Kristine (00:07):
Hey, it's Christine and Carrie and we're

Carrie (00:09):
best friends and we are the owners of Lavender and Lace
Boutique, an online women'sboutique based out of Sherwood
Park, Alberta.
And we started a podcast, uh,just to hear ourselves talk.

Kristine (00:19):
Welcome to Two Babes Podcast.
Welcome.
All right.
Should we just deep dive in?
Let's just do it.

Carrie (00:26):
Okay.
So, uh, we are going to betaking a little podcast hiatus.

Kristine (00:33):
A little podcast nappy nap.
A little snoozer.
We

Carrie (00:39):
have hit the point where we just don't have time to do
these during the week.
Um, for a lot of reasons.
First one being...
Let's list them off.
Oh gosh.
Um, so when we started thepodcast, we didn't know that our
social media manager would beleaving shortly after.

(01:01):
Honestly, while we have the mostamazing team right now, we're
still down a full person in thatteam and Christine and I, I
don't want to say we're pickingup slack because we're not.
No.
But we have taken on newportions of our job that, to

(01:22):
assist our team.
Yes.
And probably new.
Tasks that will stay with us.

Kristine (01:29):
We're essentially doing a lot of job sharing.
Yeah.
And we're a little bit stretched

Carrie (01:34):
thin.
We are.
And, you know, a lot of thestuff we're doing.
You know, like I said, it'sprobably going to be our job for
a while.
Totes, yep.
Or forever.
Yes.
One of the two.
But we just need to get into anew groove and our business is
still our number one priority.

Kristine (01:52):
100%.
So.
Which is why we're just.
Just being completelytransparent and honest with you
guys and just explainingourselves.
Um, although I know we don'tneed to because you guys just
really understand us in so manydifferent ways and we are so
grateful for you.
Um, we just, we wanted to beauthentic and honest.

(02:17):
So that's kind of where we're atright now.

Carrie (02:18):
So you know, The, that part was a really big for us,
but we also found that insteadof, you know, having time to
record this podcast, we werejust slamming out episodes that
we didn't have time to thinkabout.
We didn't have time to, youknow, um, discuss.
It just, uh, you know, it's justbeen.

(02:40):
Yeah,

Kristine (02:41):
it's something that we don't want to get rid of forever
and we want to bring it back.
So we're just taking a littlepausey pause.

Carrie (02:48):
And we don't want to like just, you know, like do the
episodes just for the sake ofdoing them.
Yeah.
Because

Kristine (02:53):
that's...
And we want to do itauthentically, and we don't want
to do it with stress in mind oron our shoulders because we have
a lot going on right now, and wedon't want it to be the tipping
point because it's somethingthat we thoroughly, genuinely
enjoy.
Yeah, we

Carrie (03:09):
do.
So it's just one, you know,Christine and I the other day, I
looked at her and I'm like, Ithink the podcast has to go for
a bit.
You know, it wasn't even adiscussion.
It was like, yeah, yeah, becauseit just isn't fitting into our
day right now.
No.
And, um, you know, our businessneeds our focus because we are

(03:29):
going into our busy

Kristine (03:30):
season and without our business, there would be no
podcast.
Correct.
Correct.
We, uh, we just have to put our,we have to put a hundred.
We're 110 percent into ourbusiness right now, so we can
come back to this with, um, agood head on our shoulders
because like I said, there's alot of stress going on in our
life right now.
If we continue doing this, wewouldn't be doing it, um,

(03:53):
properly and I feel like youguys would be able to feel the
negatives

Carrie (03:58):
on it.
So, yeah, and we can't, we can'tlet our business suffer because
of this.
Like, I love the podcast, I loveit, but at the end of the day,
it, it, it's not what Thank you.
Makes money and pays the billsand exactly

Kristine (04:09):
staff.
Yes.
100%.

Carrie (04:11):
You know, so that's where that's going and we're
going to miss you guys, butstill follow us on Instagram.
Yes.
We'll still post on there.
Yes.

