine is sunscreen.
The end of my nighttime is mylotion.
Yep.
Um, if you're gonna start usingretinol, um, I recommend phasing
it into your skin.
It is very harsh.
It helps encourage cellularturnover in your face.
Mm-hmm.
Because your face as you getolder stops like, yeah.
Bringing the new skin, fluffingoff the old stuff.
(36:16):
So it is kind of harsh.
If you have something likerosacea or really sensitive
skin, they actually don't evenrecommend you use it at all.
Um, when I started usingretinol, I used it one day a
week, then two days a week, andthen three days a week.
And then I kind of built mytolerance up to now where I can
use it, like I use it four orfive times a week.
Um, I don't use it more thanthat because one night a week I
(36:39):
like to exfoliate my skin andone night a week I just like to
give it a break.
Kristine (36:44):
Yeah, that's good.
It is also very important.
Carrie (36:46):
It is.
So I use it four or five times aweek, um, on my face.
So that's my whole regime.
I'm gonna type it all out in areally nice long list'cause it
is long and I use a lot ofdifferent products and I'll,
I'll give you all my steps.
Um, so when I was mentioningthat I like to use medical grade
skincare, one of the brands thatI love is zeo.
Mm-hmm.
(37:07):
I use it too.
Yeah.
So I don't use it religiouslybecause it's really expensive,
but there are a couple of theirpieces that I do really like
their power defense I like touse before I put on my lotion.
And I also like their.
(37:29):
Hmm.
Growth factor serum.
Um, I'll use that sometimes atnight and I find such, such a
difference with it.
Um, and then if I'm feelingsaucy and I wanna buy like more,
I'll just replace out.
So if I wanna buy their lotion,I'll replace the lotion that I
use with theirs.
Um, if I want to use some oftheir, like their retinol is
(37:50):
what I use.
Yeah.
Stuff like that.
I do find it worth it.
It's just my problem is I have areally hard time spending like a
thousand dollars on skincare.
Mm-hmm.
It's just, yeah.
It gets to be
Kristine (38:04):
a lot.
And you go through it fastenough that it's Yeah.
It's really expensive to keepgoing.
Yeah.
Carrie (38:11):
And I'm not saying it's
not important to use.
No.
It's just, it's not ineveryone's budget.
Yeah.
And I'm trying agree.
I've been just trying to findthings that work for me that
aren't.
So expensive.
Mm-hmm.
You know?
Well, yeah, it,
Kristine (38:24):
like I said, like you,
you go through them so fast.
Yeah.
Just to keep your cost a littlebit.
Yeah.
Carrie (38:29):
Feasible better.
And then I'll sub it in forwhere I think it's important.
Totally.
Like, I think retinol's reallyimportant, so I'll use that.
My vitamin C I do use a medicalgrade, vitamin C.
Um, I use Vivier and it's, yeah,I like that same.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
Kristine (38:45):
I like that.
Yeah.
That's what I use for my wash,my past and stuff.
Oh
Carrie (38:48):
yeah.
Yeah.
I like that.
So I use their vitamin C.
Um, but then there's otherthings I just don't, uh, I
don't, and I'll replace itsometimes if I'm feeling saucy
or if I have a little bit extrabudget, but I just don't wanna
blow my budget at the same time.
Yeah.
So just know you don't have tospend a ton of money to have
good skincare products.
(39:10):
Um, obviously the more youspend, in some instances, you're
gonna have.
Better, higher qualityingredients, but it's not, you
are not, if you can't afford it,you're not gonna turn into the
crypt keeper.
Kristine (39:25):
Okay.
No, you'll be fine.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm done.
That was really good.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I was very, um, Ted tuned in.
Um, and then you'd saysomething, I'm like, oh yeah, I
need to like, Grab myinformation on that.
Yeah.
For when I start talking.
Oh, I like that.
Okay.
So, um, for face cleansers, Iuse the bi a, um, acne system.
I took pictures of all myproducts and I just saw the
(39:47):
picture I took of my, face washis the back of my hand and about
a quarter of my sink and alittle bit of the back of the
bottle.
