Carrie (00:08):
Oh, hey, it's Carrie and Christine, and we are best
friends.
Welcome to Two Babes Podcast.
We are the owners of Lavenderand Lace Boutique, an online
women's boutique based outtaShore Park, Alberta.
And honestly, we started apodcast just so we could hear

Kristine (00:22):
ourselves talk.
We have nice voices.
We do.
I don't find them annoying.
You know when you hear voices onthe line Yeah.
The internet.
Yeah.
And you're like, oh, for fuck'ssakes.
I do.

Carrie (00:33):
I

Kristine (00:34):
yeah, I do.
So I think our voices are verynice.
So nice.
I've got, I've gottencompliments.
Yeah.
Yeah.
My family was over, um, well, atmy dad's house on the weekend,
and, uh, my aunt and unclelistened to the podcast and they
said that we have very invitingvoices.
Oh.
And they're not mousey orannoying.
And I was like, that is, that issuch a, like, that's the highest
compliment.

(00:54):
So thank you.
Because

Carrie (00:55):
mousey and annoying is the

Kristine (00:56):
worst.
But yeah, suddenly they said, wejust, we have nice voices to
listen to.
Oh, that's so nice.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kate, what?
Uh, so every, every uh, episodewe start off with just talking
about like how our weekend ismm-hmm.
Or was what do we do?
Mm-hmm.
Um, blah, blah, blah.
And then we're just gonna, we'regonna talk about that stuff.
And, uh, today's episode we'rejust gonna shoot the shit,

Carrie (01:17):
which is really nice.
We are shooting the shit today.
Honestly.
I need shoot the shit day.

Kristine (01:21):
Yeah, me too.
I need a little bit of a

Carrie (01:23):
break.
I am still struggling with, uh,my anxiety when I wake up in the
morning.
Oh no.
I even had it this weekend.

Kristine (01:32):
What?
Really?
That sucks.
Yeah.
Even while you were away.
Yeah.
That's a bummer.
Yeah.
Well, why don't, since we'retalking about you, why don't we
talk about your weekend?

Carrie (01:40):
Okay.
So I went to Syl Lake for theweekend.
That's so nice.
It is nice.
And you know, I'm excited totalk about Sylvan on this
episode with you.
Me too.
Yeah.

Kristine (01:48):
So we briefly talked about it last episode.
We did Just brief.
We forgot some details.
A couple details.
Yeah.
And now I'm really ready to jumpinto that.
Yeah, so

Carrie (01:57):
carry on.
Um, so I was there last weekendand my husband and I decided why
not go another weekend.
Um, my family has, my parentshave a house there, um, kind of
close to the lake, but then theyalso have, um, some other
properties and one that theyhold just for like, family to
come visit, which is so nice.
And so that's like the og Yeah, that is the one that my parents

(02:23):
bought out there when I wasreally young.
I was probably 10 and we've hadit ever since.
And two years ago it actuallyburnt down.
Oh, broke my heart.
Yeah.
it was arson but it took twofull years to kind of get it
back.
So the way the condo works isthere's up and down units and
they're all kind of connected.

(02:43):
There's like six or seven, sevenwouldn't make sense since
there's two, six probably oreight.
And they're all connected in arow and yeah, there was a fire
at my that was awful.
Parents.
Yeah.
So it's finally habitable againthis year and we were just so
excited to go stay'cause wehaven't been for a couple years.

(03:04):
And Brooke just freaking lovedit.
Well, yeah.
Was fun to love.
She loved it.
And she just thinks it's socool.
And I was telling her all kindsof different memories I had when
I was a kid.
Out there and she just thinksit's so cool.
That's awesome.
Yeah, we went for some walks andsome adventures and then we just
did a lot of chilling too.
That's nice.
Which was so nice.
Um, the Blue Jays played on, um,Saturday.

(03:28):
Well, I guess they played everyday, but they played on Saturday
and they did.
Uh, Kind of like, almost like aHall of Fame induction for one
of their players.
And Jose.
Jose and I had to watch it'causehe's one of my favorite players.
He played back in like myfavorite time of watching the
Blue Jays play.
So I wanted to watch it and Iwanted to see what other of my
favorite players were gonna bethere.

(03:49):
And quite a few were.
That's so fun.
Very exciting.
So we watched that.
I cried as I do.
Aw, that's nice.
My mom and I both cried and mydad and Nick were like, oh my
God, you guys.
And then we just relaxed.
It was really nice.
That's so lovely.
I read my book.
I finished my book, club book.
Nice.

Kristine (04:06):
Yeah.
Nailed

Carrie (04:07):
it.
Yeah.
So I'm really excited to recordthat episode.
I really, I thoroughly enjoyedit from beginning.
Beginning.
Yeah.
We haven't even talked about it.

Kristine (04:13):
Yeah, I know.
Which is so bizarre.
I know.
We always talk about the bookswe're reading.
Yeah.
I thorough talk about itprobably'cause we're saving it,
I guess.
Yeah.

Carrie (04:21):
Yeah.
Yeah.
I won't talk too much.
I'm just gonna say I thoroughlyenjoyed it.
Yeah.
You guys, it's a really goodread.
Very like light, fluffy, easy toread.
Yeah.
That's, yeah.
Thanks.
But also really relatable.

Kristine (04:32):
Okay.
Like

Carrie (04:33):
really relatable.
I'm excited.
And, yeah, I really liked it.
I like Emily Henry books.
They're not, they're definitely,if you're looking for spicy,
they definitely don't have a tonof spice in them.
But the story's really good.
Yeah.
Good.
And I really

Kristine (04:46):
liked it.
I'm excited.
I'm only about, I don't know.
I think six, seven chapters in.
Yeah.
And I, I am enjoying it.

Carrie (04:53):
It's definitely a longer book.
Yeah, definitely.
More of like, I'm gonna have

Kristine (04:56):
to really hammer through because we're recording
that episode, I think onWednesday or Thursday, so Yeah,
we'll

Carrie (05:00):
probably do it Thursday.

Kristine (05:01):
Thursday.
Gimme a little bit more time.
Yeah, it's just, it was really

Carrie (05:04):
good.
Good.
I'm excited.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's really good.
So I'm ex really excited to talkabout that.
And then we came home yesterdayand Brooke had a birthday party
to go to.

Kristine (05:14):
Yeah, yeah.

Carrie (05:15):
Some little rug Rat's birthday.
Yeah.
And so Brooke's girl's birthdayparty to go to, and then you
guys came over for dinner.
Yep.
You sure did.
And I said to Nick, I'm like, I,one of the things I don't.
Like about leaving for theweekend, which I have a really
hard time with, is it sets meoutta my routine.
Yeah.
And I don't have my day to likereset.
Yeah.
And so last night probablywould've been the time to do

(05:37):
that, but instead we invited youguys over for dinner.
Yeah.
And I didn't have any time.
So this morning I felt likechaotic.
Yeah.
It, I agree.
Yeah.
And not that I'm not happy youguys came over for dinner, but
like that probably wasn't mybest move.
Yeah.
Well,

Kristine (05:50):
whatever.
Yeah.
You get what you get, you know, because

Carrie (05:51):
now I just feel like my week's just like not reset,
especially

Kristine (05:55):
because we are going away right away.
Yeah.
Uh, we're going to Vegas, um,soon, very, very soon.
We're actually recording threetimes this week, which is gonna
be Netty.
Yeah.
Um, but so yeah.
It's, it's a little bit chaoticthis week, so I, I totally get
you on that.

Carrie (06:10):
Mm-hmm.
So I wish I would've just givenmyself a little bit more time
last night to reset, but Ididn't.
Yeah.
And that's okay to.
I was gonna say tomorrow nightI'll do it.
No, I won't.
I don't know.
I'll do it on Friday.
I'll just live in chaos untilFriday.
Yeah.
Good.
Good for it.
That helps my anxiety for sure.
For sure.

Kristine (06:24):
Yeah.
We're gonna have to get you awoo saw tattoo also.
Seriously, I've just, you canjust, you know what, I'll take a
picture of Jason's.
Yeah.
We'll put it as your newbackground on your phone.
Yeah.
And you can just look at it.
But I have camera boots on mybackground.
Well, well, you can switch themback and forth.
I know.
So, yeah, I get it.
It's fine.
It's just been weird.
I haven't changed my backgroundon my phone.

