Let's do it.
Kristine (00:23):
Okay.
We're gonna jump into, um,episode number four.
Carrie (00:25):
Yep.
Kristine (00:26):
And, uh, it's a really
good one.
We have a guest today and we'regonna start off with, uh, how we
do things around here, the, howyou doing Carrie, what'd you do
this weekend?
Give me that whole spiel.
Carrie (00:36):
Yeah, so my weekend was
really good.
It was quite chill, which isnice.
Saturday, we spent the whole dayin the pool.
We had some guests over.
They're fine, I guess.
Kristine (00:45):
Oh, I hear they never
leave.
Carrie (00:47):
They never leave.
No.
You have to kick'em out.
And uh, that was just kind ofour Saturday, Sunday, we.
Chilled.
It was so nice.
Kristine (00:57):
I love that.
Carrie (00:57):
It was so nice.
I got all my stuff done onFriday cuz it was my day off and
so Sunday I just didn't have to.
Kristine (01:03):
Good.
Carrie (01:03):
Yeah.
How about you?
Kristine (01:05):
This weekend was busy.
Carrie (01:06):
Yeah, you were busy.
Kristine (01:07):
It was really busy.
So, as you know, um, Carrie, noteverybody else, um, Scarlet had
her very first gym competitionthat was on Friday.
So typically Fridays are my dayto kind of do things around the
house, et cetera, et cetera.
But we were busy with hercompetition, um, which.
She killed it.
Um, I'll tell everybody soproud.
(01:27):
Um, so like I said, it was herfirst competition, but she plays
second in every event.
Carrie (01:32):
Good.
Kristine (01:32):
Which is so cool.
And, uh, came home with fivemedals and I, I just wanted one.
Mm-hmm.
Like, I knew, I thought I, in myheart and soul, I thought she
was gonna do well on bars, butshe killed it in everything.
So that was really cool.
so that was our Friday.
We came home.
and, uh, just kind of chilledSaturday.
We hung out, uh, with thesepeople that I don't actually
(01:52):
think, I don't think they likeus very much.
Carrie (01:55):
No, they don't.
I've heard.
Kristine (01:56):
Yeah.
Um, I feel kind of awkward, likethey're trying to like, kick me
out often, but it's fine.
We, we stayed anyway.
Definitely.
We ate their food.
Yep.
drank their booze.
You should go there actually.
Yeah.
Carrie (02:07):
Yeah.
It's, I, I've been there.
It's my house.
Yeah.
Kristine (02:11):
Yeah, so we hung out
with, you guys obviously stayed
in the pool for far too long.
Um, it was so much fun
Carrie (02:17):
that this is pretty much
gonna be the theme of every
summer episode is Saturday isgonna be pool.
Kristine (02:23):
Yeah.
It was a lot of fun and like thekids were dead tired, so they
didn't even wanna hang out withus.
They just relaxed and like didtheir own thing and it was
peaceful and it was such a vibe.
Yeah, that was, that's so nice.
I think I'm gonna put that inthe, one of my favorite days
category.
Carrie (02:39):
That's good.
Sunday.
Kristine (02:41):
Yeah.
Sunday.
That was Saturday.
Well, that was Saturday.
That was Saturday, so Oh, yeah.
Sunday.
Yeah.
This is the day.
This is the day where I did Jackshit.
Yeah.
It was lovely.
Like I made about 50 pancakes.
I actually wrote that down.
50 pancakes.
Um, I watched all the TV shows, like basically until my eyes
were bleeding, I made cookiesand then that's it.
(03:01):
And then I watched more shows, but we'll get into that when we
talk about our books and stuff.
That was my weekend.
Carrie (03:06):
That's so nice.
Kristine (03:06):
It was a good one.
Carrie (03:08):
It really was.
It really was.
Kristine (03:09):
Like I, I had a busy
Friday, busy like fun, jazzy
Saturday, and then did nothingon Sunday.
It was awesome.
That's great.
10 outta 10.
Mm-hmm.
Put that one on the list too.
Carrie (03:20):
I love it.
Kristine (03:21):
Yeah.
Carrie (03:21):
Are you reading anything
right now?
You got anything on the go?
Kristine (03:23):
I am I am reading.
Finally, I'm back to it.
So I read the, um, novella thatyou were talking about last
episode.
what was that the title of thenovella again?
the One night
Carrie (03:34):
That One Night.
Kristine (03:35):
I read that one night.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I read that, loved it.
Delicious.
Um, and then I'm now reading thePucking Around.
and I think that it's great.
Yeah,
Carrie (03:44):
it is really good.
Kristine (03:45):
I'm only like, Five,
maybe six chapters in, but I'm
really digging it already.
Carrie (03:51):
Yeah.
It's by Emily Wrath, in caseanyone's wondering.
But we'll also include all ofour book titles and authors in
the description of the episodeso you can reference back.
Kristine (04:00):
Yeah, it's really good
so far.
Carrie (04:02):
Good.
Kristine (04:02):
So I also love a good
dirty romance.
Mm-hmm.
So this, I'm really excited forit to get into the meat potatoes
of it all.
Carrie (04:08):
Yeah.
Kristine (04:09):
but otherwise, I
finished up a lot of my TV shows
this weekend.
Um, I watched the last episodeof XO Kitty.
It's like a high school drama, but it's set in Korea.
It's really good.
I binge watched the new seasonof, never Have I Ever So Good.
Loved it.
I watched a few episodes ofManifest.
Mm-hmm.
(04:29):
This is all on Sunday.
Carrie (04:31):
Yeah.
Kristine (04:31):
All
Carrie (04:31):
you were busy,
Kristine (04:32):
busy, busy watching
everything.
Carrie (04:34):
Busy in quotations.
Kristine (04:35):
Yeah.
And then I started, five FeetApart, movie.
That's really good.
That was that.
That was it.
What about you?
What are you reading?
What are you watching?
Carrie (04:42):
Okay, so I didn't watch
any TV this weekend at all.
I don't even think I turned theTV on
Kristine (04:45):
opposite Sally's over
here.
Carrie (04:46):
Yeah.
Um, when I'm really into books,I don't even give a second
glance Yeah.
To the tv.
Like, it just doesn't matter tome.
Nick on Sunday was like, Hey, doyou wanna watch this to me?
I was like, uh, no, no.
Um, okay, so I'm reading MileHigh by Liz Tom Ford.
It's about a flight attendantand she works on a private
charter plane of, uh, NHL team.
Kristine (05:08):
Yeah.
Carrie (05:09):
Yeah.
It's really good.
So there's one of the players,he's kind of like the bad boy.
He's like the playboy of theteam and he's into her and she
hates him.
Kristine (05:19):
Oh.
Carrie (05:19):
she just doesn't like
his personality like persona,
but he's slowly winning herover, which I love.
She really has been.
She was trying to resist.
I'm like, I'm 50% through thebook and like, They're just, you
know, slow burn.
Kristine (05:33):
Slow burn.
Carrie (05:34):
Really good though.
Really good.
And then I'm listening to anaudio book.
Um, it's called Ward D byFreedom McFadden.
So it is a thriller.
Kristine (05:42):
Nice.
I love the thriller.
Carrie (05:43):
I really like listening
to thrillers while I'm walking.
Mm-hmm.
I find it really.
Keeps me engaged When I'mlistening to it.
Um, versus listening to like aromance, which sometimes they're
slow and, you know,
Kristine (05:53):
it's also really
awkward.
Carrie (05:55):
Yeah.
Kristine (05:55):
To hear the dirty,
Carrie (05:57):
when they say cock out
loud, I'm like,
Kristine (06:00):
yeah.
Or like folds.
Carrie (06:02):
Yeah.
Kristine (06:02):
Like, don't say that.
Carrie (06:03):
It's just, it's a lot.
And when they're dirty, talkingeach with each other on the,
it's just a lot for me.
So I had to stop with my seriesthat I was listening to.
I'll read it.
Kristine (06:15):
Yeah.
Carrie (06:16):
But, so it's called Ward
D by Freedom McFadden.
It's about, uh, resident doctor.
She's doing her rotation in thepsychiatric ward at the
hospital.
Kristine (06:24):
Nice.
Carrie (06:24):
And it's called Word D
and she has a past with Word D
Oh.
From like her, like past life.
Kristine (06:30):
Oh.
Carrie (06:31):
But.
We're just getting there.
Okay.
So the book kind of goes presentand past, back and forth, and
every present chapter, it's like11 hours till morning, 12 hours
till morning or whatever, because it's, it's the middle of
the night.
She's doing the night shift, andthen it'll flash back to eight
years prior and then it'll comeback and it'll be like nine
hours till morning.
(06:51):
Yeah.
It's really good.
Kristine (06:52):
Okay.
Carrie (06:53):
So the whole book is
just one night, like, I think.
Okay.
I mean, it's still nine hourstill morning and I'm almost
halfway through, so I need toknow more.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay, cool.
And so she's really freaked outand the power just went out and
I don't know
Kristine (07:08):
how far are you into
the book?
Carrie (07:09):
Like half half,
half-ish.
Kristine (07:11):
Okay.
Carrie (07:11):
It's really good.
Okay.
Yeah.
Excited.
Could you try again?
Oh, Siri.
It was me this time.
So that is what my reads myaudio read and my Kindle read
right now.
Kristine (07:27):
That's awesome.
Carrie (07:27):
Yeah.
Kristine (07:28):
They sound like good
books.
Carrie (07:29):
They're both really
good.
Yeah.
I really like Freedom McFadden.
She, wrote the Housemaid
Kristine (07:33):
okay.
Carrie (07:33):
Yeah.
So I already knew, I liked herwriting style, so it was an easy
one for me.
And on the Hoopla app, which iswhat I use, she has like 10
books on there, so Oh, nice.
Whole summer.
Yeah.
Audio books.
Mm-hmm.
Kristine (07:44):
Nice.
Cool.
Carrie (07:45):
Yeah.
What else we got on here?
I think, uh, that's it for me.
That's it for me too.
I think I did it.
Kristine (07:51):
Well, should we dive
right in?
Carrie (07:52):
Yeah.
So, We have Sarah here.
She is our operations manager atLavender Lace Boutique, and we
asked her a while ago if she'dbe our first guest and she said
yes.
And I feel like she has someregrets now, but that's okay.
That's, it's gonna be such agood one.
Okay,
Kristine (08:07):
let's do it.
Welcome, Sarah.
Sarah (08:08):
Hi,
Carrie (08:09):
how are you?
Sarah (08:10):
Good.
How are you guys?
Carrie (08:11):
We're good.
Um, so tell us a little bitabout you.
Sarah (08:14):
Okay, so this is not my
voice.
I don't, uh, feel the besttoday,
Carrie (08:18):
but she's still here.
She's trucking through.
Sarah (08:20):
Yeah.
Um, so I am Sarah.
I have worked here for the lastfour years almost.
Mm-hmm.
Um, I'm a wife.
I have two kids.
I have a husband that we've beenmarried for the last 14 years,
almost 14 years.
Sorry, almost.
Carrie (08:38):
Did you get married in
2009?
Sarah (08:39):
Yeah.
Carrie (08:39):
Yeah.
Me too.
Yeah.
Sarah (08:41):
In December.
Winter.
Winter wedding.
Kristine (08:43):
September,
Sarah (08:45):
December.
Yeah.
what else about me?
I was born and raised in FortMcMurray.
Kristine (08:51):
Nice.
Carrie (08:51):
Yeah, that's, you have a
son that's going into high
school.
Sarah (08:54):
Yeah.
Carrie (08:54):
That's, that's weird.