That's funny.
So didn't too, too hot there forthe photo.
Mm-hmm.
But I do use your ac their acnesystem.
Yeah.
So is their acne wash, um, whichis paired with the acne
(40:08):
treatment lotion.
Um, it's got the benzo peroxideand et cetera, et cetera, and
that.
Mm-hmm.
So that really helps.
I've been using that.
One of my girlfriends, um, she, where does the heck does she
work?
She works at, um, Like anaesthetician Yeah.
Clinic type thing.
Yep.
Um, so she recommended thisbecause she, after I was done my
Accutane, she was like, well, what are you using on your skin?
(40:28):
And,'cause I was having someissues with my acne popping up
again and she's like, you reallyneed to get on an acne
treatment.
Just because you don't have liketons of acne right now doesn't
mean Yeah.
You shouldn't be treating itabsolutely all the time.
So she actually set me up withthis and I really, really ha,
I'm really, really happy withit.
Um, I've been using this forabout probably eight months or
(40:50):
so.
Um, and then I also have anotherlotion that I follow up after.
Um, after the acne treatmentlotion.
I do spray my space with theSunday Riley Pink drink as well.
Um, but we'll get to that.
And then where's the lotion?
Sorry.
I have all these photos.
the moisturizer is the SkinCuticles, uh, daily moisturizer.
(41:12):
It's a lightweight, poor,minimizing, I have pretty wide
pores, so that's helpful for meand it's really nice,
lightweight.
I do use this at night and, um,for daily use as well.
Um, so if you've been followingme or following us for a while,
you guys know that I've beenusing Sunday Reilly products for
a really long time.
There's some products that Istill use that I still
(41:33):
incorporate, mainly because Istill have them.
That's fair.
And I just, they're fairlyexpensive.
I wanna just use them and theywork well still.
Um, so I've been still using it.
So washing my face, I usuallytypically start with a ceramic
slip, um, uh, cleanser becauseit does break down your makeup.
Mm-hmm.
And it just like slides off yourface, which is really nice.
(41:54):
And then I'll wash my face withthe acne stuff.
I still spray my face with thepink drink.
It's just affirming like tonerthat I really enjoy.
Um, and it smells really good.
Love that.
Yeah.
and then, I will use the vitaminC oil as well.
Yes, I have oily skin, but don'tbe afraid of the oils.
I use that, during the daypretty much every day.
(42:18):
And then their glow, c e olotion as well.
Sometimes.
Um, I'll do that probably aboutthree, four times a week.
I don't wanna overdo it with thestuff on my face just because of
how, um, how heavy my face doesget with oil.
Mm-hmm.
I don't wanna cram too much onit.
and then I'll always end my,regime in the morning with my,
(42:38):
sunscreen, which I use theimage, 50, the 50 Ss p f this
one is the mattifying one.
It's quite thick.
Um, but I really enjoy it.
Carrie (42:47):
Yeah.
I find it too
heavy
Kristine (42:48):
for me.
Yeah.
And that's fair.
'cause I can, as soon as I putit on my hand, I find I, I
notice that it's very thick, especially have used the other
one before.
Um, it's definitely a thickerone, but I, I do enjoy it and my
face needs it.
Yeah.
so that's pretty much the.
Meat and potatoes that I use formy face, during the day.
And then at night, mostly thesame except for I do add a
(43:12):
couple other Sunday Riley, pieces I do add in their Luna.
Um, I'm gonna actually have itup here just so I can read about
it a little bit.
here it is.
So it's a night oil and Ireally, really like it on my
face.
It's nice, lightweight, um, itjust evens out your skin tone,
reduces wrinkles and, andminimizes pores as well.
(43:34):
Um, and then it helps with hspots, which I have.
So, it also, it is a blue oil,so it, um, helps with my
redness.
Which I really enjoy.
So I use that at night.
So I kind of use a little bit ofa mixed bag.
And then, um, you werementioning ZEO for yourself.
That is my shower face wash.