(06:45):
No, no.
It's Nick Jonas from when I sawhim, saw them in February.
Yeah.
That's funny.
I like how I said, saw him inFebruary.
Yeah.
But like, there are two otherguys in the band.
Yeah.
Um, but yeah, no, I, it's stilllike Jonas, it's the photo that
I took.
So it's like, yeah, he gets meright in the, yeah.
In the, in the

Carrie (07:00):
heart.
You know what I soul, you knowwhat I really love since we're
shooting the shit, I love that.
I don't feel obligated to takevideos at concerts.
Mm-hmm.
Because I can just watch them onTikTok.

Kristine (07:11):
That is really

Carrie (07:11):
nice.
It is really nice.
Oh, like I didn't take anyvideos at B B J of Morgan.
I like we're on a first namebasis.
Yeah.
Naturally.
And uh, I'm just so happy that Ididn't,'cause I love being in
the moment and I hate feelingobligated to take a video to
watch later.
I just love that there was the 8million of them on TikTok.
Yeah.
I don't have to totally.

(07:32):
I can save other

Kristine (07:32):
people's videos and I tend to watch those videos more
than I watch my own videos thatI take.
Me too.
So like I'll still take a coupleand I, but I really, um, try to
be mindful of looking above mycamera.
Yeah.
Or above my phone, not watchingthrough your camera.
Yes.
Because like girlfriend you, like you Yeah.
The people who you actually wantto see, the people you paid to

(07:53):
see are like right there.
Like Yeah.
They're right there.
Yeah.

Carrie (07:56):
So like I didn't take any videos that night.
Yeah.
Good.
That's, I just was like there inthe moment.
Within the moment.
Yeah.
With Morgan and his mullet.

Kristine (08:04):
I did, I took more photo, like when I saw the Jonas
Brothers in Vegas, because wedid see them twice back to back.
I did take more photos andvideos on the first night than I
did the second night.
I still took some on the secondnight'cause we were closer.
Mm-hmm.
Um, but I definitely took lessbecause like, I already, I saw
them.
Mm-hmm.
So like if you s.
You saw Morgan mm-hmm.
Before mm-hmm.
And now you're like reallyseeing it.

(08:26):
Yeah.
And that's, that gets me, it wasgood.
I, I, I love, I hope thateverybody has like a, a band or
an artist that they like reallyspoon over.
Mm-hmm.
Not just like fangirling, butreally like, can feel their
music.
Yeah.
Because it just like everythingspeaks to me Yeah.
And is relatable.
Yeah.
In my life.

Carrie (08:47):
Yeah.
I just love, like, it just makesme happy.
Yeah.
And music's always been such abig part of my life.
Like growing up music was alwayson in my house.
Yeah.
Like always.
We didn't, we were alwayslistening to music.
My parents' listen to music, nonstop love.
So that's kind of how I grew up.
And so I just love music.
Yeah, me too.
All kinds

Kristine (09:06):
of music and live music is like Yeah.
My fav.
Mm-hmm.
I love being a concert person.
Mm-hmm.
I will forever be a concertperson.
Me too.
Uh, Carrie and I in.
in September we are going to seethe chicks.
Mm-hmm.
And then the next day Jason andI are flying out to LA to go see
the Jonas Feathers, and thenJason and I get back on Sunday.

(09:27):
And then Monday we're going togo see 50 cent.
So like we are like back toback.
Yeah.
And then also we're seeing PaulBrandt in November.
In November.
And then I, we we're both goingto see the Jonas Brothers in, we
are November.

Carrie (09:41):
November.
So like there's the next week, the week after.
Yeah.
Paul Brant, Paul Bratt,

Kristine (09:45):
like it is just back to back, back to back.
And I

Carrie (09:48):
love that.
For us, it was the thing duringCovid that I missed the most
Yeah.
Was concerts.
Yeah.
Same.
And as soon as concerts startedhappening again, Nick and I were
like, going to all of'em.
Let's go.
And we still do.
Yeah.
I, and yes, concert tickets areobscene priced, but I just,
it's, it brings me the utmostjoy.
Yeah.
I,

Kristine (10:08):
my first concert, I think I was.
My mom took me to go see NSYNCat the SHE Conference Center,
and I still, I

Carrie (10:17):
don't know when that was 'cause I was there.
I

Kristine (10:19):
still have like very vivid memories of that.
Um, and it was one of like thehighlights for me and my mom
used to take us to all theconcerts.
She, it was also very importantto her.
There was the one that she coulddo.
We didn't have very much moneybut growing up, but she would
save literally her pennies.

Carrie (10:38):
1998.
So you were 10?
I was 10 July 9th, 1998.

Kristine (10:42):
So we, my mom would literally save her pennies to
take us to these shows and wewould go to meet and greets and
all the Yeah.
Concerts we possibly could.
And I will forever hold thosememories because it was, mm-hmm.
It was just a highlight.
So I hope that, um, Scarletcontinues to enjoy these things
with us and mm-hmm.

(11:03):
We're taking her to JonasBrothers and I think that she's
just gonna like fall in lovewith it.
Yeah.
The live music, like how I did,and I mean, she's a little bit,
a little bit younger than I was.
Mm-hmm.
But I still think she's gonnajust fall in love with the
atmosphere.
Yeah.
Brooke

Carrie (11:15):
loved to come, like loved going to a concert.
Yeah.
It is just so cool.
She was overwhelmed at first.
I, well, naturally it was thatfreaking commonwealth.
So like I don't blame her.
I was overwhelmed.
But, uh,

Kristine (11:25):
she loved it.
Yeah.
Good.
Yeah.
I'm so, so excited.

Carrie (11:28):
I almost took her to that show, but I just don't know
if she'd like it.
Which

Kristine (11:33):
Jonas Bon Oh yeah.
She told me Nick Jonas is lame.
Mm-hmm.
So we're, we have beef rightnow.
Yeah.
So I just don't think

Carrie (11:39):
she would've liked it, so.
Fair enough.

Kristine (11:41):
I'm taking my niece.
Yeah.
Scarlet's borderline obsessed,so it's a perfect one for her.
Yeah.
That's so good.
Yeah.
So on the weekend, um, it washer birthday party, like we
mentioned.
Yeah.
Um, she had a Nick Jonas on thebeach birthday party and how the
fuck do you decorate for that?
So that one's a tricky one.
So, I bought beach themeddecorations, a backdrop, and

(12:04):
then, um, a Nick Jonas life sizecardboard cutout.
And we took it around the gymand made him do gymnastics
things.
And it was like, which I love sofunny.
Was so funny.
Um, and Scarlet's gym coach isalso like madly in love with
the, John Brothers as well.
So she was like having the timeof her life with that.

(12:26):
And uh, Carrie was helping ustake videos and so funny, bring
him around the gym and so funny.
It was hilarious.
But yeah, so we did that andthen I went to a, we would, did
a birthday party after at thesame gym till like it was back,
back like four hours of birthdaypartying.
I'd rather.
Run 21 kilometers backwards inshoes that don't fit.

(12:49):
Yeah.
Let me tell

Carrie (12:50):
you.
Yeah, you were dead when you got

Kristine (12:52):
to my house.
I was not in a good shape.
Yeah.
Like I was sweaty.
'cause it was like it was hot inthere.
Yeah.
There was like 40, people atthis birthday party.
The second one.
Yeah.
So they, it was just busy.
Mm-hmm.
And I am a very, I'm not verygood at socializing with people.
I don't know.
I overheat, I get very sweaty.
I don't do well.
And I was like blaming howsweaty I was on the temperature

(13:16):
of the gym, but really, but

Carrie (13:17):
it was really your social, social awkwardness.

Kristine (13:19):
Yeah.
Like my social anxiety was justlike at its peak.
So I'm like sweaty and I wasjust like, I looked like I.
I don't know.
I went through the wringer.
Yep.
It was not, it was a lot of fun.
And it was a great birthdayparty and great company.
I just, I'm not good at socialthings.
Yeah.
With people I don't know.
And I also have a hard timetalking about myself.

(13:40):
That's fair.
With people that don't know me.
That's fair.
I can chat your ear off all daylong as I am right now.
Mm-hmm.
But when they like start askingthings about me.
Yeah.
Like what do I do for work?
What do I do for fun?
Where do I live?
I just get like, so sociallyawkward.
Yeah.
And the anxiety just like spillsout of me.

(14:01):
Yeah.
I'm, I don't know.
I need lessons on how to talk topeople.
That's funny.
It's so bad, but it's fine.
And now, you know, if you talkto me somewhere out and about
and you're asking me real lifequestions, I'm probably dying
inside

Carrie (14:16):
and I don't have a problem talking about myself.
I have such

Kristine (14:18):
a hard time.
That's fair.
Like, what do you do for work?
And I love talking about what Ido for work.
Yeah.
But like, holy shit, I'm likedying because like, It's just
weird for me.
It's hard.
Yeah, that's fair.
I've never been very good atthat.
I can like talk stupid shit allday long.
Yeah.