Sarah (08:55):
Very scary.
Mm-hmm.
High school.
And then my daughter is goinginto junior high, so,
Carrie (09:01):
It feels weird cuz you
and I are the same age.
Yeah.
And I just can't imagine havinga kid in high school.
Kristine (09:05):
No.
So, no, I'm not ready for that.
Barely ready for a seven yearold.
Like, guess what?
I have one.
Sarah (09:11):
And like one of his
options is aviation.
Like he could potentially fly aplane at some point in like the
near future, which is
Carrie (09:17):
Oh, that's really cool.
Kristine (09:18):
That is cool.
So cool.
Sarah (09:19):
But like weird.
Kristine (09:21):
I could see that.
Sarah (09:22):
Yeah,
Kristine (09:22):
I could see that for
him.
Yeah.
I mean, I also see a lot ofathletic
Sarah (09:27):
Yeah.
Kristine (09:27):
In his, uh,
athleticism in his future.
But yeah.
Cool.
Sarah (09:31):
Currently, this is the
longest I haven't checked my
email in like all day today.
I'm waiting to see if you'd madea team.
So fingers crossed.
Kristine (09:41):
Fingers and toes
crossed.
Sarah (09:43):
Yeah.
So that's,
Carrie (09:44):
that's you
Sarah (09:45):
a little bit about me
Carrie (09:46):
and you're always busy.
Sarah (09:47):
I was gonna say, if I'm
not here, I'm driving my car.
I'm a.
Operations manager and achauffeur.
Kristine (09:55):
Sarah's kids are
extremely busy with sports.
Um, they do multiple sportseach.
So they're, you guys areconstantly on the road.
Sarah (10:05):
We are.
Kristine (10:05):
Well, are you counting
down the days until 16 so he can
get his own car.
Yeah.
Sarah (10:10):
But then like there comes
like insurance.
Kristine (10:14):
Yeah.
Sarah (10:14):
And like All that aspect
that I'm not excited for and
Kristine (10:17):
like the scary thing.
So being like responsible andbeing on the road and like all
that good stuff like that.
That's a whole other thing.
Sarah (10:23):
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a little, it's a littleintimidating.
Carrie (10:25):
I agree.
Yeah.
I'm not ready for that.
No, no.
Kristine (10:29):
We have a few years to
go.
Carrie (10:31):
Yeah.
Brooke's, Brooke's more thanhalfway there.
Kristine (10:34):
That's crazy.
Carrie (10:35):
Yeah.
Kristine (10:36):
Well, I am like
excited, for her to do those
things.
Cause like, you know, auntieneeds a pickup.
Come get me babe.
Carrie (10:43):
Right?
Kristine (10:45):
Yeah.
Okay.
Carrie (10:46):
So How did you start
here and like how did you get
here to your operations managerrole?
Sarah (10:51):
Well, I am not an
operations manager.
I have not gone to school forit.
Mm-hmm.
I'm actually, um, well, notanymore, but I was a massage
therapist, so
Carrie (11:00):
You still are sometimes.
Sarah (11:01):
Well, so yeah.
I'm pretty sure that's why youguys hired, hired me, so, yeah.
Kristine (11:05):
Yeah, that's pretty
much true.
Carrie (11:07):
I mean, it definitely,
it was definitely a tick in your
favor.
Sarah (11:10):
Yeah.
Um, so yeah, I started likeSeptember four years ago.
Mm-hmm.
Almost four years ago.
Um, I did not like working inmassage therapy anymore.
I loved every aspect of it.
Um, the last job that I worked,I had a shitty manager.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Like a shitty manager.
And I was like, you know what?
(11:31):
No.
Kristine (11:31):
It's such a difference
when you have a good manager
versus craps stick.
Carrie (11:37):
Mm-hmm.
Kristine (11:38):
So I feel you.
Mm-hmm.
Sarah (11:40):
And I knew I needed a
change and, and not, not that I
knew that this was gonna be thechange.
No.
But, um, I tried working as anEA for a little bit and then
education cuts and I was out.
Kristine (11:53):
Yeah.
Sarah (11:53):
And then I saw your
posting and I think it was in
the insiders group,
Carrie (11:57):
maybe.
Yeah.
Probably
Kristine (11:59):
likely.
And it said like, Must enjoynineties music or something
stupid on it.
Carrie (12:04):
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's good.
That's how, that's how we usedto hire people.
Really professional.
Kristine (12:08):
Yeah.
We all, we stopped that only acouple years back.
Right, right.
Carrie (12:11):
It hasn't been long.
No.
Kristine (12:13):
Also, I wanted to
mention, cuz we forgot to
mention this at the beginning ofour live mm-hmm.
Today.
We did a giveaway,
Carrie (12:18):
our live
Kristine (12:18):
or live.
See, when you're used to one joband you get a second one, AKA
the podcast, um, we forgot tomention that we had a giveaway
going on Instagram and Facebook.
Um, and we're gonna announcethose winners at the end of the
podcast.
So Yeah, you gotta hang on.
Carrie (12:37):
Yeah.
You gotta wait.
Yeah, you gotta wait it
Kristine (12:39):
out.
Okay.
Back to you Sarah.
Carrie (12:42):
And then you applied
Sarah (12:43):
And I applied.
Yep.
I actually sent a screenshot ofit to I think my friend Janelle,
and I said, should I, and shesaid, you should.
And.
I don't even know.
Carrie (12:52):
And it was not a job for
an operations manager, just so
everybody knows.
Sarah (12:55):
No, it was for local
pickup.
Yeah.
It was, uh, packing orders yeah.
Order packer, uh, entry levelposition.
Mm-hmm.
And I thought, what are mychances?
Like That's fine.
Kristine (13:07):
How was the Interview
process?
Mm-hmm.
Like were you expecting likesuit and ties or were you
expecting what you got?
Sarah (13:18):
Definitely not suit and
ties cuz you guys don't sell
suit and ties.
So No, no.
It wasn't suit and ties.
I, I honestly had no idea what Iwas walking into Cuz you guys
are like Sherwood Parkcelebrities.
Kristine (13:32):
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just took a sip of my coffee.
I was, I was gonna spit it out.
Yeah.
Sarah (13:36):
Yeah.
So you were celebrities.
So I was really nervous.
I don't think I'd ever, I thinkI came to one warehouse sale and
I don't even think either of youwere.
Working it at that point.
Oh, I think you were like havinglunch
Carrie (13:50):
or something.
Like, oh, probably
Kristine (13:52):
sometimes we duck out.
Carrie (13:53):
Sounds like us.
Kristine (13:53):
Yeah.
Sarah (13:54):
You weren't even there.
Mm-hmm.
And um, yeah, so that was likemy first time seeing you in
person.
I was quite nervous and I stoodat the, the front for a little
bit.
I remember that.
And I was like, oh no.
Do I go back there?
Do I mm-hmm.
There's no bell.
Like no one heard nothing.
Carrie (14:08):
No, we had nothing.
We weren't very, I mean, we'restill not very professional, but
we especially weren't then.
Sarah (14:14):
And, uh, yeah.
Carrie (14:15):
So
Kristine (14:15):
still don't have a
bell.
Sarah (14:16):
And I remember you guys
were sitting on your office
chairs and I sat on like thelittle low couch.
Mm-hmm.
Oh God.
Mm-hmm.
I was so nervous.
and I'm pretty sure you like, move stuff off
Carrie (14:24):
the couch for me to sit.
Oh, probably.
Probably.
Sarah (14:26):
Which should have been
like a
Kristine (14:28):
red flag.
Carrie (14:31):
You should see our
office now.
It's, it's, it's worse.
Kristine (14:34):
We still move crap off
the couch for you.
Sarah (14:36):
I know.
Yeah.
I appreciate it.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah,
Kristine (14:38):
we don't change.
Consistency
Sarah (14:40):
is key.
Yeah.
And that about the interview, like, I don't remember exact
details, but I remember I said Iliked like Marie Condo.
I think I was watching.
I think that was a big thing.
Then I was like, I love foldingclothes.
Really small.
Kristine (14:53):
Stop it.
That's I love.
Funny and did you actually enjoyfolding clothes?
Really small?
Like were you actually doingthat?
Sarah (15:03):
Yeah.
Or was I was, yeah.
Kristine (15:04):
Okay, cool.
Sarah (15:05):
I wasn't lying.
Kristine (15:06):
Nice.
I I'm pretty positive we askedif she liked coffee.
Absolutely.
Carrie (15:10):
We always asked.
Yeah.
Yeah, because when Andrea saidshe didn't lock coffee, we were
like,
Kristine (15:13):
oh shit, maybe we
shouldn't hire her.
Carrie (15:16):
I know.
Hire her on the spot and emailedme like,
Sarah (15:18):
when you did offer me the
job, you were like, what?
What's your coffee?
Mm-hmm.
What was your coffee for thefirst day?
Was it still a blonde b latte
Carrie (15:25):
then?
Sarah (15:26):
No, I think, oh,
actually, I don't know.
I should probably look it up.
It's probably my email still.
Carrie (15:29):
Yeah.
I'm curious.
Kristine (15:30):
That's funny.
Carrie (15:31):
I'm curious cuz Yeah,
we, on people's first days we
used to bring coffee I think.
I think it was just an excusefor us to go to Starbucks.
Kristine (15:39):
Absolutely.
Carrie (15:40):
Yeah.
Kristine (15:41):
We tried, well we
don't an excuse anymore, we just
go, yeah, they know us by namenow.
Yeah.
These two morons, again,
Carrie (15:49):
they're coming,
Kristine (15:51):
they don't dunno how
to park.
We often, I often park outsideof the lines, especially when I
pull into that one Starbucksthat we go to.
It just like the parking lot isridiculous so you can't park
properly.
And Carrie was driving her likesuper beautiful car that's, you
cannot replace it or replace theparts.
So Carrie was very far from thecurb the other day so far.
(16:14):
But that's okay.
They probably,
Carrie (16:16):
like I told you, if if
like I should have the passport
in the glove box cuz if I hitsomething like, oh yeah.
Kristine (16:21):
Oh you're fleeing,
Carrie (16:22):
I'm heading out Mexico.
Kristine (16:25):
We should passport in
bikini.
That's all we need.
Yeah.
Sarah (16:28):
Yeah.
Yeah.
What was that Thursday that Itook you to McDonald's.
Cuz you didn't wanna do thedrive thru
Carrie (16:32):
I didn't want to.
Sarah (16:32):
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Um, okay.
Yes, it was a blonde vanillalatte.
Mm.
Carrie (16:37):
Yeah.
You're nothing if notconsistent, Sarah.
Mm-hmm.
Wow.
Kristine (16:41):
Yeah.
So you started, uh, packingpickups.
Sarah (16:44):
Yes.
Kristine (16:45):
And then what?
And then how did you
Sarah (16:48):
roll?
I was trying to think of
how
long I actually lasted.
Kristine (16:52):
It wasn't long.
Carrie (16:53):
Not long.
I don't think it was long atall.
I
Sarah (16:55):
don't think I was very
good at it.
So you're probably like, let'smove her out.
Carrie (16:58):
You know, it wasn't, I
don't think it was bad.
I think you were just, I feellike Kristine and I had a
conversation like, Sarah'sreally good at X, Y, Z and you.
Would tell us how you werereally good with like iPhones
and computers and stuff.
We were like, huh.
Kristine (17:15):
Yeah.
You started like helping us outlike we would say it's tech
support.
Yeah.
And Sarah would come running.
Carrie (17:21):
She's tech support.
Kristine (17:21):
She would help us.
Yeah.
And I think that's when itreally started that we knew that
you hadn't way like yourpotential was.