Kristine (04:19):
And we also want to mention that we are going to
continue our book club as ofright now.
Yeah.
Um, we do have a book, um,underway right now.
It's called the perfectmarriage.
If you haven't had a chance toread it, yeah.
Pick it up because it's, it is agood one.
Um, and we're going to continuethat.
We still have that episodeplanned for the 24th of

(04:39):
September.
Um, and then we're just going totake it day by day.
And if we are able to getanother book out for you guys,
great.
But, um, if we're not able todo, let's say October or
November, whichever, um, It'snot because we don't want to,
it's just because we have a lotgoing on.

(05:01):
Um, October for myselfpersonally is going to be a
schmozzle of a month.
So I, like, you know, I can'tguarantee anything.

Carrie (05:10):
No.
So we're just, we're doing thebest we can.
And it's, you know, this reallygoes back to the third episode,
which still to this day is ourmost popular episode ever about
balance.
You guys.
Like, this is just real life.
This is just authentically whathappens and Christine and I
aren't beating ourselves upabout it.
We're not, you know, we're notit is what it is And you know,

(05:34):
you have to recognize what isimportant and at this current
juncture in our life Yeah, thisis the one thing that had to go
this

Kristine (05:41):
Current this time in our season of life, it

Carrie (05:44):
just, this season does not allow for the podcast
recording.

Kristine (05:47):
And it's, yeah, it's a bummer.
It's a real bummer, but we'regoing to have so many great
things at LLB that I feel likeyou guys are going to be happy
with a little bit of a trade offright now.
I agree.
And Karina is so much morepresent in our social media that
I feel like that kind of helps.
Do you guys still have thatpersonal feel with us?

(06:11):
If it's not here, it's there.

Carrie (06:12):
Yeah, I agree.
It'll be good.
I 100 percent agree.
It'll be good.
Yeah, I think so too.
It's going to be great.
It is going to be

Kristine (06:20):
great.
Let, and we'll still documentour, uh, walk experiences on two
days.

Carrie (06:25):
Oh yeah, we're going on one tonight, so.
Yeah,

Kristine (06:29):
I'm so excited.
We've been literally talkingabout it all day long, about our
walks.
We're like, fuck, what time isit?
Like, I want to go.

Carrie (06:36):
100%, it's all I'm thinking about.
Like.
If I didn't have work to do, I'dalready be there, right, you
know,

Kristine (06:44):
yeah, that would be fun.
So yeah, that's where we're atright now.
But follow us along on our twobabes.
Podcast, Instagram, follow alongon our personal Instagrams,

Carrie (06:54):
um, and Lavender and Lace.
Because, you know, if you followLavender and Lace Boutique on
Instagram, you might notice howour social media has been like
killing it lately.
Fire.
Fire.
Yeah.
Um.

Kristine (07:07):
Our social media team has like blossomed.

Carrie (07:11):
Yes.
It's over the last month and ahalf.
Like their

Kristine (07:14):
creativity is out of control.
They are just geniuses.
Mm

Carrie (07:22):
hmm.
They're, yeah.
They are so happy.
Yeah.
So follow us there because it'spretty cool and, you know,
Christine and I made a prettyfunny reel today.
So funny.

Kristine (07:32):
It's gonna be posted soon.
Very soon within the next day ortwo.
Yeah for sure It's a littlesneak peek if you like those.
So

Carrie (07:40):
yeah, so we're we're sad to say goodbye, but it's not
goodbye It's see you soon.
Yeah.
See you later.
See you later And I know youguys are going to be sad, but
please don't make us more sad.
And please don't make us feelbad because we already, we know.

Kristine (07:59):
Yeah, we didn't take the decision lightly.
No.
So,

Carrie (08:03):
please don't.
No.

Kristine (08:04):
Don't say mean things or we will block you.

Carrie (08:07):
Yes.
Yeah.
Seriously.
For real.
Um, because this was a, like,it's something we definitely
both knew was coming for awhile.
And then when I said it outloud, yes, the other day, I
think it was just like, yeah, okay.
Yeah, we

Kristine (08:21):
toyed with the idea of like, maybe adjusting like, so
we would do it every month or doit every two weeks and blah,
blah, blah.
But we're like, okay, so likewhen it comes down to that in
two weeks, are we actually goingto have a plan?
Are we going to be continued tobe

Carrie (08:35):
stressed out?
Yeah, no, there's no, there'sno, there's just no, no room at
the end here.
No,

Kristine (08:40):
and it's something that we, um, Can look forward to
down the road again.