Carrie (14:34):
But whatever.
See, and I'm the opposite.
I'd rather you ask me directquestions so I can answer them.
Oh.
I

Kristine (14:38):
like to avoid real questions.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Anything important Dodge that.
Yeah.
But like, see, this is why Ineed to go to therapy.
We're continuously to go on aregular basis.
Someone's asking.
And how do you feel?
Dodge that one.
Wow.
Don't wanna talk about it.
Nope.
I don't wanna tell you.
I'm okay.
I'm not okay.

(14:59):
That's funny.
Yeah.
And that's me.
Wow.
We really are shooting the shittoday.
Yeah.
I wanted to tell you a story.
Okay.
Speaking.
I'm talking about dumb shit.
I'm ready.
Okay.
So I went and picked upStarbucks, um, before we started
recording.
As we do, as we do.
And I went through thedrive-through as we do, and I
ordered Carrie's coffee.

(15:20):
She wanted a venti Americanodecaf, um, with a half and half
cream.
Okay.
The lady at the window has theaudacity to ask me if you wanted
a single or a double double.
Excuse me, ma'am.
I was at Starbucks.
I was so confused and I wasthrown.

(15:41):
I'm like, no one's ever asked methis before.
I dunno.
I dunno.
And she's like, oh, I'm sorry.
No one's ever asked you that.
A a double double, ma'am.
I was so thrown off.
What

Carrie (15:53):
is a double double at Starbucks babe?
I

Kristine (15:55):
have no idea.
I

Carrie (15:57):
have no clue.
Okay.
Well, I will say that normallyit's a half inch of cream and
today it's a quarter inch.
Oh, okay.
So that must have something todo with it.
Maybe this is much better.
Yeah.
You like that.
It's normally too creamy for me.
Okay.
Okay.
Well that's good.
So I like this quarter inchbusiness.
Okay,

Kristine (16:13):
so now we know.
But I just, I didn't know whatthat meant.
So she asked me and I, I waslike, no, no one's ever asked me
this before.
I'm like, completely thrown off.
Yeah.
And then, um, I'm like, I don'tknow what they do.
And she's like, oh, they must dowhat?
Just their heart tells'em.
And I'm like, so flustered.
They're

Carrie (16:29):
pouring with their heart or they're pouring with

Kristine (16:31):
her heart.
So if you have been to Starbucksand they've asked you if, if you
wanna double, double or asingle, like, is this normal?
Can you just, and someone pleaseconfirm.
Please tell me what is both Ifyou work at Starbucks, is this
the thing?
Maybe she just, maybe she justcame from like a Tim Horton's
job or something maybe.
I don't know.
But I was so

Carrie (16:50):
thrown off.
Like a double, double or likeDid she just mean like a double
No, she said a double.
I know double, but like, is thatwhat she meant is a double?
Yeah.
Yeah.
But

Kristine (16:58):
she said, said a double double.
She said like a,'cause she wasclarifying, she said like, two
cream, two sugar.
Yeah.
And she's like, double, double.
And I'm like, well, I don't.
I don't want that.
What is

Carrie (17:09):
that, mom?
Yeah, so I was

Kristine (17:10):
really confused.
So if it's is, if it's a thingmm-hmm.
Please let me know.
I'm, because I'd like to bementally prepared for next time
a single is a

Carrie (17:17):
quarter, a double is half inch.
Maybe.
maybe a double you pour withyour heart.
I don't

Kristine (17:22):
the fuck is that?
Like if we carry, and I go toStarbucks almost every day, like
we go to Starbucks a lot toomuch sometimes.
And uh, like, I don't actuallymean that, by the way.
There's never too muchStarbucks, but, oh, I was gonna
say.
Uh, but we, we go there a lotand I've never been asked that
before.

Carrie (17:40):
Me either.
Are you taking a picture of me?
I was gonna take a

Kristine (17:42):
video.
Oh, okay.
Perfect.
Go for it.
Yeah, yeah.
Um, so yeah, that's, that's whathappened to me today and I was
so thrown off and it's becauseit's, it was our normal
Starbucks.
Yeah.
Like our typical everydayStarbucks and they asked me a
bizarro question.
I was so thrown.
I didn't even get a chance toask for a straw for my drink.

Carrie (18:02):
Oh, well, honestly, the paper straws suck anyways.
They do suck.

Kristine (18:04):
Yeah.
Yeah.
So that was my story I wanted toshare with you because I was so
thrown off.
Like it did, it took me until wegot back here for me to like
settle.
Yeah.
Because I was just, it was sobizarre.
But that's fine.
Funny.
That's what happened to me.

Carrie (18:18):
Today's, well, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry That they asked youabout the singles and the
doubles and pouring with theirheart.
It was so bizarre.
Pour with our

Kristine (18:27):
heart here.
No, we don't.
We don't.
So yeah.
Anyway,

Carrie (18:31):
my heart's black, so you wouldn't get very good coffee.

Kristine (18:36):
It's alright.
I took a sip of my coffee, nowI'm choking.
That's funny.

Carrie (18:39):
Um, I love that.
I love Starbucks.
Me too.
Speaking of coffee, my husbandand I went to the lake this
weekend.
Yeah.
Well, the three of us went, butNick and I took our Es maker.
Yeah.
We took the whole machine.
The whole, the whole shebang.
Plus the extra grinder.
Because Nick and I love coffee, but Nick can't drink too much
caffeine.
Well, neither can, I probablyshouldn't drink any with

(19:01):
anxiety, but like I do.
Yeah, I do.
But Nick can't drink more thanlike a cup or two, or he starts
getting like mad shakes.
Yeah, he does.
Yeah.
Like such bad shakes.
So we have to take our decafgrinder and our calf grinder.
Yeah.
And our espresso maker.
And we took it to the lake withus because I hate drip coffee.
Yeah.
And I don't like curate coffeevery much.

(19:23):
No, it's not, it's not the best.
I'm, I like flavored ones.
But you don't like flavoredcoffee?
No.
No.
And like, so I'm all aboutmaking americanos like espresso.
So last weekend when we went tothe lake, we were drinking like,
Shit.
Coffee or going to the coffeeshop, which is fine, but it gets
a little pricey every day.
Yeah, totally.
We like to drink at least threecoffees in the morning.

(19:44):
Yeah.
So we brought our espressomachine and Brooke's like, you
brought that from home.
Yeah.
Don't judge me.
Yeah, I did.
Brooke.
I hope she likes coffee.
Like I like

Kristine (19:52):
coffee.
Yeah.
I get, yeah.
I hope

Carrie (19:55):
so too.
Yeah, I really do.
Or maybe I don't.
'cause it's really bad.
It's, it is an expensiveaddiction too.
Yeah.
And I, um, I stopped in at aboutique in Zel mm-hmm.
And did some shopping.
That's so nice.
And they have a little coffeeshop on the main floor.
And I got a coffee there.
It was fantastic.
Where is it located?
In the old, like restaurant.

(20:16):
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
I thought so.
Yeah.
So the main floor is the coffeeshop and then they have like
some Nicky Nicky down there.
They have some local like, um,fresh stuff, like fresh milk and
fresh produce down there.
That's cool.
And then upstairs is the entirething.
Is the boutique.
Boutique.
That's awesome.
Very nice.

Kristine (20:32):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Love that.
Yeah.
And you bought some new pants?
I did.
I bought a top.

Carrie (20:36):
I bought the top too.
Oh good.
I bought the whole

Kristine (20:38):
fit.
Perfect.
Yeah.
Those are

Carrie (20:39):
beautiful.
Yeah.
Nick hated them.
Yeah.

Kristine (20:41):
Well, Nick can get

Carrie (20:42):
bent.
He's like, I sent him a picture.
I'm like, what do you, I'm like,do you like these or not?
And he was like, I feel likeyou, no or not.
And he was like, I feel like ifyou have to ask, you already
know the answer to that.
I'm like, I do, but I'm buyingthem anyways.
Yeah.
He's like, oh, okay.
Okay.
Or

Kristine (20:56):
nah, or nah.
That's, that's fucking funny.
Speaking of shopping, Carrie'staking my husband shopping.
I'm tomorrow night.
Yeah.
I, uh, taste.
Really wants some new cowboyboots.
And if I knew you mean some atall?
Yeah, some like his very firstpair.
And I was like, oh, that's sonice.
You should go with Carrie.