Mm-hmm.
Like you had so much more togive and then we just, and then,
Carrie (17:33):
yeah.
You sat in our office,
Sarah (17:35):
like you guys got new
laptops.
Kristine (17:37):
That's right.
Mm-hmm.
Sarah (17:37):
And then you're like,
help.
I don't want to, no.
And yeah,
Carrie (17:42):
you set them up.
I set them up.
Sarah (17:44):
And then I sat at the
front desk IA for a little bit.
Carrie (17:47):
And you sat at the IKEA
table in our office for a while.
Sarah (17:49):
Yeah.
And it was really high.
Kristine (17:50):
Yeah.
Cause you started doing likeproduct entry.
Mm-hmm.
That's kind of, once you startedgetting our computer set up, you
started doing some of the thingsthat we were doing.
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (17:59):
Product entry and
descriptions and all that stuff.
Yeah.
Sarah (18:03):
Material.
Kristine (18:04):
And that's kind of how
it Oh yeah.
Sarah (18:05):
Material.
Kristine (18:05):
Right.
Everything had hundred or 95%polyester, 5% spandex mm-hmm.
And you're like, that's notright.
We need to fix them all.
Mm-hmm.
And I remember doing that.
In the live area.
Oh yeah.
On, I think I was sitting onboxes.
Carrie (18:18):
Oh, probably
Kristine (18:19):
that sounds right on
Wow.
At that kitchen table.
Right by the ampersand wall.
The original ampersand wall.
You were over there for a whiletoo.
Sarah (18:26):
I was, yeah.
Carrie (18:26):
You worked there for a
while, but
Sarah (18:27):
yeah.
Where you guys would take yourphotos?
Oh yeah.
Mm-hmm.
I would sit there and
Carrie (18:31):
while we were doing
photos.
Yeah.
And she'd put sizes and stuff.
Mm-hmm.
On a box.
You're not wrong.
I was definitely on a box cuzthere was no room for a chair.
No, no, no.
Kristine (18:40):
We were climbing over
each other at that point.
Carrie (18:41):
And then we got you your
first desk.
The little baby.
Where is that thing?
Kristine (18:46):
I feel like it got
canned.
It didn't, I think it was,
Sarah (18:49):
it came here,
Kristine (18:50):
Gibb
Sarah (18:51):
wasn't Jace using it for
a little bit.
Kristine (18:53):
Yeah.
That kind of adds up.
Carrie (18:54):
Maybe it's on the
mezzanine.
Yeah.
So then you had your littledesk.
Sarah (18:57):
My little
Carrie (18:58):
And you were there till
we moved.
Yeah.
Kristine (19:00):
Did we, did you have a
different title at that point?
Like what was, did we give you atitle there?
Sarah (19:04):
No.
No, not yet.
No.
I was the.
Like product entry.
Carrie (19:08):
Yeah.
Sarah (19:08):
Gal.
But I remember you'd just belike, oh, Sarah just doing her
Kristine (19:11):
Sarah duties.
Carrie (19:12):
Okay.
I don't think you wereoperations manager until we
moved here.
Kristine (19:15):
No, no.
I remember when we gave her thattitle.
Mm-hmm.
Here.
But I was just wondering if wegave you an actual No, I
Sarah (19:21):
don't think I
Carrie (19:21):
did.
No.
Okay.
I think everyone was justwarehouse associate.
Kristine (19:25):
Yeah.
I think so too.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Carry on.
Sarah (19:28):
Yeah.
Um, I was gonna say, what didyou guys think of me when I
interviewed?
Carrie (19:32):
Oh, I loved you.
Kristine (19:33):
That's a good
question.
Carrie (19:33):
Yeah.
We, I like, like, I just knew
Kristine (19:37):
it was a no.
a no-brainer.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
We, we knew that yourpersonality vibed mm-hmm.
With ours.
Um, and you would be a goodemployee.
Like you just stood out.
Carrie (19:48):
Yeah.
Kristine (19:48):
Sometimes we get
interviews and we're like, no,
not, not today.
Carrie (19:53):
Sometimes I can tell
before we even sit down.
Mm-hmm.
You know, you can sometimes tellwhen you're not gonna vibe with
someone.
And it's just like, It justhappens.
Mm-hmm.
But yeah, we know we liked youfrom the get-go.
It was instant.
Kristine (20:06):
I don't think it took
us very long to email you back
mm-hmm.
At all.
And to, to tell you no.
That we wanted you
Carrie (20:13):
Well we ended up hiring
two people at that time.
Yeah.
And we were like, okay, can wemake this work?
Can we, can we afford to hiretwo people?
Cuz we knew we loved both ofthem.
Which I mean hindsight, butYeah.
Shouldn't just stuck with Sarah.
But that's okay.
Yeah.
Kristine (20:32):
We uh, we, we uh,
Carrie (20:35):
we sometimes you get
bamboozled, you know
Kristine (20:38):
I was looking for that
word.
Yeah.
I was gonna say we look,
Carrie (20:41):
we got that catfished.
Kristine (20:43):
We did get catfished.
Carrie (20:44):
Yeah.
And that does happen.
You don't like, it's interestingcuz you spend whatever between
10 to 25 minutes with someoneand they're only showing you
their best self.
Of course.
I mean, no one goes into aninterview acting.
You know, like an idiot.
And
Sarah (21:02):
usually, well,
Carrie (21:03):
I mean, unless it's
Kristine and I doing the
interview and then we are theidiots.
But, um, Kristine and I aren'tallowed to do interviews
anymore, just in case anyone waswondering
Sarah (21:11):
That's me.
Kristine (21:13):
We took cut off.
Carrie (21:14):
Um, but yeah, you can,
you can really get the vibe.
But of course some people actcompletely different in
interview and then they startworking and you're like, oh, oh
boy,
Sarah (21:26):
it's happened a few
times.
Kristine (21:27):
Or like, lie a little
bit on your, on your resume,
Carrie (21:30):
which is normal.
Kristine (21:31):
Yeah.
totes I'm, I'm amazing at Excel.
Just joking.
It's terrible.
Carrie (21:36):
I told you I had an
interview.
I made up all of, did you inyour last job, do any
implementation of this?
I'm like, oh yeah, totally madethe whole thing up.
Yeah.
Like, prove me wrong.
Kristine (21:47):
I've done that.
Did that six times.
Never heard of it.
Carrie (21:51):
And are they still using
those processes?
Absolutely.
Prove me wrong.
I
Kristine (21:55):
got an award for that.
Carrie (22:00):
Wow.
Yeah.
So you know.
Yeah.
Kristine (22:02):
No, we loved you right
away.
Carrie (22:03):
Yeah.
Right away.
Kristine (22:04):
And we knew that you
were like, you were good.
Yeah.
We didn't know this.
Good, great job.
Carrie (22:09):
But within, within like
six months, we know we were
already asking you like whereyou saw yourself going.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
We had that conversation there.
Kristine (22:16):
We, there was a lot
of, uh, conversation of like,
okay, we think we, you can,Sarah could do this.
We think Sarah could do this.
Sarah could absolutely handlethis role.
Yeah.
And it was a no, like it was ano-brainer.
We knew that you could,
Carrie (22:28):
but I mean, at the time
that we kind of envisioned you
in this operations manager role,we had six people working here.
Right.
It was a lot different.
Yes.
It wasn't quite the same role atthe time, but as we've grown,
you've kind of grown with it,which is cool.
Yeah.
But yeah, we were like, we werelike, so where do you see
yourself going in the next yearor two here?
Kristine (22:48):
Yeah, that's what I
mean.
Like we didn't know No.
That this was what was gonnacome it.
Carrie (22:52):
We asked you to come to
us with some ideas.
I
Sarah (22:54):
did.
Carrie (22:54):
And none of them were
operations manager.
Sarah (22:56):
None of them were Nope.
And I was very stressed whenyou.
Offered me that.
And I was like, what if I comewith the wrong idea?
So that's why I think it wasreally broad.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Because I think it was likesomething to do with the
website.
Carrie (23:08):
Yeah.
Sarah (23:08):
Something to do with
social media.
Carrie (23:09):
Yeah.
Sarah (23:09):
And then I was like, and
then we offered you that, and
then you're like, um, no, no,
Kristine (23:14):
we see bigger.
Sarah (23:15):
Yeah, that's exactly it.
Carrie (23:17):
But we knew, I mean at
that time I could already see
where we were headed cuz we weremoving out of our warehouse
shortly and we knew that wewanted to grow a lot in the next
while.
And Christina and I knew wecouldn't handle it ourselves.
Kristine (23:32):
Oh yeah.
There's a lot we can,
Carrie (23:33):
we knew, I mean, we
can't handle much, but we knew
that there was just no feasibleway for us to continue to grow
our business.
Just the two of us.
Mm-hmm.
And we just felt like you werethe best person for the job and.
Ding.
Ding, ding.
Kristine (23:47):
Yeah, we were right.
Thanks.
Woo.
I'm fist bumping.
No one can see that.
Carrie (23:55):
I just love that.
I love the buttons.
They never get old for me.
Kristine (23:59):
Karlee was commenting
today when I passed through the
lunchroom.
She's like, I love that you guysfound that button.
She's like, it's so great.
Carrie (24:06):
We have other buttons.
Should I test one more?
Kristine (24:08):
Yeah.
Carrie (24:08):
Okay.
Hold.
Kristine (24:08):
See what we got?
Hold on,
Carrie (24:09):
hold on.
Ooh.
Kristine (24:12):
That is amazing.
I
Carrie (24:13):
should have paid that
when I was talking about word D.
That would've been the perfectmusic for that.
Yeah.
Kristine (24:17):
That's too bad.
Next time.
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
We'll talk about ghosts.
Sorry, Sarah, back to you.
Sarah (24:24):
Um, yeah, I'm trying to
see what else I wrote on here.
Kristine (24:28):
Well, your notes are
so small.
Sarah (24:30):
Well, I made it in a
note.
Carrie (24:32):
Oh yeah.
And
Sarah (24:33):
then it printed, it was
gonna print on three pages and I
was like, that's not happening.
Kristine (24:37):
Her font is like font
size two.
Like I'm a 20 kind of gal.
I have really
Sarah (24:43):
good vision, so I can see
in,
Carrie (24:45):
oh, did you add that on
your resume?
You should.
Sarah (24:47):
I should.
Carrie (24:47):
Not that you're leaving
or going anywhere else, but No,
Kristine (24:50):
we would chain you
here first.
I know, I know.
Carrie (24:52):
So how do you like
managing such a big team?
Kristine (24:55):
Yeah, let's, so we
have how many staff now?
Carrie (24:58):
20, I don't know.
Plus 20.
Plus.
20 plus.
20 plus I think 22.
Kristine (25:03):
So 20 plus women now.
Yeah.
And they're Sarah's,
Carrie (25:07):
everyone's but three.
Yes.
Everyone but three people fallunder you.
Hannah, Rachel, Katherine.
They're the only ones that arein their own umbrella.
Yeah.
And then the rest are yours.
Yep.
Sarah (25:17):
They're all mine.
My little baby.
I'm just kidding.
Kristine (25:20):
No, that's perfect
way.
Yes.
So how is, how is that?
And have you had experience inhaving all that female?
Sarah (25:28):
Well, no,
Carrie (25:29):
that's a lot of female
energy.
It's a lot.
It's a lot.
Sarah (25:32):
Um, so I, I was gonna say
my management experience is I
was 18 and I managed BostonPizza.
I was a customer service managerin Fort McMurray and Wow.
Nothing like this.
No.
That is for sure.