Yeah.
I like that.
(43:54):
So I have, when I was goingthrough, um, the Accutane
treatments, um, I was told by mydermatologist to use ze'cause
it's quite gentle in your skin.
Um, so I actually still havesome leftover, but I only use it
in a shower so I don't have tokeep going back and forth
mm-hmm.
Out of the shower mm-hmm.
And whatnot.
(44:14):
And I really like it.
It's just a gentle cleanser, um,that works well with my oily
skin.
So that's kind of Yeah.
That's totally fair.
What I use.
It's a little bit of a mixedbag.
Yeah.
Um, the vivie though, that'slike I am, it's a great product.
So, so happy with it.
Yeah.
Um, all, everything that I usehas been, trial and error.
Mm-hmm.
(44:35):
I've gone through so manydifferent products.
Um, With growing up with acne, like proactive was something
that I always had in my houseand never really worked.
And it was always a trial anderror
Carrie (44:47):
and I've, and it's, and
it probably bleached the shit
out of everything You ownedeverything.
Everything.
Remember?
I remember that.
Well.
I never used Proactive.
Yeah.
It Nick did and I remember everytowel we had, it was orange.
Yes.
Kristine (44:57):
It sucked.
I've also have been getting tothis point, I've also dealt with
a lot of dermatologists and alot of just doctors trying to
deal with my skin.
Um, so now I just try to useless is more on my face.
Mm-hmm.
I do have whatever, five, sixproducts that I still use in the
(45:17):
morning.
Yeah.
But for myself, less is morebecause of how much oil my skin
produces.
Mm-hmm.
Absolutely.
I do also use, um, an eye creampretty religiously.
it's the hydro peptide, um, eyeauthority.
I really like it.
It's for dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines.
I really, really enjoy it.
I can actually see an activedifference when I put it on.
(45:39):
Um, so I make sure I use thatevery morning when I wake up and
yeah.
And then I have coffee, so Ilook awake.
Carrie (45:46):
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
If I, sorry.
No.
If I was gonna say one thingthough, or two.
Okay.
I'm gonna give you two thingsthat like to me are an
non-negotiable sunscreen.
Yes.
Because you can't reverse thesun damage.
No.
There's a lot of things that youcan use products for to help.
Change your skin.
(46:07):
So I was talking about like howI use niacinamide that helps to,
like, I find when I don't useit, my um, pores get really
clogged.
Mm-hmm.
It helps with that hyaluronicacid will help like plump your
skin.
Yeah.
Retinol will help like with yourcellular turnover, like I was
saying in your face and likehelp with that.
But you can't reverse the sundamage that your skin is going
(46:29):
to have if you're not puttingsunscreen on.
Kristine (46:31):
Like, you can buy a,
like a, a lip plumper.
Yeah.
But you can't buy new
Carrie (46:34):
face skin.
No, you can't.
And you know, a lot of theproducts I use, I use for like,
You know, it's more of like themaintenance and stuff.
Yep.
But like, you can't, you can'ttake that back.
That's right.
Unless you start doing reallyintense treatments, which
Christine and I don't really doat this time.
No.
Um, I will also say thatChristine and I have never
injected our face with Botox.
(46:55):
I get that question all thetime.
So do I I
Kristine (46:57):
get, I get, um, lip
plumper questions.
Yeah.
I just have a juicy
Carrie (47:01):
bottom lip.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I've never had Botox.
Yeah.
I've never had filler.
Um, my face is the one I wasborn with and there's nothing
wrong with if you get Botox.
Totally.
That's, that's totally fine.
It's just something I've optednot to do.
Yeah.
For personal reasons.
I've actually
Kristine (47:17):
have had Botox, but
not on my face.
No.
It was for medical reasons formy, um, sweating in my, in my
armpits.
Yeah.
Um, which it did work, by theway.
Yeah.
If anybody has been curiousabout that.
It did work.
It's just very, very, verypainful, so.
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (47:31):
And expensive.
And expensive.
Yeah.
Um, so I said, sorry, I saidthere was two non-negotiables.