(21:17):
Like I'm fucking useless.
Yeah.
In that department.
Yeah.
So I was like, you should takeCarrie, like you should do this
as a team.
Mm-hmm.
And so yeah, she's uh, gonnatake Jace on a date or date.
Jace, take her on a date.
I don't know.
They're dynamic.
Okay.
I don't either actually.
So I did ask who's driving andthey both didn't have an answer,

(21:37):
so I don't know.
Yeah.
Stressful.
He better fucking hold the dooropen for you.
I hope so.
He'll, well, this episode willbe out on Thursday.
Oh yeah.
So it's fine.
So we can talk all about it.
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
That's great.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So who knows what's gonnahappen.
I don't know.
I

Carrie (21:53):
hope he's driving though.
I made him drive home yesterday.
Yeah.
That was really funny.
For

Kristine (21:55):
the birthday party.
So yeah.
So I sent Jace home with Carrieand her daughter because Scarlet
and I were staying for thatother birthday party.
Mm-hmm.
And uh, I just, I needed thecar, so, yeah.
And we, I didn't want two cars

Carrie (22:09):
there.
No, no, no.
He was, come you can,

Kristine (22:12):
I didn't even ask the same place.
I didn't even ask her.
I said, I have to say this part,I had to say for this other
birthday party, I'm sending Jacehome with you.
And she's like, okay, Jace askedme.

Carrie (22:22):
Oh, he did?
Yeah.
At the party.
Oh, that's so nice.
He like, it's okay if I comehome with you today.
Is, is that right?
No.
And I'm like, nah, nah, we'regoing.
No, no.
We're gonna the sameneighborhood.
Of course you can come home withme.
That's so cute that he asked.
Yeah, he asked.

Kristine (22:35):
Oh, he better hold the door open for you.
Hope he does.
If he does though, I'll be alittle jealous because he
absolutely does not do that forme most times.
I think he's trying to trip meon the way to the car.

Carrie (22:49):
Oh, that's funny.
But yeah, I was like, how's yourfoot?
Like, is it good when you drive?
And he's like, oh yeah, driving's fine.
I'm like, ah, yeah.
Yeah.
I was like, how do you feelabout driving home?

Kristine (22:57):
He tore his planters, uh, planter fascia on the bottom
of his foot.
I think we talked about it lastweek maybe.
Yeah, probably.
So that's what Carrie wasreferring

Carrie (23:06):
Tocause.
I I took him to the Yeah, thatwe, that's right.
The, the old hospital then wetalked about when we recorded
it.
That's right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That was neat.
Yeah.
So I was like, yeah, how's yourfoot?
Can you drive?
Will you drive home?
'cause I don't want to.

Kristine (23:19):
Yeah.
Good.
I'm glad you did.
And it was funny'cause I cameout to go get my book.
Yeah.
And then Carrie rolls down thewindow, she's in the passenger
seat, and she's like, oh hey.

Carrie (23:33):
Didn't feel like driving.
It's why I brought, it's why Idrove the SS u V and not the
car.

Kristine (23:37):
Yeah, that's nice.

Carrie (23:38):
That's perfect Because like I already had full
intentions of asking Jason todrive home.
That's perfect.
And if I drove the car, hecouldn't.
Yeah.
Yeah.

Kristine (23:45):
So yeah, he needs, well he's not gonna learn how to
drive a standard on that.
So Nick, Nick said he teach himon that.
Why not?
I'm not even

Carrie (23:53):
allowed to look at the car.
No.

Kristine (23:56):
I've been in it twice, maybe three times.
No more than that now.
'cause you've driven it fewtimes to work.
Yeah.
But yeah, no, I'm not allowed tolearn on that.
No.
My dad actually took me, um,driving in his old standard and
uh, he told me that I should bea contestant on Canada's verse
driver.
So my dad loves me a lot is whatwe're the moral of the story

(24:19):
here.
I love that.
I couldn't figure it out, butthat's fine.
It's fine.
Um, an old friend of ours, um,tried to teach me as well,
recently passed away.
Um, so that, that sucks.
But regardless, he tried toteach me and well, he could not,
he's the one

Carrie (24:35):
who taught me.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And well kind of.
And Matt had a standard two andone day.
I was like, oh, can I drive thecar today?
He's like, yeah, why don't youdrive it without me?
And he sent me on my way withhis car.
That's

Kristine (24:49):
so nice.
And

Carrie (24:50):
trusting to let me drive it.
And I drove it home to like myparents' house.
Yeah.
So I was living there at thetime, and I drove it there.
And then I had to drive it back.
And there's this hill going upto, it's on 34th street, going
up to the overpass to get ontolike shear park, freeway.
Yeah.
And it's ki it's not a big hill,but it's, no, it's a little

(25:12):
hill.
But this, the person behind mewas so close to my back bumper.
Oh no.
And I was nervous.
Yeah.
And so I just like stopped, turned on the hazard lights, let
them go around me.
Yeah.
Good for you.
And then I went, because yeah, Iwould've done the same thing.
I was still, I still wasn'tconfident enough that I wasn't
gonna roll back into them.
Yeah.

Kristine (25:31):
Wow.
So I would've done the same.

Carrie (25:33):
Yeah.
So I did, I turned on my hazardlights rolled down the window.
I was like, go bus, go around,go

Kristine (25:38):
around.
Oh no, I just stalled.
Oh

Carrie (25:41):
no.
They would've stopped and belike, do you need anything?
No, no, no, no.
I just need you to get the Foutta here.

Kristine (25:48):
Yeah, if you could just move your car.
Um, about 700 meters north

Carrie (25:52):
of here.
Is that great?
Yeah.
Like please get outta here so Ican continue on with my journey.
Yeah.
Because I was like freaking out.
Yeah.
I'm like, I don't know what todo.
So funny.
But yeah, I'm obviously a littlebit more confident now.
Yeah.
But I did drive a standard foryears.
When I turned 21, I got a newcar and it was a standard.
And I remember my dad took melike shop car shopping and I was

(26:15):
like, I want a standard.
And he's like, you know how todrive one.
And I was like, Uhhuh.
Yeah, totally.
No, Carrie did not know what shewas doing.
You track them

Kristine (26:25):
all the time,

Carrie (26:26):
dad.
I'm like, oh yeah, I got this.
And he's like, well, I guess.
And I'm like, yeah, no, no,that's what I want.
Like I want,'cause I wanted astandard and I remember when I
got it, we had to leave thedealership and like they're all
standing around like staring andlike clapping.
So excited for me.
Yay.
And I'm like, oh my God, don'tstall the car and leave me the
dealership that's gonna bemortifying.
Oh my God.

(26:46):
But I didn't thank God.
And then obviously I drove thatcar for quite some time.
Yeah.
Like until I was 29, when I waspregnant with Brooke.
It was starting to get, startingto get rough.
Yeah.
I worked, um, I worked downtownwhen I drove it too, and like
that, I was fine.
But yeah, when I was pregnantwith Brooke, it was starting to
get a little bit taxing.

(27:07):
Yeah.
Clutching and you know.
Well, yeah.
It's just so

Kristine (27:10):
much.
And it was a sports car, soyou're running outta space.
Oh.

Carrie (27:13):
And like getting in and out of it.
That's hard.
It was

Kristine (27:15):
so low.
Oh my god.
Remember your couch?
Yes.
Carrie had no, you still have,it's downstairs though.
The basement.
She has this extremely lusciouscouch that like the story makes
sense.
Okay.
When.
I was pregnant.
She had this couch upstairs.
And that's how this story islinked here.
We're talking about pregnanciesnow.

(27:36):
So when I was pregnant, I sat onthis couch and I couldn't get
up.
I could not get up.
I had to get help to get up, evoff this couch every single
time.
And there was one time I wasreally pregnant and I had
Brooke, um, at the house and itwas just me carrying network on.
They were gone.
And uh, I had to put Brooke onthe floor and like roll myself

(27:59):
off the couch because I gotstuck.
And so I understand the small, not small spaces, but the spaces
and the spatial awareness whenyou're pregnant.
Yeah.
Because you can get real, you,you can, you get stuck.
You get stuck.
So stuck.
So I get it

Carrie (28:14):
that you had to get in the car.
Yeah, I was getting out therewas rough and I had an SS u V at
the time too.
I had two vehicles'cause.
The car was just getting harderand we were lived out on the
acreage and it was really hardto drive it in the winter out
there.
Yeah.
And so I was never driving itanymore and I'm like, okay,
yeah, it's time now.
I still miss it.
But then when Nick got his carand it was a standard, I'm, it's

(28:36):
just so excited.
It's just fun.
That's really NICE's

Kristine (28:38):
a fun time.
I can't drive a standard, but Ican parallel park.
Mm-hmm.
I'm an amazing, you're a reallygood parallel.
Parker Parallel.
It's like the Can Canada's gottalent.
I'll go on with that.
You'll go parallel park.
Yeah.
Well I got nothing else

Carrie (28:53):
for skills.
I don't know the last time I hadto parallel park, so I just
don't know if I like, I'm sure Icould, but I don't know.
The last time I did, I have todo

Kristine (29:02):
a lot at um, when I do school pickup.
Oh yeah.
'cause people dunno how tofucking move forward.
Yeah.
I hope somebody from our town islistening.
Yeah.
Because I, uh, move up, move up,move up.
It's not hard.
There's an empty space move upand the people behind you can
also scooch in.
They can then we'll be happy.