Mm-hmm.
But I'm glad that it wasn'tlike, here's 20 people.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
It was gradual.
Carrie (25:52):
It was a slow,
Sarah (25:53):
yeah, it was a slow grow,
which was good.
Um, but yeah, it's, it's good.
I have like the, our team ofmanagers is what like keeps me
going.
Is what I wouldn't be able to doit without.
Mm-hmm.
Without them.
So Andrea, Katie, and HannahYeah.
Are like rock stars.
They keep their team in line andthen that way I can kind of do
(26:15):
my job and help them do theirs.
Mm-hmm.
So,
Kristine (26:18):
Good.
Sarah (26:18):
That is,
Kristine (26:19):
they are great.
Carrie (26:20):
Yeah.
It is a lot of female energy.
And not that that's a bad thing.
Kristine (26:23):
We're all syncing up
you guys.
Carrie (26:24):
Plus Kristine and I, so
like really there's 20.
I mean, really, she's managingyou and me too.
Oh, absolutely.
Kristine (26:30):
We often say that
Carrie and I are here for
decoration and Sarah's the boss.
Yeah.
Always.
Like if they, if somebody comesup to us and has a question
like, don't ask me.
Yeah.
I don't even know where thepaper towel was today.
I had, I had to ask for help.
Yeah.
So like, go talk to Sarah.
Sarah knows what's happening.
Sarah (26:45):
And don't your daughter
say that
Carrie (26:47):
Always, Brooke always,
always says, Sarah's the boss.
Kristine (26:49):
Always.
Carrie (26:50):
Yeah.
She knows.
She knows what's up.
Yeah.
But it's, honestly, I don'twanna be like, it's such a
relief that Kristine, I don'thave to do it.
But it is because we have, so Iknow Kristine and I joke a lot
that we're like decoration andwe don't do a lot, but we do
have a lot of tasks.
Yeah.
We ma we we're still trying tofind our path now that we don't
have as many, which hence thepodcast being added to our
(27:11):
roster.
Yeah.
But it's just, it's so nice thatthe day-to-day isn't on us
anymore.
Yes.
Because the day-to-day plus whatwe do.
Yeah.
It was, it wasn't realisticanymore.
Kristine (27:22):
It wasn't working.
No.
We don't do like the managing ofthe people.
We man, like, I mean obviouslywe have our managers meetings
and et cetera, et cetera, but wedon't, we don't do that portion
anymore.
So what I mean like Yeah.
we are doing our other things.
That portion of that job is noton us.
That's on Sarah.
That's why she's here To keepthe operations running.
Carrie (27:40):
Yeah.
And the cool thing is none of ushave ever done anything like
this.
Yeah.
So it's not.
You know?
Yeah.
And I was also thinking aboutthe dynamic here, and it was the
other day I was thinking aboutit.
Like, if we were to hire someonewho was trained in being an
operations manager, I just feellike it would be such a
different vibe.
(28:01):
Like, I love our vibe here.
Mm-hmm.
I love that.
You know, you, you're figuringit out as you go.
We are figuring it out as we go.
No, none of us, none of us hadthis in our experience.
No.
And no one that works here dideither.
So it's kind of, I love thatit's a learn as we go kind of
situation.
Yeah.
Because it, you know, everyonegives each other some grace with
(28:22):
some things.
Yeah.
And
Sarah (28:23):
I think you said that in
one of the episodes before.
Mm-hmm.
And I was like, I was listeningand I was like, yes.
Mm-hmm.
I always say like, especially ifone of, um, one of our managers
is dealing with an issue ontheir team, it's like you have
to give them grace.
Like, they could be having a badday.
Mm-hmm.
You could, who knows?
Yeah.
We try as hard as we can toleave everything at the door
before we come in, but like,
Carrie (28:45):
You're spending so much
time here.
Yeah.
It's not realistic.
Kristine (28:48):
No, we've, none of us
have done this before.
No.
We're just, we're just trying toget by
Carrie (28:54):
muddle through some
days.
Kristine (28:55):
Muddle through.
Yeah.
Sarah (28:56):
And like the thing that I
guess I've started, I've, you
guys have kind of talked methrough it, but like before
everyone would come to me withtheir issue.
Mm-hmm.
It'd have so many problems orthis problem, and then it was on
me to fix it, and it was somuch, and it was
Kristine (29:12):
like so stressful
Sarah (29:13):
mm-hmm.
I had list upon list longer thanthis, longer than my piece of
paper with things I needed totry and fix.
Mm-hmm.
And now we've said, okay, howcan we fix it?
Mm-hmm.
Turn the tables.
Mm-hmm.
How can you help us, help mefigure out how to fix this
because I'm not shipping 200packages a day.
(29:37):
Mm-hmm.
I'm not doing that every day,day to day stuff where if they
come and they're like, yeah, this is an issue, but.
Here's a way to solve it.
Carrie (29:45):
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Sarah (29:46):
This is a suggestion.
Absolutely.
And then it's like, okay, I havetime to process that and think
that through.
Look and see if it's evenpossible and then we can make a
decision.
Not like, good luck, sir.
Kristine (29:57):
Yeah.
And making sure, making sure theissues go to the direct manager.
Right.
Is a huge help.
Because when that wasn't theprocess.
Mm-hmm.
Or it wasn't happening as oftenas it should have.
You were not Sarah at thatmoment.
No.
Like you were about to break.
Right.
Because you had so much on yourplate.
That, and that was really hard.
Carrie (30:18):
And that, cuz the end of
last year was hard on us.
But it was hard on you too.
Yeah.
Because we hadn't set thoseboundaries.
Boundaries.
It goes back to episode three.
We hadn't set those boundariesin place for you.
Sarah (30:27):
Right.
Carrie (30:28):
And then finally we
said, enough is enough.
There has to be like an inbetween 22 people can't come to
you with their problems.
No, that's not,
Kristine (30:36):
it's too much.
It is.
Sarah (30:37):
It just be a lineup.
Yes.
And I was like, I'll get to allof you, I promise.
And like I felt so bad.
Carrie (30:42):
Mm-hmm.
Sarah (30:42):
But it was now like, I
know my specific team, so
Stephanie and Brittany, anytimethey had an issue, they tried
their hardest to fix it.
Before and then coming to tellme that what their fix was.
Yeah.
Or um, okay, I tried, but Iflagged this for you.
Can you look into it for me?
Instead of just constantlycoming or being another person
(31:05):
just waiting for me.
So it was a big, a big thing.
Yeah.
And I appreciate that so much.
Kristine (31:10):
the figure out on your
own was big mm-hmm.
Carrie (31:12):
Giving people the
confidence too, I feel.
Yeah.
Like sometimes if you don'tencourage people to solve
problems themselves, maybe theydon't have that confidence to
make that decision.
Kristine (31:24):
Totally.
Carrie (31:24):
And we used to say that
a lot to Stephanie when we were
training on her own customerservice.
Like, use your discretion.
Because we trust you and youknow, it's.
It's on you to make thatdecision.
And I feel like a lot of, a lotof our team and a lot of
different people have, um,started to definitely like
realize that they can make thosedecisions themselves and we do
trust their judgment and it kindof makes things easier too.
Sarah (31:47):
And it was nice that if,
um, like Stephanie for instance,
if she was to make a call andsomeone's unhappy with that
call, you guys have her back.
Mm-hmm.
Kristine (31:57):
Always.
Sarah (31:57):
I know there's been a, a
few times that you'll step in
and be like, no, I'm replying tothat.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like it's not
Carrie (32:01):
Oh yeah.
Sarah (32:02):
It's not always nice
emails that come in.
Carrie (32:04):
So when Christina and I
step in, that's when you know
it's bad.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
That's when it's been a whileactually.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kristine (32:11):
I think so.
Sarah (32:12):
I've jumped in on a few.
Yeah.
Because you know, Sarah here, ifonly you knew me and I'm like,
Kristine (32:20):
I love starting when I
have to take over.
If there's something that I haveto put my foot down for, I
always start in that way.
Kristine here?
Yeah.
Popping in here for, yeah.
Hi.
Carrie (32:28):
We actually had some
questions on Instagram the other
day about what are some thingsthat really are really hard or
what, what brings on your baddays, and sometimes it is
reading those emails becausesometimes I just, I read things
and I'm like, I cannot imaginetyping that to another person.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
You know, like, I just can'timagine saying that to someone.
(32:49):
So reading those, you know
Kristine (32:52):
Yeah, those can, yeah,
those can hurt.
Those are some nasty ones.
Carrie (32:56):
And then they get you
fired up.
Kristine (32:57):
Oh, yeah.
Carrie (32:57):
Then I'm fired up for
the whole rest of the day.
Kristine (32:59):
Yeah.
Then I need to take a lap aroundthe warehouse.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're really good at having to,like, when you do have to step
in, like now that it's not everysingle day and every single
moment when you do have to stepin, you're really good at that.
I mean, you're always good atit, but it's, it's nice to know
that there's.
Another, we have another personthat has our staffs.
(33:20):
Mm-hmm.
Back.
Sarah (33:21):
Mm-hmm.
Mm-hmm.
Kristine (33:23):
They always back'em.
It's good.
Glad.
Carrie (33:26):
Okay.
So how do you manage yourpersonal life on top of having
such a demanding job?
Because you're, I mean for,we've all said here that Sarah
manages 20 people.
Her job is really big.
Mm-hmm.
It, it really is.
At the end of the day, when youwrite it all down on a piece of
paper, it is really big.
And you have a lot of thingsthat you juggle throughout the
(33:47):
day at work, but then you haveyour personal life, which is
really busy.
So how do you juggle that?
Sarah (33:52):
Um, I don't juggle very
well.
I actually cannot juggle,actually juggle.
So, you know, this is,
Carrie (33:59):
Jayce can I
Kristine (33:59):
was just about to say,
Jace can juggle.
That's good.
Next day he's in, get to do atrick.
Get him to you.
Sarah (34:03):
It tomorrow teach me.
Teach me how to juggle.
Kristine (34:06):
I try to get'em to
teach me how to juggle.
It doesn't work.
No, no.
I think it's just something youcan do anyway.
Carrie (34:12):
Juggling.
You have subordination to handthe ball this way.
Yeah.
And while you're trying to catchanother It's a lot.
I've tried it,
Kristine (34:19):
it is really hard.
Carrie (34:21):
I just end up dropping
all the balls, which, yeah.
Kristine (34:26):
So, yeah.
Sarah (34:26):
still, it's still a
challenge for me for sure.
Um, definitely more in the lastyear than previous years.
Um, yeah, my husband works shiftwork, so like, he's, like right
now, I ha I don't think I'vereally seen him more than a few
hours, if not a day since, um,March.
He only gets one day off a week.
So that is, uh, that is astruggle.
(34:49):
Um, but once, you know, oncehopefully he's done and
hopefully summer sets in andmaybe the kids, maybe the kids'
activities kinda.
Carrie (34:58):
Slow down.
Sarah (34:59):
Slow down.
Um, we have a hot tub coming.
Kristine (35:02):
Ooh.
So congratulations.
Carrie (35:04):
Yeah.
That's nice.
Sarah (35:05):
Yeah.
So I feel like we'll have a lotof movie nights out there.
Mm-hmm.
Be able to, you know, actuallyrelax.
Yeah.
Um, but yeah, I've slowlystarted to do things for myself
when I can find the time.
I think you
Carrie (35:17):
play volleyball now.
Sarah (35:18):
I play volleyball.
Kristine (35:19):
I'm so happy you,
Sarah (35:20):
it's, it's actually done
right now.
Carrie (35:21):
Oh.