Wash your face.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like morning and night.
And I know a lot of people don'twash their face in the morning,
but I put a lot of products onmy face, so it's really
important to break them down.
Yeah.
And even if you don't wearmakeup at the end of the day,
you're gonna have a lot of crapon your skin from in the
environment.
Yeah.
From your sunscreen.
(47:52):
Yes.
Kristine (47:53):
Wash it off.
And your hands.
Yeah.
you touch your face with yourhands.
Mm-hmm.
Even if you don't, if you're nota face toucher mm-hmm.
You still touch your face.
Mm-hmm.
There's so much crap on yourhands.
Yeah.
Get it off your
Carrie (48:06):
face.
You know what I found reallywild?
This is like, this is an offtopic, but it's, it's not what
we were just talking about.
So when we were in Maui, um,we'd always go back to your
place after the beach.
Yeah.
And I'd have a shower, wash myface.
You'd have a shower, wash yourface.
Yeah.
If I don't put lotion on my faceimmediately after washing it, I
feel like my skin is going tosnap off because I have dry
skin.
(48:26):
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Whereas like you don't.
You don't.
And I didn't realize that noteveryone was like
Kristine (48:33):
that.
The only time I felt it,'cause Ihave felt it Yeah.
Is when I was on Accutane.
Yeah.
'cause my face dried out somuch.
That's my skin feels
Carrie (48:38):
all the time.
That's wild.
So if I don't put lotion onright after I, like, after I
wash my face.
Yeah.
Uh, it feels like my skin isgoing to just snap off.
Kristine (48:49):
Well, I'll make sure I
have lotion for you.
Carrie (48:51):
Thank you.
Yeah, no problem.
Yeah.
Even if I use like a hydratingcleanser.
Yeah.
It's still, I still have to putlotion on.
Wow.
'cause I have dry skin.
Kristine (48:58):
Yeah.
You do You remember my dry face?
Yes.
And my dry lips.
I do.
Carrie (49:03):
I remember your dry
lips.
Ugh.
Kristine (49:04):
They were still yucky.
I
Carrie (49:06):
don't use that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So like I said, I will put likea step-by-step what I do in the
morning, a step-by-step, what Ido at night, plus a link to all
the products.
I know my regime is like alittle bit more.
It doesn't take me long.
It sounds like it would take meforever.
It takes me less than 10minutes.
Yeah.
It's just I use, I just gothrough a lot of steps.
Yeah.
Same because.
(49:27):
I have found what works for me.
Yeah.
Kristine (49:30):
Yeah.
And I'll, I'll do the same.
Mine's a little bit morespecific to Yeah.
Taking care of a, a face who'sgone through so much with acne.
Um, but what I will do is I willbe very vulnerable and I'll post
a photo of what my face was whenI had acne.
Mm-hmm.
Um, through kind of what it isnow.
Yeah.
Because I do think it, there's alittle bit more of a story
(49:53):
Besides the product that I use.
Um, but they do help.
So if you have, or you have gonethrough or you have a friend or
relative who've gone throughthis, maybe that's a little bit
of an inspiration that there isa little bit, there's a, a light
at the end of the tunnel there.
Whenever
Carrie (50:07):
I see on TikTok, people
who are like starting their
Accutane journey and they postpictures, I'm like, oh my God.
I, I, I didn't realize how badyour acne was until it started
to get better.
It was
Kristine (50:16):
the most painful,
insecure, yeah.
Depressive moment of my wholelife.
Um, I'm not kidding you.
When I used to cry, when I wouldwash my face, that just the
touch of water would, it wouldliterally make a, a pimple
burst.
Mm-hmm.
And it was so painful how deepthey were.
(50:39):
Oh,
Carrie (50:40):
it's just awful.
And whenever I get one, like.
On like one, I'm talking one onmy chin and like, you know when
you touch it and it hurts, I'mlike, I can't even believe that
you had them everywhere.
Yeah.
And then like, it blows my mind.
Kristine (50:54):
And then imagine
talking.