(29:22):
I don't know.
I don't know why people don'tmove up.
So anyway, so usually if there'sa space, I'm not sitting, you'll
parallel park there.
I'm not sitting at the backthere.
I will move up and I'll goparallel park into that

Carrie (29:31):
spot.
I just don't understand theinability to move up, but
whatever.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.

Kristine (29:36):
Yeah.
Well anyway, whatever.
I'm very bitter about thattopic.
Right.
And I do one pickup a week.
Like I'm barely there.
Yeah.
But I'm mad.

Carrie (29:48):
Yeah, yeah.
Whatever.
That's why like Nick goes likevery end now.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because Brooke's usually not outuntil.

Kristine (29:55):
The bit to end.
Yeah.
Scarlet's the same way.
Laura has been getting closer tothat too, because she's just off
being social and mm-hmm.
Starts playing soccer with theboys at the end of school, like
mm-hmm.
Come on you guys.
No, I,

Carrie (30:08):
I'd rather she be late than have to go to the crazy

Kristine (30:11):
pickup.
Well, I'd have to go track herdown Oh's.
That's what I don't like.
Oh, Brooke comes.
Yeah, that sits, she comes.
That's nice.
Yeah.
I have to go track my kid down.
Oh yeah.
That's fair.
Yeah, she's off.
She'd probably hop on somebody'sschool bus.
Yeah.
She's

Carrie (30:23):
like, oh, go home with you.
It reminds me of V Full Housewhen she goes to New Zealand.
Yes.

Kristine (30:28):
Yeah.
That was on the plane.
On the plane.
That was a good episode.
Yeah.
Awesome.
Yeah.
I didn't talk about what I didon the weekend, but I honestly
don't think I did much.

Carrie (30:37):
No, you didn't do anything.
Oh, didn't you go buy new shoes?

Kristine (30:40):
I did buy new shoes.
Yeah.
I bought new pairs.
Pictures, two pairs.
Yeah.
That was really nice.
So I actually, I went to anotherrunning store that was
recommended by myphysiotherapist, uh, and, uh,
he's a runner as well, and he islike, go, just go.
Like, they're so good there.
And yeah, I ended up buying twonew pairs of shoes.
I bought a race day shoe, andI'm nervous because it like
propels you forward.
Mm-hmm.

(31:01):
And, uh, I'm nervous.
Yeah.

Carrie (31:05):
I don't what have you put them on yet?
Yeah, I did.
Like, I did you run in them

Kristine (31:07):
on the treadmill there?
Yeah.
And like, I feel, I felt good,but I'm nervous.
Like, what if I stumble and Ijust keep going?
You know, I'm just, yeah.
I'm a little bit of a clutz.
Yeah.
So I think it'll be okay.
It'll be fine.
So I have to try to break themin a little bit this week, this
week.
And uh, and maybe I'll wear themon Sunday.
'cause I am running a halfmarathon on Sunday.
You are?

(31:28):
It's supposed to be rainy, sodon't go.
Oh, is it?

Carrie (31:31):
Don't go.
Oh no.
Let me look.

Kristine (31:33):
Yeah, it's supposed to be shitty weather.
Oh, we were just looking when Iwas at my appointment.
Um, but yeah, so I bought twonew pairs of shoes.
I had a really good experienceat, um, fast Tracks in Edmonton.
Um, the guy was superknowledgeable and very, very
helpful and really took his timeand answered all of my
ridiculous questions and I'mvery, very happy.
So I ended up with two newpairs.

(31:54):
I bought like a, um, everydayshoe.
I needed a new pair.
'cause I'm getting, I'm gettingclose to the mileage on my
current pair.
And uh, the pair he brought out,he's like, I think you're gonna
like these.
He's like, but best part is likethey're 50% off'cause like
they're just last seasons.
Yeah.
So I got'em for$70.
Oh, that's sweet.
And I actually genuinely enjoyedthem.
Yeah.

(32:15):
Like

Carrie (32:15):
they fit really good.
Were they the same brand?
No.

Kristine (32:17):
Oh completely.
Yeah.
I got, uh, they were Brooks Ibelieve.
Oh yeah.
Is what I got.
Believe they were Brooks.
And then my race shoe is a newbalance.
Yeah.
It's got like a carbon plate init.
I don't know.
I don't understand it.
Yeah.
All that hubbub.
But I'm really excited.
So it's fun.
And then I bought new, uh uh,electrolyte gels.
Oh, nice.
Very thrilling.
Yeah, yeah.

(32:38):
Yeah.
Running is weird.
It is weird.
It's really strange.
But I thoroughly enjoy it.
It,

Carrie (32:44):
it's weird to me that you're just running like, like
when you really, you know howsometimes you stop and think
about things and you're like, that's just fucking weird.
Yeah.
That's running to me.
Like if you really think aboutit, you're just running.
Running.

Kristine (33:01):
Why?
I don't know exactly.
I don't know, but I find itlike, Calming.
Yeah.
And that's great.
And like most people, like, youknow, like to like meditate or
something for calmingexperience.
Yeah.
I like to put my shoes on andpretend somebody's chasing me.
Yeah.

Carrie (33:16):
And that's awesome.
Yeah.

Kristine (33:18):
So it's like, it's a weird

Carrie (33:20):
thing to do.
It is a weird concept if youreally think about it.
Yeah.
Yeah.

Kristine (33:24):
But I do enjoy it.
Yeah.
So I, I ran again this weekendand I was a quitter in my run.
You were a quitter.
I was supposed to go 14kilometers and I'm like, I don't
have time for this today, so I'mgonna go 10 and I made it 9.3
and you're like, fuck it, I'mdone.

Carrie (33:40):
I get it.
I'm a quitter.
So on.
Um, as you guys know, I've beentrying to walk five kilometers a
day for a hundred days.
I don't even know what day I'mon now, but, um, I went for a
walk on.
Friday.
Mm-hmm.
I get really screwed up becauseFriday is not a normal day off,
but like it is my normal dayoff, but it's not a normal day

(34:02):
off for people.
So it always screws me up.
Like on Saturday.
I thought it was Sunday.
Yep.
So I went for a walk.
Oh yeah.
It was 1.5 kilometers and wewere just walking in my parents'
house or I was walking back topick up the car or something.
And, um, So I recorded it and Iwas like, oh, now I'll just walk
three and a half tonight andthen that'll make five.
And then when I was walking, Iwas like, that's cheating.
Like you're supposed to do afive kilometer

Kristine (34:25):
walk.
So did you do a full five after?
Yeah.

Carrie (34:28):
That's really impressive.
And then I did the same thing onSaturday.
I did a two and a half kilometerwalk.
I walked to the condo and thenback.
Yeah.
And I got a full two and a halfkilometers and I was like, oh,
well I can just go two and ahalf tonight.
Like, that's great.
'cause I was really tired.
No, I did a full five because Iwas like, that's cheating.
Yeah.
You're not supposed to breakinto two walks.
You're just supposed to do asingle five kilometer walk.

(34:48):
Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater.
So I did it.
That's awesome.
Congratulations.
Yeah.
Oh, thanks.
What a, you just fucking time

Kristine (34:54):
rolling in those, uh, kilometers.
Yeah.
How many kilometers have youdone this month?

Carrie (35:00):
I don't know.
We're on the 14th.
Okay, let me, because

Kristine (35:03):
you can do the dropdown.
Did you know that the what?
The dropdown where?
Okay.
Um, go see.
Okay.
Hold on.
Do you see all workouts on thetop right hand corner?
Click that.
Yeah.
And click walking.
Oh

Carrie (35:15):
yeah.
Okay.
Um, and

Kristine (35:17):
then it should give you the total up at the top
there.
On your left.
It

Carrie (35:20):
says time.
Can I see it?
Yeah.
It just says time and how manywalks I've done.
Oh, it doesn't give you akilometer?