Sarah (35:21):
And I only ever made it
to three, but like I got to
three.
Awesome.
Kristine (35:24):
And that was awesome.
Sarah (35:25):
A big awesome.
A big deal.
So shout out to any, um,volleyball players They are
watching.
Like Jenna, I think that'sprobably the only one
Carrie (35:33):
that was on your team.
Sarah (35:34):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kristine (35:35):
That's really cool.
Sarah (35:35):
Um, yeah, so I try, I try
to juggle it all.
I try, um, probably within thelast few months I've tried to
finish my work at work.
At work.
Mm-hmm.
And if I have something I haveto do, it's on that.
Like, can this wait fortomorrow?
Can this wait for, you know, inbetween ballet and rugby and
(35:57):
mm-hmm.
Can I do this in the car for 15minutes?
But before, I used to be like,Ailey would have dance for three
hours and I would literally bebarking those three hours in the
car.
Yeah.
Stealing the dance studio wifi.
Um, but yeah, I think makingthat little bit of time for
myself,
Kristine (36:16):
I'm so glad
Sarah (36:17):
I did start reading and I
stopped, but I need to pick it
up again.
Carrie (36:22):
It's so, yeah.
Mm-hmm.
I find when I don't watch tv,especially at night, my sleep is
so much better.
I feel like I get a deepersleep.
Kristine (36:32):
I agree.
Carrie (36:32):
I have like, I feel like
I fall into a deeper sleep
because I wasn't on, I wasn'twatching TV or sitting on my
phone before I go to sleep.
Kristine (36:39):
I had a killer sleep
last night.
Carrie (36:40):
Me too.
Kristine (36:41):
Like, like dead to the
world asleep.
And I haven't been able to saythat in ages.
Mm-hmm.
You know that Carrie.
Um, but I read last night, amazing Sleep the night before.
I didn't read, I watched tv,crappy sleep.
Carrie (36:52):
It changes my sleep.
Kristine (36:53):
Yeah.
I, I a hundred percent think so.
Yeah.
What, what were you readinglast, do you remember?
Sarah (36:57):
Um, spare like, um, the,
what's his name?
Prince?
Prince Harris.
Carrie (37:04):
Oh yeah.
Kristine (37:05):
Oh yes.
Sarah (37:05):
Yeah.
So I was reading that and I, youknow what It's good.
I just, I, you know, I haven'tpicked it up since.
Kristine (37:12):
Okay.
So, fair enough.
Sarah (37:13):
You know, maybe I'll take
some of your recommendations.
Carrie (37:16):
You should.
Sarah (37:17):
I know Jackie just read
that.
Carrie (37:18):
I know, I saw that.
I messaged her last night.
I'm like, you read thehousemaid.
I'm so happy.
Sarah (37:23):
But yeah, I, I think
making sure that I can have some
time for myself.
I enjoy watching my kids mm-hmm.
Play sports.
Yeah.
And dance and all that stuff.
And especially if I get to hangout with my husband while we do
that.
Um, I do enjoy that.
So, It's kind of nice.
I like seeing them do reallygood.
At things.
It gives me a sense of pride.
(37:43):
So,
Carrie (37:44):
and I feel like last
year was really hard to hear
because we had grown so fast andwe were hiring as fast as we
could in training as fast as wecould, but we didn't have enough
people supporting us up front.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah.
Like now you have someone thatlike directly helps you with
things.
Mm-hmm.
And we didn't have that so.
(38:04):
And like we were all doing stuffat night all the time.
Yeah.
And it's not good for you.
And we knew we shouldn't bedoing it, but there was nobody
else.
Kristine (38:11):
And it was
frustrating.
It was like frustrating oneverybody.
Not just us, but our familiestoo.
Carrie (38:15):
Yeah.
Sarah (38:15):
Yeah.
Kristine (38:15):
So not like making
that boundary for yourself.
Mm-hmm.
And making sure you're gettingthe stuff done is like a huge
thing.
So like, kudos to you cuz like,it took you a lot less time than
it took us to figure that out.
Sarah (38:29):
I'm still, I think I'm
still figuring it out.
I feel like there's well, we,
Kristine (38:32):
we do too.
Like often and oftentimes westill work at home sometimes
obviously.
But that's, I'm, I'm proud ofyou.
you needed that break too.
Yeah.
Carrie (38:40):
Mm-hmm.
It is a sign of how much youcare about Yeah.
Us and our business, which issuch a big part of your role and
a big part of why Kristine andI.
Wanted to promote you.
Not cuz we thought that you'dwork all night.
But because you have that youcare, like you genuinely care
about what happens.
It's not just a job for you.
(39:00):
It's like you care about thewellbeing of our company and you
like you care.
And it's not that easy to findpeople who actually have that
passion.
Yeah.
Like you do.
Like
Kristine (39:11):
when we have all these
feelings about our business, we
know that you have, you feelthem too.
Right.
And that's a big deal.
Mm-hmm.
I
Sarah (39:17):
wrote down here, I drank
the Kool-Aid.
Carrie (39:19):
You did?
Kristine (39:20):
You did.
You freaking chugged it.
Carrie (39:21):
Yeah.
Kool-Aid drinkers.
Yeah.
We, We went.
Kristine and I went to aboutique summit.
It's been probably three yearsnow.
Yeah, it's been a while.
Kristine (39:31):
That was the last one,
Atlanta.
Carrie (39:32):
Yeah.
Kristine (39:33):
And love that someone
said, find someone who drinks
your Kool-Aid.
Who, who is so passionate aboutyour business that like they're
your right hand and.
We always say like, you're aKool-Aid drinker.
Yeah.
From that, from that speech.
Mm-hmm.
Because it is, it's, you know,no one, no matter what you do,
(39:53):
no one's ever gonna care aboutyour business as much as you do.
But finding someone who caresabout it almost as much as you
do, like that's, mm-hmm.
That's a really big key infinding, um, people to work for
you that will help progress yourbusiness.
So
Sarah (40:10):
I know every time you
guys bring me a Whackadoo idea,
Kristine (40:14):
a Whackadoo
Sarah (40:16):
Whackadoo idea, I am,
Kristine (40:17):
we bring them often
Sarah (40:18):
on board.
She
Carrie (40:20):
sometimes we're like, we
have an idea to run by you.
You're like, oh, good.
Kristine (40:23):
Have you ever heard
one of our ideas?
And like, actually was like, well, that's stupid, but in, or
like, have you ever shutanything down?
I don't,
Sarah (40:32):
I don't think so.
Kristine (40:33):
I think you just
always made it work.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Because I think you, you seethat we have this bigger vision.
Mm-hmm.
And maybe we not, we don't knowhow to like describe it or Yeah.
Explain it well enough.
Like how, but you grasp it.
Sarah (40:44):
How long did it take for
us to realize that we could put
the store in?
Carrie (40:49):
Oh my God.
We talked about it for,
Sarah (40:50):
in the Warehouse.
Carrie (40:52):
We talked about it for
like a good Yeah.
We were talking about it for anhour, and Sarah's like, what,
what about the offices that areempty?
We were like, oh God.
Right.
Kristine (41:00):
And this Sarah, this
right here,
Sarah (41:02):
because you're talking
about like running racks back
and forth between that littlemm-hmm.
That little building.
And I'm like, or we could just.
No.
Have another bay.
Kristine (41:11):
Oh my God's
mortifying.
Good Sarah.
Thanks.
Carrie (41:14):
Sometimes you need that
person that's like separate from
the idea.
Yeah.
To like be like, oh,
Kristine (41:19):
have that bigger
vision.
Because sometimes we can't getit out.
Mm-hmm.
Like properly.
And you can see that biggerpicture, bro.
Carrie (41:26):
You and I think get
stuck on an idea.
Yeah.
And we're like so honed in on itand then we don't see the other
options.
We just like that's the option.
Yeah.
Kristine (41:35):
A hundred percent.
That's us.
Carrie (41:36):
It's like, no, that's
it.
And then we think about it for awhile.
We're like, oh, okay.
Right.
Fine.
Kristine (41:41):
There is other
options.
Yeah.
Sarah (41:43):
Like the number of times
you guys will go, Sarah, are you
in your office?
Come, come here please.
Kristine (41:49):
That is actually a
really nice way to put it.
But it's not how that works.
I usually throw things at thewall.
Sarah (41:55):
You do?
But I can tell when Carriereally needs something.
Cuz she gonna sing my name.
Yeah.
And I'm like, oh no.
Oh God.
All this happening.
Kristine (42:03):
Yeah.
I'll throw pens at the wall.
Sarah (42:04):
You do?
Didn't I throw something at?
Carrie (42:08):
Yeah,
Kristine (42:08):
yeah.
Sarah (42:08):
It was when I think
during like Covid.
Yeah.
I think when we, one of us hadour door closed and I threw it
and you were like, ah,
Kristine (42:17):
yeah, that was funny.
Ah, we're good at what we doaround here.
Yeah.
What other questions we got forSarah?
Carrie (42:23):
Um, so how do you like
working for us?
Sarah (42:26):
It's fun.
Kristine (42:26):
Are you gonna answer
honestly?
I wanna know it.
Like, gimme the, gimme the dirt.
Yeah.
Sarah (42:32):
It's good.
It's, you know, no day is thesame.
Mm-hmm.
I will say that there is not,you know, I, I wrote here, I
could never like hold anotherjob.
I don't feel like I could havebosses, like, I'd have to go
into like, If I was to leave, which I've obviously cannot,
Carrie (42:53):
le not allowed to do.
Sarah (42:54):
I have the passwords, I'm
not allowed to leave.
That's true.
Carrie (42:59):
If you leave, the
Kool-Aid will kill you.
Kristine (43:01):
Pretty much.
Sarah (43:02):
Um, like I'd have to go
work for myself.
Yeah.
Like, I don't think I could havea boss because there's nothing
that would compare to you two.
Kristine (43:13):
I don't know if that's
good or bad.
Sarah (43:15):
It's, it's a good thing.
Like you let me, you let me, Iwas gonna say rule, but that's
not No, you're, you Let me kindof Yeah.
Run the way I, I want to run.
I'm not changing who I am.
I am a nice person and I like tothink that I manage nicely.
Mm-hmm.
(43:35):
I'm not, I, when I need to.
I will put my foot down and Iwill get angry and upset.
Not angry, get upset and show myfrustration.
Carrie (43:44):
What does angry Sarah
look like?
Kristine (43:46):
Yeah, I don't, I've
never seen it.
Sarah (43:48):
I saw your face and I was
like, that's the wrong, that was
the wrong thing to say.
Um, but you kind of let me dowhat I need to do.
There's things in the day thatyou guys need from me, or quick
changes that you need me tomake.
Mm-hmm.
And you kind of let me drive, dothe thing.
Yeah.
Kristine (44:07):
Drive the bus,
Carrie (44:08):
which I want you to know
is so big for me as a person,
because I am, I am aself-proclaimed control freak,
and I have a really hard time.
It took me a while.
Yeah.
I'm better now.
I don't check out very often.
Sometimes just
Sarah (44:22):
sometimes on the prices.
Carrie (44:26):
I just, yeah.
It, I, I don't know.
Maybe I said this in one of theother episodes.
Sometimes I get confused if Isaid it in an episode or if I
said it in a live, but, There'snothing I give you anymore and
like ask you to do that.
I feel like I have to have tofollow up.
Mm-hmm.
Sometimes I like to follow upmm-hmm.
For my own peace of mind, but Idon't, I never feel like I have
(44:46):
to check that you've donesomething.
Right.
Because I just know like you putit on your list and then it's
done.