Carrie (08:44):
Yeah, and you guys, you know what, in the new year,
which is, I'm assuming, whenwe're gonna start back up, you
can be excited for season two.
And we'll probably drop threeepisodes the first week, or
whatever, like, you know?
Season two.

Kristine (08:55):
Oh, that's so nice.
We're like the Kardashians.
We are.
Yeah.
I

Carrie (08:59):
mean, but better.

Kristine (09:00):
Yeah, obviously.
Pfft.
Naturally.
Yeah.
We're actually more natural.

Carrie (09:03):
Yeah.
Yeah, I even took my extensionsout.
Yeah, you sure did.
Like, I've hit that level of mylife where I just don't even
have time to maintain myextensions anymore.
Yeah.
Right?

Kristine (09:13):
So, they had to go too.
We don't even do our Mondaynight blow, or Monday blowouts
anymore.
No.
Like, we just don't havefreaking time.
So,

Carrie (09:20):
like, that had to go.
My extensions are gone.
Like, you know?
Yeah.
We're just, we're, you know?
Yeah, we're just doing day byday.
We're in the season of our liferight now.

Kristine (09:31):
And it's quite the season.
It is.

Carrie (09:33):
But it's been, you know, I feel very accomplished at the
end of the day most days.
Yeah.
You

Kristine (09:37):
know?
Me too.
Totally.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Um, I just wanted to say, we didsay on our live the other day
that we were gonna promise thatwe were gonna do a quick, just
what we thought about theconcerts that we had.
Oh, okay.
We did promise that.
So it's gonna be very, very, very, very, very brief.
Okay, so we, Carrie and I wentto the Chicks the other night,
and we, um, briefly talked aboutit on the Monday Night Live, and

(10:00):
we said we'd, you know, spillthe beans.
We didn't like it.
I hated it.

Carrie (10:04):
Yes.
I actually hated the concert.
Yeah, so

Kristine (10:07):
this, the singing, they did, was great.
It was, they did a great job.
However, the concert itself wasso bamboozley.
I

Carrie (10:16):
hated it.
Yeah.
There was pauses.
Awkward breaks.
Awkward.
So awkward.
Like the lights just went off onthe stage and then, I don't know
what they were doing, likereorganizing the stage, which is
fine, but like, so often, inbetween every song there was a
weird pause.
They sang their new album from2020, which I knew one song off
of.
I knew more because we listenedto it the week before.

(10:38):
More than half of their songswere new.
And like, that's not what I'mhere for.
I'm here to relive my my glorydays.
Okay?
And that's what I wanted.
I wanted to dance.
And relive it and I couldn't andno joke, you guys, if I hadn't
popped gummies at the before theshow, I probably would have
left.

Kristine (10:58):
The reason why I had a time of my life is because that
we had the gummies and I waswith my best friend.
But let me tell you, otherwise,I felt like I was just sitting
through their political agenda.
Yeah, it was just

Carrie (11:09):
a lot for me.
It was

Kristine (11:10):
too much.
I'm not going to get into it,but it was just too much.
And if you were there and youenjoyed it.
Awesome.
I'm glad that you enjoyed it.
Yeah.
If you were there and you hatedit, welcome to the club.
Yeah.
And if you wanted to go and younow are listening and you're
like, well, glad I didn't wastemy money.
Good for you.
Yeah.

Carrie (11:28):
Yeah.
I just, I did like Christinesaid, and I'm, we're not going
to go into it.
Whatever your beliefs are, doesn't matter to me, but like,
that's just not the time andplace.
Agreed.
Because.
You know, yeah, it just feltweird.
It did felt very pushy.
It was very pushy, which isn'tmy vibe.