Kristine (35:28):
No.
Oh, that's really strange.
Oh, mine does.
Mine gives me a total forrunning.
Oh.
I don't

Carrie (35:33):
know why it does that.
I don't know either.
I'm sorry.
That's okay.
I was like, I don't, I don'tknow.
I, you know what?
But I can give you an answer.
If you give me 13 seconds, Ican.
Yeah.
I'll count down.
Yeah, don't actually do that.
Keep talking about something.
Oh,

Kristine (35:46):
what else did I do this weekend?
Oh, it was my dad's 60thbirthday,

Carrie (35:49):
which was really fun.
My mom and I were actuallytalking about how old your dad
is, like on the

Kristine (35:53):
weekend and how he's 60.
Mm-hmm.
Or is it weird that he's

Carrie (35:55):
60?
I mean, it's not weird.
It's just so funny because youand I are really close in age.
Yeah.
And your dad's 60 And my dad is77.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's, yeah, it's weird.
You know what I mean?
It's just weird how like, parents can all be such
different

Kristine (36:12):
ages.
Your dad's built differentthough.
Yeah, he's built foot tough.
Yeah.
He, he doesn't look or act likehe's in his late seventies 77.
No, there's not, like, not alittle, not an ounce.
My dad walks

Carrie (36:26):
like five miles a day still.
Yeah, that's,

Kristine (36:29):
he's wild.
He's fit as a fiddle.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So it was my dad's 60thbirthday, so his wife had a, um,
birthday party for him.
A birthday barbecue.
Yeah.
Um, so my whole family was thereand it was actually a lot.
It was like a lot of fun.
Yeah.
Um, I thoroughly enjoyed myself,um, at my dad's or my
grandparents.
As soon as you walk in the door, you.

(36:50):
Respectfully take a shot ofBrandy.
Well, I respectfully that daydid, I ran the 9.3 kilometers
and then I didn't eat afterbecause I didn't have time.
So I respectfully got very drunkoff of a shot of brandy and a
beer that I had after.
So before we went to my dad's,we stopped at the liquor store

(37:11):
and Jace ran in for me and Iasked him to grab me some
Coronas.
'cause I've been on a big Coronakick right now.
So he brings me the Coronas, weget to dad's and I have my shot
of Brandy and Jace passes me abeer.
And, uh, I was like,

Carrie (37:25):
what the fuck is

Kristine (37:26):
this?
He bought me those cos Sothey're like, oh, the old
babies, old baby beers.
So I'm like, okay.
I got drunk off that tiny babybeer.
That's funny.
'cause I was, I had nothing inmy stomach.
Yeah.
I been there and I was starving.
Um,'cause I didn't eat before weleft.
And uh, yeah.

(37:46):
So I had a brandy and a carita.
I love that.
And it was delicious.
I, yeah, I'm really big on theCoronas right now.
Yeah.

Carrie (37:54):
And I, that's great.
I I like Coronas in margaritas.
Yeah.
I do love myself with a bulldog.
Like I love a bulldog.
Yeah.
And we, you know, I wanna talkabout my bulldog glasses for a
second.
So when I was younger, Y'allneed to remember, I was a lot
younger.
I was in my twenties.

(38:15):
I wasn't a mother, I wasn't agood person.
We went to Julio's Barrio and Iwas having bulldogs and my
husband and I were just likedrinking them with our
neighbors.
We had so many bulldogs.
I hope someone here works atJulio's Barrio and they're gonna

Kristine (38:31):
tell everybody, oh, I know the, I know the story.
Yeah.

Carrie (38:33):
And so I said to the server, I'm like, I need to know
where these glasses are from.
Like I want a bulldog glass.
Yeah.
And like that was before thedays of like Amazon, like you
can just go on Amazon and searchfor a bulldog glass.
Like that wasn't a thing.
And so I asked her, I'm like, where are these from?
I need to know, are they local?
Like, do you bring them in?
Where are they from?

(38:53):
And she looks at me dead in theface and she's like, they're so
hard to find.
Yeah.
Well, ma'am, that was the wrongthing to say to me with my big
purse.
So I took home two Bulldogglasses from Julio's Barrio and
because we had ordered so many,no one, like you would never
have noticed.

(39:14):
Yeah.
'cause we had glasses all overthe table.
Right.
So I, I, I stole two.
I borrowed, I'll return them oneday.
Yeah, yeah.
From Julio's Barrio.
That's so funny.
Come for me.
I'm a rebel.

Kristine (39:26):
You know what, no one, I almost guarantee it.
No one who worked there 15 yearsago whenever this was.
Uh, they don't work thereanymore.
No, they don't.
They don't give a flying.
Fuck.
No.
They probably stole the, theglasses too.
Yeah.
They probably said they're sohard to find because they, their
staff kept stealing them.

Carrie (39:44):
Yeah.
Like, she's like, oh, they'rejust so hard to find.
Like, we have a hard time withthem.
So like, well, obviously then Itook it.
Okay.
This month I have walked 71.76kilometers.
That's so good.
Since I started walking fivekilometers a day, I've walked
402 kilometers.

Kristine (39:58):
Wow.
That is like Tour de France.

Carrie (40:02):
Yeah.
Like where, where, how far isfour oh oh kilometers?
Like where can you go?
Very far?
Yeah.
Very, very, very, very, veryfar.
78 days, 400, two kilometers.
I've walked, hold on.
I don't know.
I need to look something up.
I don't know how far 400kilometers is from here, So, um,
I have, uh, two bulldog glassesfrom Julio's Barrio in my, uh,

(40:22):
in my cupboard.
They're well used, like wellloved.
We really do love them.
And I'd say it's like nodifferent than them breaking a
glass and you having, you know,it's the same thing.
And I had a big purse.
How far did you, 402 kilometers

Kristine (40:38):
You could, you're 22 kilometers.
2 24, sorry.
24 kilometers short of reachingBanff.
Oh, I love that.
From here.
That's so cool.
From, from right here.
Oh, you're 24 kilometers short.

Carrie (40:52):
Oh.
So like by the end of this weekI'll walk to Banff.

Kristine (40:55):
Yes.
Oh, that's cool.
Congratulations.
I hope you don't see a bear.
Thank you.

Carrie (41:00):
I hope, I hope I don't either.
Especially found out here.
Yeah.
That's really fun.
I like that.
I had to look it up.
Yeah.
Because I was like, that's far.
Yeah.
And I knew it was, I just dunnowhat's 400 kilometers from here.
Yeah.
And I didn't really realize,'cause I hadn't inputted my, I
use an app called the HabitTracker.
Yeah, that's cool.
And that's where I just put my,like walks in every day.
And so it'll tell me how farI've gone total since I started

(41:24):
this streak.
Mm-hmm.
And how far I've gone thismonth.
That's really impressive.
My average daily total is 5.09kilometers.
Wow.
Yeah.
Good job.
Thank you.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
So I,

Kristine (41:36):
I'll give you a sending ovation.
Uh, I

Carrie (41:38):
would Don't get up.
Yeah.
The same.
Yeah.
I'll do one later.
20.
I have 22 days left.
Oh yeah.
Still,

Kristine (41:45):
still.
I wonder how far you're gonna gothis year.
I don't know.
Thus, like this year, I don'tknow, but I think you're gonna
make it across Canada.

Carrie (41:56):
Could you imagine?
I love that.
I just told everyone that Istole bar glasses from Julio's
Barrio.
Me too.
Like I can't believe I toldpeople that out loud on the
internet.

Kristine (42:04):
That's fine.
I stole one.
I stole.

Carrie (42:07):
Once the statute of limitations is over, they can't
arrest me.
Are they gonna arrest me for theJulio's party?
They're gonna glasses.

Kristine (42:14):
Woo.
We're here for Carrie for herglasses.
Be like, that was a joke.
Yeah, that was, yeah.
For legal purposes.
This is a joke.
Prove it.
Come at me, bro.
I stole once.
I stole a pack of gum from theSobeys.
Oh, I remember that.
And then I cried.
Yeah.
And then I returned it.

(42:34):
I've never

Carrie (42:35):
stolen anything from a store.

Kristine (42:37):
No, that was like, that was the one and only time.
And then I cried.
Yeah.
And then I returned it and helet me keep the gum.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I was, I was not in a goodplace.
I was so sad, so upset.
Oh yeah.
I like, I made it back to myhouse, which was like a five
minute walk.
And, and then I was like, flipping a bitch.
Like I turned right around.
You were just beside yourself.