Yeah.
Or I ask you and then you getthis Yeah.
Stunned.
Look on your face and you'relike, I'll be right back.
Kristine (44:58):
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's, it's already done.
Go back to my office forsomething else.
Have to go to the bathroom
Sarah (45:05):
really bad.
I'm
Kristine (45:06):
back.
Bring my laptop phone.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Whenever we say something, whether in our, like if we text
you or whatever, we always knowthat it's done.
I just always like this wildmental checklist.
Mm-hmm.
That's just, you're really goodat checking the pieces off.
Uh, you might not think so, butyou are very good at it.
(45:27):
Okay.
You are, whether you write itdown or whatever you do, you
always make sure that.
Sarah (45:32):
Good.
I was, uh, I wrote, it's done.
I wrote down here.
I'm like, is this myself-evaluation?
Carrie (45:37):
Like, is this Yeah.
We're not doing a real one now.
This is it.
This is the whole shebang.
Sarah (45:42):
So how would you rate me
at a five
Kristine (45:43):
selfe evaluation on
podcasts?
Like, that's, that's dauntingactually.
Carrie (45:47):
I do, I do like to think
though, that you and I are
pretty like lax
Kristine (45:51):
us.
Carrie (45:52):
Yeah.
Kristine (45:52):
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (45:54):
Like, you know, there
are some things we, there has
been times in the past where wehave been burned by being too
lax.
Kristine (46:00):
A hundred percent.
Yeah.
Carrie (46:01):
Not by Sarah.
Like, you know, in the past.
So there's some things that wedo try to, like, stand our
ground on, but overall I like,we're pretty lax.
Mm-hmm.
Kristine (46:09):
Yeah.
You know, and, you know, whenwe're like serious about
something that if it needs to bedone mm-hmm.
Or like why it needs to be donethat certain way, you understand
that and you don't argue withit.
You, you understand it.
Right.
Like you've already picked itapart in your brain.
I'm like, okay, that, that'sright.
This is what I need to do andthis is what I'm gonna do going
forward.
Sarah (46:30):
And then I usually run
out of the office and Yeah, go
and fix it or make it work or,
Kristine (46:34):
exactly.
Yeah.
But I agree with you, Carrie.
We are lax, but we're not, um,
Carrie (46:39):
no.
Sarah (46:40):
You have a way that you
want things to be.
Yeah.
And I try my hardest to makesure that it's, um, up to that.
Kristine (46:48):
And I find that we're
really good, um, communicating
with each other, with like, especially between the three of
us of why we need something doneor like how it needs to be done.
And like, you'll ask usquestions and we'll ask you
questions.
Like we're very, I think we'revery, really good at that.
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (47:02):
Yeah, I agree.
Kristine (47:03):
Especially when it
comes to like backend things,
you know?
Carrie (47:07):
I do.
But I'm glad you don't think youcould ever go anywhere else and
work for a real boss.
Sarah (47:11):
I was really trying to
think about it and I'm like, I
don't think I could like, Sit ina quiet office and like,
Carrie (47:20):
what do you mean
Kristine (47:21):
no one else will have
a button?
No.
That says, says no in manydifferent ways.
Carrie (47:28):
It just says Sarah.
Sarah says Sarah.
Sarah.
Kristine (47:30):
Did we have a no
button at one point?
Carrie (47:32):
We did.
Yeah.
Kristine (47:32):
You What happened to
that?
Carrie (47:34):
I think it's still in
one of our desks.
Kristine (47:36):
Good.
We need to bring that out.
I'm not sure why.
Carrie (47:40):
No, no, no, no, no, no,
no.
Yeah,
Kristine (47:42):
yeah.
Definitely around.
Yeah.
No, you, you wouldn't get thisanywhere else.
Carrie (47:47):
No.
And it's never quiet.
I mean, on Fridays it may be.
Yes.
Sarah (47:50):
Well, Fridays is, I, I
think I said today.
Mm-hmm.
Fridays is probably my busiestday.
You guys aren't here.
Mm-hmm.
But like, it's usually when, youknow, we're getting ready for
the weekend.
Carrie (48:00):
Yeah.
Sarah (48:00):
And things like that.
Or you guys are still workingand so sometimes, what do you
mean?
Sometimes there's might be alittle bit more running around
than the rest of the week, but,
Carrie (48:09):
And it's probably good
that we're not here If you're
like, have things to do becausewe just are distracting
sometimes you can be a littledistracting.
Kristine (48:16):
Never.
Carrie (48:17):
Which leads us into a
really good question.
Sarah (48:19):
What is that?
Carrie (48:19):
What's the weirdest
thing you've heard slash seen
from us?
Sarah (48:25):
Okay.
I try.
Oh, you okay?
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (48:27):
Kristine's gonna spit
out her coffee.
Kristine (48:30):
White carpet.
I had, I have an ice chunk in mymouth, so I was like, afraid
that I always, if I were toswallow, like I'd choke on the
ice or spit out my coffee.
All of our beautiful whitecarpet.
Okay.
Sarah, go on.
Sarah (48:43):
Okay.
Um, it's
Carrie (48:44):
so I, I
Sarah (48:46):
have a really hard time
with this one cuz I feel like it
all just blends together.
Carrie (48:49):
Mm-hmm.
Sarah (48:51):
Again, like I said, every
day is very different.
Um, I do think it's very weirdthat I know your bathroom
schedule.
Kristine (48:57):
Mine specifically.
Yeah.
So I don't know.
So Sarah's our direct neighbor, like direct neighbor.
So when I do say I throw pens, like she can directly hear
Carrie (49:07):
that like Yeah.
She shares the wall.
Yeah.
Sarah (49:09):
There's just the three of
us in that corner.
That's right.
Carrie (49:11):
Yeah.
It's just us.
Yeah.
Kristine (49:11):
Um, so to get anywhere
out of our office, we have to
pass by Sarah's office andCarrie and I, uh, attached to
the hip as we are.
We share an office naturally andum, We are so strange, so weird.
So weird.
And Sarah hears and sees it all.
So like my bathroom schedule.
Yeah.
Sarah (49:31):
Which you'll wave to me
every time.
Kristine (49:34):
This one time it's my
favorite time.
I walked out of the office, butI spun around, looked at Sarah
Finger gunned and said, you knowwhat time it is.
Like why was that necessary?
But
Sarah (49:50):
I don't think Carrie was
here that day..
Kristine (49:51):
As I walked to the
bathroom,
Carrie (49:52):
I wasn't here.
No.
I was so sad.
Kristine (49:55):
I think you know what
time it is?
Carrie (49:56):
I think it was when I
was in Disneyland.
I think so.
Yeah.
Because you had like a, thosecouple days I was gone.
You're like, I kept Sarahupdated.
Yeah,
Kristine (50:04):
you in the loop.
Sarah (50:06):
Um, I definitely have
walked in on the wrong, at the
wrong time.
Oh yeah, for sure.
More than.
Oh yeah.
Kristine (50:13):
Like we're changing or
something.
Like we
Carrie (50:15):
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you're like, well, we'redoing weird stuff.
Yeah.
Sarah (50:18):
Well, you've made that
TikTok, I think I walked in and
you were making a TikTok orsomething and you're like, just,
just ignore us.
I think you were, you know thatone where you like catch each
other?
Yes.
You like hold onto the, I can'tremember what it was.
Kristine (50:31):
The legs.
Carrie (50:31):
The legs when you were
running maybe.
Or the one where our legs wereconnected and your legs.
We had to support each other.
Kristine (50:35):
Yeah.
Carrie (50:36):
Which it, that was a
fail.
Kristine (50:37):
We, I don't even think
we posted that, did we?
Carrie (50:39):
Because we couldn't do
it.
Sarah (50:40):
Well, I think you needed
me to record it or something.
And then I walked in and you'relike, we're just stop working.
Kristine (50:46):
Well, legs were
wrapped around each other with a
little questionable, very smallspace too, so That's too funny.
Sarah (50:52):
Um, I've definitely had
to, um, I've gotten a friend a
phone call to go and intercept apackage
Carrie (51:01):
Oh yeah.
Sarah (51:01):
From the mail.
Yeah.
Before anyone else has openedit.
Yeah.
Kristine (51:05):
Was that mine?
Oh, no.
We both had that.
We both had it package.
Yeah.
Carrie (51:08):
Yeah.
Kristine (51:09):
Oops.
Sarah (51:10):
A few different times.
Carrie (51:11):
Like, why don't we ship
that stuff to our house?
Sarah (51:14):
I think they were
accidental purchases were there.
Carrie (51:16):
Yeah.
One of them was for sure.
Yeah.
Mine was too.
Kristine (51:18):
Well, not accidental.
I absolutely did on purpose, butI was drunk.
Yeah.
And I, it was, I was at a hockeygame.
Carrie (51:25):
I was too.
I actually ordered it foranother staff member for a gift.
Kristine (51:29):
That's true.
I remember.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Carrie (51:31):
And I was like, um,
could you, could you grab this
before somebody opens it?
Because all of the returns thatcome here, they all say my name
on it, which we can't fix.
Sarah (51:39):
We need to fix that.
Carrie (51:40):
I, I've tried.
It's driving me crazy.
So they all say Carrie and thenthe address.
So like, my stuff gets openedall the time.
Well, God,
Kristine (51:49):
the pack starts
buzzing.
Just go give it a Sarah.
Oh my gosh.
Gosh, Sarah, I don't know whatto do with this.
Carrie (52:01):
If any HR professionals
are listening to this podcast,
please just plug your ears.
Oh, it didn't happen that way.
No,
Sarah (52:12):
but like we spent, uh,
like we've vacationed and not
vacationed.
We went on a work trip to Vegastwice.
Carrie (52:19):
Twice.
Mm-hmm.
Sarah (52:20):
So, like, I've seen you
in your rest, you have in the
early morning, which, you know,oh yeah.
Not too many employees can saythat about their bosses that,
yeah.
You know, like the first timeyou, you welcomed me easily into
the.
Into the Vegas life.
We each had our own separaterooms.
Carrie (52:37):
Oh yeah, you did have
your own room.
Sarah (52:39):
I did have my own room.
Carrie (52:39):
We were bougie that
trip.
Ooh.
Real bougie.
Kristine (52:42):
So bougie.
Carrie (52:42):
Oh, that was 2021.
Those were the good old days.
Yeah.
Or early 2022.
One of the two.
Sarah (52:47):
Like I had own second
suite.
Yeah, you did.
Heated toilet and like Yeah.
Kristine (52:51):
Those are the best
toilets.
So good.
Carrie (52:53):
The M aria toilets are
just Yes.
Kristine (52:56):
It's got like a, the
built-in B day.
Carrie (52:58):
Oh yeah.
Kristine (52:59):
And the heated seat.
Mm-hmm.
Dries front end back like it's ayes.
For me.
Sarah (53:05):
I have no idea that was
even a thing.
So
Kristine (53:07):
Yeah.
It's awesome.
Sarah (53:08):
And then trip two was we
were right next to each other
Carrie (53:10):
and we were sharing a
room,
Kristine (53:13):
sharing a bathroom.
Carrie (53:15):
Yeah.
Kristine (53:16):
Yeah.
Sorry.
Carrie (53:17):
Lucky story,
Kristine (53:17):
Sarah.
Well, she knows my schedule soshe knows when to avoid it,
Carrie (53:22):
but that trip was nice.
We actually didn't, we had onefull day of just nothing.
Sarah (53:26):
Yeah.
Got to go to the pool.
Carrie (53:28):
We did.
Sarah (53:28):
We read.
Carrie (53:29):
That was nice.