Yeah.
So like you touch your face byaccident, you touch that pimple
and it, it shoots up your facelike that nerve, imagine like
them on your Yeah.
And your smile lines.
And you smile and then it shootsthat nerve up.
Mm-hmm.
And it goes through youreyeball.
Crazy.
It's brutal.
Anybody who gets like a onepimple or two, it, it just
breaks my heart.
(51:14):
'cause I know how painful theycan be.
Right.
And then I get the feels, it
Carrie (51:19):
feels so hard.
So it's.
Yeah.
I can't, I can't, I can'timagine because I only had like,
I only usually get one.
Kristine (51:27):
Yeah.
Now I'm like a one to two kindof gal.
Yeah.
Um, and then just normally likeat that time in the month or
whatever, I'll get mm-hmm.
Like an extra one.
But, um, now I'm like, oh, gotone pimple.
Like, doing good.
Yeah.
Look at fly.
Yeah.
But yeah.
Acne's a bitch so bad.
So bad.
Yeah.
It's such is life.
(51:47):
But I hope that if anybody isgoing through it, that you are
talking to a doctor, adermatologist mm-hmm.
And getting it, um, solved andjust um, make sure you're
pushing for yourself.
Be your advocate.
'cause they sometimes, you know,a slap of a cream on your face,
that's not gonna be your answer.
No.
Sometimes you need something alittle bit more intense.
(52:09):
You
Carrie (52:09):
do have to get your
skin, like my skincare routine
is because my skin is at a placewhere I don't need Yeah.
Something specific.
Exactly.
Do you know what I mean?
Like Yeah.
Totally.
It's why I just use basiccleansers because I don't feel
like my skin needs the Yeah.
Anything extra.
Kristine (52:28):
Anything else.
That's right.
Yeah.
But anyway, we'll probably key.
So we're gonna do our episode onlike our makeup and stuff
another time.
just'cause we are Yes.
Running out of time.
we have a very busy week thisweek.
Uh, we're actually recording ona Wednesday again.
Yep.
Uh, we were supposed to recordon Tuesday.
Didn't happen.
Um, that's totally fine.
(52:49):
Such as life.
So I hope this helps you guysand I hope that answers some of
your questions.
We will be getting to thecosmetic stuff, another episode.
Absolutely.
Um, yeah.
Carrie (53:00):
Okay.
Kristine (53:01):
Okay.
Ready for some listenerquestions.
Carrie?
Carrie (53:04):
Yeah.
Where do you get your eyebrowsDone.
Kristine (53:08):
Okay.
Carrie (53:09):
I love this question.
Me too.
I get asked all the time if Iget microblading.
Oh yeah.
All the time.
I love that.
All the time.
Kristine (53:17):
That's good.
I do not.
That's good.
No, I did once.
Yeah.
Uh, and then I never went back.
because of Covid, not because ofanything else.
Yeah.
I just didn't go back.
Yeah.
I still have some of the shape.
Yeah.
which I thoroughly enjoy.
I don't, I don't go anywhere formy eyebrows, but I do need some
cleaning.
I need to get it cleaned up alittle bit.
Yeah.
But I haven't gone anywhere.
(53:37):
I do my own brows.
Yeah.
So
Carrie (53:39):
I go to Layle at about
dem browse.
I'll also link this in a story.
My gosh, I need to make a list.
Can you just text it to us?
Yeah.
What we need to add in ourthing.
Um, so I go to her, so sometimesI'll do, what else did we say
earlier?
Um, all of our products.
Oh yeah.
Our regime.
And then I'll link Layle.
Um, I have pretty thick browsstill.
(54:01):
Like they're not thick likeChristine's, but like mine are
pretty like dense, so I don'tneed a lot of fill.
And I also don't like them too,too thick on my face.
They just don't work with my eyeshape.
'cause.
'cause of the way my eyes areshaped, but I like to go for
henna sometimes, just like, so Idon't have to fill them in.
But otherwise you guys, she justdoes the shaping and I fill them
(54:22):
in myself.