(42:57):
Yeah.
Couldn't do it.
And then that's the only thingI've ever stolen on purpose.
Like I'm sure I've walked outwith something.
Do you remember the target sawthat?

Carrie (43:04):
Yeah.
Okay.
So the target in Maui, I'vebeen, I, I frequent there at,
when we're there as I do, andone time I had a whole or a
cardigan.
Cardigan.
I put a cardigan on.
I was cold in the store.
It was freezing in there.
Yeah.
It was very, very cold.
They fucking pump in that airconditioning.
Mm-hmm.
Like nobody's business.

(43:25):
I was so cold.
So I put on a cardigan to wearwhile we were shopping.
Yeah.
We, shit, I fucking stole thething.
Yeah.
So we're

Kristine (43:31):
just like, shoot, like we're just talking and chopping
and.
You know what, like, it justfelt so normal.
Mm-hmm.
And nothing felt unusual.
Yeah.
And then we get home or in thecar or something.
In the car, because I took itback.

Carrie (43:43):
Yeah.
I took

Kristine (43:44):
it back in.
Right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
We're in the car in the parkinglot.
Yeah.
And we we're like, holy shit.
Yeah.
And uh, yeah, he went back anddropped it off.
Yeah.

Carrie (43:54):
Whoops.
And then next time I went, I wasbuying a bunch of books.
This was before I had a Kindle.
I was buying a bunch of booksand she didn't scan them all in.
Oh yeah.
And I, like four of them werefree.
Yeah.
And I felt

Kristine (44:09):
awful.
That's happened to me too beforeUnintentional though.
I felt awful.
And like sometimes it's just alittle too late.
It was too Well, I didn't

Carrie (44:16):
realize until I got home.
Yeah.
Because I was like telling mymom, mom, I'm like, oh, I bought
all these books.
And she's like, oh yeah.
And I was like, yeah, I think Ispent like$78.
And I was like, wait, wait.

Kristine (44:24):
That doesn't add up.
That doesn't, that doesn't, andI'm sure.
That I like, you know, thetoilet paper or something on the
bottom of your cart, didn't makea scan.
Absolutely.
But like, I've never, ever in mylife intentionally stole except
for that one piece of like thatgum stick of gum.
And I will never, ever do thatagain.
Yeah.

(44:44):
Never.
Yeah.
That hurts.
That still even hurt.
Yeah.
Still kills

Carrie (44:48):
yang.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I feel that way about the JulioBarrio glasses.
I'm just kidding.
I don't, I love them.
I love them.
I love them.
Like I love them.
Yeah.
And the lady told me they werehard to buy.
Yeah.
That was her fault.
You shouldn't

Kristine (45:01):
have told me that.
Huh?
Commodity like carrie's, likeeverybody m empty your bags.

Carrie (45:05):
Well, I used to, I had like a big like hobo bag.
Yeah.
Which I remember it.
And so did, so did ourneighbors, who we were with.
'cause they, they also stole acouple glasses.
They also took two.
Honestly, we, we probably gotlike, between the four of us, we
probably got like 20 bulldogsthat night.
So like,

Kristine (45:20):
Yeah.
You know, they can get some ofthose glasses.
It's fine.
Whatevs,

Carrie (45:24):
fuck, whatever.
I really, I really love mybulldog glasses.
And if anyone, sorry.
Maybe you don't know what abulldog is.
It is a lime margarita slushwith a corita, like a small
little baby.
Corona tipped into it, and asyou're drinking it, the corona
slowly empties and it's justlike the combo, it's delight is
fucking fantastic.

(45:45):
Yeah.
And like, now I wanna go toWhite Aven drink.
I was just gonna say now abulldog.
A bulldog.
We can do that.
Sure.
Yeah.
Let's make that happen.
We're available.
Yeah.

Kristine (45:53):
This week's a little tough.
Yeah.
Next.
A little tough here.

Carrie (45:55):
Tough.
Yeah.
We're gonna Vegas next week formy birthday.
We are Woo woo Kate.
I wanna talk about something I'mreally upset about.
Let's hear it, baby.
The fact that you can't wearsneakers to the bar there.
Yeah.
That's

Kristine (46:06):
bullshit.
'cause it's a fucking trend.
I'm, I almost said sorry forswearing.
I'm not fucking

Carrie (46:10):
sorry for, for swearing.
No, you're not.
I said effing earlier and I waslike, what was I doing?

Kristine (46:14):
It's a, it's a trend.
It's comfortable.
Mm-hmm.
It fits my orthotics.
Yes.
As an old lady.
Yes.
I need it.

Carrie (46:24):
And like, the funny thing is, so what's,

Kristine (46:26):
what's, why are we banning this?

Carrie (46:28):
I don't dunno.
Especially Jordan's.
'cause they're not supposed towear them.
Like

Kristine (46:32):
Yeah.
Apparently the Nike symbol isgang related.
Yeah.
Well, how

Carrie (46:36):
I, I am a 37 year old mother.
Yeah.
I am not in a gang.
I just wanna wear my Jordans tothe bar.
I just want my orthotics.
So I ordered a really cute pair.
They're not coming anyways.
They're fucking lost.
But, um, to fit my birthdayvibe, I wanted to like, I wanted
to wear pink.

(46:57):
Yeah.
I wanted to wear pink.
Yeah.
You know?
Yeah.
I wanted to be pink for mybirthday.
This one does.
I was gonna wear pleathershorts.
Pink top look cute with mysneaks.
Where are you?
Were you

Kristine (47:05):
um, gonna wear that on your birthday day?
Yeah.
Okay.
I was just curious what like, what day you were planning it.
'cause we have outings planned.
We do.
So I was curious.

Carrie (47:12):
Yeah.
And so, and then I was gonnawear my matching pink sneaks.
Yeah.
No, they're not coming.
They're lost.
They're lost at the sea and likewe can't even wear them.
Yeah.
'cause you're not allowed towear them to the the clubs.

Kristine (47:22):
Well what were you, oh yeah, we're gonna go to the
piano bar on that.
On your birthday night maybe.
Yeah, potentially.
So.
Potentially could get away withit there.
We

Carrie (47:28):
could.
Absolutely could because

Kristine (47:30):
I've worn them there.
Yeah.
But yeah.
Oh, that's so fucking numb.
Yeah.

Carrie (47:35):
I'm upset and I wanna know if like, this is like old
and they've relaxed it a bit.
'cause I swear when Jason and Iwent to

Kristine (47:41):
Juul, Carrie and JCO clubbing.
Yeah.
I

Carrie (47:45):
swear the kids were in the sneakers.
Probably.
But I wonder if it makes adifference if they're just like
all white sneakers versus like,You know, like if you're wearing
like all white versus somethingmore casual, like maybe a

Kristine (47:58):
colorful sneaker maybe, or like a, a high

Carrie (48:01):
versus low or something.
I don't, I don't wanna wr and Iordered mids, so casual.
Um, I don't wanna risk gettingall the way to the bar and then
being like, sorry, ma'am.
Your shoes aren't allowed.
Like Yeah, like it happened tous once there.
Yes.
Not you and I but the boys.
Yeah.
Yeah.

Kristine (48:17):
Well we were

Carrie (48:18):
dressed appropriately.
Well, the, that place suckedanyways.
That was, we

Kristine (48:21):
should have fucking left.
Shitty.
I don't know why we stayed.
I, but whatever.
I know.
Yeah.
We went to, I can't, what was itcalled?
It was in the

Carrie (48:27):
Bellagio.
Yeah.
I don't remember because we onlywent there the one time.
Yeah.
Because it used to my, so my oldfavorite restaurant in all of
Vegas was called cco.
It was the best, it was anItalian restaurant in Bellagio.
It looked over the fountains andit was Italian and the food was
phenomenal.
And like the ambiance wasamazing because you were looking
out over the fountains.
Yeah.
Which are probably one of myfavorite parts of Vegas, which I

(48:48):
know is so like cliche, but Ijust love it.
And.
It was so good.
They fucking, it was gone.
Yeah.
And they replaced it with thislittle like tofu bar kind of
vibe.
And it

Kristine (48:58):
was like super trendy.
Like very modern.
There's lots of like differentlights and stuff in it.
Yeah.
And it was just, it was toomuch.
And Yeah.
The, yeah.
The boys showed up in dressshorts.
Yep.
They were very nice shorts.
Yep.
But they were not allowed inbecause they were not in pants
full pant.
So it was August, so it was likeplus 40, like it was hot.

