The Saints have stumbled out of the gate in 2025, starting 0-4 with losses to the Cardinals, 49ers, Seahawks, and Bills. On paper, they’re a confusing team — ranked 28th in scoring at just 16.5 points per game yet 2nd in total yards with 301 per game. Their passing game has been a nightmare, ranking 27th in yards per game despite throwing the ball over 37 times per contest. Spencer Rattler has been efficient with just one interception and a 67.1% completion rate, but he hasn’t produced explosive plays.

The Saints’ real strength lies in the ground game, where Kamara and rookie Kendre Miller combine for over 120 rushing yards per game. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed lead a struggling wide receiver corps, while TE Johnson surprisingly leads the team with 204 receiving yards. On defense, the Saints are giving up 30.3 points per game — bottom of the NFL — despite allowing just 324 yards per game. Their pass rush remains dangerous thanks to Carl Granderson’s 4.5 sacks and Cameron Jordan’s continued dominance in his 15th season. Kool Aid McKinstry and Alontae Taylor headline a young secondary, but turnovers have been scarce.
For the Giants, this is a chance to prove they’ve turned a corner after a rocky start. Exploiting the Saints’ weak passing defense while protecting Jaxson Dart against a top-10 pass rush will be the key. This matchup sets up as a fascinating battle of strengths and weaknesses, and both teams desperately need a win to get their seasons back on track.