Yeah.
I can't, yeah.
I'm not wild like that.
Um, okay, someone said, do wedonate to charities on behalf of
the boutique or do we ever dosomething where some profits or
sales go to charity?
That's a really good question.
So yes, we do.
We do.
(54:42):
Um, it's very important
Kristine (54:43):
to us that we give
back when we can.
It is.
Carrie (54:46):
Um, I would like to say
though, that we don't always
advertise when we donate.
I don't, I don't ever wantanyone to think that we're
donating money.
For PR purposes.
Right.
So, um, a lot of times whenChristina and I make donations,
whether it's to, um, like theKidney Foundation, which is one
(55:07):
that's really close to us, orlike the diabetes Foundation or
whatever we choose to do on aregular basis, we always donate
to the Stollery because it holdsa place in our heart.
Um, a lot of times we just dothat on the side in silence and
I just want everyone to knowlike, we do donate.
Yeah.
Kristine (55:27):
We just don't, uh,
it's just not, we don't.
Make it public.
It's, yeah.
And it's not that it's bad ifyou do.
No, no, no, no, no.
It's just, we don't wanna makeit, like you said, like a PR
thing.
Mm-hmm.
We don't want it that, to takeover the meaning behind it.
Exactly.
Carrie (55:42):
Exactly.
So there has been a couple timesin the past where, um, we lost a
customer to cancer a coupleyears ago, and we did name a
whole entire line after them anddonated the proceeds.
Um, and we've done otherfundraisers like that.
We'll always disclose that whenwe do it, but honestly, a lot of
(56:04):
the times we just, we do do itregularly throughout the year.
Um, I do, I also donate a lotpersonally, um, especially to
the Stollery.
My daughter spent five days inthe Stollery when she was three.
So, and we had such a greatexperience there.
So it's something that myhusband and I always donate to
each year.
(56:24):
Um, but yeah, like, it's justnot something we.
Exactly.
We advertise, but we do.
Um, we are very fortunate thatwe have the opportunity to make
donations like that.
And it is very important to us.
It's just not something that wetalk about that often.
Mm-hmm.
Um, we also do, do donations ofclothing a couple times a year.
(56:45):
That's right.
If we have any product that, wehave leftover or maybe some
pieces that haven't moved, oreven just sometimes pieces that
we just didn't have time tolaunch, we'll always make sure
that we donate them, whetherit's to a women's shelter or to
another, um, cause like that.
That's right.
Okay.
Yeah.
Good answer.
Good job.
(57:05):
Carrie.
Carrie, are you ready for FuckMary, kill?
I have mine.
Kristine (57:08):
Yeah.
I'm like 14 seconds away.
Okay.
I'm just going screen to screenand I was, I was like listening
in as well as while you weretalking.
Yeah.
So I didn't wanna like, um, no,that was fine.
Carrie (57:17):
You know, I have mine if
you, I'll wait for you.
Yeah.
Just gimme two seconds.
Yeah.
Um, so thank you guys forlistening.
To our skincare like jam.
And I think you guys were alwaysasking, I get asked a lot and
honestly, my skincare routinehas been evolving so much over
the last year, um, as I've foundwhat works with for me.
(57:39):
Um, I had C O V I D last August,and when I tell you after I
recovered from it, my skin wentbonkers.
I'm not kidding you.
I couldn't use anything on myface.
I could only use the Cera vhydrating cleanser and the Cera
v.
Moisturizing cream.
It is the only thing that workedfor me, I don't know if you
(58:01):
remember.
Mm-hmm.
But my eyelids were like, I wasgetting contact dermatitis from
everything.
Yeah.
That was really wild.
Everything that touched my skin,my sunscreen was making me
breakout.
Vitamin C was making me breakoutin this rash.
Like, it was insane.
I probably had like four monthsthat I couldn't use any products
on my face.
Yeah.
I remember.
That was wild.
And we didn't know Covid wassuch a weird, right.
(58:23):
So weird.
Like what?
So I had it and then pretty muchinstantly we went to Vegas a
couple weeks after I recovered.