(49:22):
Yeah.
And, uh, yeah.
So the boys had to go back andchange.
So they did, they got their backlike another 45 minutes later or
whatever.
Mm-hmm.
And Carrie and I went in and hadsome drinks and, but like, we
never went back.

Carrie (49:32):
No.
The food, it wasn't, I like, tops are fine, but like, I like
food and I like a, like a meal.
I, I can't get full.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
I'm never getting full.
I agree.

Kristine (49:44):
So I went to, what's that place here in Short Park?
Yeah, I went to that place.
Yep.
You know what I'm talking about?
Yeah.
If you think of it, name it.
Yep.
Because it was delicious.
Yep.
And I loved it.
I went with Michelle Ashley, like Yeah.
Yeah.
A long, long, like a while back.
Yeah.
But anyway, we went and like,I'm, I'm not getting satisfied,
like I'm not filling my stomachbecause like, there's just not

(50:04):
enough.
Mm-hmm.
And I want like a meal.
Yeah.
It's just like snackies.
I want my own.

Carrie (50:10):
Yeah.
But like I, it's just you'rejust eating snack.
Like that's a midday thing.
Yeah.
That's not a dinner thing.

Kristine (50:14):
I agree.
It's not.
And I like to eat.
I like, I really like to pack itin

Carrie (50:18):
Well when

Kristine (50:19):
Vegas, so Yeah.
Yeah.
Tap is out.
Meals are in, meals are in mealsare in, yeah.
So yeah, we're, we're doing,we're going to Mastros for
Carrie's

Carrie (50:28):
birthday and like our husbands will never get full off
taco snacks.

Kristine (50:33):
God, they, we spent so much money if we did that.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
But we were talking about, um,clubbing.
So Carrie and Jace last year.
Yep.
Last year?
Yeah, it was last year.
Um, we went back to the hotel.
We had a really big dinner.
No, it wasn't Masters night.
I looked it up.
It wasn't Masters night.
No.
Oh, it not?
No, we were just fucking tired.
So we got back to the hotel.

(50:54):
We were

Carrie (50:55):
changing.
It was, because remember, theywouldn't, they wouldn't let me
into the, the nightclub.
'cause my nipples were Yes.
Right.

Kristine (51:00):
So we went to change, and then Nick and I just, we
were so tired and like, I waspretty drunk.
Like I was pretty drunk.
I couldn't life anymore, but Iwas like, my feet were so
exhausted I couldn't even getthem in my shoes anymore.
Yeah.
So I'm like, I need to go tobed.
And Nick's like, well, I'm tiredtoo.
I'm gonna go to bed.
So I went to bed.
Nick went to bed and Carrie andJace went out clubbing.

(51:22):
We

Carrie (51:22):
did.
I was like, I'm not ready to goto bed.
No.
Was like, I don't go to bed.
Jason clubbing.
Jason's like, well, I don'twanna go to bed, like, let's go
out.
So we didn't know where we weregoing.
We were just heading out.
Um, yeah.
So it was this night where wewalked to the giant chicken.
Oh yeah.
That was the night that we went.
Jason and I went out that night.
What was I wearing?
Um, you were wearing Gracely

Kristine (51:43):
skirt.
Skirt, uh, the pleather one.

Carrie (51:47):
With the knot?
Nope.
I was wearing the pleather onethat night.
You were wearing like a, oh,maybe you were, I don't know
what you were wearing.

Kristine (51:55):
Well, show me the cock, the cook

Carrie (51:57):
photo?
Yeah.
The big rooster I was trying toscrew.
Maybe the fabric

Kristine (52:01):
one.
Yeah.
No, that's the, that's the graceand lace one I

Carrie (52:04):
think.
Oh, well that's what I waswearing that night.
That would be weird.

Kristine (52:07):
Okay.
Maybe it's the fabric one.
Yeah.
The do and ray

Carrie (52:09):
one or something.
Yes.
I look,

Kristine (52:12):
yes.
Not good here.
I thought I looked great.
I don't look good here.
Yeah.
Um, and then it just a bra attop we had, yeah.
Yeah.
The Lexie I think.
Yeah.
Which is like one of myfavorites.
Yeah.
Holy cow.
Yeah.
I don't like that photo of me.
Yeah.
I'd rather not look at that everagain.
So

Carrie (52:31):
that is the night that we went.
So we must've gone to the pianobar.
It was this night as well thatJace took the

Kristine (52:36):
phone.
Jace always does weird shit inthe elevator.
Like he's he'll, speaking ofstealing he'll.
Oh yeah.
And we went up here.
Oh yeah, that was fun.
Yeah.
So we, uh, Jace always takes, like, if there's a food and
beverage cart in the hallway,he'll always go put it in front
of somebody's door.
So if they open the door, theywalk into it.
He's such a, we've talked beforeabout how Yeah.

(52:58):
He's a shit disturber.
Yeah.
He is such a shit.
Disturber.
Yeah.
Uh, there was a phone in thehotel, like on one of the end
tables by the elevators, and hetook the, the phone and.
He put it in the elevator and hewas pretending to call people
and yeah, he

Carrie (53:11):
plugged it into his drink.
Yeah, it's my favorite part.
He does weird sun shit.
So that, that's the night Jasonand I went to Juul, so yeah, you
were just tired and so feet, feet, feet were exhausted.
Feet.
And I was like, well, I wanna gosomewhere.
And Jason's like, yeah, let's godownstairs.
And then we wandered down toJuul.
And So is Juul the one in thearia?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I was wearing like abodysuit, but it has like, kind

(53:36):
of like a sheer top.
Yeah.
And they wouldn't let me in

Kristine (53:40):
with like lace details.
Yeah.
So it did cover but not ahundred percent.
Yeah.
Of where it needed to be coveredfor their liking apparently.

Carrie (53:49):
Yeah.
He, so we got to the front ofthe line and he's like, yeah,
sorry, you, you can't have yournipples showing.
And I was like, stunned.
And I was like, oh.
I'm like, that's okay.
I have a bra in my purse becauseI was worried that I was going
to get out and about and thelights were gonna be on me and
that you were actually gonna beable to see through my top

(54:10):
right.
Which you couldn't.
But um, so I went behind theescalator.
Around the corner.
Yeah.
And I changed into my bralet andthen put my top back up.
It's

Kristine (54:18):
so funny because you couldn't even see like your
nipples.
No.
It was like areola ever soslightly.
Mm-hmm.
Like you could see like thecoloring.
It wasn't like, and it's

Carrie (54:26):
Vegas.
Yeah.
Like it's Vegas.
Yeah.
So weird.
But yeah.
So anyways, so we went there, freeze Nip had some

Kristine (54:34):
drinks, we went dancing.
Danced.
Good for

Carrie (54:37):
you.
Yeah.
And we just like people watched.

Kristine (54:39):
Yeah.
So this year I promised Carriethat I would go clubbing.
I will get a foot massage beforeyou're gonna make it.
I'm gonna make it.
I actually told Jordan today atphysio.
I said, Jordan, we're gonna haveto probably do some serious
physio when I get back fromVegas.
'cause I'm gonna be dancing, I'mgoing clubbing.
Yeah.
And,

Carrie (54:58):
uh, you're gonna make it.
Yeah.
You know what, but every trip, there's always one night that
you don't make it.
I,

Kristine (55:03):
well, I either drink too much Yeah.
Or my feet swell up likeballoons.
Yeah.
And they and they do that in theheat.
Yeah.
Always have.
Always.
Well, you and Nick are just likethe sleepy bears.

Carrie (55:13):
We like to sleep.
You just like to go to bed andyou guys like to get up early
and go get coffee.
Yeah.
And she and I don't,

Kristine (55:18):
yeah.
I'll meet Nick at the, at thecoffee bar downstairs.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So we're the same.
Yeah.
And that's fine.
But I promised it's gonna happenand I want to go.
And I've always wanted to go,like when you and I went, we had
the best time.
Yeah.
So much fun.
I just.
And also like last year, Iwasn't sleeping very well.
Um, and I mean, it hasn't gottenbetter, but mm-hmm.

(55:41):
I'll be fine excuses, Christine.
Mm-hmm.
You'll be fine.
Yeah, I'll be fine.
It's gonna be good.
So next, uh, in a coupleepisodes, you'll, you guys will
get the update.
Did Christine go clubbing?
Did she not, did she make it?
How swollen were her feet?
She's, I'm gonna have to go by,I actually was thinking last
night I need to go find somelike flats.
Oh yeah.

(56:01):
Um, because if we can't wearsneakers, yeah.
I'm gonna, I can't wear heels'cause I will not make it.
I need to find some sort offootwear that I can actually get