Kristine (53:30):
Yeah.
All of us, right?
Sarah (53:31):
We're all reading.
Carrie (53:33):
You and I were drinking.
Kristine (53:34):
Yeah.
As we do naturally.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We went out some drinks.
Carrie (53:39):
We went You did?
At Buk.
Kristine (53:41):
Oh yeah.
Yeah.
That was good.
We did.
There's a restaurant,
Sarah (53:44):
restaurant punch.
Kristine (53:45):
Yeah.
The punch bowl.
Yeah.
There's a restaurant in, um,what is it actually called?
Carrie (53:50):
In Excalibur, and it's
called
Sarah (53:53):
No.
Kristine (54:00):
isn't it?
Oh, I'm looking it up now cause
Sarah (54:09):
and this is exactly, um,
why this is the name of it,
because
Kristine (54:14):
actually I had to
Google it, so I got this, so can
this right Buk depo.
And it's like impossible to say.
I
Carrie (54:22):
don't think one of us
has ever called it that.
Kristine (54:24):
No.
Carrie (54:24):
That's the first time
Kristine (54:25):
Beep.
Beep beep is my favorite.
Sarah (54:27):
Shout out to the
photographer.
Carrie (54:28):
Oh yeah.
Sarah (54:29):
That cuz she's amazing.
Carrie (54:30):
Yeah.
Big shout out to thephotographer that, you know how
they come around to your tableand they take your picture and
then they con you into buyingit.
Well I was like, well, we're notgonna buy it cuz that's crazy.
And then she brought the pictureand somehow she gave us all
these snatch jaw lines.
We looked like we all lost 20pounds in these pictures.
Yeah.
And we're like, yeah, we'll takethree.
Kristine (54:47):
Yeah.
Right.
Carrie (54:48):
We'll take three of
those please.
Full round.
It's just snatch
Sarah (54:52):
full color.
Full color too, please.
Carrie (54:54):
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kristine (54:56):
I don't think I
actually look that way.
I like Yeah.
Carrie (54:59):
Like your face shape
isn't even that way.
Kristine (55:00):
No, I have a very oval
face.
Carrie (55:02):
Yeah.
Kristine (55:02):
And I, I have a like a
Chin in that photo.
Carrie (55:06):
Like a jawline.
Kristine (55:07):
Yeah.
It was magical.
There's no way.
But that's okay.
Sarah (55:10):
Pasta.
Mm-hmm.
And.
Kristine (55:12):
A fishbowl.
Sarah (55:13):
A fishbowl of,
Kristine (55:14):
yeah.
So it's like a family styleItalian restaurant and like, so
delicious.
Carrie (55:18):
Hey, can we all talk for
one second about what happened
when we left that restaurant?
Kristine (55:22):
No.
What, what happened?
Carrie (55:23):
We went to the bathroom
downstairs.
Kristine (55:24):
Oh my God.
Yes.
How I f I I didn't know whereyou were going with this and I'm
so happy.
Carrie (55:29):
So we walked into the
public bathroom at the
Excalibur, which.
It's quite the hotel.
And we walked in and I saw aman's feet facing, facing the
toilet.
But then I also saw girls' feetfacing the toilet.
And I turned around to the girlsand I said, they are fucking in
this bathroom.
Like they are without a doubthaving sex in here.
(55:51):
And like all you could hear waslike slapping noises and we had
to pee.
Like I, I couldn't go to anotherbathroom.
Yeah.
But I was crying, laughing.
Kristine (56:00):
Yeah.
And they were, they knew otherpeople were in the bathroom, so
they were laughing and stillgoing.
So like, there were stillmoaning and laughing and
slapping and like, it was like, there were so many Sounds
Carrie (56:12):
We didn't even wash our
heads.
Sarah (56:14):
No.
Carrie (56:14):
We had to run outta the
bathroom and find hand
sanitizer.
Cuz none of us could, none of uscould even stay in there
anymore.
I was crying.
I was, because
Kristine (56:21):
I have never, and I'm
so happy that happened because I
don't, I've never experienced.
Walking in on somebody havingsex in a bathroom before
Carrie (56:27):
me either.
And I, and
Sarah (56:28):
it's not like there was
three stalls.
There was like at least 15stalls in that bathroom.
Kristine (56:33):
Yeah, it's a big
bathroom.
It was a big bathroom.
Carrie (56:35):
And they picked, they
were in a small stall.
I'm not sure why they did that.
Kristine (56:38):
Yeah, I don't know
either.
They could have had so much.
Sarah (56:40):
Well maybe they, maybe
the like
Kristine (56:42):
molding themselves up
with the walls I guess.
Yeah.
So that,
Carrie (56:49):
you know, that's an
experience yeahs so happy.
Kristine (56:53):
Best offers so much
there.
Yeah.
Like boo beep, uh, sex in thebathroom, uh, thunder from Dun
under thunder.
Sarah (57:00):
From under fast
photographers.
Carrie (57:01):
Yes.
Sarah (57:02):
Yes.
Kristine (57:02):
There's so much to
offer,
Carrie (57:03):
like a castle.
Kristine (57:04):
it is shaped like a
castle.
You can't, no, you should gowrong there.
Carrie (57:08):
No, you can't.
Sarah (57:09):
I should add this.
It was only my third time toVegas.
My first time was when I was noteven legal.
Mm-hmm.
So this is really only my secondtime and this is my experience.
Carrie (57:18):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Classic Vegas.
Yeah.
Kristine (57:20):
You're welcome.
We planned that.
We called them.
It's like, can you do us afavor?
Go bang the bathroom.
Yep.
Ugh.
Okay.
And go.
Sarah's coming.
Carrie (57:31):
We're coming now.
Kristine (57:33):
Is that what they
said?
Carrie (57:34):
Yeah.
Yeah.
Okay.
We really did cover all thequestions we had.
The last one was, did you expectto have bosses that act this
way?
But I feel like you kind ofcovered that when you were
talking.
I mean, I just don't think youcould ever expect us.
Sarah (57:50):
No, no.
Carrie (57:53):
We're pretty unique.
Sarah (57:55):
Very unique.
You both have so unique, uniquepersonalities.
Kristine (58:01):
We do have very unique
personalities.
Carrie (58:03):
We do.
And I always think when we'relive and stuff, and especially
on Monday nights and we're supersilly.
Yeah.
Like that's not an act like thatis genuine.
Kristine and Carrie.
Yeah.
And people always ask, are youguys what?
What's in your cups?
What are you even drinking?
It's not alcohol.
Like this is life.
This is just us.
Kristine (58:19):
Yeah.
We're how in life we're happy tobe with each other.
Sarah (58:22):
The funniest thing for me
for Monday Night Lives is that I
know it's you.
Kristine (58:28):
Yeah.
Sarah (58:28):
And so when I com, or
when I comment, like laughing or
like whatever, or text you guysindividually or in our group
chat, just like how much I'mlaughing.
It's, it's cuz it's really youand that it's just so funny to
see it on camera as well.
Carrie (58:47):
We're putting it out
there for the world.
Sarah (58:49):
I'm literally crying on
Yeah.
On my couch.
Kristine (58:51):
Yeah.
Sarah (58:52):
Watching this.
Carrie (58:53):
That's us.
Yeah.
Kristine (58:54):
Oh, I love that.
Carrie (58:54):
That baby.
Did you have anything else thatyou, uh, wrote that you, uh, we
didn't ask?
Kristine (59:00):
I have another
question for you.
Okay.
After or now?
Yeah.
Because we were talking abouthow big your job is.
Can you give a small littlesnippet for the people, just so
they know, even a small, likemaybe two, three things off of
your day-to-day so theyunderstand how big your job
actually is.
Mm-hmm.
Is that something you can do forus?
Sarah (59:18):
I don't know if I can.
Kristine (59:19):
Okay.
Sarah (59:20):
Every day is completely
different.
Okay.
I mean, managing 20 people is
huge.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Making sure that they have workto do.
Yeah.
Is another big thing.
Like making sure that, um, ourfriend and support has mm-hmm.
Things to enter, make sure thatthings are going online when
they should be, and confirmingthat they are, and you know,
(59:41):
just, there's just so much.
Kristine (59:42):
Okay.
No, that, that was like, thatwas like three things in, in
Creon one, so Yeah.
Carrie (59:46):
And you manage our
intake team and our shipping
team.
Yeah.
So you are, I mean, you'remaking sure the operation of our
business is functioning.
Yeah.
So you're making sure the intakeknows mm-hmm.
What they're doing.
Cuz it needs to flow over toshipping because they need to
have their stuff and Yeah.
It's,
Kristine (01:00:02):
and it all flows up
to, um, upstairs as well, like
to our social media team.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
So like, you are literallymaking sure everything from that
comes through the door ishandled mm-hmm.
Properly, properly in a timelymanner.
Mm-hmm.
Before it gets out or until itgets out that door because it
could be packaged.
Mm-hmm.
That doesn't mean that's the jobis done.
It literally needs to leavehere.
(01:00:23):
So I just wanted, I need like, you know, I want people to know
Yeah.
That your job isn't just like, Idon't know, to think that
you're, the operations matter, just like, just small tasks,
what you take on a day issomething that is a lot of
people won't, wouldn't be ableto do.
Yeah.
Because it is, there's just somuch going on all the time and
you handle it like so well, afucking champ.
(01:00:45):
Mm-hmm.
Sarah (01:00:45):
Two of our platforms have
a lot of trouble too.
Mm-hmm.
So I'm always troubleshooting, troubleshooting and fixing
computers or printers or cuz Iam
Kristine (01:00:55):
tech sport,
Sarah (01:00:56):
tech sport.
Um, which also my family thinksit's hilarious that I'm tech
sport cuz like my sister's verytechy, tech savvy.
Yeah.
And I'm like,
Carrie (01:01:06):
Not, not compared to
her.
Sarah (01:01:08):
So it's, it's funny,
Carrie (01:01:10):
it's go show you how
tech savvy we are.
Right.
Sarah (01:01:13):
But yeah, no, I, yeah.
Making sure that everything isrunning smoothly and like I have
my base, like I, I check ouremails mm-hmm.
And make sure that all of ourpackages are coming in and
making sure that they're in theproper slot and printed and, you
know mm-hmm.
Make sure that everything'sgoing okay.
Kristine (01:01:33):
Good.
Good.
You have such a big job.
I just didn't want, wanted toget looked past.
Carrie (01:01:38):
No.
Literally from the time we orderto, the time the product is out
the door, plus the customerservice follow ups that ha
happen after is all you.
Mm-hmm.
Like, you, you oversee all ofit.
It's such, it's huge.
It's a huge job.
It's, and I know we are like,oh, Sarah's our operations
manager, but I don't thinkeveryone understands how big
(01:01:58):
that job is.
Mm-hmm.
You're like me either untilright now and
Sarah (01:02:03):
I'm like, oh, what do I
do in a today?
I know I check some emailsmm-hmm.
And I do this and then it'susually at like three o'clock.
Like I'm thinking like, what doI have to do?
Katie went home early today, soI, but I have to go and accept
Grace's transfer mm-hmm.
And make sure that Yeah.
You know, every, that good to gofor that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Carrie (01:02:21):
Cuz you also have to
cover when your team's not
there.
Sarah (01:02:24):
Yeah.
And of course, I don't know, everyone's got allergies,
Kristine (01:02:28):
things going on right
now.
Carrie (01:02:29):
There's so much going
around right now.
Yeah.
So all the kids are sick and allthe parents are sick.
Sarah (01:02:34):
Yeah.
Um, I don't really have a wholelot of questions for you guys
cuz it's really, um, you'veanswered them.