And um, we were at the pool oneday and I had a rash all over my
face.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, it was really great.
And I was like, what is this?
Yeah.
And it continued for months.
So this year, once I could startintroducing products again, I
(58:45):
really started to try to findsomething different that worked
for my face.
And that's why I've beenbuilding my routine.
Mm-hmm.
And that's why I don't talkabout it much, because I still
was trying to find what workedfor me.
Mm-hmm.
And I'm just getting to a placenow where I've consistently been
doing the same thing for thelast four or five months.
Cons consist.
Consistency.
It's key.
Yeah, it is.
It's key.
Don't, don't expect to slap theshit on your face and like the
(59:06):
next day look like, yeah.
You're 18 again.
Kristine (59:10):
Right.
I mean, I takes time.
I wish it takes time.
Another thing that I, I knewthat it was something that
bothered me.
Um.
My, in my gut really, uh, dairy, but I didn't realize mm-hmm.
How much it was actuallybothering my skin.
Yeah.
So once I, um, kind of, I domore so just have lactose-free
(59:30):
items now, but I have more orless cut out a lot of dairy and
I've noticed a big difference inmy acne as well.
So yeah.
Just a little extra tidbit ofinformation.
Okay.
I am ready for the, okay.
Fuck Mary.
Kill.
Okay.
Carrie (59:44):
Fuck Mary.
Kill, lost edition.
Yeah, I've been waiting forthis.
Yeah.
Okay.
Sawyer.
Kristine (59:50):
Oh yeah.
Jack.
Oh,
Carrie (59:53):
daddy.
Oh, there's Daddy.
Kristine (59:56):
Oh my.
Yeah.
Okay.
Carrie (01:00:01):
How do you pick through
those three?
Okay.
Kristine (01:00:05):
Oh, that's tough.
It is tough.
I, I've been waiting for this, but I've never actually like
Carrie (01:00:09):
Yeah.
Thought about it.
It was coming.
I was letting you get a littledeeper in the show.
My heart actually hurts.
Yeah.
Kristine (01:00:15):
So I just want out
crazy information about Jack, by
the way, last night.
Yeah.
Uh, yeah.
I'll tell you off podcast'causeI don't want to ruin it for
anybody, but, um, so I think Iwould, oh shit.
I think, hey, oh, I don't wantto, but I think I'd kill Sawyer,
although his nicknames that hegives people bringing me the
(01:00:35):
most joy.
I think I'm gonna kill Sawyer.
Okay.
I think I'm going to Buck Saeedand Mary Jack.
Carrie (01:00:44):
Yeah.
Kristine (01:00:45):
I love Saeed though.
Oh, he is just delicious.
Carrie (01:00:49):
He is fantastic.
He is
Kristine (01:00:51):
so handsome.
He's like, his accent makes melike, yeah.
So.
Ready to go.
Yeah.
And then Jack is just likedelicious.
He's smart.
He's a doctor.
He is very like forward andkind.
Yeah.
I think I'd marry him.
Okay.
(01:01:11):
Yeah.
Like in a perfect world, I'dfucking marry them all.
Yeah.
It's tricky.
That is tricky.
I'd kill Sawyer though.
That's fair.
He's super handsome though.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
We need to talk about the pastepisodes that I just watched.
I like that we have to haveconversations.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Highly recommend the showthough, guys.
(01:01:31):

Chuck.
Like I love Yeah.
Everything about Chuck.
Yeah.
(01:03:40):
And I mean, I think in the laterepisodes he's 18, he's over 18,
so we're going with Chuck here, but I just dunno if I'm gonna
marry him or fuck him.
Kristine (01:03:48):
He's definitely older.
Yeah.
In the later episodes.
In the later season.
Yeah.
Oh yeah, because it gouniversity.
Carrie (01:03:52):

the fucking Sophie's choice overhere because I don't know, like
Nathan is like, I almost did.
I actually had it right now.
Nathan is my, um, him in betweenhim and Chuck.
I would've had a really hardtime.