Kristine (11:44):
I agree So yeah, didn't like it.
No, and a lot of people areasking about the Jonas Brothers
I'm not getting into it here, but I will do a full recap on my
stories on Instagram But let metell you it was fucking amazing
Yeah, and I'll leave

Carrie (12:01):
you with that also Um, make sure you follow two babes
because at the end of the month,we are going to go live on the
Instagram page and on our roadtrip because we're going on a
roadie.
Roadie! So, just, just throwingthat out there.
Like, we're not disappearingcompletely.
Um, and then we went to 50 Centon Monday.
Oh, did

Kristine (12:19):
we did?
That was an

Carrie (12:20):
experience.
That was an experience.
Yeah.
Wow.
Wow.
Especially because we had justbeen to the Chicks like three
nights before.
Yeah.
So the contrast.
Yes.
Of everything.
Everything.
From the crowd to the, the, thesights to see on the stage.
Yeah.

Kristine (12:38):
The show itself was, um.
Really interesting.
It was very crude and I'm notoffended by that at all.
No, I loved every moment of it.
I just wasn't really expectinghow crude it was going to be.
So it was like, it was funny.
And I was like sober.
I was the driver of the evening.

(12:59):
Yeah.
So I had it like, the experiencewas like really something I'll
hold on to.

Carrie (13:04):
You're telling me.
Yeah.
Girlfriend.
Carrie was,

Kristine (13:07):
Carrie had gummies.
Wow.
The laser beams in that, in thatconcert.

Carrie (13:11):
How did that feel?
The laser?
Like when they were in the boxesof the lasers?
I was fucking floored.

Kristine (13:17):
I was floored and I was sober.
Like I couldn't imagine being inyour

Carrie (13:21):
shoes.
I was just, I was Like, but Iwas in that concert with them.
Oh yeah.
I was in the lyrics.
They were me.
I was them.
We were one.

Kristine (13:30):
I was, I was watching you a few times because like, I
knew how intense the lasers andstuff were for me.
So I was like looking at you andI'm like, how are you even
living right now?
Because like, that was so

Carrie (13:41):
intense.
One time.
So.
My husband didn't want to go.
He like just wasn't interestedand he wasn't from the beginning
and then a couple weeks ago He'slike Carrie.
I just don't want to go to thisconcert.
Please don't make me yeah, andso I ended up taking my
husband's best friend and At onepoint I turned to him and I was
like, I don't know how to behere anymore He's like, are you
okay?

(14:01):
I'm like, oh, I'm fine.
Wow Like my senses were justoverwhelmed.
Yes overloaded

Kristine (14:08):
All my

Carrie (14:08):
Spidey Yeah.
Like 20 out of 10.
If Dixie Chicks was 5, this was20.
Yeah.
I just, we saw some kids thereand like if you took your kids,
that's okay.
Like that's, that's great.
But like there were strippers upon stage.
Like

Kristine (14:24):
strippin

Carrie (14:25):
Yeah, like they were, they were half naked.
And there were some...
Booty shaking.
Oh, yeah, like it just it wasn'tappropriate for me.

Kristine (14:33):
No, no, there was this little one She was like maybe
six or seven.
She was wearing a frickinunicorn t shirt t shirt and
She's watching the strippers.
It was just a wild wild.
It was a wild

Carrie (14:46):
world Yeah, I mean

Kristine (14:48):
like you do you you You are, you do you with your
family, whatever, but let me

Carrie (14:54):
tell you, I was thinking about that child the whole time.
The whole time.
I'm like her, her eyes, her

Kristine (15:00):
eyes, do you know what?
And for me, like, I don't wantto deal with the questions
after, right?
Like I don't want to, mommy, whywas she shaking her booty?
Why was her?
Pretty much her booty holeshowing like yeah, it's a no

Carrie (15:13):
for me though.
Mom, why did that one rap guybury his face in her vagina?
And that actually happened.
It did happen on top of a piano.
Like why did he do that mom?
What was that about?
Yeah.
Not wanting to get into thatever.

Kristine (15:26):
No, it's a no for me.
I wonder how long they likeactually stayed for.

Carrie (15:31):
I don't know.
Like I also wondered that.
I had so many queries.
Like did she leave?

Kristine (15:36):
Did she be like, oh no, this is not for you.
Yeah.
Sally!

Carrie (15:40):
Yeah, it was a wild time, but such a good show.

Kristine (15:43):
So good.
Yeah.
But yeah.
Would do again.
Oh, yeah.
10 out of 10 for me.
Like, that was great.
But yeah, it was quite theexperience.
So,

Carrie (15:51):
um, we're gonna say goodbye now.