Carrie (01:02:41):
Yeah.
We kind of covered it all.
Hey.
Kristine (01:02:42):
so.
We do the, uh, fuck Mary kill.
Sarah (01:02:44):
Yep.
Kristine (01:02:45):
Um, we would like to
fuck Mary kill you.
Sarah (01:02:48):
Oh yeah.
Kristine (01:02:48):
Um, before you head
you, um, Because it's one of our
favorite things to do, part ofour podcast,
Carrie (01:02:55):
and everyone who's been
listening has been loving it,
which I love.
Kristine (01:02:58):
Yeah.
Yeah.
They're fun to do.
Carrie (01:02:59):
They are fun.
Kristine (01:03:00):
So, uh, do you accept?
Sarah (01:03:02):
I accept.
Kristine (01:03:03):
Oh, okay.
Thank God.
Carrie (01:03:04):
Okay.
Okay.
Do you wanna say the first one?
Kristine (01:03:06):
Yes.
What?
Almost read yours.
Carrie (01:03:08):
Oh.
Oh.
Could you?
I'll come imagine.
No, I can't.
Kristine (01:03:12):
Yeah.
Okay.
Uh, Sarah's fuck.
Mary Kay.
Derek Shepherd from Grey'sAnatomy.
Sarah (01:03:19):
Okay.
Carrie (01:03:19):
Casey from Yellowstone.
Kristine (01:03:22):
And Jack from Virgin
River.
Fuck.
Mary Kay.
Sarah.
Sarah (01:03:26):
Oh God.
Yeah.
Oh God.
Carrie (01:03:29):
It's a good one.
Hey,
Kristine (01:03:31):
it's really good.
Carrie (01:03:31):
I don't know what I
would do, so just so everybody
knows,
Sarah (01:03:34):
Um, okay.
So, Derek Shepherd, Casey.
Mm-hmm.
And Jack.
And Jack.
I'm killing Jack.
Carrie (01:03:41):
Okay.
Taking him out?
Sarah (01:03:43):
Yep.
Okay.
He's nice, but
Carrie (01:03:45):
like he's not, yeah.
Sarah (01:03:46):
I liked him better in
Grey's Anatomy.
Carrie (01:03:49):
That's fair res.
Oh yeah.
Kristine (01:03:50):
Right.
Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Carrie (01:03:55):
Now we just have Derek
Shepherd and Casey.
Yeah.
Kristine (01:03:57):
Sarah looks very per
perplexed.
Carrie (01:04:00):
It's tough.
Sarah (01:04:01):
Yeah, it is tough.
Okay.
I would marry Derek.
She Oh,
Carrie (01:04:05):
yeah.
Sarah (01:04:05):
Yeah.
You know?
Carrie (01:04:07):
Yeah, I do.
Kristine (01:04:08):
I get it.
Um,
Carrie (01:04:10):
he's, cuz he's a good
guy.
Sarah (01:04:11):
Yeah.
And I'm fucking Casey.
Yeah.
I mean, like, if I'm married tohim, then I could like, you
know,
Kristine (01:04:17):
but it's not part of
all
Carrie (01:04:18):
we have, we have this
dilemma often.
Mm-hmm.
Because we're like, can youknow, can you, but no, the
choice is to marry them.
Yeah.
Like, yeah, maybe you're havinga sexless marriage.
I don't know, but like,
Sarah (01:04:28):
and I can't, um, Yeah.
No, I can't with Jack.
I know.
Yeah.
Kristine (01:04:35):
I actually, I've never
watched Virgin River and I've
never watched Yellowstone, soCarrie actually had to show me
pictures today.
Sarah (01:04:41):
Okay.
And who would you,
Kristine (01:04:43):
I would really like to
get to know Casey very well.
Sarah (01:04:46):
Oh yeah?
Carrie (01:04:47):
Yeah.
Kristine (01:04:47):
He's so well.
Mm-hmm.
So,
Carrie (01:04:49):
yeah, he's good.
Kristine (01:04:50):
He's my cup of tea.
Yeah.
But we had a good list for you.
Okay, well thanks Sarah forjoining us.
Carrie (01:04:58):
Thank you.
Sarah (01:04:58):
Thanks guys.
Kristine (01:04:59):
I loved it.
This is a good episode.
Sarah (01:05:01):
I'm glad
Kristine (01:05:02):
I'm excited.
Sarah (01:05:02):
I was nervous.
Kristine (01:05:03):
Oh, you did a great
job.
Carrie (01:05:04):
Once you get going it's
like, it's so easy.
Sarah (01:05:06):
It's just talking you
guys.
Carrie (01:05:07):
Yeah,
Kristine (01:05:08):
Awesome.
Okay
Carrie (01:05:09):
Thanks Sarah.
Kristine (01:05:09):
Thank you.
Sarah (01:05:10):
Thanks for having me on.
Carrie (01:05:11):
Okay.
So now it's, uh, time for somequestions.
Kristine (01:05:16):
Hey.
Yeah.
Carrie (01:05:17):
Okay.
So now that you guys haveactually been able to wa or
listen to some watch, oh my God.
Listen to some episodes.
We had some questions.
Yeah.
Listener questions.
I think we're gonna try to do aregular thing.
Mm-hmm.
Um, at the end of our episodesor near the end.
Um, Let's kick it off with, uh,a question.
Do you wanna go first or you cango first.
(01:05:39):
Okay.
This one is from, um, I'm justshortening down the name here on
Instagram.
This is from TF on Instagram.
Um, the question is, do you everfight?
So this is one of our favoritequestions to answer.
Sarah's like, oh, God, I've, whyam I not here anymore?
She's just like sitting backrelaxing.
So yes, Carrie and I spend.
A lot of time together.
(01:06:00):
And by a lot, I mean, we spendmost of our time together.
Uh, we work together, obviously,we hang out together, we choose
to do all this.
So naturally it's just, we'regonna butt heads over things
that's just such as life.
Yeah.
And I mean, we're running abusiness together.
Kristine (01:06:19):
Yeah.
We have to make like majordecisions, life decisions, not
only just for us mm-hmm.
But for the people who work forus.
Right?
Mm-hmm.
So like, there's gonna bequestions or like, there's gonna
be things that pop up that webutt head on bed
Carrie (01:06:31):
butt heads on.
The funniest thing is the stuffwe fight about is never like
actual decisions.
No.
Kristine (01:06:36):
So like, there's just
things that we like, you know,
there's just a lot going on forus.
Mm-hmm.
So we will butt heads andsometimes it's over ridiculous
things.
Yeah.
Like I have an i an idea forsocial media or something.
Yeah.
And Carrie didn't like it.
And, and then we get mad and wecry, and then we go for ice
cream.
So
Carrie (01:06:54):
it just, it's usually
like a tension buildup though,
right?
Yeah.
Where it's like, you know, it's,the cup is running over and we
need to just fight it out.
Kristine (01:07:02):
It's like a once a
year we have an annual fight.
Mm-hmm.
And then we'll get mad.
We'll cry.
Sarah
Carrie (01:07:07):
sat next to us for one
of them and she was like, I
don't know what, she
Kristine (01:07:10):
was cliquey, clocking.
She was cliquey, clocking on hercomputer.
Yeah.
It's, it's not, it's not often.
It's not often.
Sarah (01:07:18):
And it's just
Carrie (01:07:19):
sometimes you just,
sometimes you just wanna like
get mad.
Yeah.
And there's get mad at eachother.
There's nothing.
Kristine (01:07:25):
No.
That would make me hate you forRobert's 3 0 3.
Yeah.
I already.
Okay, good.
Yeah.
Um, my alarm goes off every day.
Oh.
Uh, but there's nothing thatwould make me hate you forever.
No.
Oh God, no.
No.
So, yeah, we fight, it's normal.
Mm-hmm.
It's gonna
Carrie (01:07:40):
happen and then it's
over and we move along.
Yep.
And we go get ice cream.
Yep.
Um, yeah, that's the one I got.
Okay.
So have you ever dnf a book?
So that means do not finish.
Like, have you ever read a bookand not been able to finish?
Kristine (01:07:55):
Um, I personally don't
like doing that Uhhuh.
I have to see it through.
Yeah.
I've never not finished a book,I don't think.
Yeah, I don't think so.
Carrie (01:08:05):
Okay.
I just did, I just did like amonth ago.
It was by Nyla case.
So she's the same author thatwrote for the fans and she wrote
that book that was called Push.
Yep.
And.
I just really, I'm sure I couldhave pushed through, see what I
did there, and maybe I stillwill, but at the time it just
wasn't filling my cup.
(01:08:26):
Okay.
It just wasn't bringing me the,it, I want a book that, like I'm
brushing my teeth.
Yeah.
And I can't put it down.
What, what is it?
A boot?
Little risque.
Are we getting into that?
So it's about a dad and hestarts hooking up with his
daughter's boyfriend.
Yes.
That's good.
Kristine (01:08:45):
That's nice.
Wow.
You
Carrie (01:08:47):
heard that correctly.
And so obviously they're of age, like it's not, but it just, it
didn't make me want to donothing but read.
Yeah.
You know?
Yeah.
So I just, I had to put it tothe side.
Maybe another day it's a littletaboo, so maybe another day.
Wow.
Okay.
Okay.
And uh, do you have another oneor do I have another one?
(01:09:07):
Um,
Kristine (01:09:09):
I don't know the, uh,
I've just shortened down the
name.
Hm.
P on Instagram.
Um, as Kristine said, they'rebuilding a house in one episode.
Are you still going to be ableto talk to walk in between?
Yes, yes, we will.
We're be leav
Carrie (01:09:22):
little closer.
Gonna be closer our backyard'stouch.
Yeah.
So
Kristine (01:09:26):
still, still walking
distance.
That's, and then some, and thensome very close.
Very, very close.
And that's, that's my answer forthat one.
Mm-hmm.
Do you have another question?
Was that it?
I don't.
Awesome.
Push up three.
Keep setting those questions in.
Yeah.
Because we really enjoy them andwe do.
Carrie (01:09:40):
We like answering them.
Yeah.
And we'll answer a fewquestions.
Yeah.
We have load for next week Thatreally tie into next week's
episode.

Kristine (01:09:54):
whatever you peck, you
go
Carrie (01:09:55):
first.
Okay.
Sure.
You go first, George.
Okay.
So this is like silver Foxedition?
Yeah.
Okay.
Got George Clooney.
Mm.
Pierce Brosnan.

I think that if I have thatopportunity, if I have that
opportunity, I am not lettingthat one slip.
No, no.
It's Pierce.
If I had the op, if all three ofthem walked in, I'm gonna try to
go for all three.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But if I only
Carrie (01:10:33):
coulda got one.
Yeah.
You can only pick one.
I would take,
Kristine (01:10:36):
uh, Pierce Pierce.
10 outta 10.
Even right now at his age.
Don't, oh yeah.
Um, how old do
Carrie (01:10:41):
you think he is?
Kristine (01:10:42):
67.
I'm Googling it.
I, that was just a guess.
I have no idea.
It was not an educated guess.
Carrie (01:10:49):
He is 70.
Oh, I was really close.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Still,
Kristine (01:10:54):
still good with that.
Yep.
Um, and then I would probablymarry Will Smith.
Yeah.
I don't wanna kill George, but,I feel like I have this really
good opportunity with GeorgePierce.
George 20 is 62 And Will,
Carrie (01:11:11):
will Smith is, he's
young.
He's the youngest of I'm 54.

Kristine (01:11:17):

Mary Well and
Carrie (01:11:20):
kill George Clooney.