Okay.
Just, what am I gonna do with
Kristine (01:04:23):
Chuck though?
I really thought you were gonnakill Lucas Scott.
No.
Carrie (01:04:27):
Nope.
And I it Luke, I'm not goingwith Lucas though.
I'm going with Chad Marie.
Yeah.
Yeah.
'cause I don't really likeLucas's character very much.
Um, I am going to, these areboth really hard today.
Mary, Chuck.
Yeah.
Do that girlfriend, because Imean, there's a lot of reasons,
but I would like to be near himevery day of my life.
(01:04:47):

I'm like one of

Um, okay.
And then I will fuck Chad.
Michael Murray.
Yeah.
Good.
Not, not Lucas though.
Lucas
Kristine (01:05:11):

He'd be so fucking emotional.
Carrie (01:05:13):
Oh my God.
He would just always be crying.
You guys would be
Kristine (01:05:16):
like, fucking, and
he'd be like, it's always been
You get it together.
Carrie (01:05:23):
Get it together.
Get it together.
Lucas, I just, his personalityon the show like really
aggravates me.
Well, he's a fucking
Kristine (01:05:30):
broody.
Carrie (01:05:31):
Ugh.
Sad.
Sad.
I don't do well with the broodysad sex.
Um, but I do like Chad, MichaelMurray.
I saw him on a plane once.
Yeah.
Um, and then, yeah, I'd killRyan.
Yeah.
Okay.
That's,
Kristine (01:05:42):
it's just because I
don't like him.
Carrie (01:05:45):
I find him very
attractive.
Yeah.
But I am definitely partial toChad.
Michael Murray.
Yeah.
Kristine (01:05:52):
Well, yeah.
Aren't we all?
Carrie (01:05:55):
Yeah, he's very
attractive.
He is.
He's, he's getting a little bitthin for my tastes, my personal
tastes.
Yeah, I agree with that.
Um, but that's okay.
To each their own.
To
Kristine (01:06:05):
each their own.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Well, I'm really excited to beyour, uh, I'm hoping, I don't
know, I'll be something at yourwedding or when you marry Chuck.
You can, you can marry us.

I'm marrying my sister and herfiance in like two weeks.
In two weeks.
Y'all ready for that?
No, I haven't written a thingdown.
(01:06:27):
Less than two weeks.
I haven't even got the thing yetfrom the government to gimme my
thing yet.
Oh yeah, my certificate.
So I actually have to email themtoday and be like, what?
What's SAPs I need, I need toget this ready.
Um, I will be sneaking innineties rap lyrics into my
Carrie (01:06:45):
speeches, which is the
best part in my opinion.
Kristine (01:06:47):
Yes.
So Tupac will be makingappearance just through,
Carrie (01:06:53):
just through his lyrics.
Amazing.
But yeah.
Anyway.
Kristine (01:06:57):
Well, that was a
really good time, Carrie.
That was fun.
Carrie (01:07:00):
It was educational.
It was educational.
I really liked hearing aboutwhat you put on your face.
Thanks.
I like that you used Vivier andso do I.
Kristine (01:07:06):
Yeah, I, yeah, about
eight months ago or something.
I really enjoy it.
It's, it, it's nice.
Yeah.
Carrie (01:07:14):
It's nice.
The cool thing about theirvitamin C I don't, I don't use
that one yet.
I'm like back, I'm back hereagain.
That's okay.
So they come in three separatebottles?
Yeah, they're monthly bottles.
Oh, nice.
And like you actually activateit.
Yeah.
That's cool.
Because if you guys didn't knowvitamin C can break down, breaks
down like fast like a week.
Yeah.
If it's exposed to sunlight andthen it's useless.
So they come in really darkbottles and you activate them.
(01:07:34):
Yeah, I was
Kristine (01:07:34):
gonna say, that's why
most bottles when they come in,
they're colored of some sort.
Yeah.
So they don't let the light in.
Yeah.
Which is a weird, weird
Carrie (01:07:41):
thing.
Okay.
